Unfortunately the restaurant was only open for a tour group, but otherwise very nicely done in knight style. The menu sounds tempting.

Very tasty, the restaurant and the menu is also particularly beautifully designed including the staff. The toilet could be more modern. Only the service wasn't enough for the number of guests, which meant it took a little longer to order or clear away, but that wasn't a problem for us. From ordering to serving it was quick :-)

The location itself is quite nice with the medieval atmosphere. Unfortunately the first waiter is quite overwhelmed. Long waiting time until the food comes (approx. 30 minutes) The food tastes very good, but it's not enough for the high price (schnitzel with fried potatoes and a bite of salad €26).

Nice authentic place with home-brewed beer. Black beer, in my opinion, a bit too sour. But tastes differ.

Lovely preparation, only a few rocket leaves are served as a salad, and fried potatoes are also far from tasty. The service is friendly and the service is good so far. The ambience is interesting and recommended but unfortunately the kitchen is not.

Super Ambiente in einem Gebäude, was eine ehemalige Kirche an einem der Stadttore war. Die Speisen waren sehr gut und man fand das eine oder andere Besondere auf der Karte. Die Bedienung war erstklassig und auch das dunkle Tangermünder Kuhschwanzbier sollte man probiert haben.

The price-performance ratio is not quite right. The service is quite superficial, sometimes confused and the kitchen is slow. The location is of course quite impressive and attracts guests. However, you may also end up sitting on wobbly chairs and in a complete draught. This is probably supposed to seem authentic and is part of the setting 🤷‍♀️. In any case, we won't be going there anymore.

What a carousing! We are active in the medieval scene ourselves. And this location makes the heart of every medieval fanatic beat faster. But first things first... The inn is located in an almost 800-year-old church building, which has been de-dedicated as a church for over 500 years. During this time the building has had a lively history, which can be read online here. Since 2000, a restaurant has been housed there, which is a real delight for both the happy reveler and the hungry traveler. The ambience is medieval, you eat in the large hall, in the tub (bathing - yes... you read that right, you can bathe there too!), in the confessional or under the pulpit, the staff is dressed in medieval clothing and knows what they're doing so-called “market language”, a medieval-looking language. You will be served in a friendly manner. The menu is clear and fits on two DIN A4 pages, and the dishes are also suitable for those on a budget. The dishes are delicious. The "coffee pot" is huge and even the coffee (although not medieval :-) ) is served as befits a medieval inn. If you want to have a hearty party, this is the right place for you. However, you definitely need to pre-order because the store is buzzing! We were simply patient and were lucky: a reserved table was not occupied, so we were allowed to occupy it after a reasonable waiting period. It was worth it! Added to your wish list and will visit again soon!

We bought a dress there for the Medieval Festival in Wittenberg and a shirt for myself. As you can imagine, both are not cheap 😉 But whatever. What doesn't work at all is the staff. Was very rude and cheeky 😕. Fitting in front of the toilets. It doesn't work at all. We shouldn't be like this. Price reduction was also not possible and we also have to pay for a mini paper bag. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy our visit to this restaurant at all. The portions are meager, the price is hefty and cannot be justified. A latte that tasted really strange. Since we were allowed to pay over 30€ for a small bowl of asparagus, 3 potato thalers with rocket, 1 mineral water and 1 latte and were still not full, we quickly drove to Rathenow to the Italian restaurant and had a delicious meal there - for 32€ something to drink. We will visit Tangermünde again, but definitely not the carousing.

We've never had such a rustic meal before. We were taken to the confessional but were served courteously. The food and cow's tail beer tasted excellent. Gladly again.

It was a nice experience with history. But everything was very dark, just like it used to be. I didn't really feel comfortable there. However, the food was tip top, really good, and the special beer too!

If you want to be treated as a servant, you've come to the right place. A table at the entrance with a bench for children. A candle chandelier that goes out again after 1/2 hour. 4 carelessly stored dishes letter for 6 people. Wheelchair disabled people who are dragged to the toilet on the first floor. A lavish meal that is not reflected in the costs. After 1/4 year of ordering tables, I expected more. More friendliness from the service would have been nice.

I thought the food was good and the atmosphere was great. This restaurant is remembered even after years.

Unfortunately, the preparation was for a celebration and there was only one meal. This tasted very good, it was beef cheeks with homemade mashed potatoes. We were sitting outside and across the street ZDF was filming a scene from the series "With Heart and Holly". I don't know it, but it was still interesting. I would maybe visit the restaurant again if we were on vacation in the city.

The food and the medieval ambience are great. The al dente asparagus with homemade hollondaise sauce was accompanied by the best pork schnitzel, very good beer and friendly service.

Simply great experience gastronomy

Great location! A place steeped in history where the locally famous Kuh Schwanz beer (very drinkable) is served. Prices for beer and food ok. I had raccoon liver cheese and it was very good. Not enough to fill you up, but that's what the waitress told me. Just wanted to try it. Can only be recommended to tourists! Tangermünde is worth a trip anyway.

If you want to experience something special, you have to eat here. We are excited.

A little hidden at the end of the shopping street. You immediately feel like you have been transported to another time, inside and outside. The special beer is very tasty. Definitely stay there. Parking is best free in the harbor area.

Wir waren vergangener Woche beruflich in Tangermünde unterwegs. Aufgrund der Bewertungen haben wir uns für die Zecherei entschieden. Ich und der Kollege hatten als Vorspeise die Suppe (Einsamkeit, mit Knoblauch) und danach ich den Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffel und dazu Zwei Kuhschwanzbier :) Unser Tisch war im Beichthaus (in irgendeinen Bild habe ich gesehen), total lustig, das Ambiente mega und das Essen sehr lecker. Wenn ich erneut in Tangermünde sein sollte werde ich dieses Lokal erneut besuche. Volle Empfehlung

Such a wonderful atmosphere to be in, totally enjoyed our time there. Only given 3 for the food as the chef had left and had only 2 choices, I tried a very German dish which I didn't like.. But it did not spoil how much I enjoyed my time there. Highly recommendable

Great prepared medieval tavern in an old church.. Atmosphere, people, location, surroundings.. everything was great. The food was delicious, the drink selection was very good! However, the menu didn't quite suit our taste this time. We would have liked more hearty meat dishes. The portion of beef cheeks was quite small when I see comparison pictures here. But... it was definitely delicious... and we'll definitely be back. You should definitely check out the atmosphere and try the delicious mead! There is also a small shop.

Medieval restaurant in a former church, staff appropriately dressed and linguistically trained. The food was very tasty, the portions were sufficient and the cow's tail beer, a local specialty, was excellent. The service was very friendly and quick. We will come back the next time we visit Tangermünde.

Always nice to spend a nice evening there. Friendly service, great atmosphere and of course great food. As we noticed this year, an evening with a program is also offered for smaller groups. We love being in Tangermünde and a visit here is definitely a must.

We were totally thrilled with the walls. It's easy to feel like a nobleman here, even in a hoodie and jeans. The ox cheeks were an extended poem. That we can only recommend. The ladies at this hostel were very friendly and polite.

Medieval evening - an unforgettable family experience In our search for a medieval tavern in northern Germany and centrally located, we discovered the Sankt Nikolai mine in Tangermünde near the Schrotkontor by chance. The medieval carousing in a historic building offers everything we needed for a big reunion with medieval garb, simply great. The cuisine from “Mama”, the juggler and the beer were magnificent and very memorable. Everything was served in a rustic manner and on a large table. Sebastian has a lot to say about the entire building. So we can look back on a wonderful evening and will definitely come back again. Thank you.

The carousing is a small experience. Before you go into the restaurant, you first go through a sales area. There you can marvel at and buy medieval costumes and all sorts of accessories for medieval life. Then, in the restaurant itself, the Kühn Schwanz beer surprises you, light or dark. The cherry beer is also recommended. The menu is not overly crowded and the food was good and plentiful, but not too much either. The most expensive meal is also affordable at just under 25 euros. I only found the chairs to be extremely uncomfortable. The service, again, was friendly and professional.

The restaurant has a medieval atmosphere, it is very cool and well decorated. The waiters are dressed accordingly and are very friendly. The food depends on what you order, it's not bad. I tried the schnitzel and the pork cheeks. Of the two dishes, I choose the schnitzel. For dessert, there were only 2 options (mascarpone cake and chocolate puff pastry cake), and we liked neither of them. I would recommend ordering only main dishes and beer.

Gemütliches Lokal in einer ehemaligen Kirche mit mittelalterlichem Ambiente. Das Personal ist aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen ist lecker und hübsch angerichtet.

Essen war unnormal lecker gibt kein besseres Restaurant

Ein sehr schönes und gemütliches Ambiente. Wir hatten die Feuerzangenbowle und den Herr Lehrer. Es war alles in einem ein sehr lustiger Abend. Ich hatte Bratkartoffeln mit Schnitzel und etwas Salat, nichts Weltbewegendes, aber dennoch schon mal besser gegessen. Wir hatten den Raum direkt am WC....und ich muss sagen ich bin froh ganz vorn am Lehrertisch gesessen zu haben. Sobald man etwas nach hinten gegangen ist, kam einem ein richtig ekelhafter und penetranter Uringeruch entgegen. Der Service war sehr freundlich und schnell. Ein richtig schönes gemütliches Häuschen, ich würde auf jedenfall wiederkommen! Viele Grüße

Super Atmosphäre. Wir hatten eine Vereinsfeier und zu dem Essen einen Gaukler gebucht. Kurz um: habe schon lange nicht mehr so viel gelacht. Einfach super da.

Wir wollen um 15.00 zwei Kuhschwanzbier trinken und wurden abgewiesen. Mit der Begründung.....sie hätten heute Abend ein voller Haus und daher keine Zeit. Wir kommen seit 20 Jahren zum Essen und Trinken und das immer gerne. Heute war es unser letzter Besuch. '

Schade. Wir kommen seit Jahren nach Tangermünde und immer war das Kuhschwanzbier in der Zecherei obligatorisch. Auch heute war das unser Plan. Öffnungszeiten ab 12 Uhr. Um 15 Uhr wollten wir unser Bier trinken und wurden abgewiesen mit der Begründung, dass abends alles reserviert ist, sie noch Karten drucken müssen und irgendwann eindecken müssen. Geht gar nicht. 0 Sterne für den Service gehen leider nicht.

Mal ganz was anderes vom Ambiente her aber sehr leckeres Essen und super schnelle und freundliche Bedienung wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder 🤤😁

Nettes Restaurant, mit außergewöhnlichem Ambiente, was so nicht alltäglich ist. Essenstechnisch für uns als Vegetarier aber leider ein totaler Reinfall. Es gibt 3 vegetarische Gerichte auf der Karte, jedoch machen alle drei den Eindruck, dass die Küche weder Lust hat diese zu kochen, noch dass sie die Gerichte jemals selber probiert haben. Der Höhepunkt war der Ofenkäse, ein billiger Schimmelkäse aus dem Supermarkt mit ein paar Champignons drauf geschmissen. Sehr lieblos und quasi nur ein Ball aus Fett, kaum genießbar. Die vegetarischen Bratlinge waren hausgemacht, jedoch sehr geschmacksneutral. Insgesamt sehr kleine Portionen, wir mussten uns danach beim Bäcker ein belegtes Brötchen holen um annähernd satt zu werden. Ergo: Vllt. nett für Fleischgenuss, für Vegetarier absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Die Zecherei ist sehr urig und konzeptionell vom Gastrokonzept auf das Mittelalter ausgerichtet. So fühlen sich hier Knappen, Minesänger, Hofdamen, Adlige und Ritter der Tafelrunde gut aufgehoben. Tolle Location, leckeres Kuhschwanzbier und tolle Mitbringsel aus dem Ladensshop. Freundlicher authentischer Service. Ideal für Mittelalterfans, Familien-und Firmenevents.

Ohne Reservierung geht gar nichts. Zum lesen der Speisekarte, ist es ratsam, eine kleine Taschenlampe mit zu nehmen. Nur Kerzenleuchter auf dem Tisch. Bitte viel Zeit einplanen! Von Bestellung der Speisen bis zur Servierung vergingen bei mir und meinen Freunden fast 1 3/4 Stunde. Sonst tolles Ambiente. Hatten viel Spaß.

Die Einrichtung ist einfach phantastisch, das Essen war super, Mägde und Knechte sind freundlich und sehr engagiert. Unbedingt Plätze reservieren.

Die Speisen konnten leider nicht mit dem mittelalterlichen Ambiente mithalten. Die Fleischspeisen waren ordentlich gemacht. Für Vegetarier haben sie auch etwas, aber es war etwas lieblos... Da wir eine Stunde auf die Speisen warten mussten - das kommt wohl öfter vor - , nur 3 Sterne.

Ein Kulturhistorischer Ort der aus einer anderen Epoche zur Rast einlädt. Sowohl das Essen als auch die Kellner waren toll, wir kommen bestimmt wieder!

Oder wie soll ich das sonst deuten, mitten beim Essen fiel plötzlich mit einem Knall eine Kerze aus dem Ständer auf dem Tisch... Volle 5 Sterne gebe ich hier gerne.

Es war super schön dort und das Essen war lecker und das Ambiente sehr angenehm und warm.... Gerne mal wieder ein Besuch dort.
