The food was fantastic, but the service was extremely unfriendly. Very condescending, easily annoyed, and felt the need to comment inappropriately on every request. Zero hospitality. I've never felt so bad at a Christmas party!

The food didn't meet my expectations at all. Neither the taste nor the way it was served (lukewarm) was satisfactory. The waiter was friendly, and the atmosphere was okay. However, I won't be eating there again.

The only restaurant that made us visit again during our multi-day stay in Schwetzingen. And that's despite the fact that we had delicious meals at all the others and gave it 5 stars. Exceptionally friendly staff. I wish I could always be served so nicely. The food was delicious every time. Our special requests were no problem at all. The wait time was reasonable, even though it was quite busy. If we ever come back, we'd gladly go back. Thank you very much.

SCAMMED - I get back to my hotel and I see my charge is 99$ for ONE person. I came here earlier in the week with someone else ordered the same thing and also paid for my friend and it was $112. The lady took advantage of my lack of German speaking at the end. I literally got a schnitzel. Tap water, and a juice. In other words, be aware if you’re not a German speaker.

The service was super friendly and personable. The restaurant was very busy, which meant we had to accept a long wait, but that was perfectly acceptable. The food could have tasted better, but it was filling and OK.

It was our first and, unfortunately, our last time there. It wasn't busy, but everything took forever (a 2.5-hour wait for two drinks and two meals), and the service was extremely poor. Our waitress, Eva, was simply unhappy; she radiated it and made it clear to us guests. But these days, you're lucky to have any staff at all. The food was OK, but not good. Two neighboring tables also complained during our stay.

Two of us were there on a Saturday evening and really wanted to try their grilled chicken. We saw it on the menu and it immediately appealed to us because we're currently on a bit of a diet and wanted something healthy. We ordered a whole chicken (for two people) with BBQ marinade, a green salad, and some baguette. The food was incredibly delicious, the portion was really large and generous, and the BBQ sauce was not too sweet or too smoky—just the way I like it! The salad was fresh, and the baguette was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We had an Aperol Spritz and a Lillet Berries to drink—both were really good. I thought the frozen berries in the Lillet were particularly cool; I fished them out after finishing my drink. The server was very professional, attentive, and super friendly. We'll definitely be back!

We visited the restaurant in June on a hot day. The waiter served us very efficiently and politely, and promptly served us cold drinks (including a delicious 0% alcohol beer). The dishes were served just as quickly. I ordered a veggie burger, which was delicious! I think the restaurant deserves higher ratings because it's truly worth a visit. No complaints, everything was positive. Prices were reasonable.

The food arrived before our drinks, which unfortunately took a very long time to arrive. The fries and Maultaschen (ravioli) were only lukewarm. The food was okay, but not good value for money; it was too expensive for what you get. The staff was friendly, but when we asked the next table why the schnitzel was deep-fried and not fried, the waiter replied that, unfortunately, quantity has to take precedence over quality due to the high number of customers. Also a shame...

Cool location with cool people serving. A bit bumpy and confusing at first with the distribution of the side salads. The main course itself (in my case, schnitzel) was great, and the service and drinks were also very good.

We've eaten here several times recently and have always been satisfied. The food is delicious, and most importantly, they accommodate special requests, such as without onions or similar—no problem. The service is friendly, and the kitchen delivers at no extra charge! The fact that a pork schnitzel costs as much as a veal schnitzel did a few years ago is probably due to the general pricing policy. It's certainly not the minimum wage that's to blame here, because the service is absolutely friendly. We'd be happy to come back anytime.😋

Very friendly staff, and we were served quickly. The food was beautifully presented, and I was truly delighted. Simply enjoying a cold drink after a bike ride was great. We were also very impressed by the interior design. I've always been to the brewery and coffee house before. But this is also a lovely place in Schwetzingen!

A cozy inn on Schlossplatz with a sun terrace. Generous, tasty portions – the schnitzel is particularly impressive. Friendly service, beer specialties, and a unique service robot. Highly recommended!

A gem of the Palatinate region. Super friendly service, great food (the Maultaschen are a classic treat), draft beer in pre-chilled steins (that alone is worth the trip), and a quaint restaurant. Highly recommended!

A truly wonderful and cohesive place! I can't remember being as enthusiastic about a schnitzel as I was here. If you're in the area, you should go! Not just for the fantastic food, but also for the cozy atmosphere and exceptional service. What a lucky find!

Seldom eaten so badly. The Röstel was a meat and potato mash in a burnt tasting broth with bad cheese gratinated. My wife's fried potatoes were also more mush than fried potatoes and the sausages had probably been reheated several times. We won't be coming back.

The food was once again a disaster. I don't like going to this restaurant, but my husband persuaded me again, he likes to eat half the chicken there, which was fine. I ordered a pancake with asparagus and hollandaise. The dish looked delicious and very nicely prepared. Unfortunately the sauce and asparagus were cold, I don't mean lukewarm. As if you simply poured the sauce from the tetra pack over it without heating it. I complained and got the plate back after 5 minutes, unfortunately nothing had changed. I then gave the entire meal back. I don't understand what's going on in the kitchen. The waiter was very nice, I got a schnapps on the house, but unfortunately I left the restaurant hungry. I still can't recommend this restaurant.

Today we waited at the table for almost 45 minutes without being served. The service staff looked at us several times but showed no reaction. Unfortunately we were consistently ignored, which made the visit overall very disappointing.

We celebrated our wedding on April 11th in a small circle and chose the Green Tree. I actually really enjoy visiting this restaurant, but this time I was completely disappointed. We were a group of four people and had already been guests the evening before. That day, we asked for an extra chair to place our valuables on - but the waiter in charge refused us this, even though the outdoor area where we sat was almost empty. In addition, the waiter noticed that one of our companions was carrying an empty water bottle. Without warning, we were then spoken to in an aggressive tone, saying that something like this would not be tolerated and that we were unwelcome in this situation. Although we explained that it was just an empty bottle that we wanted to put in our bag anyway, the waiter remained unfriendly and showed no signs of understanding in his behavior. It almost seemed as if he was deliberately pushing us out. I had the impression that the employee may have had a problem with our nationality. To the operator: Please take this matter into account and train this employee in politeness and hospitality - otherwise you could face a noticeable loss of sales in the long term. (Visit on April 11, 2025 around 4 p.m.) We left the restaurant immediately after this experience.

Perhaps the chef has changed here. The Gröstl served there has absolutely nothing to do with the original. It's more of a bland and overly salty soup with pulled pork and a fried egg.

My schnitzel sauce looked like jam and didn't taste particularly good. Unfortunately, the food was lukewarm. But the service was excellent. They even brought the food to the table with robots.

Almost all of the staff are friendly, fast, attentive and very professional. The food is okay. The Swiss sausage salad, the fried chicken and the burger are recommended. There are fewer Brauer Gröstl, Paprikaschnitzel and Maultaschen. The prices are quite high, but they still roughly correspond to the combination of top location, good service and at least some good quality food.

We ate at the Grüne Baum in Schwetzingen for the first time, it was very crowded and loud! So probably nothing will work without a reservation. It is comfortably furnished and clean. However, the meal took three quarters of an hour and was lukewarm, which wasn't great! The parking situation is bad... so drive into the underground car park just around the corner. Price performance is okay.

Awful service. The waiter was ironic and not helpful at all. The brought out order after 30 minutes( just tea and coffee) and after we told them that they were late. They told us that they will not charge it but in the end they told us that they will......

The staff was rather rude, not wanting to clean the table that was used before, we had a 30+ minute delay and we were promised a refund but in the end they sent 2 different waiters and we had to pay the full price even if we were promised otherwise Other than that a basic tourist shop.

Als Tagesempfehlung hatten wir Röstis mit Dips und Salatgarnitur bestellt. Serviert wurden anstatt drei Kartoffelpuffer, industriell hergestellt. Sahen aus wie TK. Zu diesem Preis muesste man liefern... Der Kellner war unfreundlich. Schade, das Lokal ist schoen eingerichtet und gemütlich.

Very good food in a loving and well-coordinated atmosphere. Were received a very warm welcome and excellent service. Even when something went wrong, it was handled perfectly and apologized for it multiple times. Every restaurateur can learn a lot here.

We were indoors with a larger group. The guest room is very comfortably furnished. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the salads on the salad plate that I chose were not fresh, but ready-made salads. That's better, especially at a price of 18 euros. There used to be exceptionally good salad creations made with fresh ingredients here. But since the other dishes (currywurst, various schnitzels) were tasty, my overall rating is still good.

My wife and I visited your restaurant "Zum Grünen Baum" to spend a pleasant evening after a busy day. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing, which is why we are now contacting you with this complaint. When we arrived we had to wait about five minutes before a service staff even noticed us. We were then wordlessly signaled with a hand signal that we could sit down somewhere. After another 20 minutes we were finally handed the menu. The wait for our drinks was about 10 minutes, and we even had to wait a whole hour for our food - even though there were only six tables occupied. We ordered two turkey schnitzels with fried potatoes, which also included a side salad. When the food was finally served, we discovered that the schnitzels were badly burnt. When we asked the waitress about it, she responded indifferently and simply said that she couldn't control every meal. There was no apology or offer of compensation, for example in the form of a free espresso or a scoop of ice cream. Instead we were ignored by the waitress. When paying, we expressed our disappointment and said that we would no longer be visiting the restaurant. Instead of responding to our criticism, we received the rude answer: "You don't have to come to us, we don't depend on you!" This disrespectful statement from a young waitress (approx. 25-28 years old) towards paying guests is unacceptable to us. In our opinion, dealing with guests in this way, especially with regard to service quality and customer friendliness, is unacceptable. We expect from a good restaurant not only high-quality food, but also appropriate service that values ​​the guest. We ask you to take our complaint seriously and hope that you will take appropriate measures to improve the service and quality in your restaurant.

Spontaneous visit during the Christmas market. This restaurant really picked us up - super nice welcome, friendly and non-intrusive service. The beer tastes excellent, the food is very tasty and more than enough. Great! But why this exorbitant price level? I would have expected that in HD... but not in Schwetzingen...

It takes too long for the drinks to be served. When the glasses are empty, too little attention is paid to repeat orders. There were four of us and none of us really liked it. Two had diarrhea afterwards. We also try other restaurants in Schwetzingen, this one was the worst so far.

There is a male waitress in the restaurant (I don't know his name - short blonde hair). He didn't exactly eat his friendliness towards customers with a spoon. I've eaten there several times. The same every time. Today I was really getting on my nerves with his stupid comments and eye rolling when I asked for something special. That's why you just had to get the rating out now.

Das Essen war gut bürgerlich und hat uns gut geschmeckt. Der Service war sehr freundlich, aber leider etwas langsam – ich hätte gerne noch ein zweites Getränk bestellt, aber es kam niemand mehr vorbei. Es waren allerdings nur zwei Personen im Service, was vielleicht die längeren Wartezeiten erklärt. Wir hatten leider das Pech, neben einem sehr lauten Tisch zu sitzen, was den Abend etwas beeinträchtigt hat. Dafür kann das Restaurant aber natürlich nichts. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war in Ordnung. Insgesamt ein solider Besuch mit leckerem Essen, aber beim Service gibt es noch Luft nach oben.

Nice place where to spend sometime to have a dinner. They have also a nice robot bringing the food into the main room, that could be nice to see for kids. The people working there were really nice. The food was good.

All is well in the tree of life. Kurpfalzbräu, €5 per 0.5l, without fault. The food, farmer's schnitzel, very tasty, about €21. The location is also ideal, although less visible in the dark season.

We used to go there more often. Generally always very tasty, but the prices for salads have now risen too much. What a shame! But when meat dishes are cheaper than a simple salad, the pricing doesn't make sense. Maybe we'll reconsider this.

This is not the fault of the “Zum Grünen Baum” restaurant. Today we are losing more and more good restaurants (high prices and taxes force restaurants to lower quality). But in the photo you see the same dish. Two years ago it was incredibly tender deer meat, the taste of which we still remember today. And today it's fatty pieces of meat that taste like hastily prepared chicken. It's really a shame. I hope that one day this restaurant will return to its former level.

Very nice, central location, close to the castle, with an outdoor area under large umbrellas, inside a cozy mix of brewery and pub. Staff very attentive and friendly. In addition to the friendly, human service, there is also "Bella", a shapely, self-driving robot girl (also with a friendly face) who transports ordered dishes directly to the right table - very original highlight :-) The menu is very diverse and the food is very tasty and the portion size is just right. However, the wooden chairs are a bit very hard, so even the seat cushion on them doesn't help. But other chairs would be a breach of style, so just get up and go to the toilet or out the door if things get too bad ;-) We had a great evening here and would love to come back!

Everyone who has been there knows that the Schlossplatz is beautiful. You can sit outside very well here and the menu has a good selection. The schnitzels were very tasty, as were the salad and pepperoni as a starter. The other dishes we saw on the neighboring tables all looked very appealing. I really liked the selection of drinks and was thrilled with the raspberry lemonade. What absolutely needs to be emphasized is the great service. We were served very well all evening! Absolutely recommended.
