From the (rather limited) selection, we ordered two main courses. My cauliflower was well-prepared and tasted fantastic! To have the full culinary experience, we also ordered the house-recommended appetizer – incidentally, the most expensive one on the menu. Unfortunately, it wasn't mentioned that the appetizer was extremely spicy. Therefore, we could only taste it and then had to leave it. There was no attempt to make amends. Therefore, it's not worth a second visit.

This was our second visit and we were truly impressed with the food. The service staff were friendly and unobtrusive.

Good food, authentic ambiance, and friendly service. If you like Latin American food, this is the place to be!

Went for dinner with two of my friends who never had Peruvian food before. I myself have lived in Peru and was happy to see this restaurant so close by our hotel. All three of us were simply blown away by the food, such beautiful presentation and what fantastic flavour!! We had the ceviche, causa veggie, anticucho veggie (which we ordered twice) and the coliflor, all delicious. Pisco’s were great too. Would absolutely recommend and visit again!

Wow…. We popped in for a Pisco Sour & shared a Cerviche Mixto Verde ❤️❤️ so excited, we cancelled our other rest for the next night & returned. We were truly not disappointed. For us as Australians living in Germany for 5 years, this is the absolutely best food we have eaten in Germany. The flavour profiles, produce, heart of this delicious Peruvian food is clear. We ate the vibrant Cerviche again, the Polpo was earthy goodness, Pork Belly absolutely is s must, cooked for 48 hrs 🙏 & the lomo Saltado was just the perfect finish. Alec crafted a delicious but now sweet Macchu Piccu dessert. The lovely owner Monica started this business from her home kitchen cooking 45 covers x 2 times per night. 3 years since opening Bodega Lima & now has the lovely & talented Alec cheffing, & a special thank you to gorgeous Aniko 💓for your great wait service & enthusiastic welcome. Thank you all … We are planning our trip back to Hamburg now for 2026 & will be back to Bodega Lima. Thank you for what you give to the food scene in Hamburg. 🙏 Pisco Sours are also authentically excellent. Cannot even imagine why this amazingly good restaurant is not on a Michelin list….

I was absolutely blown away by the flavors and textures of the delicious food at bodega Lima. The dishes are best enjoyed family style/shared because you will want to try everything on the table. Would especially recommend the chicharrón chalaco - the fluffiest and most tender pork belly cooked to perfection - and the papitas huancaina - they should bottle this spicy, cheesy sauce for sale, it’s addictive! As for the wine selection, although the Peruvian tinto was sold out during our visit, the Chilean tinto was an excellent choice - sweet but bold and jammy. I found the prices to be surprisingly high for each of the dishes, however based on the quality of the ingredients and the impressive tastes, I can fully justify it. Hoping this newer bodega will become a staple in Hamburg. Impresionante!

Best Peruvian Restaurant in Hamburg

Went their twice. Once during lunch and once during dinner. Lunch was some kind of a stew and it was delicious and very fair priced. Went again the next time we were at Hamburg. This time for dinner and it was different but in a good way. The food was more sophisticated and tasted incredible. Highly recommend

I came here because of a discount through "The Fork." The food is quite decent, but the prices are, in my opinion, excessive. Added to that is the owner, who is a bit too present and doesn't really accept criticism—instead, she tries to explain the concept or the dishes. Unfortunately, we didn't feel particularly comfortable here. Edit: Yes, we did come on March 20, 2024, at 7:30 PM with a 50% discount offer. The restaurant's passive-aggressive response only confirms my previous point.

Very exciting and interesting place

i was there today for the very first time, even though the place wasn't full the waitresses took their time to take our orders which was kinda odd. The restaurant itself is precious and is located in a very chill and central area in Hamburg. The food was delicious but unfortunately the portions are ridiculously small, the chicha morada (national Peruvian drink) had way too much lime juice. You can't add the "tapas" concept to the Peruvian Cousine, it just doesn't work, if you're a tourist and want to try Peruvian food for the first time then this is the right place because the food flavours are "rescaled" for the European palate, but me as a Peruvian i would NEVER recommend it.

The food is very good, authentic, and specially prepared. I ordered the mixed ceviche for €22, a lomo saltado for €28.50, and a veggie anticucho for €17.50. All three dishes had a unique flavor, and you can tell the preparation is professional. I also recommend the passion fruit pisco for €12. However, it's important to keep in mind that to eat well, you'd have to spend between €50 and €60 instead of the €20 to €30 indicated in the review. I think this should be clearly stated to avoid false expectations about the quality-quantity ratio and price.

Incredible food and atmosphere, the combination of flavors was amazing, the best Peruvian restaurant in Hamburg... I recommend trying the Ceviche Mixto and the Chicharron, I loved it.

I liked the food a lot, but it is extremely expensive for such a small portion, really a pity unfortunately. I went to Peru for a trip and the portions were enormous. I know we are in Germany and that’s life, but such a pity cause the food war really really good.

Enjoyed the food. We did order 2 dishes per person plus one at the end, because we were super hungry. Dishes are small but amazing. We will come again.

I do not get some of the bad reviews: the food was incredible, my girlfriend had recently been to Peru and fell in love with Nikkei cuisine - she fully approved of the flavors and combinations. Staff was friendly and the furniture is clearly meant to add to the casual, living-room like vibe - which it does perfectly. As for the price, it’s very well communicated that portions are sharing sizes and 2 pp are recommended. If you want high quality food, you will have to pay for it - go somewhere else if not. We are very excited to return soon.

This place is an absolute gem: -the atmosphere and homeyness is absolutely inviting -the service is beyond friendly, funny and attentive -and the food... If you ever want to eat mushroom ceviche that somehow outshines the most tender octopus and pork belly ever... Go here. Oh, and the deserts made my brothers who don't like sweet things absolutely devour them. Just saying.

The decor is somewhat rustic but cozy. The food was exceptionally good. A variety of aromas and flavors, and very attractively presented. As recommended, we ordered several dishes to share. This was great for trying as much as possible.

Place is great. Been here before. Will not disappoint. But be aware, this is not a low budget-restaurant. Ceviche Lima and Pulpo are extraordinary! The Chicharon did not have a crust like I know it from other parts of the world.

The service was good, the food was delicious, but the value for money is unfortunately not right. You could eat here for 60 euros alone and still not feel full. The portions are significantly smaller than the prices suggest. Edit: Unfortunately, I have no capacity for criticism. My Peruvian friend and I have eaten larger portions of ceviche for less money several times, and it tasted much more authentic. And the vegetarian dishes are expensive too. The manager's aggressive and incomplete argumentation should have shown you what you're dealing with here. More than embarrassing.

Despite the limited menu, this Peruvian restaurant has very strong points (the ceviche and the causa stuffed have nothing to envy of other Peruvian restaurants in Madrid). However, it was a big surprise to learn that they do not sell Peruvian beer.

We’ve eaten here five times so far and will definitely come again. Really delicious food, different to anything we’ve had before. The tapas style is much more fun when eating with friends. Love the pisco sour cocktails too. The lovely lady who runs the place always stops by to check everything is okay with the order and to explain things or just have a brief friendly chat. We are locals and highly recommend! The prices are quite high but it’s really worth it in our opinion The cauliflower and beetroot dishes are amazing and recommended

What a lovely discovery in Hamburg! Great food, amazing flavours, kind service, cozy vibes and a great option for meat eaters and vegetarians alike (no one will be missing out😌). The owner is such a nice person, explained every dish on the menu throughly and gave great suggestions. Overall top experience 💜 Must try: Ceviche Tradicional, Papitas a la Huancaina, Pescado a la Chorrillana and Anticucho Callejero.

It's a shame I can only give one star. The food itself was very tasty, but on the menu they're listed as main courses (and even main courses are very expensive), but in the end they're a kind of tapas; you're not satisfied with just one dish. You'd have to order two dishes and pay €35-€50 for one person just to eat! You pay prices like you'd pay in a luxury restaurant, but the atmosphere is very family-friendly and simple (which is fine, but why luxury prices?). The boss wants to sell a lot and almost pressures you to buy more things. The chicha morada costs almost €7!!! I'd like to go back, but only if the prices go down or the dishes get bigger ;) We ordered one dish and then bought more food on the street because we were still hungry!

Disappointing Experience – Never Again! I've rarely had such a bad experience in a restaurant as I did at Bodega Lima. We had high expectations, but were completely disappointed. Ambience – Untidy and Noisy Upon entering, it was immediately apparent that the restaurant wasn't particularly inviting. The decor was carelessly arranged, and the tables were far too close together, leaving us with barely any room. It was also incredibly loud – not just from the guests, but also from the staff, who were chatting loudly and clattering plates. The atmosphere was definitely not pleasant. Service – Unfriendly and Slow We had to wait forever before anyone even noticed us. When a waitress finally came, she was rude and seemed as if she would rather ignore us. Questions about the menu were answered with an annoyed tone, and it took far too long for our order to be taken. Drinks didn't arrive for 20 minutes – and that was only because we asked several times. Food – A Disaster The menu sounded promising, but what was served was a disgrace. My starter was cold and tasted bland, the main course arrived after over an hour (!) and was inedible. The meat was dry, and the side dishes were carelessly slapped onto the plate. My companion ordered pasta that was completely overcooked and swimming in a watery sauce. Absolutely disappointing! Hygiene – Questionable One look in the restroom was the last straw for me: dirty sinks, no toilet paper, and an unpleasant smell. If it looks like that in there, I don't even want to know what the kitchen looks like. Value for Money – A Disgrace The prices are absolutely unjustified for what's offered here. Far too expensive for inferior quality and poor service. Conclusion – Never Again! I will definitely not visit this restaurant again. Bad service, lousy food, unsanitary conditions – a complete disappointment! I can only advise everyone not to spend their money here.

We got a table in the basement with the sewage pipes running along the wall next to us. The individual rations tasted good but were expensive and they cannot replace a complete menu. If you can, it's better to eat a curry sausage somewhere else beforehand to stave off hunger. The boss said that Peruvian cuisine is number one in the world - a view that I, as a well-traveled globetrotter, do not share. Conclusion: you can go there, but it's not worth the money!

The food tastes wonderful, the staff is very nice and the restaurant is small but nice.

We were there on New Year's Eve. The staff and the owner were very friendly and the room was authentically furnished. The menu is small but completely sufficient. The prices are not low but it is also a small experience to eat there and enjoy it. We had one cold dish and two warm dishes, which was completely sufficient for us (2 people). Conclusion: It was a very nice visit and the staff radiated a warmth that you no longer find in many restaurants.

I love this place! Very good quality, awesome combination of Latin America flavors!! I highly recommend to order one of the ceviches! It’s clear that the owner puts a lot of attention to the restaurant and this is reflected in the good service and guidance from the waiters.

I have to start by saying that I am familiar with Peruvian cuisine. I was even more disappointed in Bodega Lima. The very limited menu does have a few classics, but... The Papas a la Huancaina have little to do with the original. Drowned in two undefined sauces with just a hint of aji. Zero stars for this. Lomo Saltado was ok. Pulpo... how can you overcook it to the point of mushyness? The ceviche was also just mediocre. Prices are very high for taste and portion size. The Pisco is a disgrace. Small! glasses. Way too much sugar. And eleven for that!!!! Euro? This must be the hipster serve. There is no other way to explain it.

The hot dishes were good. Ceviche has room to improve. Unfortunately, we were not informed in time that there was only one hour left to eat. Being kicked out given the amount of the bill was not good service. Too bad, not worth the money.

The Bodega Lima in Hamburg is a real highlight! The food is super delicious – from fresh ceviche to hearty classics like lomo saltado, everything is prepared with a lot of love. Particularly noteworthy are the friendly and attentive staff, who make the visit an all-round great experience. A perfect place to enjoy Peruvian cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere!

It was a completely unexpected taste journey that still makes me very happy. Mother and son cook here with passion. Very clear recommendation!!

Let's put it this way, if you don't care about the price-performance ratio and you really want to try Peruvian food, go there. The food was good, that's how we can judge it in a group with Peruvians. Not to mention, it was incredibly salty, presumably to sell more drinks. When we all shared the same feedback as a group of 6, the boss denied everything. Price performance ratio is underground. Of course, if you follow the extremely pushy boss's recommendation to order two main dishes per person, then you'll be full, but you'll also lose 50 euros per person. The boss herself ruined the atmosphere for us the most. I really appreciate it if you are entrepreneurially ambitious and do cross-selling. But the boss doesn't take no for an answer and pushily tries to sell everything she can. NO, in Peru it is not customary to share all dishes.

Hervorragender Laden, sehr authetisches peruanisches Essen, nicht ganz billig, aber für die Qualität absolut angemessen. Das Ceviche war hervorragend und recht verhältnismäßig viel. 5 Portionen für 2 haben dicke gereicht. Der Maracuja Pisco Sour ist ein klasse Aperitiv. Volle Empfehlung. Wir kommen definitiv wieder.

Une belle surprise! Tout était complet un lundi soir à Hambourg. Après négociation avec la patronne, on accepte de nous donner une table. Et c’était une chance. La nourriture est excellente, goûteuse à souhait. Le service est efficace et sympathique. On y reviendra, c’est sûr!

Let’s start with food! The food got ready very very fast! Which was awesome. The taste was great; we ordered 4 dishes for 2 people as the waitress suggested and the quantity was right. Taste, texture and plating were great, the reason I remove 1 star from food part is the price and drinks! We both ordered Pisco sour which is my favourite drinks. I have so much better than what I had tonight! Actually their Pisco sour was one the worst I had. Tasted very sweet than typical and artificial. No taste of fresh lime and as you can see in the picture it was served all in foam! I asked if I could skip the Sirup as I am in sugar free week and they refused!! The other star from food is taken out because of Price performance ration was right. We had only 1 drinks and with what we ate we ended up paying a bit more than 60 euros. Portions are small for the price I’d say so one needs to order more than 1 food which is already priced from 20-26 euros! The service was not very good, our reservation was as at 19:30 and I expect to be allowed to sit till 21:30. While around 21:00 they came to remove dishes. Most of their presence was around closing time for taking off the plates and payment. I needed a piece of lime which I had to wait for some time to grab a personale. It’s a very loud restaurant and since the ventilation was not working, it was very smelly of fried food.

Richtig tolles Essen aber nicht günstig. Wir sind der Empfehlung (2 Gerichte pro Person) gefolgt und hatten bei vier Erwachsenen tatsächlich zu viel. Je ein warmes und ein kaltes Gericht weniger wäre genau richtig gewesen … aber sehr lecker war es trotzdem 😀.

Wir waren das erste Mal in der Bodega Lima und was soll ich sagen, mit Sicherheit nicht das letzte Mal. Peruanische Küche kannten wir bis dahin nicht und es war sehr sehr lecker, ob kalte oder warme Speisen, alles war auf den Punkt und sehr interessant gewürzt. Sicher es ist nicht ganz billig, dafür beste Qualität und mit viel Liebe zubereitete Speisen. Dazu eine überaus freundliche Chefin mit einem tollen Team. Absolute Empfehlung.

Had great food in a great authentic atmosphere. We received great information and facts about the dishes from the lovely owner and gave us good advice. We tried several dishes. Every dish was unique and extremely delicious. The dessert, the Peruvian drinks, it was all very, very tasty. The shop looks inconspicuous from the outside, but is definitely worth a visit. We'd love to come back.

Quite nice. I can't understand the overwhelming reviews about the exotic or sophisticated taste: simple South American home cooking is served here. Neither more nor less. From cevice to rice pudding. What annoys me, however, is the very small portions given the “hamburger prices”. Even as a normal woman you need two dishes to eat, an average of €25. That's too steep for me. Ambiance and service are just normal. This summer, even in the basement it was uncomfortably warm (fans?), service wasn't exactly on point, drinks took quite a long time. Addendum: And €7.50 for a 0.75 liter bottle of water (Hamburg water, not Peruvian ;) is an outrage.

Prices beyond good and bad. The food came relatively quickly and seemed warmed up. Col and Flor consists of a hard, larger cauliflower. Charging 24 euros for it is very borderline. It felt like 30 minutes after we were finished. By the way, asked if everything was ok? Not really... Oh and automatically including 10% for tips in the bill is a joke. Absolute anti recommendation!

The food was really top. Highly recommended. Nicely located and very friendly. Quality has its price. However, a bit too high in my opinion. Not appropriate in relation to the quantity of e.g. ceviche. If that doesn't matter to you, please try it out
