Xodó - Brasilianisches Restaurant in Hamburg

Based on the exceptionally high reviews on The Fork, TripAdvisor, and Google, we chose this restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. I ordered soup, but to my surprise, it was served in a small dish that was only half full. At first, I assumed this was standard, but when my colleagues received their portions, their dishes were at least properly filled. For my main course, I specifically requested a rare rump steak and asked to replace the mashed potatoes with vegetables. The steak was indeed small (180g, as stated on the menu), but it arrived overcooked, and the dish still included mashed potatoes. When I pointed out that the steak was not rare, the waiter took a knife and rudely cut into it, insisting that the center was rare. Given the small size of the steak, only the very middle was cooked to my preference, leaving most of it overdone. As a result, I only ate part of it and left the side dish untouched. Throughout the experience, the waiter made no effort to resolve the situation. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Small, authentic restaurant. Feelings of home were definitely there. The food was very good, I will definitely be back and can recommend it. It was a bit noisy that day because it was a birthday celebration, but I still felt comfortable.

I went there with two friends of mine and I was super excited. The food didn't arrive complete (it came with a missing order). The food was very salty, and the fried cassava was very hard and unsalted. We ordered 2 juices and they came completely tasteless. What a shame.

Friendly service but lack of attention, my boyfriend ordered a second beer and they forgot to deliver it, we also asked for the bill and they forgot and after 20 minutes we reminded him and they brought it. The dish with picanha is good but the beans lacked salt and seasoning.

An absolute highlight! The Xodo in Hamburg completely impressed us with its modern Brazilian ambience and incredibly warm atmosphere. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, the live music creates a great atmosphere and the team is attentive and friendly. Our waiter gave us perfect advice and the starter and main courses - especially the steak with delicious cassava puree - were prepared to perfection. I have rarely been so positively surprised: excellent food, great hosts and an unforgettable experience. We'll definitely be back!

It was recommended by fellow brazilian friend. Service is friendly, although we had to wait to get the waiter’s attention to pay for 20mins and there were only 2 other tables. Food is ok. Nothing special- the grilled pineapple was a favourite. The salad with mango is 95% greens and very thin slices of mango, i dont recommmend it. Also the fish stew only had 3-4 prawns in a tiny bowl (could be used as a capuccino cup). The appetizers were great, price quality. We would come back but only If they adjust either the portion size to the price (currently very overpriced) or if they adjust the price to the portions (instead of 26-30€ per main course, lower to 15€).

First: The staff was super nice and courteous. I had the fish stew. Unfortunately there was very little fish in the stew. The coriander was also quite tasteless. The coconut base was more oil than coconut. The portion could have been a little larger for the price. All in all, it's a good place to go, but for me the price/performance ratio isn't right.

Restaurant reserved for 12/31/2024 New Year's Eve evening for still €98 4 small bite courses but as we reserved online the boss made the choice of our dishes, appointment for 8 p.m. we will bring you a cup and we will make it for you wait 1 hour to bring us the surprise of the kitchen which was to be served with the cup. Much too expensive for the menu which was served. We of course received the owner's apologies but that did not change much for our evening Disappointed disappointed never again restaurant evening on New Year's Eve

We celebrated our birthday and were greeted very nicely. Most of the dishes were really great, like the chicken, coxinhas, moqueca, shrimp noodles. The Brigadeiro balls were also delicious. In contrast was the picanha dish, although the sauce is divine, the meat is in too large pieces and so tough that I couldn't bite it off or cut it apart. Therefore it was not edible. This shouldn't actually happen. I let you know about this, but unfortunately nothing happened. We would have expected at least a little attention from the kitchen or something similar. It's a shame :)

My personal, honest and non-bought review of this restaurant. I didn't travel 1000 kilometers to dine here, I just happened to eat here with my mother. Because we actually wanted to go to the Thai/Vietnamese restaurant who had been in the same place for years. However, this one had already set the bar very high. Since we are culinary but always open minded, we thought why not try Brazilian. And. The food was definitely okay, but nothing more. In my case the experience was just average. The chicken, with fries and this special sauce, plus a side salad, was tasty, but nothing that I can't make myself at home. My mother's résumé, who had pasta, was similar. Overall, not a bad experience, just mediocre. Hence only 3 stars. I would recommend the restaurants next door on the street.

I'm Brazilian and i can say this place is perfect. We got the xodó mix, picanha, bobó de camarão plus caipirinhas, and everything was excellent. Definitely recommend and will be coming back.

We were there with two meat eaters and a vegan. Everyone was very satisfied. Very nice service and the food came very quickly. It really tastes incredibly good and is very authentic. Things only get better in Brazil itself.

I'm Brazilian and I always feel at home here. The team at Xodó teaches Brazil about hamburgers through good food and great service, without resorting to clichés. The only thing that bothers me as a Brazilian is the name Tapas for Salgadinhos 😉. We recently ordered frozen coxinhas, kibe and pastel very spontaneously and at the last minute and the team helped us immediately and provided everything. Thank you very much 🫶🫶

Probably the Nr.1 restaurant for dating? 🤣 I definitely recommend the dish Nr.12 ( sorry forgot the name ) stew with shrimps, a lot of spices in there I guess which made it really tasty. But don’t hiccup in a closed space afterwards! You’ll thank me later. The chocolate balls were too much for me, it’s better to share with another person. The passion fruit is absolutely amazing! It just melted on your tongue and the mouth is filled with passion fruit taste. The ambience is quite suitable for couples dates etc. the meal was bit costly, but it’s worth it!

Being a Brazilian myself I was expecting more. We went there highly recommended by some friends. The restaurant is ok, but the food could be a bit better for the price they are charging. We ordered the Beans soup which was delicious, but the pasta with shrimp made me disappointed. It wasn't bad, it lacked flavor. The are dog friendly.

A piece of Brazil in the middle of Hamburg and with Brazilians at the table and at the next table as well as very authentic food, the visit to the restaurant felt like a little vacation. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Only the hard outdoor seating makes me deduct a star. Next time I'll probably choose indoors.

A Brazilian from whom you shouldn't order meat. As a starter there was the fried “cassava fries” and coxinhas. The coxinhas contain chicken, which is unfortunately not organic, which you can tell by the bad aftertaste. For the main course we both had the Picanha Steak, which was hard as a fiddle. The request that it should be cooked medium rare was also ignored. Instead, it was well done. The highlight is that the meat on the menu is advertised as premium quality and the price of just under €28 for 200g suggests this. This corresponds to a kilo price of almost 150€!! The service was also bad. They didn't even ask whether the starter or main course tasted good. All in all an expensive and negative experience.

Average. Our meal (fish stew) was very small in portions for the price and hardly seasoned. The caipirinha was tasty, but served in very small glasses, for €9! We probably won't come back. Service was nice but very shy.

Four of us had dinner and it was really delicious! The welcome was very warm, the service friendly and quick. Very cheerful atmosphere and something completely different in terms of food. Highly recommended!

On arrival the staff were friendly. Our starter came relatively timely. But that's when it got worse. Our main course never arrived, after several reminders and pathetic excuses on their side - mind you the restaurant was not particularly overbooked. The food arrived with a 2 hour delay, without any apologies. Only after we finished our drinks and they came to ask if we wanted more drinks when I gave them a look that hesitantly forced them to offer us a drink on the house. I'm sorry to say, but I can't recommend this place for their non-custom minded behavior.

I discovered the restaurant by chance while walking around the neighborhood. I ordered a bean broth, fried cassava and a beer. The only thing missing was the heat of the Northeast, haha. The food was great, the atmosphere is beautiful and cozy, and I was very well attended to. I thought the prices were great too. I recommend.

A great evening in a lovingly furnished, authentically Brazilian restaurant. Very friendly and warm service. The food was very tasty. We had various starters and pineapple xodo as a main course (both chicken and vegan). Absolutely recommended. We really liked everything. We received a super friendly welcome at Xodó. The service was very quick and courteous. Since our family includes everything from meat eaters to vegans, everyone was provided with delicious Brazilian food and drinks. It was a taste experience. The only thing missing was a vegan dessert. It's a shame, because the vegan is a huge dessert fan. But the Xodó is definitely a heartfelt recommendation ❤️

Yesterday we had dinner at Xodo with 11 people and it was terrific. A very cozy shop where you immediately felt at home, overall very familiar, cozy and very clean/tidy. The chefs really did an excellent job, with a very high level of product use. The food used was of very high quality and yet the prices were very low considering everything listed. The real highlight: the staff! The staff was very friendly/warm and very knowledgeable, I immediately took everyone to my heart. I will definitely visit Xodo again and, above all, recommend it, a blessing for everyone 😍

We want to eat something but at 8:50 p.m. we are informed that the kitchen closes at 9 p.m. We ordered the tapas and it wasn't that tasty. Non-carbonated drinks and we missed Brazilian cuisine. The desserts were all very tasty.

We were there yesterday and thought the restaurant looked great and the waitresses were mostly friendly. Unfortunately, we waited a long time for our main course because we didn't realize that the starter had to be eaten before the rest was served. When we asked, a waitress explained this clearly to us. The most important part, the food was unfortunately not to our taste, or rather tasteless. I had vegan dishes (20/21) and my companion had the premium steak (15) and number 3 as a starter. Although we didn't have the same thing, we both had heartburn immediately afterwards. My companion also complained that the premium meat consisted almost entirely of fat and was also swimming in too much fat. We were disappointed. With drinks we came to €71.50. We found this very disappointing in terms of performance.

I was there today at Xodó, the food is great, I had moqueca and my daughters Picanha, as a starter, fried cassava and coxinhas, both chicken and vegan, everything was very tasty, impeccable. For dessert we had milk pudding which left nothing to be desired and the freshly brewed coffee was a wonderful detail. Rafael and Raquel who served us were very friendly and super attentive. The atmosphere is very cozy, very cheerful and the decoration is super beautiful and pleasant. I felt very welcome. I will definitely go back to eat the other delicacies. I loved it and recommend it. IF I could I would give 100 stars.

We spontaneously had lunch here at lunchtime. The ambience is unique and very nice, the service was extremely friendly and the food was extremely tasty! At lunchtime there are tapas and three lunch dishes to choose from. We chose the Brazilian plate with sirloin steak, fries, rice, beans and salad and were not disappointed! All in all, a perfect lunch!

Unfortunately, the restaurant only has a very limited vegetarian selection of dishes. My girlfriend and I then had the tropical salad without meat. This tasted like a €2 bag of lettuce from the supermarket. The dressing had hardly any taste and the mango hardly tasted like mango either. The starters were also very tiny. And it was definitely way too expensive for that amount of food. The service was okay and the ambience was quite nice. Overall, as a vegetarian, I would advise against visiting. Way too expensive for a subpar salad.

I celebrated my birthday here and really had a great time. There was no rush when ordering, we didn't have to do everything straight away. When we arrived we had a drink and then ordered food - really good! We had cassava sticks and a mix of starters - the mix isn't worth the price as it was only 4 really small different types of Brazilian bites. Apart from the starters, main courses were good! We had the chicken stroganoff in the pineapple (amazing!!!) and the picanha (wouldn't order again). The drinks were also well priced. We will definitely come back! We were lucky enough to be here on a Wednesday as there was live music! The decoration makes us really inviting and the good atmosphere comes across immediately!

We ordered Guarana (a lemonade from Brazil, compare with Sprite/Cola etc), it was served without carbonation, so it had probably been there for a while. Mandioca frita came unsalted. The pastels were good, the coxinha really tasty. But the portions were very small and the price was quite high. So we skipped main courses and left. (25 EUR per plate = vegetarian schnitzel with tomato sauce and fries). I'm generally willing to pay more for good food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio at Xodo wasn't right.

Great restaurant with a great northeast Brazilian atmosphere. We had very tasty coxinhas and the best picanha I have eaten in Germany. The portions are big enough to fill you up at reasonable prices. There are original drinks imported from Brazil (e.g. Brahma beer, Xodó Cachaca). On Wednesdays there is nice live music (well-known Brazilian songs - the Brazilians present all sang along enthusiastically). Service was quick, attentive and good!

The service is very accommodating and typically Brazilian, very friendly and always smiling. About the food: It was incredibly tasty and you can tell the quality and love in every little bite.
