Plenty of food, very good service, highly recommended, would gladly come again.

A nice restaurant. The food was okay, but nothing special. The staff was very friendly. One negative point I noticed was a young woman (perhaps a trainee) with long, flowing hair working in the dining area.

The worst pork loin I've ever eaten, if that's even what it was. It was chewed like an old shoe sole 🤮 The plate that arrived with a handful of potato dumplings looked like something from a fourth-rate cafeteria: no garnish, a spoonful of sauce, and three cloves of garlic. Tasteless and overpriced.

I would have liked to add a bit more flavor to the vegetarian pizza with some olive and chili oil. The currywurst with fries was good. The sausage salad with fries was also well-received. It's become quite common in restaurants these days to carry the kitchen smells home on your clothes—and this was no exception. Until now, I only knew the Blaue Loch as a beer garden. There are several dining rooms, each with its own level of coziness. Many paintings by the Schwetzingen artist Friedrich adorn the walls, and these are also available for purchase. The staff are friendly, however, the digital order forms seem to somewhat hinder communication between guests and servers—typing on the screen seems to require a fair amount of concentration.

The blue hole is simply the blue hole. I went there again after many years and my high school graduation. I loved it. Friendly service, prices were reasonable, and everything you needed was there. The food was delicious, too. Of course, parking in front of the door is a blessing, but that doesn't matter. EC/credit card payments are accepted.

If you can sit in the beer garden there, I'll put up with a lot, even the unfortunate parking situation. The food is mediocre, the price is bearable, and the service could benefit from a smile. The opening hours until 10:00 PM (during the week) and the "last round" ringing at 9:20 PM also don't make for a cozy evening. The place is definitely not my favorite.

In short...I'll be back. Enjoyed a delicious meal in a beautiful beer garden. Unfortunately, two of the three waiters around us seemed rather annoyed. If they even managed a small smile, I'd be happy to give them full marks.

Absolutely! Lovely atmosphere, especially outside. The trees in the beer garden provide plenty of shade, ideal for hot days.

We were here with friends and had a truly lovely evening. The beer garden is super cozy – and wheelchair accessible. The food: delicious! The service: friendly, fast, and pleasantly uncomplicated. Prices? Reasonable – you don't pay with your kidney or your firstborn, but rather with a relaxed card. Summary: We went home full, satisfied, and with a smile. 🍻🥂 My schnitzel with a twist (chanterelle sauce) lived up to its name – so good that I briefly considered licking the plate. But then I decided not to… after all, you want to be able to come back. 😉

Anyone who wants to visit this restaurant needs patience, lots of patience. After waiting 29 minutes for service, and they still didn't arrive, we left. The service was sub-standard and extremely rushed. At nearby restaurants, service is immediate. There were four of us at table 63, around 7 p.m., until 7:29 p.m. According to the noticeboard, the menu was impressive. So, if you want to eat there, we wish you good luck with your order.

Top beer garden recommendation, very attentive and on the ball staff, good food and excellent value for money. Keep it up. They could use a bit more lighting later in the evening.

This place needs a proper cleaning.

The lack of service is unbeatable! Inflexible and unfriendly! I wanted to buy a €75 gift voucher for friends. Since I live several hundred kilometers away, I asked if it would be possible to send it by mail or email after prepayment (I offered all payment options!), since I couldn't come in person. Despite repeated phone requests, this was categorically refused. If it were possible, I would give it negative stars.

The beer garden is nice and shady, and you should stop by for a beer. The food isn't recommended. It's greasy and made with ready-made sauces, and the service is lacking in love.

The "Blaues Loch" inn has a somewhat alternative feel, but the beer garden definitely has its charm. I really enjoyed the "Bratwurst" (bratwurst). The vegetarian "Greek tarte flambée" was also very decent. I found the "large mixed salad" only quite decent.

Wir waren mit 7 Leuten da. Die Location, auch bei heißen Temperaturen, einfach top, durch den grandiosen Schatten der Bäume. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Speisen sahen gut aus und waren lecker. Wir werden über Sommer, diesen hübschen Biergarten sicher noch öfter aufsuchen.

A very nice, inviting beer garden, a place where you can really feel at home. Extensive menu with moderate prices. The dishes are very well prepared and plentiful. Attentive, friendly staff.

I had booked lunch for a large celebration (47 people). A preliminary discussion with the owner was held. Five days before the celebration, a detailed email with a seating plan was sent; I particularly emphasized that there had to be three long tables in the front room of the adjacent room. (I sent the host's original drawing from the preliminary meeting, and the desired change was clearly noted.) On the day of the celebration itself, I discovered that the tables had been arranged differently. A very unfriendly argument with the host, who wanted to impose "his" seating arrangement. A champagne reception was planned on the terrace, but was only set up shortly beforehand. Newly arriving guests were barely noticed and consequently served! A cover charge of €2.00 per person was charged for the meal. The setting included a paper centerpiece and corresponding paper napkins, a knife and fork (once, despite the appetizer), a wine glass and a water glass each, and a candlestick. I brought floral arrangements, a menu, and place cards. I can't fathom what the cover charge was for! The tables were already being cleared while the last guests were leaving! Payment was taken immediately to a server; no host asked if everything was satisfactory—no one was seen! Conclusion: Never again will we have a party at this location! The only thing that was friendly was the service!

During a joint visit to a restaurant, a glass fell to the floor as a colleague walked past one of our tables. The restaurant manager then silently placed a broom and dustpan in front of our dark-skinned colleague – expecting him to clean up the broken glass himself. When I asked whether guests were generally expected to clean up after themselves, the restaurant manager replied that the young man had knocked over the glass himself and could therefore clean it up. At the same time, he added that he wouldn't expect such a thing from me. This kind of treatment of guests raises questions about equal treatment and the understanding of service. A repeat visit is out of the question for us.

Zuerst das Positive : Ein schöner Biergarten und nettes Personal , Preise moderat Nun das Negative : Das Essen !!! Es wurde alles in der Fritteuse gegart : Schnitzel, Fischfilet , Pommes , Garnelenspieß , etc. alles wird frittiert . Dann diese Fertigsauce ! Champions keinesfalls frisch ! Der Salatteller war auf einem viel zu kleinen Teller angerichtet ! Obenauf der Garnelenspieẞ ! Schwierig zu essen ! Dazu braucht man wirklich keine Kochkünste zu besitzen ! Das Servicepersonal war zwar freundlich , aber leider sehr unaufmerksam ! Niemand von uns ( 10 Personen) wurde nach dem Essen nach Dessert , Espresso oder weiteren Getränken gefragt ! Das war nicht immer so . Wir haben das „ Blaue Loch „ in den letzten Jahren schon öfter besucht und auch empfohlen . Aber dieses Mal war es leider gar nichts ! Auch die Toilette ist in einem katastrophalen Zustand und müsste dringend renoviert werden ! Die Hygiene und Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig ! Wir waren nach unserem Besuch im „ Blauen Loch „ dieses Mal rundum enttäuscht !

Probably the worst Jägerschnitzel I've eaten in a long time. Absolutely not good. Certainly frozen parts. 2 pieces at an overpriced price. 2 euros more because it came with gravy in which 4 campuses were thrown in. 2 schnitzels just as bad as the Viennese schnitzel with fries. The location is good, but also the outside terrace at the entrance has a lot of building materials and that's not possible Looks neglected.

Very nice staff, the outdoor area is great, it is barrier-free (including toilet), good food and the price is also right. It is NOT a HOTEL!!!!!!!!

The food in the restaurant is good. It's served quickly. However, you have to hunt for the waiter afterward, and requests for payment weren't answered until after repeated requests. I can't comment on the rooms.

I've known about the Blue Hole for ages. Today we were in the beer garden in bright sunshine. And I have to say, unfortunately it has dropped a lot from what it used to be. The beer garden was quite messy. I have to say about the food; you could taste the ready meals. My husband had the paprika schnitzel with fat-soaked breading, soggy fries and a sugary sauce. I had a cheeseburger that still talks to me hours later. As always, the staff was extremely attentive and very friendly.

Sehr schöner Biergarten. Die Weinschorle wurde mit stillem Wasser gemischt und schmeckte daher nach Plörre. Das einzige vegane Gericht auf der Karte sah aus wie Kantineneintopf und schmeckte auch so. Jedoch war die Bedienung sehr freundlich und bemüht.

We, a couple from Schwetzingen, went on a shopping spree through Schwetzingen today and passed the Blue Hole! The owner was just repairing something on his “building roof”, we watched his efforts with interest for a while and apparently Mr. Münch was so happy to be able to get off the scaffolding unscathed that he spontaneously asked us if he invited us for a drink...surprised but very pleased, we accepted the invitation and drank two delicious 🍻 on the house! Thank you very much for this and see you next time in the most rustic beer garden in Schwetzingen, which we have visited several times before!

The blue hole in Schwetzingen is simply cult and was my first stop when I was in Schwetzingen again after 5 years. It's great that it's a location with existing properties and not constantly changing owners and themes. The blue hole is just the blue hole. That was the case over twenty years ago, and hopefully it will remain that way for at least that long.

Very tasty food, visually appealing too. Huge beer garden and great atmosphere. When you enter the restaurant through the front it seems a bit run down at first, but it's worth it. We ordered the Hans Hirsch plate and the baked feta cheese.

Today we ate outside in the "blue hole". I was very excited about the Oriental Salad. I ordered it without feta. Delicious. The fries I got with it were also well salted and crispy. The service was friendly, but a woman next to us left because after about 30 minutes no one had taken her order. Things went faster for us. But last time we waited a long time to pay. But the outside area is really beautiful and invites you to linger. It's a good place to sit down and just talk and have a drink. Very nice here and prices okay. Vegetarians will also find something to eat here (there is at least a rice dish on the menu for vegans).

Wir haben heute im "blauen Loch" draußen gegessen. Ich war sehr begeistert vom Oriental Salat. Ich habe ihn ohne Feta bestellt. Sehr lecker. Auch die Pommes die ich mir dazu geholt habe waren gut gesalzen und knusprig. Der Service war freundlich jedoch ist eine Frau neben uns wieder gegangen weil nach ca 30 min immernoch keiner ihre Bestellung aufgenommen hatte. Bei uns ging es schneller. Aber haben beim letzten mal auch lang gewartet aufs zahlen. Aber der außen Bereich ist echt schön und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Man kann sich hier gut hinsetzen auch einfach zum Reden und bissl was trinken. Sehr schön hier und Preise okay. Auch Vegetarier finden hier etwas für Veganer immerhin ein Reisgericht auf der Karte.

Nice service, fair prices and the quality is also good

We had dinner there in the afternoon before the opera gala in July 2024. The reservation for the garden was made over the phone and was completely uncomplicated. Clever solution: At the entrance to the garden there are 2 large boards with the time, name and table number so that you know where you are sitting and so you don't have to wait for service. Service very young, friendly and sometimes a bit chaotic. You sit beautifully in an enchanted garden with beautiful decorative elements. You can also buy antiques there! The food wasn't great, but it was solid and the portions were sufficient. The beer is tasty and ice cold, as it should be at 35 degrees. I would come back any time!

My brother celebrated his wedding here and it was beautiful. Everything was really amazing and the staff was really forthcoming friendly and flexible, even making it possible to extend the reservation for another hour into the night. 10/10 would celebrate here again

We had a wonderful celebration in the Johann Welde Hall with terrace. Everything was very atmospheric and the hall is decorated in Art Nouveau style. You have the feeling of sitting right in the castle. The terrace can also be reached from the beer garden and is beautifully and lovingly covered with plants. The service and the food were top. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the landlord is an excellent and likeable person who plans everything carefully and without tension. The food was very fresh and delicious. We would also host other celebrations here. Whether it's a birthday, wedding, confirmation or baptism, it's a great location!

We had a wonderful celebration in the ballroom. The friendliness, service and the entire restaurant gave us a valuable, beautiful and good memory.

We were there for the first time with our relatives. The food was very, very tasty. The conditions, whether male or female, were very, very friendly. As soon as a glass was empty you were asked if you wanted anything else, which I personally think is great. I can only recommend the restaurant because it doesn't matter if you drive for over half an hour. We will come back in any case. 😋

I loved this place. Somewhat of a hidden gem- especially when you enter through the front. The beer garden is the bomb! Food is ok- not great. But I am a sucker for a great atmosphere. I would come back any time! The place has charm, even if it is a bit worn.

Im März diesen Jahres erfuhren wir, dass wohl ein neuer Koch im Restaurant sei. Wir dachten, probieren wir es aus. Unsere Familie war dort zum Mittagessen. Es war ein tolles, aha Erlebnis: Vorspeisen und Gerichte waren nicht nur appetitlich angerichtet, sie waren ein toller Gaumenschmaus. Durch eine Verwechslung in der Küche erhielt ich zuerst einen falschen Grillteller. Ich merkte es jedoch nicht und probierte und war total begeistert. Als ich dann meinen richtigen Grillteller erhielt, war auch hier das Geschmackserlebnis richtig toll. Wir waren alle begeistert und reservierten sofort für unsere nächste größere Familienfeier, die jetzt dort ebenfalls stattfand. Angeblich hätten an diesem Tag mehrere größere Gruppen dort reserviert. Das Wetter war leider nicht geeignet für den Biergarten und unsere Familie hatte dann im Restaurant ihren Platz bekommen. Im Restaurant selber war es sehr übersichtlich. Die anderen Gruppen konnte ich nirgends entdecken. Der Service war sehr freundlich und fix , doch als das Essen kam, waren wir weit entfernt vom Ergebnis beim ersten Mal: die verschiedenen Speisen sein zum Teil wie hingeworfen aus und die Portionen waren kein bisschen üppig. An einem Teller waren unter anderem paniert Schnitzel und Feuerwürste und das Fazit dazu war, dass das jeder hätte machen können und man nicht merken würde, dass ein toller Kopf daran gearbeitet hätte. Wir waren maßlos enttäuscht, hatten wir doch unsere Familie von unserem ersten Erlebnis vorgeschwärmt. Aus diesem Grunde gerade mal noch drei Punkte, weil das erste Mal richtig, richtig toll gewesen war.

I was stationed near Schwetzingen in '68-'69. Our post had been a Hospital during WWII and was well preserved. This was our favorite watering hole gasthaus. Many great memories here and I recall the bier garden out back. Still have 2 Weldebrau mugs from those Army days long ago. Hope to return there soon.

We were there for dinner. Price/performance is mediocre. The food was okay but you noticed and saw that the schnitzels were frozen goods. It's not for people with a good appetite. The two pictures show my portion (had to order twice) to fill me up. The service is nice and friendly and is the best thing about the store. I honestly hoped for more and expected a much better quality of food. I think everyone should take a look at it for themselves. Maybe something changes in the quality and then I'll take another look.

Despite the very touristy location in the heart of Schwetzingen, prices in the restaurant are quite reasonable. Inexpensive daily meals, seven to choose from. interesting recommendations of the week. Nice outdoor space under umbrellas or trees. Were there as a cycling group - again and again!

Wir besuchen regelmässig das blaue Loch in Schwetzingen und haben immer gut gegessen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Ein Renovierungsstau ist nicht zu übersehen. Der Biergarten könnte mal entrümpelt werden.

Historic building, rustic restaurant with palatial side rooms, beer garden, etc. For everyone with various dishes, large menu. Always delicious. Moderate prices. Friendly staff. Three people came in after the Christmas market without a reservation, but generally reservations are often required as it is very popular at events, birthdays and Christmas parties etc. Always happy

Lowest level! The “food” was absolute disgrace! From mayo-ready salad dressing to over-fried “schnitzels”, there was every kind of abnormality. Sorry! Asking for money for this is outrageous. I vomited right after eating there at home. And that's pretty intense. It used to be really great. Just disgusting today, sorry. The service was super nice but the food and drinks were an insult!

Seit längerem wieder im blauen Loch gegessen und komplett glücklich gegangen. Atmosphäre, Service und Essen alles bestens. Meine "Sonderanfertigung" (sehr guter Gemüseteller) kann ins Menü aufgenommen werden. Chili Cheeseburger meiner Familie war auch top.

Der schönste Biergarten in Schwetzingen!! Wir kommen seit vielen vielen Jahren immer wieder hierher. Man kann sagen, das ist unser Stammlokal. Das Essen ist mit Sicherheit z. B. im Kaffehaus besser, aber da kostet es auch wesentlich mehr. Die Preise sind also recht günstig, die Qualität trotzdem ganz ok. Allerdings ist es eben ein sehr gemütliches Restaurant mit einer schönen Atmosphäre, sehr freundlichem und in der Regel auch raschem Service. Und: Eben im Aussenbereich der schönste Biergarten in der Region. Sehr ruhig, vom Kanal umgeben, urig bewachsen und mit allerlei antiken Statuen und Krimskram vollgestellt. Wir lieben es.

Wir waren im Restaurant-alles bestens, gerne wieder!

Wir haben letzten Mittwoch am 3.1.24 den Abschied meines Vaters würdevoll vorgenommen (sogenannter Leichenschmaus) und waren vollstens zufrieden mit der Organisation und dem Service. Wir sind sehr dankbar,dass es so ein schönes Abschiedsfest war.Es waren wirklich ALLE sehr begeistert. Weiter so!!!!!!! Wir kommen wieder, hoffentlich zu einem erfreulicheren Ereignis. Sehr gutes Essen, für jeden etwas dabei, sowohl vegetarische, als auch Fleischgerichte vorhanden, sehr schnelle Bedienung und gefühlt hat man gerade den Vorspeisensalat gegessen kommt direkt 5 bis maximal 10 min später schon die Hauptspeise daher wirklich top!

Das waren mit Abstand die schlechtesten Rindsbäckchen in Rotweinsoße, die ich je gegessen habe. Das Fleisch war zäh und die Soße bestand aus Rotwein mit viel Bindemittel. Absolut unterirdisch! Die Frage, ob es geschmeckt hat, blieb aus. Vermutlich weiß man, warum.
