Yaku-Restaurante in Hamburg

Oh mein Gott! Ich war vor sieben Tagen dort essen und denke immer noch voller Sehnsucht an diesen Ort! Der Thunfisch Mar Nikkei ist einfach himmlisch – so frisch und köstlich! Wir mussten das leicht scharfe, leckere Brot dazu bestellen, um die Sauce aufzutunken, aber am liebsten hätten wir den Teller abgeleckt. Unser Sohn hatte die Quesadilla, aber wir haben seine Reste aufgegessen, weil wir einfach nicht aufhören konnten. Das Ceviche Original war ein Traum, und die Jakobsmuscheln sollten mit einem Löffel serviert werden, damit man die köstlichen Saucen nicht liegen lässt. Dieses Essen werde ich nie vergessen. Ein wahrgewordener Traum für jeden Feinschmecker! Vielen Dank!

Wir waren vor ein paar Wochen dort und haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Essen war fantastisch und auch wenn es auf den ersten Blick nach einer kleinen Portion aussah, war es mehr als ausreichend. Der Schweinebauch war extrem lecker. Der Service war äußerst freundlich und Unklarheiten über die Speisen wurden sofort geklärt. Leider ist der Sitzbereich vorm Tresen, wo wir saßen, nicht sehr geräumig und die Nachbarn am anderen Tisch saßen quasi bei uns mit am Tisch. Muss man mögen. Zudem trübt eine Baustelle vor dem Laden den Eindruck, aber da kann natürlich das Restaurant nichts für. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, wenn wir das nächste Mal in der Nähe sind.

Ein absolutes Muss für alle, die ungewöhnliche Gerichte mit deutlich südamerikanischem Einfluss lieben. Service und Atmosphäre waren erstklassig. Einer der besten Orte für Cocktails mit Pisco. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Alles ausgezeichnet! Toller und äußerst freundlicher Service. Das Essen war großartig; von der Vorspeise bis zur Nachspeise - alles tiptop! Location gemütlich und man fühlt sich ausgesprochen wohl! Jederzeit wieder.

Eine echte Entdeckung für uns. Selten so viele spannende Aromen in einer so stimmigen Kombination erlebt. Die Gerichte waren fein zubereitet, geschmacklich wunderbar abgestimmt und auch die Schärfe an den richtigen Stellen wirklich perfekt eingesetzt. Besonders der Schweinebauch war absolut der Hammer — hervorragend zubereitet, voller Geschmack und definitiv eines der Highlights des Abends. Man merkt sofort, dass hier authentisch gekocht wird und viel Liebe zum Detail in der Küche steckt. Dazu gute, passende Weine zu absolut fairem Preis. Insgesamt ein richtig schöner Abend mit sehr gutem Essen und toller Atmosphäre. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Sehr nettes Ambiente, sehr netter Service aber sparsame Speisekarte die sehr Fischlastig ist und (für einen meiner Begleiter sehr schade) wenig vegane Gerichte bietet. Der 16h gegarte Schweinebauch war aber hervorragend!

Ich hatte vorher noch nie peruanische Küche probiert und war total begeistert. Die Qualität war hervorragend und die Kombination der verschiedenen Aromen und Zutaten war für mich völlig neu und einzigartig. Unbedingt die Ente in Schokoladensoße und den vegetarischen „Schweinebauch“ probieren – er gehört ehrlich gesagt zu den besten Fleischalternativen, die ich je gegessen habe.

Ich war anlässlich eines Geburtstags im Yaku – das Restaurant war voll, daher war der Service etwas langsam, aber das Essen war superfrisch und die Cocktails waren absolut köstlich!

Essen sehr gut, unser €20 NeoTaste Gutschein durften wir nur leider nicht einlösen - hätte man wohl vor der ersten Bestellung ankündigen müssen (stand in der englischen App-Version leider nicht), Kellner war dazu leider recht unfreundlich („Können Sie nicht lesen?“). Fehler der NeoTaste-App, aber absolut unfreundliche Reaktion.

Mein Lieblingsladen in Hamburg. Absolutes hidden secret. Unglaublich gutes und kreatives Essen, regelmäßig wechselnde Karte, nette Bedienung und gute Pisco Sour. Schon viele tolle Abende hier gehabt!

Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Die Gerichte waren sehr kreativ angerichtet und wahnsinnig lecker. Die Karte ist nicht riesig (was uns insbesondere bei Fleisch- und Fischgerichten positiv auffiel), aber dennoch fiel es uns schwer, uns für Vor- und Hauptspeise zu entscheiden, da alles fantastisch klang. Die Getränke waren ebenso besonders und so war das Essen perfekt. Zudem war die Bedienung sehr freundlich, wir kommen also definitiv wieder!

Wenn wir etwas zu feiern haben, ist es einer unserer Lieblingsorte. Ceviche ist immer mein Favorit, aber auch die Vorspeisen sind hervorragend, und wir probieren gerne jedes Mal etwas anderes. Die Fleischgerichte sind ebenfalls köstlich. Sehr empfehlenswert für besondere Abende oder einfach, um sich kulinarisch verwöhnen zu lassen.

Absolutely delicious food with a great Mexican twist. Great flavors and really friendly service. The mole was a major highlight!

Choosing Yaku for a warm afternoon dinner was definitely a good choice. We ordered Ceviche as a starter and tasted the foamy and citric Pisco Sour, both worth it. Then I got Puebla Fresa, my first time trying duck and it was such a good way, very nice texture and it had an unexpected sweetness by the sauce and tortillas. Whereas my girlfriend had an octopus which was so good. We finished the food with a dessert "Tocino del cielo", it was a very sweet flan, maybe a bit too thick but reminded me of dulce de leche bt milky flavour. The staff was super friendly and nice. There was salsa music in the background in a perfect volume, being able to both, talk and enjoy the music. Although we were sitting outside next to the sidewlk, due to the location of the restaurant, it felt pretty quiet and comfortable. It's my favorite restaurant in the city so far and I'm very looking forward to visiting it again!

A wonderful experience. The original homemade soft drinks pleasantly surprised us. The wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages was a delight. Our dishes were well-crafted, generous, and full of flavor. Flawless.

The food was elegantly presented, but the quality and quantity were inadequate. Service was excellent until it became clear we weren't entirely satisfied. After that, it became dismissive and cold. We won't be coming back.

Great restaurant, very cozy. The food is delicious and the service is simply first-class. The waiter is very attentive, taking his time with guests and answering all their questions. We especially recommend the ceviche and octopus, but all the other dishes are also delicious. Everyone who comes here should also try the homemade chicha morada, a Peruvian drink (non-alcoholic)! The coconut dessert is also highly recommended.

It was a special experience, an explosion of flavors of the finest quality. But first things first. Beautiful location in the Rothenbaum, a small, shady terrace facing the street. The cocktails are all deliciously prepared. We would have loved to have all the appetizers, but we narrowed it down to six different ones and were blown away. Carlos, the chef, shows how diverse, lively, and light Peruvian/Mexico cuisine can taste. The main courses were also delicious. The service was excellent. Friendly, present, but not intrusive. Mittlerweile sind wir schon mehrmals im Yaku eingekehrt. Stets macht es Spaß, etwas Neues zu entdecken. Die Speisen haben hohes kulinarisches Niveau. Verwendet werden frische fruchtige Aromen, die mit feinen scharfen Gewürzen pikant aber behutsam abgeschmeckt werden. Auch die Desserts können verwöhnte mitteleuropäische Gaumen erfreuen! Wundervoll sind auch die Limonaden. Und erfreulich, dass es Riesling vom Weingut Bassermann gibt. Schön, dass im Sommer die Fenster zu Seite geschoben werden, so dass man zugleich drinnen wie draußen sitzen kann und man bei angenehmer Temperatur Teil der Straßenszene wird.

I've rarely eaten so well in Hamburg. The two of us had a starter and three main courses, which was more than enough for us. We especially enjoyed the ceviche! Incredibly friendly service!

Authentic Peruvian-Mexican cuisine can be found on a quiet street. Brilliant portion size, a price-performance ratio that can't be beaten and warm service that leaves nothing to be desired. Anyone going on a trip. If you want a culinary trip to South America and only have 1-2 hours, YaKu is a clear recommendation.

The food was so-so. Unfortunately, the service didn't improve the impression, despite the high prices - the staff seemed absent and was sometimes unfriendly. We have already enjoyed better Peruvian food and therefore had higher expectations. It's a shame, we were looking forward to an authentic experience, but were disappointed.

Our visit to the Yaku Restaurant was a real highlight! The dishes are interpreted in a modern way without losing the authentic Peruvian flavors. We can particularly recommend the shrimp tartare – fresh, cleverly seasoned and a perfect start to the evening. The service was friendly and competent, the atmosphere relaxed. If you love Peruvian cuisine or want to rediscover it, this is the right place for you. We'd love to come back!

Absolutely great experience. Elevated peruvian and mexican food, giving it a touch of sophistication. I went there with 7 more friends for a birthday and ordered most of the menu (including appetizers), we all were amazed by the taste and presentation of the dishes. I personally got blown out with the mole, absolutely delicious, silky and perfectly balanced. 1000% recommended

We were there spontaneously and absolutely loved it! We got a table straight away (Saturday evening, 7 p.m.), the atmosphere was cozy, the service was extremely friendly and attentive and his food recommendations were absolutely top! The food came quickly and was pure enjoyment. My personal highlight was the Encanelado at the end. 🤤 I haven't been this excited about a restaurant in a long time and I'll definitely be back! 😊

I had a terrible experience in this restaurant! My sister found two blonde hairs in her plate (we are both brunettes) , and communicated to the waiter, who took her to the kitchen to show her that they don’t have anyone who is blonde in the staff! And told her that they only can offer %20 discount to the bill, although we barely touched our plates and drinks. The bill came without the %20 discount and we payed the full amount without even fulfilling their tiny promise of half gesture. Very manipulative!! I’m personally very disappointed especially that i was very excited to eat Peruvian food. I would rather spend my money in a place that at least respects the reputation of their own restaurant by ensuring the hygiene of their kitchen first and handling their customer’s concern with care and respect second. Never again and I recommend all to spend their money in a place where they get what they pay for.

U recently had a shockingly bad experience at this restaurant and feel compelled to warn others about it. When I went to start my meal, I found not one, but two blonde hairs in it. Completely disgusting! I could only take a few bites and two sips before I completely lost my appetite. When I asked the staff about it they actually took me into the kitchen and said it wasn't their problem as none of the staff were blonde. It felt like they were telling me I was crazy and brought the hair myself! Such treatment is simply unacceptable. It completely ruined my evening and was an absolutely lousy experience. We still had to pay the full amount of 45 euros, which is completely unreasonable. This review is intended to warn others about this place. Anyone expecting clean food and decent customer service should stay far away from this restaurant!

Peruvian cuisine with a twist! My wife and I visited Yaku on Saturday evening around 6:30 p.m. We received a very friendly welcome. Since we both work in TOP gastronomy and have a family background, it is particularly important to us to highlight this restaurant! Our host that evening was Piero. Top service with sales skills. The two of us had a total of 4 different starters. Then 2 main courses and then 2 desserts. We each drank 2 glasses of Primitivo and 2 Corona beers. As a side we had a bottle of water. The food was really an absolute pleasure. Peruvian cuisine is quite spicy, but this is not reflected in the dishes (in order to give the German palate a chance to enjoy it). From the taste to the look, it was absolutely top. As a restaurateur, I am very critical and pay close attention to price/performance. We were more than just convinced. The young cook came to our table and briefly introduced herself. I would also like to highlight you in particular. We are absolutely convinced of Yaku and the two of them (the rest of the team is also doing a very good job) We will definitely come back. Thank you for the wonderful evening. Greetings from Bonn!

Such a lovely evening and so delicious! The drinks were well mixed and the food was absolutely fantastic. The starter already convinced me and I will dream of ceviche from now on. The service was super friendly and accommodating, also very helpful with the choice of food. We'll definitely be back!

Absolute revelation! We have never had Peruvian cuisine before and what we had yesterday evening (shrimp tartare, tortillas with guacamole, confited duck, and ceviche with a bottle of riesling and dessert) went by far beyond our expectations. We will certainly be coming back to taste other things on the menu. And for now a huge thank you!

Rarely have I had such a good, authentic-looking and warm restaurant experience. The food was super tasty, very well timed and well priced. There were three of us and we were all completely thrilled. You could certainly make it even more comfortable and nicer to sit on, but that in no way had a negative impact on the mega evening!

We wen't here as a last dinner before our trip home the day after. Was the greatest meal of the trip, would highly recommend for everybody, offers dishes with very nuanced and sharp flavours. Definitely worth the visit!

Very tasty cuisine, for everyone who wants to dig a little deeper into their pockets. The ceviche is said to be the best in town. Since it was my first one so far, I can't rate it yet, but I still found it very tasty. As a starter there was pulpo and beef hearts. The restaurant is located on a quiet side street and also has a few small tables outside.

Anyone who wants to embark on an exciting taste journey has come to the right place: traditional, well thought-out and first-class dishes that take you on a culinary journey of discovery. All of this at an amazingly good price-performance ratio and accompanied by pleasant and courteous service. We had a great evening and are looking forward to our next visit.

Chosen after a recommendation on social media for exceptional food in Hamburg and not disappointed. Here, creative food of a high standard is offered in a pleasant, authentic ambience. The staff patiently and friendly explained the unusual menu to us, so that we found our way around easily despite the unusual selection of dishes. The food was super tasty, intolerances were taken into account and nothing was too spicy. Will probably be one of my new favorite restaurants in the future. Keep it up :)

Our waiter was very nice, but unfortunately difficult to understand in the very noisy shop. He came to our table a little too often for our taste. His colleague who brought the food to the tables was a bit confused. First he delivered our food to the next table and then after we had eaten he wanted to give us the food from another table. The quality of the food was very good, but it wasn't my taste. You have to know that actually every dish contains chili (it is not shown on the menu) and is therefore relatively spicy. Unfortunately, I also found the dessert disappointing. Overall: A nice restaurant, but not my taste. Overall too loud and food not my cup of tea. But everything is really nicely presented and the staff is really nice.

Super Service! -> Great recommendations, very attentive and very friendly. The food was a real treat. All components were very well coordinated, the meat was so tender (!!!) and everything was incredibly fresh. The recommended drinks rounded the whole thing off perfectly.

Food is good and delicious but a better description of the menu would be highly appreciated. I’m not sure if it qualifies under the term of “molecular cooking” but indeed presentations differ from what you can imagine, that’s why a better description of the dish and ingredients would help a lot. Indicating level of spicy would be also nice. Atmosphere of the place is also ok. Service was not that good, unfortunately, I’ve been there twice and the one who seems to be maitre is far of being nice. Other waiters there are much more polite and friendly. Best dishes: Puro Norte (creamy inside, orange sauce is quite spicy), Ceviche (waffle made of “rocoto” so it’s very spicy, has creamy sweet potato purée presentation), Chabuca Grande (very good), Puebla Fresa (also very good) Worst: Mango Chamoy (it’s basically a lollipop, lack of flavour and pulp)

Each of the tapas dishes is cleverly seasoned and precisely prepared.

Nice little restaurant. Unfortunately, the portions are a bit small for the relatively high prices.
