Gorgeous! Very friendly and delicious food.

Definitely worth a visit. The food was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. Wonderful atmosphere and attention to detail.

It must have been at least 10 years since I was last here. Unfortunately, I remembered it better. The menu, very small, only 3 main courses, Hamburger schnitzel, cheeks and kale. When I go out to eat in such a great atmosphere, I actually expect a rustic meal. A leg, ribs... something you can eat. We ordered the Hamburger Schnitzel which tasted good but wasn't enough for a full grown man. Of course I could have asked beforehand what there was to eat there.

In October we were in Tangermünde and spent a lovely evening in the carousal. The medieval flair is simply fantastic. It was advertised for New Year's Eve 2024 and we booked straight away. Unfortunately we were really disappointed. Unfortunately, it had nothing to do with a medieval and fairytale evening, as promised. Music from the 80s on tape was the entire entertainment. The DJ sat impassively nearby. Some guests disappeared early because they, too, had promised themselves something else. The food was good, the service was friendly, but the price-performance ratio was irrelevant for the entire event. We were especially from Dresden arrived and celebrated there in medieval locations, which were also appropriate. It's a shame, Tangermünde actually represents this era, but unfortunately we don't have fond memories of New Year's Eve.

This place was amazing. The food tasted incredible and suitably matched the atmosphere of the restaurant, which was worth a visit just in itself. It was everything I could have hoped for when looking into this place. The staff was very nice and they even have a little shop where you can buy medevial style clothes and accessories which were a lot cheaper than your average medieval market. Highly recommend to anyone, I wish I could eat here more often!

It was always so nice, but, also nice. It's over at some point... sitting in the aisle and in the kitchen and that price... no thanks... 5 years in a row are enough at some point... it's a shame... never that's all it takes for us 🤐

We were there during the Christmas market in Tangermünde. We had reserved and got a nice, large table. The ambience is of course unbeatable. What surprised me was that the food was very tasty. I had the wild goulash and it was with wild mushrooms and it was the first time I tasted red cabbage in the restaurant. The portion was too small for the men, but it was enough for me. Everything took a little longer but the service staff was very nice. We have already reserved a table for the next visit.

Small but nice card. Very tasty food. A cruet on the table is not necessary. The schnitzels are fresh and (buttery) tender. Big praise! P.S. Be sure to choose the fried potatoes as a side dish. Highly recommended!!!

The first time we eat in a church!! Little choice of dishes, but we ate with pleasure. As a curiosity: they have their own beer called Kuhschwanz "cow tail". The town is very beautiful, worth a visit.

We have been visiting the Sankt Nikolai Zecherei regularly for 15 years now, and every time it feels like coming home. This restaurant has become our absolute favorite place - a place full of cosiness, charm and authenticity. The atmosphere here is simply incomparable. In a former church from the Middle Ages, with dimmed lights and an almost mystical atmosphere, you feel like you have been transported directly to another time. The warm, slightly dark ambience ensures that you immediately relax and forget about everyday life. Bright light? None! Instead, you can expect pleasant, subdued lighting that invites you to spend long, relaxing evenings. The kitchen? Home cooking, the way you want it – honest, hearty and served with a pinch of medieval romance. People still cook properly here and you can taste it! The dishes are hearty and full of flavor, perfect for anyone who appreciates good food. But that's not all: Zecherei is known for catering to special requests - and I speak from experience! I am known for being very particular and sometimes a bit stubborn in my orders. But here in the carousing it is always met with a smile and the greatest effort. A small example: Every time I come with very special requests, and every time they are fulfilled with the greatest patience and dedication - even if they probably sometimes get on the cook's last nerve. But the cook is not only talented, but also incredibly humorous and loving when dealing with her guests. This time I even got a carrot put on my plate as a thank you - a little wink for my special wishes! This personal touch and the warm treatment simply make the difference and make you want to come back every time. The service at Zecherei Sankt Nikolai is also excellent. Our waiter was attentive and took care of my every little request. He complemented the atmosphere perfectly, always friendly, courteous and with a smile on his face. You can tell that a well-rehearsed team works here, who work with joy and commitment and ensure the well-being of the guests. For us, Zecherei Sankt Nikolai is a place where you can not only eat well, but also feel really welcome. The mix of warm hospitality, authentic ambience and down-to-earth, delicious home cooking makes this restaurant something very special. It's no wonder that we have been loyal guests for 15 years and are thrilled every time. Many thanks to the entire team at Zecherei Sankt Nikolai for the wonderful evenings we were able to spend here. You are truly one of the best and warmest restaurants there is! We are already looking forward to the next time and are excited to see what little surprises await us again.

Very pleasant atmosphere, the angry waitress was very nice. Rarely have we eaten such delicious beef. Definitely recommended.

Thanks for the delicious dinner. I had a Hamburger Schnitzel with fried potatoes and coleslaw. A poem the whole meal. Plus two light cow tail beers. The beef cheeks are also recommended. Everything's great! When I'm in Tangermünde I try to get a place at the Sankt Nicolei mine. That puts me in a good mood.

Great restaurant, only the kale is inedible.

If you're looking for something a little more extravagant next to the usual restaurants, you've come to the right place. The food was good and we were full, prices were quite high for the portions. We found the combination of beef and mashed sweet potatoes to be unsuitable. Green beans with bacon and maybe simple potatoes or coarse potato wedges, that would have been really tasty (especially with the dark beef sauce). Kind regards and all the best.

We spontaneously asked for a table for 4 people and half an hour later we were sitting comfortably in a very rustic location. The food was exceptionally good and freshly prepared. 5 full points. Tangermünder Kuh Schwanz beer is a local specialty and you have to try it - it's also very good. The owners put a lot of effort into integrating the ambience of an old church into a catering establishment. We really liked it and would highly recommend it.

Jedes Mal, wenn wir in Tangermünde sind ( jeden Monat) ist ein Besuch in der Zecherei Pflicht! Das Ambiente ist toll (alte Kirche), das Essen ist wirklich lecker ( und ausreichend) und das Personal ist so, wie man es sich wünscht wenn man einen schönen Abend haben möchte! Beste Bedienung: ALEX <3 Sie ist einfach 11/10! Das kann ich als Kellnerin neidlos unterschreiben!

So soll es sein! Bei einem mehrtägigen Aufenthalt in Tangermünde haben wir in der Zecherei vorbeigeschaut. Ohne Reservierung haben wir einen schönen Platz im ordentlich gefüllten Restaurant gefunden. Erstklassige und sehr aufmerksame Bedienung, Karte, die für jeden etwas bietet, schnelle gut funktionierende Küche und dann schmecken auch noch Essen und Bier! Eine vielseitige und ideenreiche Einrichtung mit viel Liebe zum Detail in der es viel zu entdecken gibt. Eine absolute Empfehlung!

Hello everyone, we were on site today...35 minutes until the food arrived...you have to say it tastes really good and just the quantity could be a little more! E.g. the Baumkuchen could be twice as big at €5...! for children only one dish is a bit thin - the first table directly is of course extremely inconvenient if the door is constantly opening and then being kept open! The map definitely needs to be updated because it doesn't match the maps on the internet and it can't be like the soft drinks Cola and co. The list is completely confusing when it comes to size, some of us felt cheated but we'll take another look at it and then hope that a third waiter or waitress comes along! Lg

Very tasty, the restaurant and the menu is also particularly beautifully designed including the staff. The toilet could be more modern. Only the service wasn't enough for the number of guests, which meant it took a little longer to order or clear away, but that wasn't a problem for us. From ordering to serving it was quick :-)

The location itself is quite nice with the medieval atmosphere. Unfortunately the first waiter is quite overwhelmed. Long waiting time until the food comes (approx. 30 minutes) The food tastes very good, but it's not enough for the high price (schnitzel with fried potatoes and a bite of salad €26).

Nice authentic place with home-brewed beer. Black beer, in my opinion, a bit too sour. But tastes differ.

Super Ambiente in einem Gebäude, was eine ehemalige Kirche an einem der Stadttore war. Die Speisen waren sehr gut und man fand das eine oder andere Besondere auf der Karte. Die Bedienung war erstklassig und auch das dunkle Tangermünder Kuhschwanzbier sollte man probiert haben.

The price-performance ratio is not quite right. The service is quite superficial, sometimes confused and the kitchen is slow. The location is of course quite impressive and attracts guests. However, you may also end up sitting on wobbly chairs and in a complete draught. This is probably supposed to seem authentic and is part of the setting 🤷‍♀️. In any case, we won't be going there anymore.

What a carousing! We are active in the medieval scene ourselves. And this location makes the heart of every medieval fanatic beat faster. But first things first... The inn is located in an almost 800-year-old church building, which has been de-dedicated as a church for over 500 years. During this time the building has had a lively history, which can be read online here. Since 2000, a restaurant has been housed there, which is a real delight for both the happy reveler and the hungry traveler. The ambience is medieval, you eat in the large hall, in the tub (bathing - yes... you read that right, you can bathe there too!), in the confessional or under the pulpit, the staff is dressed in medieval clothing and knows what they're doing so-called “market language”, a medieval-looking language. You will be served in a friendly manner. The menu is clear and fits on two DIN A4 pages, and the dishes are also suitable for those on a budget. The dishes are delicious. The "coffee pot" is huge and even the coffee (although not medieval :-) ) is served as befits a medieval inn. If you want to have a hearty party, this is the right place for you. However, you definitely need to pre-order because the store is buzzing! We were simply patient and were lucky: a reserved table was not occupied, so we were allowed to occupy it after a reasonable waiting period. It was worth it! Added to your wish list and will visit again soon!

We bought a dress there for the Medieval Festival in Wittenberg and a shirt for myself. As you can imagine, both are not cheap 😉 But whatever. What doesn't work at all is the staff. Was very rude and cheeky 😕. Fitting in front of the toilets. It doesn't work at all. We shouldn't be like this. Price reduction was also not possible and we also have to pay for a mini paper bag. That was a really bad purchase. We won't go there anymore. We actually wanted to eat something there but we forgot

Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy our visit to this restaurant at all. The portions are meager, the price is hefty and cannot be justified. A latte that tasted really strange. Since we were allowed to pay over 30€ for a small bowl of asparagus, 3 potato thalers with rocket, 1 mineral water and 1 latte and were still not full, we quickly drove to Rathenow to the Italian restaurant and had a delicious meal there - for 32€ something to drink. We will visit Tangermünde again, but definitely not the carousing.

We've never had such a rustic meal before. We were taken to the confessional but were served courteously. The food and cow's tail beer tasted excellent. Gladly again.

It was a nice experience with history. But everything was very dark, just like it used to be. I didn't really feel comfortable there. However, the food was tip top, really good, and the special beer too!

If you want to be treated as a servant, you've come to the right place. A table at the entrance with a bench for children. A candle chandelier that goes out again after 1/2 hour. 4 carelessly stored dishes letter for 6 people. Wheelchair disabled people who are dragged to the toilet on the first floor. A lavish meal that is not reflected in the costs. After 1/4 year of ordering tables, I expected more. More friendliness from the service would have been nice.

The food and the medieval ambience are great. The al dente asparagus with homemade hollondaise sauce was accompanied by the best pork schnitzel, very good beer and friendly service.

Unfortunately, the preparation was for a celebration and there was only one meal. This tasted very good, it was beef cheeks with homemade mashed potatoes. We were sitting outside and across the street ZDF was filming a scene from the series "With Heart and Holly". I don't know it, but it was still interesting. I would maybe visit the restaurant again if we were on vacation in the city.

Simply great experience gastronomy

Great location! A place steeped in history where the locally famous Kuh Schwanz beer (very drinkable) is served. Prices for beer and food ok. I had raccoon liver cheese and it was very good. Not enough to fill you up, but that's what the waitress told me. Just wanted to try it. Can only be recommended to tourists! Tangermünde is worth a trip anyway.

If you want to experience something special, you have to eat here. We are excited.

A little hidden at the end of the shopping street. You immediately feel like you have been transported to another time, inside and outside. The special beer is very tasty. Definitely stay there. Parking is best free in the harbor area.

Very good, rustic restaurant in a medieval atmosphere, which is also exemplified by the staff. The food tasted very good and was freshly prepared, so the short waiting time is completely justifiable. In short, we felt comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Despite the medieval atmosphere, payment was possible with plastic money or contactless, so it was definitely contemporary.

Wir waren vergangener Woche beruflich in Tangermünde unterwegs. Aufgrund der Bewertungen haben wir uns für die Zecherei entschieden. Ich und der Kollege hatten als Vorspeise die Suppe (Einsamkeit, mit Knoblauch) und danach ich den Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffel und dazu Zwei Kuhschwanzbier :) Unser Tisch war im Beichthaus (in irgendeinen Bild habe ich gesehen), total lustig, das Ambiente mega und das Essen sehr lecker. Wenn ich erneut in Tangermünde sein sollte werde ich dieses Lokal erneut besuche. Volle Empfehlung

Such a wonderful atmosphere to be in, totally enjoyed our time there. Only given 3 for the food as the chef had left and had only 2 choices, I tried a very German dish which I didn't like.. But it did not spoil how much I enjoyed my time there. Highly recommendable

Great prepared medieval tavern in an old church.. Atmosphere, people, location, surroundings.. everything was great. The food was delicious, the drink selection was very good! However, the menu didn't quite suit our taste this time. We would have liked more hearty meat dishes. The portion of beef cheeks was quite small when I see comparison pictures here. But... it was definitely delicious... and we'll definitely be back. You should definitely check out the atmosphere and try the delicious mead! There is also a small shop.
