I've been looking forward to eating the legendary pasta crab for a long time and it was worth it! The other dishes we had were also delicious. The service was friendly, courteous and gave us very good advice on everything. We'll definitely be back. The journey from Stuttgart to Hamburg was worth it. Greetings go out to the whole team

The first impression: it's loud and narrow, the smell of kitchen is intrusive. 45 seats, mini tables, very close together. Wardrobes and coats are hung on top of each other on hooks. catastrophic. The service is dedicated and professional. Food: small, interesting menu. Kitchen: is of a high standard, amazing what you can achieve in this small kitchen. The extremely loud noises from the show kitchen, 5 high/stools with direct contact to the brigade, and the toilet 2 m away are very disturbing. The sliding door doesn't close and you can see into the restaurant. With the mini tables you have to decide whether to put the bread basket or the plate on your knees. The menu is expensive, with reasonable portions. You have to like that the chef decides what the guest gets on their plate. The owner provides the concept. This is called omakase, “I leave it to you”. Which means nothing else: the guest MUST adapt. We leave the restaurant with very mixed impressions and the feeling that we don't belong there again. Addition: After I submitted the review, XO wrote to me and asked for a review..."You read the reviews" Well apparently not, or the program/app will not be supplemented/expanded, etc.

The fact that tables are allocated multiple times in one evening is not entirely to my taste, but it is understandable as a measure to optimize sales. The rule that reserved tables are only kept free for 15 minutes beyond the booked time, as announced in the confirmation email, is also understandable and okay. Now about our visit: We had reserved a table for four people at 9:00 p.m. and arrived on site at around 8:50 p.m. Since the table was still occupied, which understandably wasn't a problem, we were offered to wait outside with a beer. We happily accepted this solution and enjoyed a really delicious beer. At around 9:10 p.m. one of my companions asked about the status of things. The answer was that the table would become available “immediately”. At 9:25 p.m. I personally asked whether we could still count on our table that evening, since on the one hand we were hungry and on the other hand it was getting quite cold outside. I also referred to the 15-minute rule communicated in the email and asked whether this rule also applies to the restaurant. However, the dark-haired employee's response was anything but professional: "If you keep delaying me, it will take even longer for your table to become available." That was unacceptable for us. Disappointed, we left the restaurant and looked for an alternative where we were served in a friendly and appreciative manner. What particularly bothered us was the feeling of being ignored for over 30 minutes. Even if business is going well, a guest must not become a supplicant. If you plan multiple seatings to get the most out of it, that's your right. However, it should then be ensured that the tables are available in good time and that waiting guests are not overlooked.

Unfortunately very disappointed. Pasta crab was bland, unspectacular during consumption, a slight spiciness/flavor only came after eating. Pleasing: The noodles had bite. Ice cream and apple fritters were carelessly “served” on the plate as dessert, but luckily they tasted good. But generally unspectacular, boring, unimaginative.

We love this place. The food, the ambient and the staff are all amazing. We have tried mussel, krabbe pasta, scallops and gyoza. All very delicious and well prepared. I also recommend the counter option for sitting so you can watch the kitchen.

The food was good, but unfortunately it didn't surprise us. I would have liked more exciting dishes and plates. We had a wonderful evening here! After we were allowed to choose whether we would prefer to sit in a quiet place or in the middle of the hustle and bustle, we opted for the quiet - just a candle or a slightly more cozy light would have been nice at the table. Apart from that, the evening was a culinary dream and so was the service team. They were friendly and personable and asked about our wishes and preferences, gave us unobtrusive advice and were also available for a nice chat in quiet moments. We had the six-course chef's menu and were particularly enthusiastic about the mussel BBQ, the scallops and the hake with onion puree. The greetings from the kitchen, sourdough bread with miso butter and seaweed caviar, sashimi crudo, crab pasta and the coup Denmark Royal did not disappoint in any way. So, rather excited! And I was particularly happy that there was a Yuzu Collins <3

We had a delicious meal last weekend! However, I would like to be honest that even though I am aware that when choosing a good restaurant you can expect higher prices, I unfortunately found the ratio of portion sizes to price very unbalanced. With the Catch of the Day for €42 I had the smallest portion with a 6x6 cm piece of fish. The service was always attentive and friendly, but did not coordinate with the people who were looking after the table, so within the first 10 minutes we were asked by three waitresses whether we had already decided - which made it a bit uncomfortable. So well-intentioned but a bit too much of a good thing. Lastly, I would like to mention that I charge a water flat rate of €5 per person. I find it excessive... All in all, the focus is on quality and taste and we were satisfied with that.

We come to this restaurant at 8.40 on Sunday with the desire to try out a good fish dish. Unfortunately the kitchen was already closed and we only ordered oysters. The wines were very nice, especially rose sparkling wine. Oysters were fresh, but with soy Sauce, I think it would be best without this sauce.

We had an incredible evening here with good wine, very good food, great service and a nice atmosphere. The XO is a clear recommendation for anyone who loves good food. We had a nice seat with a view of the kitchen. We started with an aperitif, followed by great sashimi from the catch of the day and the delicious sourdough bread, then we had some of the best mussels we've ever had, then there was super delicious artichoke with a delicious dip and of course the legendary pasta crab, which is really outstanding was delicious. The whole thing was rounded off with a delicious dessert in the form of homemade ice cream with caviar. A crazy mix and super tasty. We'll definitely be back. Ps: the espresso and cappuccino are really great!

XO Seafood Bar Hamburg Unfortunately very disappointed! Why? The service was very inattentive. Each course took a very long time. Essential things were missing from the food. Reservation online recommended. Condition: You must confirm the reservation in advance with a credit card. If you don't cancel 48 hours in advance, for example because you're sick at short notice, your credit card will be charged 90 euros for 2 people. We reserved a table at the XO Seafood Bar because it had been on our wish list for a long time. Not just because she was at Tim Mälzer's Kitchen Impossible in the spring. We had booked a table at 6:00 p.m., were greeted warmly and shown to our table. We had already studied the menu online and already had a plan of what we wanted to order. My wife requested the pasta crab. Many of the offerings on the menu read very well for me, but I ultimately decided on three starters that I know well from many restaurants or prepare myself and that I was really looking forward to. Two of them as a starter for the two of us, the third for my wife's main course, where we share both. As a starter to combat our first big hunger, we ordered the sourdough bread with miso butter and seaweed caviar (€10), which was served “promptly” 45 minutes later, around 6:45 p.m. The sourdough bread is very tasty, the miso butter is quite salty, the caviar made from seaweed... hmm? I don't know, it's not my taste and you don't need it for sourdough bread. In between (it felt like 15 minutes) Blick tried several times to contact the service to get some of the wine we ordered refilled. I then took over it myself, you don't actually do that, but it was okay with me because our service didn't take care of it. As starters we have Skana Gyoza: Catch of the day, shrimps, pointed cabbage, garlic, chili; Classic €16 and Sashimi Crudo: Catch of the day, red shiso, pink ginger elderflower capers, beetroot wasabi €22 ordered. Unfortunately, the gyozas (5 pieces) came with a matching dip or sauce without us knowing it. And unfortunately they were at most lukewarm. We asked for chopsticks for the cod sashimi. Unfortunately, after requests from service in the kitchen, they weren't available. Sashimi with a knife and fork? But it tasted very good. At around 7:15 p.m. (half an hour after the sourdough bread), after waiting for a while, I told our server that we were now ready for our starter. The plates for the sourdough bread with the remains of the miso butter on them were left for the two of us to share with the two starters. Can be done with environmentally friendly thoughts. Everything OK. This came “subito” 30 minutes later around 7:45 p.m. Pasta crab €28 and BBQ clams, grilled clams, miso sesame mayo, bitter salad, char caviar 23 €. My wife liked the pasta crab. Unfortunately for me, not at all. But/and: The dish is called “Pasta Krab”. We ordered the large portion for €28. There were a maximum of 10 mini crabs, a lot of trout caviar but unfortunately only a maximum of about two tablespoons of bisque. The price-performance ratio is not right here. BBQ clams (€23): That was about 9 mussels (a kilo costs about €4.99) on a radicchio salad and they were delicious! The price-performance ratio doesn't fit here either. Service: compared to what we know, unfortunately very inattentive and not good. Waiting times: very long. Price-performance ratio: too expensive. In total: Unfortunately, it's a shame! We were really looking forward to this evening at the XO Seafood Bar, but unfortunately we didn't go home really happy or full. In total, with three or four starters, a main course, water, wine and an espresso, our bill totaled 164 euros. Maybe Mr. Haebel will read our feedback and do something with it if he thinks he can do something with it.

We were immediately very impressed by the very nice ambience and the relaxed atmosphere. We were warmly welcomed by our waiter and were even able to choose our table and had a wonderful view of the open kitchen. When we ordered, we pointed out several times that we had a pregnant woman with special needs. Unfortunately, they got lost on the way to the kitchen. The cooks who were serving didn't know anything about it. Unfortunately that costs the 5 star. But everything else really fit. We felt very comfortable and really enjoyed the modern menu. XO Seafood Bar Hamburg Leider sehr enttäuscht! Warum? Der Service war sehr unaufmerksam. Die Gänge haben jeweils sehr lange gedauert. Wesentliche Dinge bei den Speisen haben gefehlt. Reservierung online empfohlen. Bedingung: Man muss mit einer Kreditkarte die Reservierung vorher bestätigen. Wenn man nicht 48 Stunden vorher storniert, weil bspw. kurzfristig krank, wird die Kreditkarte mit 90 Euro für 2 Personen belastet. Wir haben in der XO Seafood Bar einen Tisch reserviert, weil sie schon lange auf unserer Wunschliste stand. Nicht nur, weil sie im Frühjahr von Tim Mälzer bei Kitchen Impossible war. Wir hatten zu 18:00 Uhr einen Tisch bestellt, wurden freundlich begrüßt und zu unserem Tisch geführt. Die Speisekarte hatten wir vorher bereits online studiert und hatten schon einen Plan, was wir bestellen wollen. Meine Frau hat sich die Pasta Krabbe gewünscht. Für mich lasen sich viele Angebote in der Speisekarte sehr gut, letztendlich habe ich mich dann für drei Vorspeisen entschieden, die ich gut aus vielen Restaurants oder selbst zubereiten kenne und auf die ich mich sehr gefreut habe. Zwei davon als Vorspeise für uns zwei, die dritte zum Hauptgang meiner Frau, bei dem wir uns beides teilen. Als Starter gegen den ersten großen Hunger haben wir das Sauerteigbrot mit Miso Butter und Algen Kaviar (10,- €) bestellt, welches auch „prompt“ 45 Minuten später, gegen 18:45 Uhr serviert wurde. Das Sauerteigbrot ist sehr lecker, die Miso Butter ziemlich sehr salzig, der Kaviar aus Algen … hmm? ich weiß nicht, geschmacklich nicht meins und braucht man nicht zum Sauerteig Brot. Zwischendurch (ca. gefühlt 15 Minuten) mehrmals versucht Blick Kontakt zum Service herzustellen, um von unserem bestellten Wein etwas nachfüllen zu lassen. Habe ich dann selbst übernommen, macht man eigentlich nicht, war für mich dann aber okay, weil sich unser Service nicht darum gekümmert hat. Als Vorspeisen haben wir Skana Gyoza: Catch of the day, shrimps, pointed cabbage, garlic, chili; Classic 16 € und Sashimi Crudo: Catch of the day, red shiso, pink ginger elderflower capers, beetroot-wasabi 22 € bestellt. Die Gyozas (5 Stück) kamen leider ohne wir es kennen mit einem passenden Dip oder Sauce dazu. Für das Sashimi vom Kabeljau haben wir nach Stäbchen gefragt. Die gab es nach Nachfragen vom Service in der Küche leider nicht. Sashimi mit Messer und Gabel? Hat aber sehr gut geschmeckt. Gegen 19:15 Uhr (halbe Stunde nach dem Sauerteig Brot) habe ich nach bereits etwas längerem warten unserem Service gesagt, dass wir jetzt gerne bereit für unsere Vorspeise sind. Die Teller für das Sauerteig Brot mit den Resten der Miso Butter drauf blieben für die Aufteilung der beiden Vorspeisen für uns beide liegen. Kann man aus umweltgerechten Gedanken machen. Alles ok. Diese kam dann auch „subito“ 30 Minuten später gegen 19:45 Uhr. Pasta Krabbe 28 € und BBQ Clams, grilled clams, miso sesame mayo, bitter salad, char caviar 23 €. Pasta Krabbe hat meiner Frau gut geschmeckt. Mir leider gar nicht. Aber/und: Das Gericht heißt „Pasta Krabbe“. Wir haben die große Portion für 28 € bestellt. Hier waren maximal 10 Minikrabben, dafür viel Forellenkaviar aber leider nur maximal ca. zwei Esslöffel Bisque drin. Hier stimmt das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis nicht. BBQ Clams (23 €): Das waren ca. 9 Miesmuscheln (das Kilo kostet ca. 4,99 €) auf Radicchio Salat waren lecker! Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis passt auch hier ebenfalls nicht. Service: im Vergleich zu dem, was wir kennen, leider sehr unaufmerksam und nicht gut. Wartezeiten: sehr lange. Preis- Leistungsverhältnis: zu teuer. In Summe: Leider sehr schade! Wir haben uns sehr auf diesem Abend in der XO Seafood Bar gefreut, sind aber leider nicht wirklich glücklich und auch nicht satt nach Hause gefahren. In Summe hatten wir mit drei, vier Vorspeisen, einer Hauptspeise, Wasser, Wein, ein Espresso 164 Euro auf der Rechnung. Vielleicht liest Herr Haebel unser Feedback und macht etwas daraus, wenn er meint etwas damit anfangen zu können.

Food and service were top! (6 courses for two people) In my opinion there are a few things that can be improved. To eat: - generally, as I said, very good - Creativity: the surprise menu included some courses from the standard menu. I would have liked more of a “surprise”. - the very tasty chive oil was used in two courses. Restaurant: -we sat at a very small table at the front near the bar. It was still very pleasant, but from 8 p.m. onwards there were a lot of visitors waiting for their tables in the area. From then on it was a bit uncomfortable - Tableware: more variety and something of higher quality would be good. We also have to refill our plates with a few courses that were not swapped between courses. I would prefer to get each course on the special dishes used for it. It would also be good to get new cutlery for every course. This way the courses mix in taste. That's not necessary. - Toilet situation: Great contrast to the rest; While the sink was still pretty, the stalls were dirty (urine on the floor). Of course, that's initially up to the guests, but if the overall picture is correct, a guest doesn't necessarily dare to leave the toilet so dirty. The toilet bowl is obviously not cleaned regularly or properly (completely full of brown deposits) Except for the toilet situation, this is complaining at a very high level for me. We had a great evening and it tasted excellent.

The service was very professional and friendly! The timing between courses was too long (sometimes up to 45 minutes). Unfortunately, the concept of multiple occupancy of places didn't work at all! We were “parked” for 25 minutes and our predecessors at the table were probably forced to leave. If we had decided on the menu, it would have been completely out of control!

The evening at the XO Seafoodbar started promisingly. The service staff were very friendly, helpful and gave great recommendations. Unfortunately, things went “downhill” relatively quickly. We were proactively asked if we would like more bread with our starter, to which we replied in the affirmative. But nothing happens... Then another colleague came and wanted to clear our plates. When we were told that we were still waiting for bread, he said that he would see where it was. Nothing happens for a long time. Just as we were about to put the bread away, it came. However, not deliciously roasted like the first time. Too bad. The carafes of water (flat rate) were only refilled upon request. The waiting time for the main course was relatively long at almost 40 minutes and the portions were rather manageable. The taste of the food was largely convincing. However, the side salad (cucumber/fennel) was extremely salty. The ambience of the restaurant is really nice, stylish and cozy. Maybe we'll give it another try at some point.

Right from the start we had a strong feeling of “welcome” from the staff. The service was impeccable and on time until the end, perhaps one or two waiters spoke a bit quickly and quietly, but always in a friendly manner. We were constantly surprised by the 6 courses à la Chef and it remained exciting until dessert. The wine was exactly our thing, its name “Hefeabzug” was pretty weird. To eat: mussels, hake on risotto, zander crudo, mackerel on chips, bread with caviar & XO butter tasted really sensational! Our lower star is due to a single outlier in the total of 8 courses: the highly praised "shrimp pasta" was oversalted or over-seasoned, which was not at the first-class level of the other courses. Overall, we give a strong recommendation.

All around harmonious experience. The service was always courteous and cheerful. The food was terrific, I asked for the pasta crab and got it as an intermediate course, thank you very much for that. I prefer to write positive things, but unfortunately that will be difficult here. The best thing was the cocktail (Negroni) The concept is called minimalism, which in itself can be a good thing, but it directs the focus on the food like a stage spotlight. If you look at the prices, it's not a normal spotlight but a particularly bright one. If the stage performance is not right, then the disappointment is great. What did we have: Drinks (Negroni, passion fruit juice, water and a Chablis) everything OK... nothing special but OK Starter: Sardine and crudo from the day's catch, both technically ok, but not something that makes you say wow. Main course: trout and a side dish of roasted potato salad. Both are ok in terms of craftsmanship but nothing that makes me fall out of my chair with excitement. as well as Squid and as a side dish Risotto Milanese. The squid would turn in its grave what had been done to it, it was like rubber, the craftsmanship was not OK, the risotto was also not OK, it is clear that you cannot prepare the risotto fresh every time, but it looked good like the day before and tasted the same too. I don't know if I was just unlucky, but for the whole €155 there's just not enough craftsmanship or innovation or whatever. It was expensive and not even tasty. Sure, that could have been a snapshot, even a chef has a bad day and maybe the other dishes are much better, but to be honest I don't feel like doing an experiment like that again.

We were actually looking forward to a nice evening to celebrate a birthday, but unfortunately our visit was a real disappointment. It started with the women's toilets: dirty, no soap and one toilet was blocked - something like that really shouldn't happen. The service was also disappointing. Even though the restaurant wasn't full and there was enough staff, no one was really attentive. Our aperitif was completely forgotten and only came when we had almost finished the starter. Then the main course: We had ordered hake and trout, but the dishes came without any side dishes or sauce - the plate was simply empty. We had to wait a whole 45 minutes, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly full. Overall, the evening was unfortunately quite disappointing, especially since we were celebrating a birthday. We won't be going back here any time soon.

An absolute highlight for visitors to Hamburg - 5 stars! This restaurant is a must for every visitor to Hamburg and guarantees a wonderful evening. The food was excellent and deserves 4.5 stars. The dishes were deliciously prepared, even if one option was unfortunately no longer available at first seating - a shame, as it would have been my first choice. The service was the absolute highlight of the evening and deserves a full 5 stars. The staff was attentive, friendly and professional. They made sure we felt completely comfortable. The ambience also contributes to the overall experience and gets 4 stars. The atmosphere was inviting, perfect for a special evening. A small suggestion for improvement: When specifying a special occasion during the reservation, it would be nice if this were included in the greeting or during the course of the evening. Overall, an excellent experience that I would recommend to everyone. This restaurant definitely sets standards in the Hamburg gastronomy scene.

We decided on a four-course menu - Chef's Choice and were super happy with the selection and we were full too. The prices are high but commensurate with the quality. Great Food, nice place, super friendly staff. However, considering the price the service would have to be more considerate and attentive.
