Ollita Peruana Restaurant in Hamburg

This restaurant used to be a 5-star experience for me; the food is authentically good. Unfortunately, the prices have become very high, the portions seem smaller, and the kitchen was very slow despite the restaurant being empty. The €12 Pisco arrived in a half-full glass, which wasn't the case before. Sadly, this has been the case the last few times, and I probably won't be coming back for a while.

Delicious food! I had ceviche for the first time and it was very good; I hadn't expected it to be so tasty. Everything was excellent and prepared in a very traditional way. The staff and service were also very friendly. Thank you!

I was at the restaurant today with my friends, and I've never waited so long for our food—three hours! The portions have gotten much smaller, and honestly, the food wasn't as good as usual. I felt really bad because I brought my friends to try our delicious Peruvian food. It was a terrible experience.

A terrible experience at this restaurant. The service is awful; we've been having these kinds of unpleasant experiences for the past few months. The last straw was our last visit, when they literally kicked us out of our table. Their justification was that diners supposedly only have two hours to eat, but the food takes more than an hour to arrive. The owner told us, both verbally and with hand gestures, that we had to leave the table simply because other people needed to sit down, and when we wanted to order dessert, she told us it was better to get it to go since the "alfajores" were just cookies. A very bad experience, and on top of that, the portions have been significantly reduced, which no longer justifies the price. I do not recommend it.

The service is terrible. They take forever to deliver the food. They don't clear the plates; you have to tell them to clear them. If you don't believe it, you should stop by and realize. I've never waited forever for my food. With all due respect, but I'll never come back to this place.

Found it once and have been regular customers ever since 😍 My husband and I absolutely love coming here. It's always something special and a highlight for us. The ingredients are noticeably fresh, the dishes are stylishly presented, the portions are generous, the atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and the taste is fantastic! Great restaurant 🥳 A little tip: You do have to bring some time with you—but good food takes time. ☝️

Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. As a "house recommendation," I received a carelessly presented dish: three slices of half a potato, two spoonfuls of coleslaw, and a charred, over-salted chicken leg. The whole thing had absolutely nothing to do with Peruvian cuisine. Taste, quality, and authenticity were completely lacking. For a restaurant that claims to serve Peruvian food, this is completely unacceptable. Definitely NOT a recommendation. I'll never be back.

I recommend the restaurant Ollita Peruana. It's by far the best Peruvian restaurant in Hamburg. It tastes just like home and is beautifully presented.

Highly recommended. The price/performance ratio is absolutely fine. We went there with a Peruvian friend. The food is authentic and well prepared. We had a papa rellena as an appetizer. Absolutely fantastic. Not huge, but just right for a starter. We also had ceviche and pasta huancaina con lomo. Both dishes were very good. For dessert, we had the picarones. These were also great. The best I've tried so far. We'll definitely be back. The chicha morada was almost perfect in my opinion. General conclusion: Great restaurant. Authentic Peruvian cuisine, moderate prices, and attentive service. The wait time was about half an hour (so totally within reason). The decor was appropriate, and the staff was friendly.

Nice little shop with Peruvian specialties. The food was delicious, but the spices and acidity were unusual. The beef hearts were an absolute favorite. The national drink, Pisco Sour, is also a must-try. The service could be a bit more attentive, but it was super friendly.

I visit Peru several times a year and always enjoy good food there. I've known this restaurant since the early days and today, after a long absence, I ate here again with my whole family. I have to say, the food in Peru is truly on par with any good restaurant these days. Certain ingredients are obviously imported from Peru, completing the experience. Truly delicious and authentic. I've been a regular at this Peruvian restaurant for a long time and have always recommended it for its flavor and quality. However, on my last visit, I was deeply disappointed: the portions have decreased significantly. They used to serve generous dishes that justified the price, but now the portions are small, almost like a tasting, and the cost remains just as high. The flavor is still good, but you no longer feel the same satisfaction when eating or the same value for money as before. I hope they reconsider this decision, because it would be a shame for a place that used to be one of my favorites to lose its essence.

We visited the restaurant with my husband and family, who were trying Peruvian food for the first time. I'm Peruvian, I love to cook, and I think I know how to identify a good dish, service, and the care taken in the kitchen. Unfortunately, my husband and I can't recommend this restaurant unless you're just going for a Pisco Sour or drinks. We waited over an hour for four dishes, about 15 minutes for the appetizers, and then over an hour for two vegetarian dishes and two regular dishes. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant, which was packed, and she seemed very stressed and annoyed when we ordered. From that point on, the experience became unpleasant. The stress or displeasure that the waitress may have is not something a customer should feel; we're paying for full service! We had to return one of the vegetarian dishes because, despite having asked for it without cilantro, they didn't give it with cilantro, and my sister-in-law couldn't eat it. It's a shame that this restaurant skimps on Peruvian ingredients, which characterize the flavor of Peruvian food, to such an exaggerated degree. The huancaina sauce was so runny that it tasted like soup and barely tasted like aji amarillo. The idea of eating it with yuca as a sauce was impossible since everything oozed out. The cancha was super dry and not fresh, and the seafood rice was completely dry, not fresh, and completely tasteless. The only redeeming quality was the two spoonfuls of onion-free ceviche they gave me in the seafood trio with two grains of corn and a slice of aji limo. My husband's aji de gallina didn't taste at all like aji amarillo and was flavorless. The pisco sours we ordered were good. To someone who has never tried Peruvian food, they would find it passable to good, but we left here disappointed. It's better to buy the ingredients and prepare them at home.

A South American Peruvian restaurant! Great dishes and excellent advice and service. The menu is very varied, but you can ask for details. I've been wanting to go here for a long time, and it was definitely worth it; the food was delicious! Sitting outside in the 🌞 sunshine was a dream. I definitely recommend eating here, but you should make a reservation in the evening. Wink 😉

Ceviche used to be better. The fish no longer tastes like lemon, but rather like something artificial. Overall, the place is okay, but I wouldn't recommend the ceviche anymore.

The atmosphere is nice; it's a small restaurant. What I didn't like was that the main course menu is expensive, and the food is very limited. Also, the appetizer, which is just a snack, is usually too expensive. It should cost the same as a regular meal. I've been to another Peruvian restaurant where I paid 15 euros for a regular meal: chicken with fries, a fairly large amount. I don't consider it typical Peruvian food either. It's a common dish that can be found anywhere; it's nothing special. But they should lower the prices, as it's very expensive and the portions are small. I prefer to go to a restaurant where, even if I don't finish the whole meal, I'll still pay 21 or 25 euros, but with pleasure.

Peruvian here =) It was super good, we tried lomo saltado, ají de gallina and ceviche between 3 all sharing, was enough. It really tastes authentic, price was fair.

The food was super tasty. However, the service (very nice) was subpar, unfortunately totally uncoordinated. This resulted in long waiting times for everything (from drinks to food). We would still recommend it because of the food, but you should have a lot of time and patience.

Very good food, but very slow and inattentive, overwhelmed service. Despite a reservation, you are left standing in the corner for 20 minutes, with no information about when things will continue. Once you have a table, orders from guests who arrive much later are taken first. When I have to think about a drink for a moment while ordering, the waitress simply walks away. I couldn't choose the drink beforehand because they had forgotten to give us the drink menu. Also very drafty and cold at the windows. However, the food is really exceptionally good and somewhat consoles that.

Price-performance ratio is okay, Aji de Gallina tasted as it should. ;) The tamal de pollo didn't taste like I know and love, but it was still good. The portions could be bigger. I didn't get full from it. The music was Latin American but not Peruvian. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday afternoon, but not full. Reservations seem to be recommended; at least you are asked straight away whether you have a reservation. The restroom is clean. I will definitely come back. The prices are not the same as those on the website. It has become a bit more expensive. The prices on the menu are crossed out and new prices are written next to them.

We were there last Sunday evening with our exchange student from Peru (5 people in total). We were all very satisfied - very tasty food, friendly service and nice atmosphere (a bit "simple", but definitely ok). We didn't know Peruvian cuisine before and were curious about it...according to our companion from Peru, it was very authentic. It is clear that not all ingredients can always be 1:1 the same as in Peru, but the cook did a good job of making our exchange student feel “at home”. We ordered five different dishes and some mixed starters – everything was very attractively presented and tasted great! If we lived in Hamburg, we would definitely come by more often. Come back next time you visit Hamburg! :-)

Super delicious food, friendly staff, appealing atmosphere… what more could you want. I recommend making a reservation as there are relatively few spaces. Tip: you can also order and pick up the food/drinks. It's well packaged and stays warm long enough that you can enjoy it at home (and I don't exactly live in the area).

Wednesday evening at Ollita Peruana. Friendly service that could be a little more attentive. Food was delicious, I can recommend Trio Marino. Unfortunately it was very cold in the store, as if the heating was on. This is unfavorable in January and doesn't keep you there for long.

The food was really good but what happened to the portions? Too expensive for what they serve, this was one of our favorite restaurants but they increased their prices and made their portions smaller. We won’t be coming back. Also the place was stinking like a toilet.

Incredible authentic shop, with very courteous waiters. Small shop with a good atmosphere and nice music. The food is world class. Here you can feel free to do something “adventurous”. We had ceviche mixto and beef hearts beforehand. It was just brilliant. For the main course, chicken leg and Peruvian chicken fricassee were also perfect. If there were multiple stars I would give more. I'll be back. One of the best restaurants in recent months! Also very tasty cocktails. Keep it up!

We are not that impressed with the restaurant, rather disappointed. Maybe we got the wrong day, the day after New Year's. The second service person arrived late, which meant the ordering process was a bit slow. The menu is reduced, not excessive. The dishes, in our opinion, are a bit overpriced. For a chicken leg, portion of rice, five small potatoes and a little sauce €20, sorry, too expensive. In addition, the food for all four was only moderately warm. Unfortunately the dessert is not as shown in the pictures. The tres leches is a small portion with a little milk around it. We won't be coming back.

Unfortunately very disappointing. The place smelled like a toilet. Service hardly speaks German and is not really attentive. Of 5 types of Peruvian beer, only 2 were available. The portions are not very big. You just get so full. The food tastes ok, but is not a culinary delight. An unquenchable thirst for it is guaranteed. Prices on the menu do not match those on the website. Trio Marino doesn't cost 19.90, but over 26 euros. Unfortunately not recommended

We had Causa Veggie, Huancaina Spaghetti, Locro and Yuquitas… everything just like at home in Peru. Delicious, fresh ingredients and well seasoned. As a Peruvian, our visit to La Ollita was a treat. Thanks also for the hospitable service.

Peruanisches Essen ist definitiv sehr lecker. Auch hier ist das Essen lecker und der Pissco ist unwiderstehlich. Aber vergleicht man das Restaurant mit anderen Peruanern, ist das ganze nur noch ganz nett und wenig spektakulär.

South American flair with delicious Peruvian cuisine

I had Peruvian food for the first time in my life and it was incredibly good. I didn't know some of these flavors before. From fresh and spicy to hearty and fruity to mild and cheesy - food porn. Ceviche Clásico, Yuquitas, Lomo Saltado, plus a strong red wine, everything was extremely good. The service was attentive and above-average friendly, courteous and in a good mood. Although there are language barriers, it is also very authentic. The ambience is relatively simple but still cozy. And in the end it's all about the taste anyway. I would go there again at any time and will do so.

Super delicious Peruvian food and drinks. My favorites are Leche de Tigre, Seco a la norteña, Ají de Gallina, Pollo a la Brasa (1st Sunday of every month), chicha morada, Maracuya Sour, and Dark Cusqueña.

The a la carte food was delicious, all of it, but very expensive for my pocket and the portion was super small (we were all hungry): 2 classic ceviches, a marine trio (very little), 2 juices and a personal cola, total €71.50.

We have eaten here several times in the evening and have never been disappointed. Reservation recommended. Online works great. Since we have been to Peru before, we know some of the dishes. The ceviche, the papas ala huacaina, causa limena... Everything just like we ate it in Peru. That's why we love these little things. Yesterday we had pasta ala huacaina with beef as our main course. A dream for us. The pisco sour could use a little more pisco. But we'll definitely be back.

I like to try out new things and have rarely been as enthusiastic as I was with these coordinated dishes. Can't wait to come back. The service was also quick, friendly and very patient when we extended the opening hours a bit. We obviously felt very comfortable. I found it charming that a waiter could hardly speak German. Since I'm about to travel to Peru for 4 weeks, I arranged to meet a friend here today. We were both thrilled! :-) She had a vegetarian dish, I had chicken thighs with Peruvian peanut sauce. Both dishes tasted like a dream and were beautifully presented. The restaurant was already busy on Saturday afternoon. Absolute recommendation for great Peruvian cuisine! We will come back! :-)

Very great restaurant. Very special and really tasty. We had pumpkin stew, beef, delicious cassava sticks and another potato starter. It was excellent, the service was good and calm, the shop is very nicely decorated. We'll be back!

What a delicious meal, I felt like I was in my northern Peru, the food was very delicious and the attention was spectacular.

I love Peruvian cuisine. The cuisine I tried for the first time in Peru. Especially the Peruvian restaurants outside of Peru, this one is without a doubt the best. I have been to Peruvian restaurants on different continents and it is worth visiting this restaurant here in Hamburg. Quality is top and prices are very good. Very nice atmosphere and very authentic. The restaurant is rather familiar and small, so without a reservation it is very difficult to get a table. I recommend tiradito (that's the spicy version), ceviche, pulpo, chicha, papa a la huancaina and pisco. We were lucky and were able to park right in front of the door.

We have been to Peru several times and the food in Ollita Peruana is good. Go there often, especially when it's not too crowded, to eat Lomo Saltado, Causa or Anticuchos. The Chicha Morada and the Pisco Sour are also served ice cold, as in Peru and as it should be. Sometimes not everything is available, such as InkaKola or Picarones. If something wasn't right, we spoke to the service staff and a solution was found straight away. I always enjoy going there!

A cozy place with unfortunately very poor service. We had to wait forever for our drinks, then only 2 out of 3 came with the excuse that it was a difficult drink to mix (mojito). The ceviche was very good, other starters were unfortunately boring and too expensive.

The restaurant is okay - but it's not a blast! The dishes taste OK, the quality of the food is also completely fine. If you order “Canchita” (Peruvian corn), you pay several euros for a half-empty small bowl (I know differently from other Peruvian restaurants). For someone who wants to get an idea of ​​Peruvian cuisine - perfectly fine. Not recommended for a Peruvian.

A great little place to sit nice and relaxed and get away from the cuisine of Europe. The staff is very, very friendly and tries to speak German, but English and Spanish work better and are more fun. Price-performance ratio is reasonable, parking is poor but you definitely have a nice, pleasant evening. All three enjoyed the food very much, although none of them had much experience with Peruvian cuisine. Highly recommended❤️
