Super tasty fish and very friendly service. We'd love to come back.

It was very tasty, a little too much for me, since we were in the low season there was still enough time to talk to the boss about fishing. I'd be happy to go back when work takes you back to Hooksiel.

Small but ok. Food top top top. Not a big card but really good stuff. Super good fish 🐟 not run of the mill e.g. Tusk with ratatouille and fried potatoes would be happy again.

Today we were guests in the restaurant “Zum Anker”. We had reserved a table as a precaution, which was good because the restaurant was very busy. The restaurant itself is well maintained and clean. The two waitresses were super nice. We were warmly welcomed and given excellent advice regarding the choice of food. It was also possible to get a “smaller portion (senior plate)”. We had 4 different dishes. Baked fish, cutter plaice, grilled plaice fillets and breaded plaice fillets, 1x with fries, the rest with fried potatoes. Everything was really very tasty and the quantity was more than enough. We were really very satisfied and there was really nothing to complain about. A huge compliment. Keep it up.

We wanted to try the restaurant beforehand, but it was closed. Now we were back in the area and this time we made it. Time has stood still in the restaurant and it's fitting. Service typically northern German, but the types of fish were explained to the next table. We noticed this positively. Reordering was no problem. The fish was prepared without much frills and still looked good. The fish was fresh and well fried. Side dishes were also very good. Fried potatoes were delicious. The restaurant is not very large and is always busy, so you should make a reservation, especially in the evenings. There are some alternatives for those who refuse to eat fish, but the menu is for fish lovers, as you would expect in a fish restaurant. The prices are higher, the portion size is good and fish is not cheap. If we are in the area again, then the next visit will definitely be on the cards.

Very nice little restaurant...Very friendly service...Super delicious food, which was recommended to us by the boss. The restaurant was full but the food came quickly and without any stress. The rather small restaurant is clean, bright and pleasantly designed. The service was very friendly, the advice was detailed, the food came quickly and was extremely tasty! If we're ever in the area again we'll definitely visit again. Tip: You definitely have to book a table in advance

We had lumb for dinner which was very tasty. Fish fried to perfection. The service was also very nice.

We were at the Anker on a Tuesday evening around 6:30 p.m. - without a reservation... So we didn't get a table, but "had to" make do with a place at the counter. Luckily, otherwise we wouldn't have had such a nice chat with the boss and his employee. Of course, we also ate delicious food. The fried fish in a super crispy shell with a great remoulade and a crispy plaice fillet (as crispy and delicious as I have rarely had before) with North Sea crabs were in front of us after a short time. Serve with delicious fried potatoes; only slightly seasoned - but I think that's very good. I'd rather add more salt and pepper than it's already too much. Accompanied by a delicious beer and finally a Ramazotti... Delicious - very tasty in fact - it was. Thank you for food and drink as well as one or two anecdotes from the fishing hobby... Petri Heil for the trip to Norway and Bremen... The ambience is more like a pub than a restaurant and the tone is rough and charming - northern German - so if you're looking for Chi-Chi and Etepetete, you're probably in the wrong place here. If you want to eat delicious food, you should take a look here.

Hi everyone, the food was good, the price/performance ratio doesn't fit. We went there because of the good recessions, but we didn't think it was a good fit.

At least one visit is a MUST during your holiday in Hooksiel. Top fish dishes! Very good price/performance ratio. The furnishings are practical and simple. We like it. Friendly boss and wait staff. Dogs are welcome and get their treat (or two ;). We'd love to come back!

The food was quite good except for the salad, which was from a bucket, only the boss wasn't friendly, he didn't even give us the schnapps that he gave to others and when we said goodbye there was only a stern look. But there are other restaurants on site and we won't be coming back!

Went there spontaneously around 1:30 p.m. The kitchen is open until 2 p.m. We were recommended fried fish with fried potatoes and salad. The fried fish was very tasty. The fried potatoes, on the other hand, were dry and warmed up. I think it's a shame and think that we would definitely have been served fresh fried potatoes for dinner. Maybe there's a second chance,

Very nice, small fish restaurant in the center of Hooksiel. The family-run restaurant with friendly, competent service is very well attended. The fish selection of sea bass, red bass, wolffish, gurnard, tusk, sole, pollack, cod and plaice in various variations with a wide variety of side dishes is finely prepared and very tasty. We will continue to enjoy the food often.

Wonderful little and very cozy fish restaurant in Hooksiel! We chose the crab soup and shrimp for the starters and the fish platter and the rump fillet for the main courses. Everything was absolutely delicious and seemed very fresh. I would just avoid the “bull swallow” next time...

We were there for the first time today. The boss is relaxed and friendly, ready for a joke. The meal, rump fillet with fried potatoes and salad. Tusk fillet is a Norwegian fish, similar to cod. The dish was highly recommended to me by the boss. It was very good, very well fried. My companion had plaice fillet with crabs, which he also really enjoyed. The portions were also sufficient. A small negative point: There is a high step to the toilets, which may be a bit difficult for people with walking difficulties. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask about a disabled toilet. Nevertheless, the restaurant is highly recommended

Very nice, small and cozy restaurant with very friendly, family service and excellent fish dishes. The fish plate is ideal for trying various fillets. Went back the next day and tried the sea bass as its own dish. Absolutely great. Anyone who is on vacation in Wilhelmshaven or Hooksiel should eat here at least once.

7:00 p.m. on a Saturday, without reservation. Not a good idea at first, sat down at the bar for a beer, got a table 15 minutes later. The order had already been taken, which is why the food didn't take long to arrive. Even a larger group had their food on the table quickly after ordering. In addition to the quick cuisine, also a thumbs up to the service. Attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, one or two of them were frozen (schnitzel, fish fingers) but of course not the “real” fish. It tastes good, the fried potatoes aren't too greasy, they talk to you on the phone afterwards. Everyone here knows something about their craft. That's why it's great, highly recommended.

The fish is super tasty and freshly prepared. We've been coming here for a few years now. The staff and the boss are always super nice and friendly. We'll be here again next year. It was great again, the fish was very tasty. We will definitely be back in 2025.

Rustic atmosphere. But that doesn't take away from the good food and the very friendly (also child-friendly) and funny staff. The store is always full and there are reasons for that. Would go there again. Food was delicious, came quickly and we were very satisfied.

We had dinner there with the family. Unfortunately the food wasn't good. The steak not well done. One side more fried than the other. Champion sauce for the schnitzel tasted fermented. Fish was too done. We were misled by the good reviews, but we cannot recommend the restaurant.

A very small but fine restaurant with first-class food. We go there every year and neither the service nor the quality of the food has decreased. The rump and plaice tasted best. If you ask the boss, he will be happy to show you a picture of the tusk and let you sample his knowledge. He himself is Nordic correct but a bit cold. During the week he has a great service person who is always up for fun. Children are also very welcome. Pricey, but worth it!! They even prepared a table for 12 for us because we had met friends and wanted to sit together. Not a given given the size of the restaurant. We look forward to next year. Another tip, be sure to reserve in advance!!

We're on the motorhome pitch this weekend and wanted to go out for a delicious meal. We found it very tasty. It's also quite quaint there. We would eat there again. Be sure to try the Frisian spirit. We then bought a bottle to take home. To the landlord, Edeka is open until 8 p.m. on Saturdays. 😂

I can only recommend the fish platter, but not the schnitzel. The ambience and service are good, I would come back!

We ate here just before lunch after our trip to the Grusoleum. The landlord let us in (9 people), so we were lucky and still had warm food. The food was delicious and the price was right 👍 ​​The atmosphere is somewhat reminiscent of a pub and is rustic but clean and tidy.

Sind letzte Woche 2 mal da gewesen. Ich kann nur gutes sagen. Essen lecker, Bedienung super und ein Chef der immer einen Spruch auf Lager. Und ja wer zur Abendstunde dort Essen möchte sollte einen Tisch vorbestellen.

TOP Adresse für Fisch! Erfahrener Smutje und Angler der weiß wie es schmecken muss. Jegliche Fischvariationen im Angebot. Sogar Raritäten wie Lumbfilet aus Norwegen,fangfrisch nicht gefroren.

Genialer Backfisch, sehr nette Wirtsleute und trotz vollem Gastraum wurden wir nicht weggeschickt, sondern bekamen einen gemütlichen Platz am Tresen.

Kleines Lokal. Gemütlich geht anders aber alles sauber. Große Portionen. Bedienung okay. Die häufigen 5 Sterne Bewertungen kann ich nicht verstehen. Das Essen hat geschmeckt (und das ist wichtig), das tut es in den meisten anderen Restaurants aber auch.

Vorzügliches Essen. Ganz tolle Fische. Man sollte immer das Essen bestellen was der Chef empfiehlt. Fisch den man vielleicht gar nicht kennt und der vorzüglich schmeckt. Der nette Bedienung, günstige Preise und schnell geht es auch noch. Ich würde empfehlen einen Tisch zu reservieren da das relativ kleine Lokal sehr gut besucht ist

Trotz Vorbestellung, nicht den gewünschten Tisch bekommen. Die bestellten Limanden waren sehr salzig und fettig. Die zum Gericht servierten Bandnudeln sehr verklebt (schwierig zu essen) hat auch die Soße die gut schmeckte, nicht besser gemacht. Die Portion war großzügig und man wird satt.

Wir hatten Glück, spontan einen Tisch zu bekommen. Da das Lokal klein und beliebt ist, sollte man besser reservieren. Alles wirkte sauber und gepflegt. In der Karte wurden wir schnell fündig und bestellten die Scholle mit Krabben. Davor eine sehr leckere Krabbensuppe. Wir warteten eine angemessene Zeit auf den Hauptgang, definitiv nicht sehr lange und bekamen ein wirklich hervorragendes Essen serviert. Kompliment an die Chefin, die hier selbst am Herd steht. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Immer wieder einen Besuch wert. Das Essen war fein, die Bedienung freundlich und das Ambiente rustikal schön. Ich empfehle insbesondere in der Saison einige Tage vorher einen Tisch zu reservieren.
