Hans-Jürgen Jakob in Zingst

We had dinner here on our first evening in Zingst and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. The menu is varied and the value for money is also good. We were very satisfied.

I really hoped for more from this restaurant, especially based on the positive reviews. As soon as you put the menu down, someone comes over to order. They get their food and drinks right away. The next guests are standing outside, jostling for a seat. The staff is friendly, though. Unfortunately, they have to deal with impatient customers the whole time. It's disruptive. This is absolute processing. In and out... My husband had just finished his starter when the main course arrived. I had salmon with kohlrabi. The kohlrabi was in such a light, sticky sauce and there was way too much of it. It was definitely a convenience store. The piece of salmon looked like it had come straight from the freezer. It was poorly presented. The clientele there is always changing. They fill their house, but unfortunately, I can't anymore.

We had made a reservation, which isn't possible at every restaurant in Zingst. First, we looked for the restaurant, as we weren't aware that it was located in the beach hotel and wasn't easily recognizable from the outside. The service was fast and attentive. The food arrived promptly, too. It tasted very fine, the meat was very tender, and the other ingredients were perfectly balanced, BUT it was lukewarm, so it soon got cold. When I asked if everything was okay, I told the waitress, and she offered to reheat it, which I declined. There was no other suggestion, even if it had been a complimentary drink or something similar. So, the tip was gone. That shouldn't happen at €29.50. What a shame.

Really delicious food, good service, and a nice atmosphere. But 1 euro for a doggy bag is unacceptable... next time, no tip. We've never experienced that before...

Highly recommended. Great taste and reasonable price.
