Schiffsgaststätte Störtebeker in Tangermünde

I sat upstairs for a birthday party. Women had to keep their jackets on because it was February 22nd—oh my gosh, it's winter! It was freezing cold. The appetizer salad with remoulade dressing was awful. Nothing happened between 6:30 pm and 8:05 pm. An hour and a half for some gyros and two pieces of meat? Wow, that's incredibly long. Then the food arrived, which was rather cold. They forgot the fries, the mayonnaise, and there was no salt and pepper on the table. They tried, but it was a complete disaster! Two stars for the effort; I can't give any more. Update: Much better now.

Unfortunately, the communication between the waiters is so bad that they ask you every two seconds if you have ordered, and this is done by six different waiters. This creates an unpleasant atmosphere and you are quickly escorted out. Nevertheless, the food tastes great and so that you do not have time to rush to judge, they serve you plenty of ouzo. We ate here again, as we do every year for the pottery market. We were very pleased with the food and service again this year. I hope we can repeat next year.

Very good food and a very acceptable waiting time despite the restaurant being extremely full.

The fish was very similar to dried fish, the souvlaki had only seen the grill from a distance, but the pan-fried dish was heavily seasoned. It's a shame, the usual quality was lacking. The staff was friendly and attentive.

The gyro is truly delicious. For my taste, it could have used more onions and tzatziki. On my next visit and other dishes, there was more tzatziki on it. The salad to start with is modest (iceberg lettuce with grated carrots). You can sit inside the boat or on deck. The deck can be closed off with windows, which is great when it's windy.

The atmosphere of eating outside on board is something special. The food was okay. Unfortunately, it felt like a mass processing operation and very loud.

Normal prices, normal, tasty Greek food. The restaurant was busy on a Friday evening, but we still managed to get a table for two without a reservation after a short wait. The furnishings on the ship are simple but still wonderfully comfortable. The staff are friendly and zip back and forth. We felt completely at home. The ship's slight list alone should be compensated for with the ouzo. Thanks to the restaurant team.

Great food and a fantastic view of the Elbe. The waiters were extremely friendly and attentive. We'd be happy to come back. EDIT: Unfortunately, the service and the food have declined considerably. A year ago, the portions were still generous, and there were more than one ouzo. However, the beautiful view and ambiance alone won't be enough for us anymore.

The restaurant ship is highly recommended. Its location on the Tangermünde River offers a beautiful view of the water and the castle. We got a good seat even without a reservation. The food was prepared freshly and was very tasty. Uzo was also available.

Not recommended. The wine was much too warm; I asked for some ice cubes. I received two and added €1.50 to the bill. The staff was very hectic, and we had to remind them three times that we wanted to pay.

It was very loud, the waiters kept coming by and asking but sometimes didn't understand what we wanted, we definitely won't be coming back.

The food was awful: the grilled fish came completely raw inside, although it had been burned from the outside. The gyros was tasteless: the sauce tasted like a canned one, the chicken meat was very dry. The waitor tried to convince that the food was just Greek and tasted differently.

We visited this restaurant today and were thrilled. The dishes were super delicious, with plenty of choice. I could hardly decide what to order. The portions were generous, and the prices, however, were quite reasonable. The view is, of course, fantastic. What was a bit disappointing was that it was quite loud and hectic. Lots of people were coming and going, and the hectic staff kept us busy. Nevertheless, we were extremely satisfied and would gladly return.

You should definitely bring some time; we waited for two hours, and in the end, I got rice even though I ordered fries. They must have forgotten that I didn't want rice and left it. The servers are super friendly, but that didn't matter after that time. The place is a bit dated; a lick of paint here and there wouldn't have gone wrong. All in all, three stars...

The food tastes good, but I've enjoyed it at every Greek restaurant I've ever been to. Our waiters were hard-working, polite, and always on the go. The atmosphere on the ship was different from what you'd normally expect; I thought it was great. I'd be happy to come back. 👍

We've eaten here several times. The location makes it easy to come back again and again. The service is also excellent, as everything is very quick (although it's not for everyone). The food is perfectly fine and tasty, but more on the standard delicious side. There's plenty of ouzo to go with it.

Disappointing!!! Mass processing!!! Waiters don't speak German well (or only pretend to), approach hectically, and your plate is quickly snatched away – not particularly relaxing if you want to enjoy a leisurely meal with a group/family. The food is brought to you without comment, without being informed that certain items are no longer in stock, and when you ask, they don't even offer an alternative. A few minutes later, however, you see that guests at the next table are getting exactly the same "non-existent" food. You feel a bit ripped off! We won't be going there again.

In any case, the restaurant on the Störtebeker ship is highly recommended. They serve good, tasty food and plenty of ouzo to help you digest. The service staff are very friendly and, above all, attentive. The view from the window of the Elbe River and the surrounding landscape is very relaxing.

I would recommend it to anyone who likes Greek food. The view is simply fabulous, and the setting is fantastic! (A little tip: reserve a table for yourself, as it fills up quickly.)

Very friendly staff, fast service. Ideal for families. Access to the restaurant is a bit difficult, but that's due to the low water level of the Elbe. The stairs to the upper floor and the panoramic deck are also very difficult for elderly people and those with walking difficulties.

The restaurant is beautifully situated on a ship on the Elbe River. Despite the large number of guests on the evening of my visit, we were served very promptly by friendly waiters. The food was delicious and served in generous portions.

I was there after the reopening. The staff was unfriendly and the experience was bad. Not for the elderly. The boat dock was too steep. I wouldn't recommend it.

I was a guest here with my wife at the beginning of 2024 (Greek buffet). What can I say - the food was okay. As expected, the buffet was invaded by "Pirania guests." Not my thing - but you don't have to like everything! But the host is nice! We were here again on May 14, 2025. We had a very nice table for two aft on the upper deck in perfect weather. The food was very good, the service attentive, the weather great, thumbs up!

This restaurant is just great. Great service, great food and a great ambience.

Well, you don't have to have it. Quite hectic, dishes come one after the other and ouzo in a fourth jug without a shot glass, everything is a bit careless.

Check-in like in a train station bar. The food (starter) came 5 minutes after ordering and the main course wasn't finished yet, but not all at once, the side dishes came 5 minutes later. The Uso served came in a jug without glasses and still water was only available in a glass. Very uncomfortable

On the ship's upper deck. Food is very tasty and drinking comes almost ad hoc. Ouzo comes several times. I can really recommend it.

Good classical Greek. It can be a bit hectic at times, but the waiters are all friendly and attentive. The ouzo is definitely not skimpy here...it is always topped up again and again. We often come here for family birthday parties and can recommend it for both the food and the ambience

Absolutely great! Extremely nice staff, delicious food and great prices too! The overall package is perfect here! We were there with a group of around 23 people and everyone was more than satisfied! Keep it up, we'll be back.

The name of the restaurant doesn't suggest that it is a Greek restaurant and we were very pleasantly surprised. Even when the restaurant is busy, the team doesn't panic, but is attentive and very friendly. The offering is very good and the food is very tasty. It wasn't the last time we were there and we would like to come back more often.

Once it was very good, this time it was very bad. Food didn't taste good, it was carelessly packed on the plate, mushroom sauce without mushrooms and the quality was probably all from the metro. Service is friendly but a bit too busy for me personally, people ask about your order dozens of times every minute, sometimes different people come and sometimes you are asked again what you would like to drink despite having placed your order. While eating, you wanted to clear away. The ship has a great view of the Elbe on the deck and thanks to the glass you are very protected from the wind. The ship is visibly getting old, a coat of paint would be good, including on the inside.

In general, I'm a big fan of Störtebeker and we always enjoy coming here. But this time something was different, the staff was stressed due to the many guests. Unfortunately, the service suffered somewhat as a result. Food was brought incorrectly but replacement was offered immediately. Nevertheless, I would go back on the ship as a guest at any time because the food tastes great and you feel like you are in good hands.

A wonderful location for our 15th wedding anniversary. The food was fantastic, the service quick and friendly. And the ambience? Well, a restaurant ship on the Elbe on a warm summer evening. What is there to complain about? Of particular note: I accidentally ordered the wrong dish (I got the number wrong). Liver, of all things, which unfortunately I don't like at all. That was entirely my fault. The dish was changed without any problems and without charge. The staff shouldn't have done that. Many thanks to the whole team, we'll be happy to come back when we're in Tangermünde.

The garlic potatoes are only for die-hard people who want more garlic than potatoes. But otherwise there is nothing to complain about.

The drinks and appetizer came very quickly. However, I only ate three spoonfuls of the starter when the main course arrived. I ordered lamb fillet and got lamb salmon which of course was a world of difference and I felt a bit ripped off because a chef should know these differences.

Unfortunately it was too loud on the terrace as it was very full.

Similar to the mother house “Rhodes” delicious food. The ambience is very idyllic due to the location directly at the mouth of the Tangier and the Elbe. The welcome ouzo is probably only given out to permanent staff or locals and is refilled every now and then. Tourists (not just us on this day) apparently only receive the drink upon request. A pity!

The view from the ship offers a nice change from the usual views of the city center. The food we ordered, a grill plate for two people, was extremely tasty. As a side dish there were garlic potatoes and tzatziki, you definitely can't go wrong with that. As a starter there was a salad, the chef must have been in love with it, as the saying goes. 😂

Food has deteriorated a lot. Meat dry. Portions have become smaller. No more tomatoes and cucumbers in the salad. Staff very friendly and quick. But from 9 p.m. onwards you notice that the staff wants to call it a day. It's a shame, as people from Tangermünde, we always loved eating at the Störtebeker.
