Zum grünen Hof in Schwetzingen

First of all: We have been going to the Grüner Hof for years (or picking up food to take home) and have always eaten well. But it really went to their heads. Price increases that make your ears flap - with what feels like smaller portions. (The spaetzle is sometimes quite limited and the sauce for the Jägerschnitzel was really little last time. That's why I deducted a star from the meal.) Today I went to the restaurant with my wife at 6 p.m. We were asked for a reservation, which we said no. We were immediately given the impression that we were in a rather inconvenient place. We were directed to a table for two in the far corner, even though there were two tables for four available in the front dining room. We sat back there right next to a larger group with small children, which was very loud. So we went back to the front area and asked if we could have the table for four that was still available. (The other table for four was now occupied by two people who had simply sat down there.) This was refused to us, saying that there were only two of us! Okay, what can I say? I've never in my life experienced being denied a small table for 4 because there were only two of us... One look at the menu gave me the rest and we left. A schnitzel with a side dish and salad (which must be ordered separately) costs EUR 24.40. In my opinion this is definitely over the top. Thanks for nothing! P.S. - a word about the ambience: The restaurant is nice, but the rooms are relatively small and the tables are sometimes very close together and as a result it quickly becomes quite loud. At the larger tables there are often groups talking loudly. Smaller tables are placed right next to them - not even a meter of space between them. There is definitely no feel-good atmosphere for me!

Very comfortable and well attended. Service very friendly. food was great!! Had to wait a bit for it. But it was worth it. I had the Swabian pan and it was excellent and very good! Add Pinot Noir after work. Perfect

For the first and last time... because of Our visit to this beer garden was our first time on holiday at our local pub. It's beautiful here too. But disillusionment set in quickly: long waiting times for food and drinks. Reordering drinks was very difficult because the service staff was completely overwhelmed and some of them didn't really speak German. Drinks and food from the kitchen could not be assigned to any table; requests were made more or less table by table. And we weren't alone in this. At one table they refused to accept the drinks due to the long waiting time and left, the food at another neighboring table was completely forgotten, and after complaining, no one came to pay for the drinks. Since the service staff are actually the wrong people to contact for feedback regarding customer (dis)satisfaction, we asked to speak to the manager of the restaurant, who, we were told, was on vacation. You can believe it, but you don't have to... The food was good, but the service was an absolute disaster. My recommendation: if you want to really spoil an otherwise lovely evening, this is the place for you...

Excellent food at reasonable prices. Very nice beer garden.

We sat in the beer garden for 2 hours. The drinks were brought to the table quite quickly. The other drinks order was also brought quickly. After 2 hours we asked where our order was (2x sausage salad with fries). We got the answer that the receipt hadn't arrived in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the service didn't notice that we didn't have our food yet. The kitchen closed at 9 p.m. There was no apology from the boss. When we arrived we were told it would take about 1 hour. It will take a while until we get the food. The person sitting next to us felt the same way

Service is catastrophic. 1 operation for the entire outdoor area. Were sent away from a table, like many others. It was still empty 2.5 hours later. Waited well over an hour for the food, at the time we ordered there were about 10 or 12 people in the beer garden. Had to wait a good 20 minutes for the drinks. The plates then stood empty in front of us until we paid and left. We had to ask to pay several times and then an annoyed bartender arrived. The ambience is nice but that's about it.

Wir wollten einen schönen Abend im Biergarten haben. Preise sind okay. Der Service leider enttäuschend. Wir wollten noch Getränke bestellen, die leider nicht mehr zu kaufen waren. Wir wollten noch bestellen, jedoch waren weitere Bestellungen schwierig. Wir hatten nicht das Gefühl, dass man daran interessiert ist, dass der Kunde zufrieden ist und Getränke angeboten bekommt.

Overall nice. The service was very warm but unfortunately completely overwhelmed. So there was a very long wait and I ended up ordering at the bar myself. But the ambience in the beautiful beer garden made it bearable.

Great big portions and really tasty. Beer garden is very large. At the public viewing of the European Championships, the beer garden was full of food and the service unfortunately took a long time, but it was still worth it. Cash only!! Maybe the system should be converted to EC these days.

We went there for dinner for the first time on Saturday. Ambience super nice. The waiting time for the food was 1 1/2, although there was a very manageable number of guests. Drinks were forgotten twice, even though the lady went to the bar straight after ordering. When it's over 30 degrees that's not good service if you don't have anything to drink. Unfortunately, the meat was very, very dry. Rest of the food was delicious. Unfortunately, you had to ask several times to pay, even though the waiter was standing behind the bar and had nothing to do.

Super nice beer garden, the schnitzel and cordon bleu are highly recommended.

Traditional German cuisine. Perfectly cooked steak. The fried potatoes are a little too salty for my taste, but I like my food under-salted.

Food absolutely delicious. Service, well, I can only agree. One for the entire restaurant - let's just say it worked. However, the service is not the friendliest. She then noticed that when she tipped. Otherwise the restaurant is recommended.

Dad's meal was really tasty and the price/performance ratio was also right. There was only one condition for the beer garden but it really made it great. Always on the ball and friendly with a smile on his face. The starter is more than enough for one person and the main course is also the right size. I can only recommend the Grüner Hof and we will definitely come back.

It is unbelievable how ignorant the operator of this very beautiful beer garden is in ignoring his guests' comments about the poor service. I've been going to this beer garden for several years now, always hoping that maybe something has improved. But even after the pandemic, unfortunately nothing has changed in terms of operation. A very slow operator who probably never learned the job. She runs back to the bar with two empty glasses even though at least 5 tables have to be cleared. Since no order had been taken after 10 minutes, we ordered our drinks directly at the bar. When she brought the drinks to our table, we wanted to order the food. But she had no time for us and quickly left. Incredible!!! The food wasn't eaten until 10 minutes later. And all of this even though the beer garden was only 2/3 full. I wonder what the operators do when the beer garden is full? Unfortunately, I no longer have any recommendations as this situation has not been improved for years. Apparently the operator doesn't care how quickly his guests are served. And that doesn't work at all. Normally you come to the beer garden hungry and even more thirsty and eagerly awaiting your first sip. The problem would be solved quickly: replace the control and/or set a second control. But that costs money! A beer garden depends on the service. The food should be good, but you don't expect 5-star food in a beer garden, so the food wasn't bad, which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1. Unfortunately you can't pay by card here either. A no go these days. I think it's a real shame that such a beautiful beer garden isn't run properly.

I ate the Swabian pan and the grilled pepperoni as a starter. The Swabian pan tasted great and the grilled pepperoni was sensational. Better than my favorite Greek restaurant. The service was friendly and quick. The portions are so big that everyone will be satisfied. The ambience is great and the location too. Highly recommended, we will be back.

The schnitzel portions are huge. And extremely tasty. Plus sensationally low prices. The service is very friendly, but there is room for improvement in terms of drinks replenishment. This may have been because the outdoor dining area was also well attended. The drinks were perfectly chilled. The ambience is rustic and fits in well with home-style cooking.

The ambience was great. But the waiting time was enormous. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for the food. I had a schnitzel and my wife had a salad with strips of turkey breast. The schnitzel wasn't so unique that you had to wait more than an hour for it. The salad even less so. And the fact that card payments aren't possible isn't great either

The food was super good, the service and the boss were very friendly, everything worked out wonderfully, and the price was also right. What really scared me a bit was going to the toilet, they were clean, but there was a smell like a sewage basin. I really hope it doesn't last forever. Despite the smell, everything else is really recommended.

Essen war gut aber 40min bis das Getränk da war, keine Nachfrage ob man noch was trinken will und ewig bis das Essen kommt. Nach 1h 45min kam erst das Essen. Ständig war irgendwas aus. Keine Kroketten mehr, keine Leberknödel mehr, keine Rahmsuace mehr….

Essen und Ambiente sehr gut. Service leider nicht aufmerksam genug. Getränke standen sehr lange leer auf dem Tisch. Dass im Jahr 2023 noch immer keine Kartenzahlung möglich ist, ist nicht zu fassen.

Heute das 1. Mal Martinsgans bestellt zum Abholen. Pünktlich fertig. Beste Martinsgans die wir jemals hatten. TOPP.

Schöne Gestaltung als " Bauernstub" mit viel hellem Holz - richtig uhrig. Sehr gutes Essen, reichlich - gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis! Wir kommen wieder!

Wir waren nun schon sehr häufig hier im Grünen Hof und wir kommen immer und immer gerne wieder! Ja, es stimmt, man muss hier etwas Wartezeit mitbringen, wenn man zu den Stoßzeiten zum Essen kommt. Allerdings muss man eben einfach zugeben, dass sich die Wartezeit absolut lohnt. Der Grüne Hof ist eine der ganz wenigen Gaststätten, die immernoch verstehen, dass beim Essen beides stimmen muss: Qualität und Portion! Und beides ist hier wirklich fantastisch, auch für einen ausgewachsenen 90kg Mann, der mit richtigem Hunger an den Start geht und hochwertige deutsche Küche erwartet. Was hier über den Service geschrieben wurde, kann ich nicht bestätigen. Das muss ein Ausreißer bzw. eine besondere Situation gewesen sein. Chef, Köchin und Personal sind zu uns immer extrem nett und aufmerksam, selbst wenn die Bude gerammelt voll ist.

Alles super. Man muss nur etwas länger warten auf die Getränke 😜

Wir (2 Paare) hatten am Freitag für 18.30h einen Tischbestellt. Beide Frauen gingen zuerst ins Restaurant und wir suchten einen Parkplatz. Als wir ca. 8 Min. später ankamen, hatte beide Frauen bereits ihre Getränke und hatten eine Getränkebestellung für uns aufgegeben. Seit der Bestellung sah man keine Bedienung mehr. Zwischenzeitlich kamen 2 Männer und warteten vor der Theke, aber niemand kam. Nach ca. 10 Min. gingen sie unverrichteter Dingen wieder weg. Nach ca. 15 Min. kam ein Angestellter hinter die Theke. Meine Frau ging zu ihm, um zu fragen, wann die Getränke kämen. Leider verstand der junge Mann fast kein Deutsch. Daraufhin haben wir uns entschlossen wieder zu gehen. Wir legten das Geld für die beiden Getränke der Frauen auf den Tisch und gingen. An der Tür kam dann doch die Bedienung und fragte, warum wir gingen? wir fragten, wann die Getränke kämen? Als Antwort kam dann, oh habe ich vergessen!!!! Obwohl sie die Bestellung aufgeschrieben hatte. Wir haben ja Verständnis für den Personalmangel in der Gastro, aber wenn man zu wenig Personal hat, darf man nicht noch einen großen Biergarten aufmachen. Und aufschreiben und vergessen ist ein NoGo. Der Service war unterirdisch. Nie wieder. Das Essen können wir leider nicht kommentieren, da wir nichts gegessen haben.

Hat zwar lange gedauert, war aber sehr lecker. Perfektes Rumpsteak.

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, die Bedienung freundlich, Aber: die Vorspeise wurde vergessen, als die Hauptspeise nach 1 Stunde vom Chef gebracht wurde, hat er das Besteck vergessen und auch nicht mehr gebracht... wir haben dann Gabeln von einem Nachbartisch geholt. Als wir fertig waren, brachte er die Vorspeise, wieder ohne Besteck. Die Bedienung hat es uns dann später gebracht. Alles in allem, wer Geduld und Zeit mitbringt und wem die Reihenfolge der Speisabläufe egal ist, der bekommt hier in schöner Atmosphäre auch ein leckeres Essen.

Das Essen ist einfach nur super lecker.

Servus, bester Biergarten außerhalb von Bayern und kann locker mit denen mithalten bzw. auch übertreffen!

Personal erfreulich freundlich und gut orientiert. Biergarten mit großen Schirmen, man ist bei Regen gut geschützt. Speisen angenehm fürs Auge serviert und auch noch sehr lecker. So macht der Aufenthalt Spaß und ist ein gutes Trinkgeld wert.

Aufgrund unseres Urlaubs haben wir die Gaststätte besucht. Der Hof hatte erst aufgemacht, es war also kaum was los. Auf Anfrage gab's für unseren Hund ein Sitzkissen vom Stuhl und einen Getränkenapf. Die Vorspeise (warme Peperoni mit Dipp und Baguette) war nur zum Teil erfreulich: Dipp und Peperoni waren reichlich und lecker, dass Baguette wiederum war leider "alt", trocken und aufgewärmt. Die Hauptgänge dagegen - Cordon Blue mit Bratkartoffeln und Schnitzel Elsässer Art mit Pommes - waren dagegen sehr lecker. Kroketten waren leider schon nicht mehr vorhanden, sodass ich auf Pommes umsteigen musste. Die Kasse hat am Ende auch gesponnen, sodass wir der Kellnerin beim Rechnen helfen mussten. Alles in Einem können wir das Lokal weiterempfehlen, denn man(n) wird auf jeden Fall satt und hat gute Qualität dabei.

Ehrliches Essen zu fairen Preisen. Der Service ist auch immer gut. Hat meine absolute Empfehlung. Alternative zum doch deutlich teureren Schlossplatz. Der Biergarten ist auch sehr idyllisch. Leider keine Kartenzahlung, dennoch aber mit Kassenbon. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Unfassbar unfreundliches Pesonal (oder war es der Chef?). Wurden zur "Begrüßung" angeblafft und sind direkt wieder gegangen.

Wir haben zwei Abende im "Zum grünen Hof" verbracht und waren ganz begeistert. Das Essen schmeckte wunderbar und das Personal, besonders Jessi und Olli waren sehr gastnah und aufmerksam. Wir bedanken uns für zwei schöne Abende im kleinen beschaulichen Schwetzingen.
