We each wanted to enjoy a tarte flambée this evening. In each piece there was a piece of plastic no reaction from the kitchen. The service was left alone. It's a shame we'll never eat out again anyway and can't recommend it.

We recently had the opportunity to visit Einhorn and what we found was amazing. Wonderful, delicious cuisine, portions more than sufficient, the three of us could easily eat the schnitzel 😅 The waitress with the light blonde hair is lovely and very helpful ❤️ She gave us great advice on choosing the dishes. Furthermore, the restaurant is in a beautiful location, we had the opportunity to admire the amazing cherry blossoms in front of the restaurant - simply magical😍

A beautiful, rustic restaurant with a charming flair and very good service. The food was very good - freshly prepared, a well-stocked menu of regional and seasonal offerings. The owner creates a very good atmosphere and so a festive occasion will always be remembered fondly. See you soon :)

Well, what can I say!? Today I went to the unicorn for the first time in 40 years. It was great there back then and unfortunately my life didn't allow me to be there again until now. The stars I give here are not a lie, because the food, the service and the ambience are simply so great that you can only feel comfortable here. Were your guests for the first time today. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was very tasty, but unfortunately we had to wait almost two hours for the food, which is not possible at all and was very annoying...

Wir waren hier für ein Mittagessen an einem Samstag um mal wieder etwas Deftiges zu essen. Die Karte sah so ganz gut aus. Leider entsprach das Ganze dann doch nicht dem was erwartet wurde. Die Flädlesuppe war lasch, kaum gewürzt und die Flädle selbst waren pappig (hätten noch etwas länger im Topf gebraucht). Die Kasnockn, dasselbe und leider war auch der Käse mit Milch verdünnt und die gehört da nicht hin. Zum Berghüttengulasch kann man sagen, dass dieser sehr gut war und kein bisschen zäh. Allerdings hätte man die Stücke auch etwas passender schneiden können für die Optik. Der Rotkohl glaube ich war nicht selbstgemacht und die Knödel waren wie die Flädle un die Kasnocken viel zu pappig. Preislich nicht günstig und das Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis stimmt nicht, auch nicht wenn die Portionen riesig sind. Vom Ambiente her eher ungemütlich und sonderlich freundlich ist man auch nicht. Würde ich so nicht wieder aufsuchen.

Yesterday we were at the Unicorn again, many seats were free in the restaurant, with the first drink there were little black flies everywhere, the food came and more flies over every plate, not nice! Addressed the staff, the explanation was inadequate, the boss had already tried everything.

Great restaurant in the most beautiful location. Service very good, food is good. You can go here. We didn't reserve a table, but I think that would make sense at peak times.

We discovered by chance that they still sell mussels here. Today I was finally able to eat mussels there again in the classic Rhenish style. Served hot with delicious stock and small root vegetables and not over-seasoned with pepper. My wife had a delicious and fluffy pancake. We'll be back.

The welcome and service itself was warm, the atmosphere is stylishly pleasant, and above all the delicious food 🤗🤗 The “Jäger style” schnitzel was on point, the vegetables were crisp and fresh 👍🏻 The chicken breast menu also tasted great 👍🏻 Espresso: even the cup was preheated (which is not the case everywhere), the taste was pleasantly mild Price for 2 people including drinks approx. 48 Eur 🤗 Toilet also very clean Parking somewhere on the street. Only 200 to the Rhine.

A quaint and cozy restaurant with an extensive menu, something for everyone. Service is friendly, you don't have to wait long for the food, but you do have to wait long for the drinks.

Small update December 28, 2024 (due after 4 years). Still very nice atmosphere, delicious food. It is still very pleasant here. There is delicious Uerige Alt and something good to eat. The quality is very good. It's rare to find such friendly staff! :-) Keep it up. We'll definitely be back.

I was with my department on December 5th. there…great restaurant, very good food and dedicated service…The owner was very helpful in preparing and planning the departmental party for Christmas… Everything worked out great and I will definitely stop by there more often… Many thanks to the owner and the team…

This venison goulash lost my appetite. I've never seen that before. The sauerbraten tasted strangely like tuna and was hardly seasoned. Red cabbage and salad dressing was good. But unfortunately not recommended overall. We had reserved a table, arrived about 30 minutes early and had to wait at the counter. We weren't even offered anything to drink here, which was served while we ate. 30 minutes Empty glass on the table. Staff is friendly but not attentive. What a shame! Has diminished significantly. That was better.

Quite atypical for a beer house, the interior is very bright and friendly. The food (Schnitzel Madagascar) came quickly, was excellent, super tasty and the portions are huge. Delicious food in a slightly rustic atmosphere. Staff very nice, attentive and accommodating. We had goose, the diede was very tasty. The children's schnitzel was very tasty, the rump steak was a little undercooked, but still had a very tasty meat taste and a delicious sauce.

A restaurant to feel good. Small deduction for food. The vegetables could be served tastier. Otherwise everything was very tasty. Edited review: Food is still as described above, vegetables are no longer taken, but a small salad. What has changed is the service. Unfortunately, the previous nice cellar ladies are no longer there. Now there were 2 cellar girls there who were less accommodating, which was a shame and it put a damper on the mood. When I empty a glass, I don't want to ask to get another full glass. Ordering food didn't go well either. They are too focused on themselves. Maybe the service will get better again, that would be great.

We ate there twice. The first time in summer, the second time in autumn. Every time the service was friendly and courteous and the food was very good. No long waiting times, although it was well attended and the price/performance level was also right. Nice ambience on top. We'd love to come back.

Was there for the first time yesterday afternoon. The restaurant is as rustic as the district center and the houses in Kaiserswerth in general. Cozy furnishings and the right ambience. The food we ordered was top in every respect and it tasted great. The children were equally happy. The staff was friendly and in a good mood. So we would like to come back as a family. Definitely recommended.

We were there with about 20 people after our civil wedding. We were received very friendly by the landlord. The service and also the food were very quick. We and our guests enjoyed it. Everything was very uncomplicated and very relaxed for us on the day!

Delicious dishes and drinks and friendly service

Spontaneously went to the Unicorn today. Tasty, attentive, funny. Boss super nice, next visit won't be long in coming. The price and performance are still right here.

Super friendly service, very good cuisine, the colorful seasonal salad "Fit for Fun" was recommended to me and it was really great, the breaded schnitzel "Jäger Art" from my companion was also very well received. We also really liked the outdoor terrace on the central island in Kaiserswerth, nice atmosphere. We will come back.

A really great restaurant. The salad with chicken breast is particularly recommended. I would say it is one of the best salads in Kaiserswerth, if not in all of Düsseldorf. The service staff is more than attentive and very hard-working and also delivers quickly, even if they have to walk across the street. At lunchtime the place is actually full, three waitresses try to please everyone and they do it very well

A very good restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere, clean and extremely friendly staff. The meal was excellent! I had the Rhenish sauerbraten with pickled raisins, roasted almond leaves, with apple red cabbage and homemade potato dumplings and it was super tasty, compliments to the kitchen. I can recommend it.

Good German cuisine 10 - 30 € good quality

Quite a relaxed place with good food - I had a bacon pancake and wasn't expecting so many pieces of bacon - you're usually lucky if it's actually bacon! The pickles on top were the perfect accompaniment! In the end I was full and that was after 2 hours of cycling. Easy to find in the historic city center of Kaiserswerth and not overcrowded on a rainy day. Overall, recommended - the service was also friendly and quick! Kind regards to the team - I would like to try out the offer in winter... especially the bedside table - the recommended dessert looked great today, but unfortunately I didn't have time for it!

Were there today and wanted the dish of the day. Instead of telling us that rosemary triplets weren't available, they made us wait for an hour and then just put salad with shrimps (rather raw), that's not possible, just talk and leave it don't just wait... :-((

A classic place in Kaiserswerth, great for locals and tourists alike. It has a German food with seasonal specialities, with nice outdoor seating in the middle of the main road. Service is really nice and payment by card is possible. Would definitely recommend if you're seeing Kaiserswerth and want to grab a bite or just enjoy the local beer.

Everything was great and very tasty

Waited more than 1 hour for a simple meal. Jägerschnitzel with fries and then the fries were inedible. Fried in fat for far too long. Poor service doesn't get a tip as a result. Unfortunately that happened a lot that day.

This service is unacceptable. We booked a table for 10 people a week in advance when we arrived there were only two more tables, and after two hours time the food has not arrived. Everyone else has eaten and has paid and has left, and we still haven’t received our starters. The stuff was not helpful at all.

The waiting staff must come from another planet, because unfortunately I now know that in Germany people serve more politely at the table than in our country. The food Superb, service very courteous, not pushy. Next year, set up 2 chairs for 2 days after Ascension Day, we will be back!

Finding a restaurant where you can get good food, good service and a nice atmosphere for a good price is not always easy these days. But in the unicorn I was pleasantly surprised. And that too in the middle of Kaiserswert! It was great with you, great food, nice service, we felt like guests and got a lot for our money. I recommended you to others and will come again myself. The food was super delicious 😋. I had asparagus, 500g (but it was definitely more) with potatoes and about 300g!? smoked salmon. My friend had the Wiener Schnitzel, which he also really enjoyed. The service was very friendly. I personally didn't find the atmosphere nice, but that's a matter of taste.

We have been to the Unicorn several times now. They come from out of town and come to Kaiserswerth about every 2 months. The food is good and plentiful. What bothers us, and again and again, is the staff. You come into the restaurant, sit down at a table and the ladies don't move because they can't stop chatting. Even if someone has taken the drink order, it can take more than 10 minutes before it is poured and brought out. If you say something, the answer will be in a snippy tone. Especially the service number 5 makes it seem like she owns the place. You should pay more attention to your guests and be there for them, then you would order more than one drink and increase sales significantly. The prices for the dishes are around €20. Which is fine for what you get on your plate.

We celebrated our wedding there in April with 20 people. The communication with the operator Max was totally relaxed, goal-oriented and the implementation was ultimately exactly as we imagined. The day before the wedding we were able to present our table decorations the way we wanted them to be arranged, and here too the implementation was perfect. The food tasted great. Especially with 20 people who all ordered different things, it is a great achievement that everyone received their food at the same time. Max and the service team were very interested and made every effort to ensure that we had a nice day and that we didn't miss anything. We can definitely recommend “Zum Einhorn”.

Never again!!! Here the service staff think they are something better, are cheeky, impudent, arrogant, ignorant and in a bad mood. Be careful, pay particular attention to service no. 05 in eight. The service staff spoke excessively loudly throughout our stay, not in our national language, mind you, and laughed loudly. The guests seemed like a necessary, disruptive evil. The bread basket was thrown onto the table in complete annoyance. The draft beer sat around for 15 minutes. When we asked, we received a snippy “runs” response. After we finished eating, said No. 05 demonstratively wiped all the tables and then came to our table. When I asked, I got the answer, some guests would take longer breaks during the meal. Meanwhile, the light in the kitchen was already turned off. You wanted to go home. Mind you, it was only 9 p.m. We were then said goodbye with an arrogant laugh from No. 05 I travel a lot and frequent restaurants all over the world. What I experienced here last night is something I have never experienced anywhere else.

Very nice service, the food is always freshly made and you can tell straight away when you taste it. A nice and quiet atmosphere, it is recommended to go there with family or friends.

We celebrated our daughter's communion there in April 2024. The advance arrangements were very courteous, timely and detailed. The boss is very committed and totally friendly. Everything has to be implemented like this agreed works. The service is very nice and responds to all guests individually. The food is simply delicious, the portions are very large and everything was freshly prepared. Even extra requests were no problem for the Unicorn 🦄 team. Any time again and a clear 5 ⭐️ recommendation!

Nie wieder!!! Hier hält sich das Servicepersonal für etwas Besseres, ist frech, unverschämt, arrogant, ignorant und übelst gelaunt. Achtung, man nehme sich besonders vor der Bedienung No. 05 in Acht. Das Servicepersonal hat sich übermäßig laut während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes, wohlgemerkt nicht in unserer Landessprache unterhalten und lauthals gelacht. Die Gäste wirkten wie ein notwendiges, störendes Übel. Der Brotkorb wurde uns völlig genervt auf den Tisch geschmissen. Das gezapfte Bier stand 15 Minuten herum. Auf unser Nachfragen, bekamen wir ein schnippisches „läuft“ zur Antwort. Nachdem wir mit dem Essen fertig waren, hat besagte No. 05 demonstrativ erst einmal alle Tische abgewischt und kam dann an unseren Tisch. Auf mein Nachfragen bekam ich zur Antwort, manche Gäste würden längere Pausen während des Essens machen. Das Licht in der Küche war währenddessen schon ausgeschaltet. Man wollte nach Hause. Es war wohlgemerkt erst 21.00 Uhr. Verabschiedet wurden wir dann arrogant lachend von No. 05 Ich reise viel und frequentiere Restaurantes auf der ganzen Welt. Was ich hier gestern Abend erlebt habe, habe ich noch nirgendwo erlebt.

"Einhorn" - Für uns (Paar) eines der besten Restaurants in Hattingen! Die Gerichte sind immer auf sehr gutem Niveau, die Portionen recht ordentlich und die Preise sind dem Niveau entsprechend angemessen. Es gibt eine ständige Karte und auch immer ein wechselndes saisonales Angebot. Ende September waren wir wieder einmal zum Miesmuschelessen dort: 1 x in Tomatensosse (natürlich mit frischem Knoblauch) und 1 x rheinische Art; jeweils mit frischer Petersilie. Dazu gab es Weissbrot bzw. Schwarzbrot und Butter. Die Portionen waren reichlich und in den typischen Muscheltöpfen, bei denen der Deckel zum Ablegen der Schalen genutzt wird. Überwiegend orange große Muscheln und HEISS; wie es sein sollte - also frisch zubereitet! Eine sehr gute Weinempfehlung dazu war für uns der Grauburgunder, der sehr gut zu den Muscheln passte! Der Service freundlich und aufmerksam! Gut gemacht! Bitte beachten: Das hervorragende Niveau des Essens im "Einhorn" hat sich herumgesprochen; daher ist unbedingt eine Reservierung anzuraten, insbesondere Abends von Freitags bis Sonntags!

We celebrated our wedding in October 2023 at Einhorn with 30 guests and it was a wonderful day with delicious food and great service. We were able to discuss all of our wishes in advance, were lovingly considered and we were able to enjoy the day carefree. A real recommendation from our side!

Terrible food. Defrosted vegetables on the plate, for an incredibly cheeky price! The fish was anything but fresh and had nothing to do with a fillet. Real flop!!

Went there again for dinner on January 26th. There was venison goulash, sauerbraten with dumplings and chicken breast with kale. The food was very tasty and HUGE portions. That was definitely worth the money. Would I eat there again? In any case. Can only recommend it.🤤🤤🤤
