We came here for dinner with two families and were thrilled! The food was consistently delicious and the plates generously filled. A thoroughly enjoyable evening – we'd definitely be back!

We arrived with appetites, were served quickly, and the food was really good and the portions generous. Since we were there in beautiful weather, we were seated on the terrace despite the crowds. The waitress quickly brought a straightforward menu, but there was something for everyone, even for little ones or for seniors. Since we were very satisfied, we returned and were very satisfied again. If we're back in Zingst, we'll be happy to return! See you soon and keep up the good work!!!

We were at the "Klabautermann" on a Friday. When we entered the restaurant, we didn't even bother to ask for a table for two - we were immediately shown and "seated" to a nice, freshly wiped spot. The waitress immediately brought the menus and after a short time we had already ordered our food - it was supposed to be the "Hamburger Schnitzel". After a reasonable wait (the schnitzels and fried potatoes were finally freshly prepared), our plates arrived - what was on them was very impressive. A very nice, breaded and, above all, not "fried" schnitzel with a fried egg on top and delicious fried potatoes. The portions were plentiful and very, very tasty! And all of this at a really affordable price these days. Our waitress was also on the ball; nice, courteous and competent. So all in all, a very successful visit to the restaurant, which we will definitely repeat when we are in Zingst again!

Zum Klabautermann – Solid fish cuisine with small weaknesses The Klabautermann is always well attended and does not accept reservations in May. Patient guests still usually find a free table - including us, after we waited briefly for a seat inside. The service could be a little friendlier towards waiting guests. The menu offers the typical Baltic Sea mix of fish and meat dishes. Our choice fell on the Klabautermann salad plate and the Klabautermann fish platter. The fish were excellently fried and juicy, the salad and the side salad were solid. The fried potatoes could have been a little crispier, but were well seasoned. Unfortunately, the baguette that was served with it was a failure - it was dry and not fresh. Since I didn't want to eat bread anyway, this wasn't a big drawback for me. A small downer was our seat right by the patio door. Since both guests and service staff were constantly coming in and out, the door was often left open, which led to unpleasant drafts. Ultimately, we and a neighboring table had to help ourselves several times to close the door. Despite these small points of criticism, Klabautermann remains a good restaurant with solid cuisine - we'll be back!

We've been there several times now and everything we've ordered has been really tasty. As long as we are still in Zingst, we will eat there. Oh, very friendly staff and the prices are okay too.

It was very busy on a beautiful May Day. The food would still be delivered quickly and warm. The food was super delicious. Homemade coleslaw, schnitzel and fried potatoes. Portions are very large and the beer tastes good too. Thank you for that and we will definitely be back

I looked at the reviews of the restaurants in the area and decided on this one. A few others performed worse, or better ones closed. It's not summer yet. The waitress was very attentive and kept a watchful eye. The restaurant and toilets were perfectly clean, everything could just use a little freshening up. A little more zeitgeist. The food matched the interior. It was no longer decorated in a contemporary manner and could use a little more pizzazz. The shrimp were absolutely done, but my fish was on point. The fried potatoes could have been a little crunchier and slightly less buttery. Unfortunately, my daughter's schnitzel was too thick and too well-done. As a result, the lightness of a schnitzel was lost and the crunch of the fried potatoes was lost. It just has to be a little fluffy. A little tip, watch Hänssler's YouTube video, that's how I do mine too, it always works. Why am I writing this? I tried to say it nicely on the spot, but was immediately met with friendly resistance. The criticism is meant kindly because they are also lovely people. But it's not a 4.6, but rather a 3.4. I would be happy about an improvement in the food and would be happy to come back.

On the recommendation of a friend, we decided to visit the restaurant at short notice. About 15 minutes before our arrival we called to inquire about the availability of a table. There is space for 2 people, but the kitchen only works until 8 p.m. That wasn't a problem for us either. When we arrived we were greeted in an unfriendly manner and were told that the kitchen would not cook until 7:45 p.m. (we had it shortly after 7:30 p.m. in the half-filled restaurant). Something like that can always happen, but we overheard another conversation between another waitress and other arriving guests who were rudely pointed out that the kitchen was closed. When paying, we mentioned the unfriendliness of our waitress. Unfortunately, the explanations weren't helpful either, which is why I'm writing this review here in this form. The food was good, home-style and lived up to expectations. For cod in an egg shell, schnitzel hunter style and 2 drinks we paid less than €50.

A must try, good home cooking and full plates

A small but absolutely fine restaurant. We ate there without a reservation on a Monday in the low season (02/17/25). The restaurant was full. We got a place. There are some deductions here because there were 4x tables for 2, which were about 50cm apart. stood to each other. But that's more papal than the pope. There was enough space to eat and talk. 🫠 This restaurant has been noted and we would love to come back. The service was also very friendly and attentive.

It was pretty disappointing. Requests for food, e.g. Extra champies for the schnitzel, fried potatoes instead of fries, "not possible", there is no vegetarian or vegan option. “Salad” was the offer. You can't even opt out of bacon at the farmer's breakfast. The tone of it, not friendly. The food wasn't great either, the sour meat wasn't really sour, the pork was dry and tough, and everything was generally too bland. Well, the main thing is that the dog in the kitchen had fun, which is what the health department says about it. Conclusion, not again.

Years ago it was a very nice restaurant, you could absolutely enjoy the food and the service was super nice. Today things look different! The staff is unfriendly and shows a lack of interest in the customer. The food isn't what it used to be either. The quality has deteriorated significantly. What bothered us the most was, as I said, the very unfriendly staff. All I can say is, go a few steps further to the beach cottage, you won't regret it at all.

Very good price-performance ratio

Even after 2 p.m. you're not really welcome as a "coffee" guest, as long as there's still enough hope for "dining guests". The in-house advertising outside the restaurant, which advertises a hot drink and a piece of cake, doesn't seem to be really known to the employees. Otherwise it is a decent, cozy economy.

Down-to-earth food with a really generous portion size at a more than fair price.

Wir hatten am Weihnachtsfeiertag eine halbe Ente- im Fischrestaurant, kein Problem. Es gab auch extra ausgewählte Fisch-Tagesangebote. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, die Teller reich gefüllt (haben wir auch am Nebentisch beobachtet) die Preise überraschend gut. Den Klabautermann kann ich nur empfehlen wenn man Zingst besucht.

Unfortunately, there are always guests who have no idea good food, taking out their bad mood on the staff and not being able to behave. It's a shame that restaurateurs can't rate their guests. So first of all, I had dinner with my partner and we just can't understand these negative reviews about poor service. We were always met in a friendly manner both on the phone (when making the reservation) and on site in the restaurant. The food was great, a little much in the starter, but great home cooking. From our table we could also see how the restaurant was filling up, including a lot of walk-in customers and they were trying to find a place for everyone. It also depends on how you talk to the waiter and the innkeeper and a host doesn't have to put up with everything. Maybe some guests should take a look at themselves and not judge them badly if they are not allowed to push tables together, or do your guests also rearrange half of the apartment when they visit?! Stay realistic, it's a good place :)

Why does the restaurant have such good reviews? Ambience inside is very old-fashioned. Seating from the 80s? The terrace, on the other hand, has been beautifully done. The food is so…sorry for saying that, typical Ossi. The seasoned meat was in such a glassy white sauce that I don't think there was any milk or cream in the roux. And it was also poorly seasoned. For the main course, the raw vegetable salad with lots of iceberg, a tomato quarter and two slices of cucumber. Absolutely loveless. But at least with delicious dressing. Unfortunately the fish died for the second time in the pan, more like the grill. Very dry. Fried potatoes were just about ok. The second main course, the pike perch, wasn't much better. Fish was dry, shrimps that were supposed to be North Sea crabs but were out were barely seasoned. And then the Labskaus…catastrophe! Here, too, there was no milk or cream on the potato mixture, so it tasted very watery. Corned beef or beef was hardly available. Maybe the right chef now has a vacation after the season (which he certainly deserves after a hard season). This can definitely be done better. Too bad about the money. The plates at the surrounding tables were not empty either, which is certainly not due to large portions.

My wife and I haven't eaten fish this well for a long time and at a reasonable price. The ambience is rather simple but the food is first class. The very courteous service rounded off our very pleasant visit. We would love to come back when we are in Zingst!

Unfassbar schlechtes Essen, trockenes und altes Baguette, unfreundliche freche Bedienung. NIE WIEDER!!!!!! Anscheinend hat man es nicht mehr nötig gutes Essen und eine freundliche Bedienung an den Kunden heranzutragen. Ich kann nur jedem abraten der gutes Essen erwartet.

We had dinner at Klabautermann for the first time on November 1st, 2024 and we really enjoyed it. Since we hadn't made a reservation, we went there as a couple and got a table, the restaurant has a few tables for walk-in customers who did not make a reservation. The restaurant was very busy, but the service was still very good, friendly and nice. Dishes were also offered that were not on the menu, very good service. I ate Labskaus there for the first time and was very impressed by this dish, I really enjoyed it, my wife's food (Zander fillet) was also very good., all in all, a very successful stay at Klabautermann, we'll come back Definitely again the next time we are in Zingst.

Wir haben extra einen Tisch vorbestellt da es sonst kaum möglich ist einen Tisch zu bekommen. Es war für uns ein etwas besseres Schnell Restaurant und nicht mehr. Service war super, aber das Essen war echt nicht besonders. Wir hatten zum einen die Tagesempfehlung "Fisch zweierlei" und die Fischplatte. Das gesamte Essen war kaum bis garnicht gewürzt und auch total lieblos angerichtet. Mein Lachs wurde als Ersatz für den Barsch gebracht (gab es nicht) dieser war ziemlich verbrannt und war dadurch bitter. Die Champisoße von der Tagesempfehlung schmeckte doll nach Chemie und war echt nicht schön anzusehen. Außerdem waren die Salate mit irgendwelcher schweren Salat Dressing Soße vermischt, was absolut nicht dolle war. Ich bin nicht unbedingt der Salatfreak, aber meine Frau bekommt das auf jeden Fall besser hin. Wir haben uns die Rezessionen vorher durchgelesen und haben uns eigentlich mehr davon versprochen. Wir sind trotzdem satt geworden,aber eine Empfehlung würde ich zur Zeit nicht geben...

I was very interested in the menu and the associated prices. Then I read in the reviews that dogs are not welcome. We then didn't eat there. You can accept the house rules, but you don't have to.

Another of the many restaurants in Zingst that I wasn't allowed to enter with my dog. What makes matters worse is that guests are not allowed to freely choose the payment method. The fact that only German EC cards are accepted is at best critical of the EU; worse would be simple xenophobia.

There were five of us and as soon as we entered the almost empty restaurant we were told that we could only sit at two separate tables or on the heated outside terrace. 'We don't push tables together here.' With normal wooden tables and cold, rainy weather in autumn, simply without words. We then went somewhere else.

Ate zander fillet with fried potatoes on October 29, 2024. My wife and I gave this meal a rating of A. Staff very friendly. Atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant. I can recommend it at any time.

Zum Klabautermann is a typical regional fish restaurant, but also serves hearty home cooking. Here father and son can be found in the guest room. Everything here revolves around the well-being of the customers. A reservation is absolutely necessary. The range of dishes on offer is varied. The service is top notch.

Went there this morning and asked for a reservation. We don't make any statements. In the evening two tables came in with reservation signs and couldn't get a seat. This is indecent and not okay. I was always friendly and asked reasonable questions.

I haven't eaten such bad uninspired cuisine in a long time. Solyanka Tomato soup with overcooked stuff - I would almost assume that stuff came from a can Shrimp on wild herb salad The shrimp died in the pan a second time - the "salad" was completely unmarinated (leaves from the package onto the plate) - the baguette was old and dry If you don't care about taste and enjoyment and value quick food and oversized portions, you may feel at home here. For me that was absolutely disappointing.

Cozy restaurant. The staff is friendly and the food is very good. Cod fillet in an egg shell was no longer glassy but still juicy. The fish soup was awesome. Actually more of a fish solyanka but so delicious that it would have to be given 6 stars.

Small normal restaurant The prawn cocktail was a disgrace, no taste, way too much salad, no sauce, just not ok for just under €10 Jägerschnitzel was also just ok. The fish seems to be more of a hit, everyone around us was eating fish. However, the service was commendable.

Small centrally located restaurant. Unfortunately the starter (shrimp cocktail) was a complete failure and in this case way too expensive. The main course (Jägerschnitzel) was a decent portion. The price is completely ok. The service is quick and friendly.

Es war ein perfekter Start in unseren Urlaub. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und schnell platziert, das Essen war sehr lecker, unsere Kellnerin (und nicht nur die allein) immer freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis durchaus angebracht. Von daher gibt es von uns eine klare Empfehlung.
