Zecherei Sankt Nikolai in Tangermünde

We were able to hold our Christmas party there. We had pre-ordered a rustic meal. The staff was very attentive and, because we enjoyed it, even stayed open a little longer. Thank you so much!

The location is fantastic. The atmosphere is amazing. The food is varied and very tasty. The competent, friendly, and quick-witted service further enhanced our wonderful experience. We will gladly return and have already recommended the restaurant to our friends.

Simply fabulous! The ambiance perfectly complements the historic building; the menu, the names of the dishes, and even the old German script all fit the theme. Friendly and efficient service is, of course, a given. My recommendation: make a reservation well in advance.

We were there a few days ago. First, we weren't served for ages. Then a server ran through the restaurant shouting, "Who ordered this crap?" Another server shouted at least three times while we were there and waited, "I'm throwing this out today." The food was good, except for the coleslaw. For €21.90, I expect homemade coleslaw. When we paid and left, we received a (sour/offended?) "Hmm" in response to our "goodbye." Unfortunately, the service towards us that day was completely unprofessional.

A nice restaurant in itself. The food was actually good too. But we were there with a group and had ordered our food in advance, at the restaurant's request. Unfortunately, it was all pre-cooked and rather lukewarm. We had to ask the waiter if we could order a second round. This was in an otherwise empty restaurant. It was a shame and disappointing.

We both just wanted to stop in for a tasty cow's tail beer, so we got two 🍻 each. Very drinkable🤭. I absolutely had to try the herring, and as a herring fan, I've never had more tender herring anywhere, and the housewife's sauce was also perfect. Thank you very much. We recommended it to another couple after a perplexed search, and they both loved it. My husband simply wanted the delicious fried potatoes with a fried egg and was won over by the small cubes. 😋 We definitely recommend it for service, taste, ambiance, and not to forget!!! Quaint is the right word, simply classy. And that's true in every respect. The food, beer, and everything else absolutely exceed our expectations. A must for anyone coming to Tangermünde, it's 100% worth it.

This restaurant is fantastic with its dining experience. Great decor, superb menu. The garlic soup is heavenly. The beer is served in a clay mug and tastes excellent. If you can't get enough, you can take it home in bottles.

When entering St. Nikolai you get the feeling to be pulled into the middle ages. The staff is very friendly. The food is excellent. The "Kuhschwanz" (Cow Tail) Beer was served in stone jugs and was also very good. It was grand.

We were there for a team event and had booked the grand banquet and the "Juggler" in advance. The atmosphere in the Zecherei is truly wonderful, but unfortunately, the waitresses were rather uncaring in their job, and we were also very disappointed with the "Juggler"; he only served us three times for about 15 minutes, and he was charged €15 per person! The food was very tasty, though. Overall, it was a very disappointing evening, as the price-performance ratio was absolutely not right.

Dear team, we visited this wonderful restaurant for the first time today. We really enjoyed it. Ms. Mohn (phonetically) was particularly friendly and enhanced the truly original atmosphere. A place like this is indispensable without such an original. The food was excellent and very tasty. The price/performance ratio is reasonable. It was a lovely evening. We'd love to come back.

This was our second visit to the Zecherei. This time with friends. Seven slightly "crazy" friends. A challenge for any server. Yvonne Monn mastered it with flying colors, patience, and a generous dose of humor. The food was once again delicious. Many thanks to all the staff! We'll definitely be back next time.

We spent a pleasant time at the "Zecherei" in a medieval, rustic ambiance and with friendly, attentive service. Our dishes, wild meatloaf and schnitzel, were served promptly and were extremely delicious 😋...praise for the kitchen! Upon request, I was able to order a small portion...perfectly sufficient for me. We can wholeheartedly recommend the "Zecherei" 👌 Small note: The medieval music could be a bit more subdued 😉

I can only agree with the others. Great atmosphere in a small, old church. The food wasn't worth the price. Simple dishes that were really tasty – but "very modest portions." It wasn't filling. But that's been in the reviews for months – they've always praised improvements – but it's more like blah blah blah. It's a good thing there's a pizzeria nearby. We got our fill there. And that was over €100 for four people. Conclusion: look around and have a beer – gladly. Eating and getting full doesn't work.

We really enjoyed the medieval ambiance. The food was absolutely delicious. As I always say, you can tell a good chef by their ability to make good fried potatoes, and they were delicious. The server, Ms. Ivonne Borstel, was also very friendly, attentive, and super-fast. If I had a restaurant in Tangermünde, I would definitely poach her. We'll definitely return on our next visit to Tangermünde.

The three of us spent a pleasant evening here with good food and a delicious home-brewed beer. We were served by Monn, whose real name is Yvonne. I'm highlighting this because none of us can remember such excellent service. Monn is a service force with heart and soul. She doesn't lose her sense of humor, her friendliness, or her motivation, even under extreme stress (a crowded place, too few staff, and then the keg is empty). Hats off, Monn. It was fun watching you at work. I think without your outstanding commitment, not much would work at the Zecherei. Thank you very much, and keep up the good work.

Wir waren heute zum Abendessen dort. Super Ambiente und lecker Essen. Toll war auch die Kellnerin Monn (alias Yvonne). Sie war super herzlich, hat uns sehr gut zur Essensauswahl beraten und die kleine Verspätung des Spargelgerichts mit einer kleinen Leckerei versüßt. Auch tolle Infos zu Sehenswürdigkeiten hatte sie für uns. Man hat gespürt das sie die Tätigkeit von Herzen ausübt. Sehr zu empfehlen! Übrigens kann man dort auch auf einem Thron König und Königin sein.🤩👍

It's a bit like stepping into a medieval setting. I think that's great. The food was also very tasty, but unfortunately, the waitress forgot to bring the herb curd cheese that we had ordered separately, so the schnitzel ended up being dry. And it took forever to pay, but all in all, we would come back; we enjoyed it.

I can definitely recommend this historic and picturesque place.

It's not possible to grab a quick bite to eat here. It was 2 p.m., and there were four guests in the restaurant, including the two of us. We waited a full 40 minutes for our food. The asparagus was rock hard and some of it was still raw. You have to wonder what's taking so long. The staff were sitting in the front garden, smoking.

You can eat like in the Middle Ages here, at least in terms of the ambience. The dishes are more modern but the friendly service is dressed like a squire once did. We liked and enjoyed the mix of experience and gastronomic tradition.

A rustic atmosphere that makes you feel at home, hearty food, good homemade beer, and the young man is simply brilliant. We even got a virtual city tour along the way. We'll have to go back to hear the continuation of the story. What an experience... Thank you very much.

Cozy atmosphere in the old walls. We booked the jugglers for the Tangermünde table feast - a great experience and definitely recommended! Super friendly staff. Two small suggestions for improvement: Immediately upon arrival, brief information about the process, especially with the note that everyone can help themselves to the delicacies at the table. When tipping, it is better to just point out a basket at the exit, the approach was slightly irritating in some cases.

It must have been at least 10 years since I was last here. Unfortunately, I remembered it better. The menu, very small, only 3 main courses, Hamburger schnitzel, cheeks and kale. When I go out to eat in such a great atmosphere, I actually expect a rustic meal. A leg, ribs... something you can eat. We ordered the Hamburger Schnitzel which tasted good but wasn't enough for a full grown man. Of course I could have asked beforehand what there was to eat there.

In October we were in Tangermünde and spent a lovely evening in the carousal. The medieval flair is simply fantastic. It was advertised for New Year's Eve 2024 and we booked straight away. Unfortunately we were really disappointed. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with a medieval and fairytale evening, as promised. Music from the 80s on tape was the entire entertainment. The DJ sat impassively nearby. Some guests disappeared early because they, too, had promised themselves something else. The food was good, the service was friendly, but the price-performance ratio was irrelevant for the entire event. We were especially from Dresden arrived and celebrated there in medieval locations, which were also appropriate. It's a shame, Tangermünde actually represents this era, but unfortunately we don't have fond memories of New Year's Eve.

This place was amazing. The food tasted incredible and suitably matched the atmosphere of the restaurant, which was worth a visit just in itself. It was everything I could have hoped for when looking into this place. The staff was very nice and they even have a little shop where you can buy medevial style clothes and accessories which were a lot cheaper than your average medieval market. Highly recommend to anyone, I wish I could eat here more often!

We were there during the Christmas market in Tangermünde. We had reserved and got a nice, large table. The ambience is of course unbeatable. What surprised me was that the food was very tasty. I had the wild goulash and it was with wild mushrooms and it was the first time I tasted red cabbage in the restaurant. The portion was too small for the men, but it was enough for me. Everything took a little longer but the service staff was very nice. We have already reserved a table for the next visit.

We have been visiting the Sankt Nikolai Zecherei regularly for 15 years now, and every time it feels like coming home. This restaurant has become our absolute favorite place - a place full of cosiness, charm and authenticity. The atmosphere here is simply incomparable. In a former church from the Middle Ages, with dimmed lights and an almost mystical atmosphere, you feel like you have been transported directly to another time. The warm, slightly dark ambience ensures that you immediately relax and forget about everyday life. Bright light? None! Instead, you can expect pleasant, subdued lighting that invites you to spend long, relaxing evenings. The kitchen? Home cooking, the way you want it – honest, hearty and served with a pinch of medieval romance. People still cook properly here and you can taste it! The dishes are hearty and full of flavor, perfect for anyone who appreciates good food. But that's not all: Zecherei is known for catering to special requests - and I speak from experience! I am known for being very particular and sometimes a bit stubborn in my orders. But here in the carousing it is always met with a smile and the greatest effort. A small example: Every time I come with very special requests, and every time they are fulfilled with the greatest patience and dedication - even if they probably sometimes get on the cook's last nerve. But the cook is not only talented, but also incredibly humorous and loving when dealing with her guests. This time I even got a carrot put on my plate as a thank you - a little wink for my special wishes! This personal touch and the warm treatment simply make the difference and make you want to come back every time. The service at Zecherei Sankt Nikolai is also excellent. Our waiter was attentive and took care of my every little request. He complemented the atmosphere perfectly, always friendly, courteous and with a smile on his face. You can tell that a well-rehearsed team works here, who work with joy and commitment and ensure the well-being of the guests. For us, Zecherei Sankt Nikolai is a place where you can not only eat well, but also feel really welcome. The mix of warm hospitality, authentic ambience and down-to-earth, delicious home cooking makes this restaurant something very special. It's no wonder that we have been loyal guests for 15 years and are thrilled every time. Many thanks to the entire team at Zecherei Sankt Nikolai for the wonderful evenings we were able to spend here. You are truly one of the best and warmest restaurants there is! We are already looking forward to the next time and are excited to see what little surprises await us again.

Everything's great! When I'm in Tangermünde I try to get a place at the Sankt Nicolei mine. That puts me in a good mood.

Great restaurant, only the kale is inedible.

If you're looking for something a little more extravagant next to the usual restaurants, you've come to the right place. The food was good and we were full, prices were quite high for the portions. We found the combination of beef and mashed sweet potatoes to be unsuitable. Green beans with bacon and maybe simple potatoes or coarse potato wedges, that would have been really tasty (especially with the dark beef sauce). Kind regards and all the best.

We spontaneously asked for a table for 4 people and half an hour later we were sitting comfortably in a very rustic location. The food was exceptionally good and freshly prepared. 5 full points. Tangermünder Kuh Schwanz beer is a local specialty and you have to try it - it's also very good. The owners put a lot of effort into integrating the ambience of an old church into a catering establishment. We really liked it and would highly recommend it.
