Cheap, ugly plastic decor. Aquariums overgrown with algae. Unmotivated service. The food was extremely greasy, the fries tasted of old grease, the cevapcici were rubbery and dripping with grease. The salad was drenched in sauce. Even the license plate on the table was dirty. I can't recommend this to anyone.

The food was very good and the seating was nice in the outdoor lighting.

The meatloaf was tough and very thin, the salad was unimaginative with a mediocre dressing. Only the cream in the dessert pancakes was fresh. The outdoor area was lovely, with lots of flowers, set in a quiet allotment garden.

Not an expensive restaurant, with delicious Balkan food.

Höfle is always worth a detour. Like a little vacation there... Still nice there. Only the beautiful linden tree is cruelly cut.

"Zum Höfle" is one of those places you discover once and then enjoy returning to again and again. I've been a regular guest there for years – whether for a cozy dinner with friends, a relaxed weekend lunch, or simply to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere in good weather. It's an inn with real soul and character, the likes of which are unfortunately rare these days. What immediately catches your eye is the lovingly designed rooms and outdoor area. Everything appears well-kept, down-to-earth, yet with a certain sophistication. The service is always friendly, attentive, and pleasantly unobtrusive – you feel welcome and appreciated, not just brushed off. In terms of cuisine, "Zum Höfle" offers a very balanced menu, including classic dishes as well as seasonal offerings and lovingly curated daily specials. I would particularly like to emphasize, however, that fish is always on the menu – not as a side note, but as an integral part of the culinary concept. The fish dishes are consistently of high quality, imaginatively prepared, and absolutely delicious. Whether grilled, fried, or gently steamed, you can tell that the chefs here work with a great deal of experience and sensitivity. The meat dishes, vegetarian options, and desserts also deserve praise: the ingredients are fresh, the preparation is expertly crafted, and great importance is placed on balance. This isn't about convenience, but rather honest cooking. The portions are more than sufficient, the prices reasonable, and there's a good selection of regional wines and beers. In short: "Zum Höfle" is a place where you'll leave not only full, but truly satisfied. It's a permanent fixture in my culinary calendar in Freiburg—and an unreserved recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food, a warm atmosphere, and consistently high quality. It was our first time there. It wasn't gourmet food, but it was tasty and reasonably priced. We were very satisfied. The location is spectacular, and we asked if we could reserve a table on the terrace when the weather was nicer. You can... It's wonderful. We'll be back, even tomorrow for Father's Day.

Nice restaurant and large beer garden. Parking where you can even park a campervan. The food was delicious, only worthy of a one-star rating. The rice was unfortunately cold, but very tasty. Service was very friendly. We'd be happy to come back.

A nice, quiet spot where you get a good portion of food for a good price... Very friendly and attentive service... And what I find very positive is that you've barely ordered and the food is already on the table... I personally enjoy eating there and can only recommend it... So if you're ever at Mömaxxx on Lörracherstraße in Freiburg, then visit the nearby "Zum Höfle"... I think you won't be disappointed...

It occurred to me that the food wasn't fresh, it tasted very bland.

The taste of the food was okay, but not what we were hoping for from Croatian cuisine. For example, we missed the onions with the ajvar on the grill. Portions were sufficient, everyone was full. Certainly very nice to sit outside in summer.

The Djuvec rice is really great and so are the salads, the radishes are cut in an exciting way, we didn't wait for the food, it was quick, the cutlery and crockery were good, you sit comfortably, the napkins were deluxe, it was inexpensive

The food was good, the meat was excellent. The waiter was at least friendly to children. Otherwise a bit reluctant. No thanks, no requests and no questions about whether it was tasty. Unusual.

We had a pre-registered event here. The food was ok. Everything worked until after the buffet. The waiter was totally overwhelmed. An event with 30 people, plus the guests who came to eat outside. That was definitely too much for a waiter. The man who prepared the drinks disappeared at some point. We then asked everyone around who would like to drink something. Written it down and handed the note to the waiter. A guest at the event then served. That doesn't work at all. Why do you accept such an event as a guest host even though you know that it cannot be managed with the staff? 30 dissatisfied guests who will definitely not come here again.

Food very good, service great, large terrace with lots of plants, great to sit on, just wonderful. The 4 of us will be back. Certainly.

Very nice restaurant, very friendly staff

The outside area is very comfortable to sit in. There is a playground for children, which is very large. If you want to hold a celebration there, have the agreements confirmed in writing beforehand, as things may turn out differently than agreed. Instead of a buffet there was a standard meal for everyone, which was very annoying. The chef took a cigarette break with his cooking gloves on, which he then continued to work with, which I found very disgusting. The food, well... Far from fresh and tasty. We were there for the first and last time.

Quite hidden in an allotment garden but highly recommended! This is our go-to place for dinner every time we visit Freiburg. The food is of top quality. The food is fresh and high quality! The meat is on point and nice and juicy. For children there is a swing and a large lawn within sight. Since the restaurant is located in a garden, it is very quiet and there is no noise or traffic from the city! You sit very nicely and have lots of plants around you, which give the whole thing a cozy atmosphere. The service is very friendly. Highly recommended and again at any time!

Had a bad meal with overly salty soups and tasteless cutlet, bad area, unpleasant staff

Since tastes vary, I don't want to judge this for everyone, but unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. A pity.

Wir haben hier eine kleine Firmenfeier abgehalten und trafen hier auf sehr leckerer Balkanküche! Bei mir gabs vorweg einen Krabbensalat und danach einen Grillteller! Den Salat konnte ich noch fotografieren dann war leider mein Akku leer. Der Grillteller war mit Rumpsteak, Putenfleisch und cevapcici. Das Fleisch sehr lecker und schön saftig! Gute einfache Küche, sehr lecker und Preisgünstig! Der Kellner war zu weilen etwas im Stress, aber trotzdem jederzeit höflich und nett.

Un sitio espectacular, la comida de 10 y el servicio inmejorable. Estuvimos como en casa y esta noche repetimos! El dueño es de Croacia y tuvimos una agradable conversación con él. Muy recomendable!!!

Das essen konnte man draußen in einer schattigen und friedlichen Umgebung genießen. Ein freundlicher Service hat auch nicht gefehlt.

Gastraum nicht genügend geheizt

Wir waren bei unseren ersten Besuchen im Höfle immer relativ begeistert. Die (einzige) Servicekraft macht immer einen etwas unfreundlichen Eindruck, taut dann aber doch irgendwann mal auf. Bei unseren letzten beiden Besuchen blieb die Stimmung bei der Servicekraft dann doch mürrisch. Unsere Getränke und das Essen konnten wir immerhin nach 30 Minuten bestellen. Das Essen war leider auch nur Mittelmäßig, gefühlt lässt es in letzter Zeit immer mehr nach. Wenn man die Servicekraft beobachtet, werden manche Tische mürrisch und kaum bedient, während er bei anderen Tischen auch gerne mal 5 Minuten lachend sich unterhält. Auch der kleine Schnaps zum Abschied bekamen in letzter Zeit auch nur noch manche Tische, konnte man schön beobachten während man vor den leeren Tellern sitzt die nicht abgeräumt werden. Es ist wirklich schade, denn das Höfle liegt wirklich schön in einer Kleingartenanlage. Hinter dem Außenbereich findet sich eine große Wiese mit einigen Spielgeräten für Kinder. Hier können Eltern auch mal in Ruhe Essen, während die Kinder Rutschen oder Schaukeln gehen.

Sehr schön gelegene Gaststätte mit schattiger Außenterasse und tollem Spielplatz für Kinder. Das Essen war eher mittelmäßig. Die Bedienung war leider sehr unflexibel und unfreundlich bzgl. Kinderwünschen. Spagetti und Tomatensauce war nicht möglich, obwohl Nudelgerichte auf der Karte stehen. Für Familie nicht zu empfehlen!
