I really hoped for more from this restaurant, especially based on the positive reviews. As soon as you put the menu down, someone comes over to order. They get their food and drinks right away. The next guests are standing outside, jostling for a seat. The staff is friendly, though. Unfortunately, they have to deal with impatient customers the whole time. It's disruptive. This is absolute processing. In and out... My husband had just finished his starter when the main course arrived. I had salmon with kohlrabi. The kohlrabi was in such a light, sticky sauce and there was way too much of it. It was definitely a convenience store. The piece of salmon looked like it had come straight from the freezer. It was poorly presented. The clientele there is always changing. They fill their house, but unfortunately, I can't anymore.

I can't understand how anyone can call all of this good. There were two of us there. I had the salmon with kohlrabi cream sauce. It was terrible. The salmon was still raw in the middle, the cream sauce was more like a light broth with something else. Even the kohlrabi had no flavor at all. The duchess potatoes were just frozen croquettes, twisted together. When I pointed this out, all I got was: "Our fish is always like this. If you wanted it fried to death, you should have told me beforehand!" Ouch! Off to the kitchen, and shortly after, the plate came back. With a bite of salmon, of course. Now steaming hot. The microwave makes it possible. All for €32 (including a drink). People, do yourselves a favor and stop this tourist rip-off business. Then I'll save you a lot of money on pure convenience food. And my stomach will thank you. Terrible!

Whenever we vacation in Zingst, we always eat at the Klabautermann. The staff is very friendly, the food and portions are excellent. We'll be back. Beforehand, the skipper was instructed to only eat outside, even though it was raining and cold.

We had dinner at Klabautermann in the afternoon and were able to choose a table. When I put the ashtray aside on our table, it was quite rudely put back. No one asked if it might bother us. My wife had pork medallions and I had a pork loin steak. Unfortunately, both were quite tough and dry. My daughter's schnitzel was good, though! With the exception of one employee, all the other employees were very friendly and accommodating!

Great restaurant in Zingst! 😊 The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was incredibly delicious; we especially recommend the sauerfleisch (pork with fried potatoes) and the cod fillet in an egg shell. Fresh, delicious, everything was top-notch. We'll be back!

Service was terrible! We were told it wasn't possible to leave out the yogurt dressing on our salad, and when we asked, we were again defiantly denied! The explanation: We didn't want any dressing due to an intolerance. Since we didn't want to pay for such inexplicable inflexibility, we left the restaurant despite the tempting menu. Perhaps management could rethink this!

Yes, absolutely. The food was divine. We went there twice, and it deserves more than 5 stars. My two children said it was amazing. And I can only confirm that. The staff was fantastic! Special thanks to one person who served us twice. Keep up the good work and see you next year.

I was guided by the very good reviews. Unfortunately, for me, it wasn't what I expected, but rather what my review reflects.

There were three of us and we had to wait outside for a short while for a free table, as we hadn't reserved one in advance. The staff made every effort to quickly seat the waiting guests. We ordered the current special of the day, one zander fillet and one the Klabautermann fish platter. The wait was about half an hour. However, it was very busy. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The staff were very friendly despite the full house. From our perspective, everything was perfect, and we'll definitely be back on our next visit to Zingst.

Six of us ate at Klabautermann. We were completely satisfied. The staff welcomed us very warmly. The food was very good; we ordered a variety of dishes, and everyone was very satisfied. We can definitely recommend this restaurant.

We ate here twice last year, and it was simply excellent. We came back on our vacation this year, and nothing negative has changed. The price/performance ratio is simply excellent! The plates are generously filled with delicious fish dishes. The prices are perfectly reasonable. Highly recommended! During the season, however, you should arrive for dinner by 5:00 p.m. at the latest, otherwise it will be difficult. You can adjust to that.

One star is still too many!!!! A waitress who, when I asked her: You're fed up with your job, said 'NO' and rolled her eyes, and then said...then find another restaurant.... What else can I say??? The boss was arrogant and only had his eye on the dollar signs. I left with that, had a delicious meal, and was served very politely. Not everyone should be allowed to roam the earth. This shouldn't happen in the restaurant industry. Truly sad. Anyone who can't handle the stress of this job should stay home!

We asked about a reservation for the next evening and were rudely dismissed, saying that they didn't take reservations and that we should just show up, there would be a spot, and if not, we'd just have to wait. The fact that reservations aren't possible during peak season isn't even the problem here, but rather the way we were instructed.

Best food in Zingst, prices are right and absolutely delicious, staff are friendly, I can only recommend it.

"Klabautermann" – Visit on August 11, 2025 We spontaneously got a table inside, which we very much appreciated as we wanted to avoid mosquitoes. Unfortunately, one waitress tarnished our positive first impression: When a guest wanted to close an open window, a waitress approached us very forcefully and in an unfriendly manner, insisting that it remain open. This waitress's demeanor was a negative throughout our entire stay – fortunately, she wasn't serving our table. For the meal: Salmon with kohlrabi and potatoes (my wife): solid, tasted okay – grade 3. Pork loin steak with mushrooms and fried potatoes (my choice): also a grade 3 in terms of appearance and taste, but unfortunately, it was only served warm, not hot. The restaurant is reasonably priced, but based on our experience, we wouldn't return.

You can not book a table in advance. And standing in a queue in front of a restaurant is unpleasant. But by side that, definitely worth to eat fish there

As a family with a toddler and a small four-legged friend, we were practically thrown out of the restaurant in the most unfriendly manner by a server, who then did not want to give her name so that she could pass on appropriate information to management, even though there were enough free tables.

We came here for dinner. The food was okay (fish, fried potatoes, fries, steak). The fish and potatoes could have been seasoned a bit better. We liked the seating in the beach chairs. We didn't like the fact that you can't reserve a table (unfortunately, like in many restaurants in Zingst).

I've never experienced anything so rude. We were practically thrown out because there was supposedly no room for a stroller. There were several tables available, but apparently there's no room for small children. Fortunately, Zingst has other very pleasant restaurants.

The plaice was raw and unseasoned. The schnitzel was served cold! The schnitzel was also completely unseasoned. Overall, it wasn't convincing. The server, Susi, was super nice and helpful. We were there during opening hours. When we asked if we could sit down (three minutes before opening), we were told no. We had a baby with us and wanted to breastfeed. This, too, totally deducted stars!

Locals recommended the Klabautermann (a German folk costume) to us. Of course, restaurants everywhere in Zingst are packed in the evenings, but two people usually manage to get a seat. They immediately stopped us with our bikes and seated us. We loved that. Unfortunately, the waiter had forgotten the tables outside, so we had a long wait before we could order and then get something to drink. The food was excellent, plentiful, and light.

After a short wait due to the busy restaurant, we were able to enjoy delicious fish. The price and quality were absolutely fine.

We stood in line to be assigned a table, and the staff clearly noticed, but we were consistently ignored. Our "Hello" to start a conversation and ask for a table was considered a polite excuse, and the staff walked past us faster than we could speak. Perhaps the staff should be trained to have an eye for their work and the customers, rather than just staring around aimlessly. Absolutely not recommended, what a shame.

Reservations are unfortunately not possible. If you want to have lunch here, you should arrive on time, otherwise all the tables will be taken quickly. The restaurant opened at 11:45 a.m. sharp. Unfortunately, they greeted us with an unfriendly "Sooo..." instead of a "Welcome!" Then we asked for a table for six and were immediately escorted outside without asking. However, we wanted to sit inside with a person with mobility issues! Then they surly pushed three smaller tables together inside. The service we received from then on was very friendly and attentive! The food came quickly, was delicious, plentiful, and the prices reasonable. Apart from the greeting from the shorter, more robust lady, everything was great.

The Klaubautermann offers the usual Baltic Sea mix on the menu, enriched with some GDR classics. The portions are huge, and our roast was unfortunately extremely salty. The decor is rustic but clean.

Excellent food!!! Whether meat, fish, or vegetables, it's always cooked to perfection. The vegetables aren't boiled until mushy, but served perfectly al dente. The vegetables here still retain their vitamins! The green beans are also delicious with tasty bacon. Large portions. Good value for money. Friendly service. We consider this the cleanest restaurant in the area, including the restrooms, even though the restaurant is very busy. While everything is clean and well-maintained in Zingst, it's a bit more hygienic here.

We ate at Klabautermann today and were pleasantly surprised. My husband had a fish platter and I had the solyanka. There was nothing wrong with the food. The fish was juicy and the fried potatoes were crispy and well-seasoned. The side salad was more than adequate... We can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.
