Why does the restaurant have such good reviews? Ambience inside is very old-fashioned. Seating from the 80s? The terrace, on the other hand, has been beautifully done. The food is so…sorry for saying that, typical Ossi. The seasoned meat was in such a glassy white sauce that I don't think there was any milk or cream in the roux. And it was also poorly seasoned. For the main course, the raw vegetable salad with lots of iceberg, a tomato quarter and two slices of cucumber. Absolutely loveless. But at least with delicious dressing. Unfortunately the fish died for the second time in the pan, more like the grill. Very dry. Fried potatoes were just about ok. The second main course, the pike perch, wasn't much better. Fish was dry, shrimps that were supposed to be North Sea crabs but were out were barely seasoned. And then the Labskaus…catastrophe! Here, too, there was no milk or cream on the potato mixture, so it tasted very watery. Corned beef or beef was hardly available. Maybe the right chef now has a vacation after the season (which he certainly deserves after a hard season). This can definitely be done better. Too bad about the money. The plates at the surrounding tables were not empty either, which is certainly not due to large portions.

My wife and I haven't eaten fish this well for a long time and at a reasonable price. The ambience is rather simple but the food is first class. The very courteous service rounded off our very pleasant visit. We would love to come back when we are in Zingst!

Unfassbar schlechtes Essen, trockenes und altes Baguette, unfreundliche freche Bedienung. NIE WIEDER!!!!!! Anscheinend hat man es nicht mehr nötig gutes Essen und eine freundliche Bedienung an den Kunden heranzutragen. Ich kann nur jedem abraten der gutes Essen erwartet.

We had dinner at Klabautermann for the first time on November 1st, 2024 and we really enjoyed it. Since we hadn't made a reservation, we went there as a couple and got a table, the restaurant has a few tables for walk-in customers who did not make a reservation. The restaurant was very busy, but the service was still very good, friendly and nice. Dishes were also offered that were not on the menu, very good service. I ate Labskaus there for the first time and was very impressed by this dish, I really enjoyed it, my wife's food (Zander fillet) was also very good., all in all, a very successful stay at Klabautermann, we'll come back Definitely again the next time we are in Zingst.

I was very disappointed with the farmer's omelet! Very simply prepared, not convincing in terms of taste. What bothered me the most was constantly having cigarette smoke in my nose while I was eating, as people outside the restaurant were sitting and smoking directly at the open windows of the winter garden. The smoke always drifted into the room when there was a gust of wind. There was also an employee sitting in the background who was constantly discussing company plans with other employees.

I was very interested in the menu and the associated prices. Then I read in the reviews that dogs are not welcome. We then didn't eat there. You can accept the house rules, but you don't have to.

Another of the many restaurants in Zingst that I wasn't allowed to enter with my dog. What makes matters worse is that guests are not allowed to freely choose the payment method. The fact that only German EC cards are accepted is at best critical of the EU; worse would be simple xenophobia.

Wir haben extra einen Tisch vorbestellt da es sonst kaum möglich ist einen Tisch zu bekommen. Es war für uns ein etwas besseres Schnell Restaurant und nicht mehr. Service war super, aber das Essen war echt nicht besonders. Wir hatten zum einen die Tagesempfehlung "Fisch zweierlei" und die Fischplatte. Das gesamte Essen war kaum bis garnicht gewürzt und auch total lieblos angerichtet. Mein Lachs wurde als Ersatz für den Barsch gebracht (gab es nicht) dieser war ziemlich verbrannt und war dadurch bitter. Die Champisoße von der Tagesempfehlung schmeckte doll nach Chemie und war echt nicht schön anzusehen. Außerdem waren die Salate mit irgendwelcher schweren Salat Dressing Soße vermischt, was absolut nicht dolle war. Ich bin nicht unbedingt der Salatfreak, aber meine Frau bekommt das auf jeden Fall besser hin. Wir haben uns die Rezessionen vorher durchgelesen und haben uns eigentlich mehr davon versprochen. Wir sind trotzdem satt geworden,aber eine Empfehlung würde ich zur Zeit nicht geben...

There were five of us and as soon as we entered the almost empty restaurant we were told that we could only sit at two separate tables or on the heated outside terrace. 'We don't push tables together here.' With normal wooden tables and cold, rainy weather in autumn, simply without words. We then went somewhere else.

Ate zander fillet with fried potatoes on October 29, 2024. My wife and I gave this meal a rating of A. Staff very friendly. Atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant. I can recommend it at any time.

Zum Klabautermann is a typical regional fish restaurant, but also serves hearty home cooking. Here father and son can be found in the guest room. Everything here revolves around the well-being of the customers. A reservation is absolutely necessary. The range of dishes on offer is varied. The service is top notch.

Cozy restaurant. The staff is friendly and the food is very good. Cod fillet in an egg shell was no longer glassy but still juicy. The fish soup was awesome. Actually more of a fish solyanka but so delicious that it would have to be given 6 stars.

I haven't eaten such bad uninspired cuisine in a long time. Solyanka Tomato soup with overcooked stuff - I would almost assume that stuff came from a can Shrimp on wild herb salad The shrimp died in the pan a second time - the "salad" was completely unmarinated (leaves from the package onto the plate) - the baguette was old and dry If you don't care about taste and enjoyment and value quick food and oversized portions, you may feel at home here. For me that was absolutely disappointing.

Went there this morning and asked for a reservation. We don't make any statements. In the evening two tables came in with reservation signs and couldn't get a seat. This is indecent and not okay. I was always friendly and asked reasonable questions.

We can only say good things about this restaurant. It was very well attended, but there was covered and heated seating outside which had a great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and really on the ball! The menu is not too overloaded, but very varied. The portions were very large and the quality and taste were really very good. We'd love to come back to you when we're back in Zingst

Small centrally located restaurant. Unfortunately the starter (shrimp cocktail) was a complete failure and in this case way too expensive. The main course (Jägerschnitzel) was a decent portion. The price is completely ok. The service is quick and friendly.

Small normal restaurant The prawn cocktail was a disgrace, no taste, way too much salad, no sauce, just not ok for just under €10 Jägerschnitzel was also just ok. The fish seems to be more of a hit, everyone around us was eating fish. However, the service was commendable.

Es war ein perfekter Start in unseren Urlaub. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und schnell platziert, das Essen war sehr lecker, unsere Kellnerin (und nicht nur die allein) immer freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis durchaus angebracht. Von daher gibt es von uns eine klare Empfehlung.

The food was well...the fish was unfortunately too dry, the fried potatoes weren't crispy and the salad was simply tasteless - nothing that you'll remember from a culinary perspective. Portion size was large and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and quick. All in all: you can do it - but you don't have to.

We really liked it. It's worth visiting again next time.

This evening we spontaneously went to Klabautermann, which was a very good idea. The service was very nice and attentive. We once had the farmer's breakfast, it was prepared a little differently than expected. But it was delicious that's the main thing! My husband had the 500g plaice and couldn't stop raving about it. So there's nothing wrong with going there again. Definitely recommended. 2 dogs were at least no problem outside, we don't know of any inside.

Wanted to go out to eat in the company of our medium-sized, clean and dry dog. Were brushed out in a very very unfriendly manner right in the entrance area. Impossible.

Mit Hund nicht erwünscht Am Eingang wird darauf hingewiesen, dass Hunde bei Regenwetter nicht ins Restaurant dürfen. Das ist m. E. Ok, aber heute hat es nur nachmittags geregnet. Als ich gerade ins Restaurant gehen wollte, ist es trocken und windig. Kein Tropfen Regen fällt vom Himmel und mein Hund ist ebenfalls trocken. Dennoch wurde mir der Zutritt verweigert. Eine Schande für einen eigentlich hundefreundlichen Ort.

Unfortunately, there was a significant deterioration compared to last year. The fried potatoes were very fatty and hardly seasoned; in terms of taste, they were only warmed up in fat and not freshly fried. We knew this much better from last year. Nice service staff, prices okay.

Impossible staff. As a single you should sit down with strangers, even if it's outside and there are free tables. Totally discriminatory.

The three of us went to this restaurant for the first time. It is furnished normally, without any chic, there is enough space between the tables. The staff are friendly. The portions are very large, including the senior plate, which we were forced to take because my friend's mother only eats very little and not everything. We would have liked to have had a children's plate with fish fingers for her, but this was refused, saying that the plate was only intended for children and would not be given to adults. She then took a senior's plate from the daily menu, fried cod with fried potatoes, which was still far too big. My friend didn't take anything because she knew she would have to eat almost all of her mother's plate, which was met with astonishment. I then just took a solyanka, which was very good. With a little more flexibility they would have sold two normal plates and a children's plate plus drinks, so it was just a senior plate and a solyanka. Too bad. However, I have to say on the positive side that you don't necessarily have to make a reservation, you can come spontaneously.

We were always super satisfied 3 years ago, but yesterday totally disappointed with the food, it's really getting worse, what a shame!

Wanted to have lunch here with three adults, a child (4) and 2 babies (10 months). There were a few tables occupied and the food looked good. We would be sent outside without a friendly greeting because it would be “too narrow.” From our point of view, there would have been more than enough space inside and letting babies sit outside in a windy 14 degrees was unacceptable to us. Unfortunately, no one came towards us, so we walked 30 meters further and found a really great shop where we were warmly welcomed.

Admittedly, I was in the restaurant shortly before the kitchen closed, but the food was very scarce. Soft, soggy fried potatoes that may have been stored in the pan for a long time, a dry pike-perch fillet, a salad made from simple ingredients: canned corn and iceberg lettuce, which, as always, is almost tasteless.

We had dinner here this evening (9/30/24). The waitresses are all super friendly. I had the daily special of cod fillet with homemade potato salad and my friend had the farmer's breakfast. Both were extremely tasty, absolutely top, the fish and everything else was a poem🤗🤩👏🏻 A big compliment to the kitchen. Absolutely recommended 👏🏻👍🏻🤗

Today was our first time eating there, and for my part also the last time. I ordered fish that was supposed to be a little gratinated with egg and shrimp. When I didn't find any shrimp and asked, I got the answer that she forgot to say that there were no more. Then I said that my fish was very dry and was completely cooked through, and the waitress just said that I had sauce. That's what it would be intended for. Sorry, but no. I don't eat anymore.

The daily recommendation, fillets of sea bream and pollack with lentil curry and cucumber salad tasted great. The fish was fresh and well fried. My husband also really enjoyed the egg-baked cod. If I were in Zingst for longer, I would eat at Klavautermann every day.

Wer Kinder hat, sollte sich von diesem Restaurant fernhalten - diese sind offensichtlich absolut nicht erwünscht. Die absolut unverschämte Kellnerin mit dem Schielauge konnte das nicht einmal freundlich kommunizieren und wurde sehr aufmüpfig. So etwas habe ich noch nicht erlebt! Dazu werden noch (gerechtfertigt) schlechte Bewertungen gelöscht...

Super tasty fish at fair prices!

I've eaten there 5 times now and have to say that the portions are incredibly large and the pricing is really more than fair. Unfortunately there is a small flaw. The salad might need to be reworked because the dressing is too thick and only sits on top and when that's gone, the rest of the salad is left completely natural. Otherwise, always happy. Pricing for the drinks is already expensive throughout Zingst, but it's a holiday 😂 Keep it up, I'll be happy to come back!

A nice restaurant in the middle of Fuzo, we were there at half past three after seeing people being employed as we drove past last night. The service is very friendly, the food is very good 👍 Price performance ok. The picture shows a fish platter with eel, cod and salmon, as well as a cod fillet in an egg, both of which were very 👍

The four of us ate at Klabautermann today and had schnitzel twice and fish twice. The food was excellent and the portions were unmanageable despite being very hungry. Particularly noteworthy is the friendliness and competence of the staff. We'll be back!

Food sounds good but unfortunately the service is not up to par. 3 adults and 2 children - the tables are not allowed to be pushed together, we were directed from the front to the back. UPS-unfortunately no space but pushing tables together is not possible. Only 2 adults wanted to eat but according to the waitress the plates were too big… Next time it would be best to say that children are not welcome. Unfriendly and definitely never again. And putting the tables together right opposite wasn't a problem and we sat right in the front area.

I thought the name said it all and ordered the “Klabautermann” fish platter with 3 types of fish. Well, cod was out but there was salmon instead. No problem if the fish wasn't that dead. The eel was terribly dry and therefore tough, salmon was recognizable and but what was the other dry part of the fish... There was also a lot of salad on the same plate, no ratio. So there will be no second visit during the week of vacation in Zingst. Too bad.

Reservierungen wurden in diesem Lokal nicht entgegen genommen, also haben wir uns eingereiht in die Schlange der Wartenden. Dies ist eigentlich nicht mein Ding, es hat etwas von einer Massenabfertigung. Nach dem zugewiesenen Tisch, in dem etwas kitschig anmutenden Restaurant, mussten wir doch etwas länger auf unsere bestellten Gerichte warten. Mein bestellter Dorsch war sehr gut zubereitet, während das Gericht meiner Frau schon ziemlich trocken und erkaltet serviert wurde. Dies habe ich bei der Nachfrage der Servicekraft dann auch kundgetan. Wir hätten uns sofort mitteilen müssen war die Aussage lapidar. Es wäre trotzdem schön gewesen, uns etwas als Entschädigung anzubieten.

Positive: despite being busy, service was quick and the side salad was absolutely fine Negative: the parsley potatoes were from yesterday and we all know what they taste like, namely not at all. The cod in egg shells is rather dry.

This is our first time on holiday in Zingst and we have now been to Klabautermann three times. The food was always very tasty. Huge portions, whether fish or meat dishes. Service always friendly. You can sit outside very well (without reservation). We'd love to come back.

The old waiter was very unfriendly. The food was normal but very expensive.

The cod was simply delicious and the potato salad with it was like Grandma's. It doesn't get any better. We say thank you and will come back soon.

Came here because of the good reviews. However, we were disappointed! An expensive, promising starter was ultimately quite poor and therefore completely overpriced, the food was prepared relatively carelessly and only served lukewarm. Too bad, unfortunately next time somewhere else.

We have been coming here every holiday for many, many years at least once, usually twice, the cod is simply the tastiest! Tip: Mondays with homemade potato salad - super tasty. It is not possible to reserve outside, so plan to wait in the evening with a bit of a wait. But it's worth it! The service is also top notch, super fast, helpful and attentive. In our opinion: the best restaurant in Zingst. The picture is from last year, this time we forgot the photos on both visits - the food was just gone too quickly 😃😅

If you are looking for a very good fish restaurant, this is the right place. We had the daily special (hake, sea bream and lentil curry with sweet potatoes) which was simply fantastic, the fish was grilled to perfection and super juicy 😋

Very nicely located and good area worth visiting

Dear restaurant, we had dinner here the week before last. My husband's food was great, the fish was well prepared, everything was ok... I ordered egg tarts with blueberry filling and vanilla sauce. To be honest, are you really not able to prepare two pancakes from scratch? Instead you get 2 from a prepackaged package... and you can actually taste it. Then call up almost 8 €. It was really disappointing... You should work on that.

“Arriving early ensures good (and any) seats” -> Every evening from around 5:30 p.m. there is hardly a seat left. You can't make a reservation, so bring an early dinner or patience to wait. The service is friendly (our waitress was also a bit assertive 😉). Generally quick, drinks were delivered quickly. The food was great, tasted great, very well balanced. We'll come here again in the next few days 😎

The chef knows his craft. Neither the fish nor the meat were fried "dead". Juicy and excellently seasoned. Big praise for the service. Very attentive and super friendly. Price/performance is the best I have experienced here in Zingst. We would love to come back.
