XO Seafoodbar in Hamburg

Das Problem ist nicht das Restaurant selbst, sondern der nächtliche Lärm. Trotz mehrerer Beschwerden und sogar einer schriftlichen Bitte werden regelmäßig noch gegen 1:00 Uhr nachts Stühle auf Tische gestellt und laut verschoben. Die Schläge sind im gesamten Gebäude deutlich zu hören und stören die Nachtruhe erheblich. Für die Anwohner ist dieses Verhalten sehr rücksichtslos. Ich hoffe, dass die Geschäftsleitung dieses Problem endlich ernst nimmt und dafür sorgt, dass die Nachtruhe respektiert wird. Sollte sich nichts ändern, werden die nächtlichen Ruhestörungen künftig regelmäßig der Polizei gemeldet.

War gerade mit einem lieben Freund und Geschäftspartner hier essen und ich bin sehr begeistert. Service durch Leon und seine Kollegen top. Essen erstklassig. Ich freue mich aufs nächste Mal.

Ein wahres Paradies für Feinschmecker in einem lebhaften und stimmungsvollen Viertel! Der Service ist überaus freundlich. Das Essen ist hervorragend; der Hummer treibt die Rechnung zwar schnell in die Höhe, aber es lohnt sich absolut! Ein echter Geheimtipp!

Ein tolles Restaurant! Das Essen war sehr gut, der Wein sogar noch besser. Niedliche Fischfiguren an der Wand. Wir hatten nicht reserviert, bekamen aber trotzdem einen super Platz. Der Service war hervorragend. Ich habe das Restaurant meinen Freunden empfohlen, falls sie mal nach Hamburg fahren sollten, was ich sehr hoffe.

Das Restaurant stand schon lange auf unserer Genußliste. Die Erwartungen waren, auch aufgrund von Berichten aus dem Freundeskreis hoch. An diesem Abend durften wir ein Viergänge Menü genießen und wir waren begeistert. Der Service war freundlich und kompetent, die Weinkarte interessant kuratiert und das Essen einfach nur lecker. Alles zusammen ein perfekter Paarabend für meine Frau und mich, danach kann man sich dann wieder entspannt den Kindern widmen. 😉

Ein rundum wunderbares Erlebnis von A bis Z. Schon beim Ankommen fühlt man sich willkommen, und dieser Eindruck zieht sich durch den gesamten Besuch. Der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und stets präsent, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu wirken – genau die richtige Balance. Das Essen war nicht nur optisch ansprechend, sondern hat auch geschmacklich voll überzeugt. Jede Speise war liebevoll zubereitet und harmonisch abgestimmt. Insgesamt ein Besuch, der in bester Erinnerung bleibt. Vielen Dank für diesen gelungenen Abend!

Leider wurden unsere Erwartungen nicht erfüllt. Trotz Platzreservierung haben wir nicht den gewünschten Platz bekommen und vom Sommelier gab es keine gewünschte Weinempfehlung. Wir hatten ein 6-Gänge-Menue, doch das Signature-Gericht, die Pasta konnte geschmacklich leider nicht überzeugen und vom Service wurden wir zwischendurch auch noch vergessen. Offensichtlich ein ganz schlechter Tag-hoffentlich eine Ausnahme für die anderen Gäste. Sehr schade für uns, aber wir hoffen, dass das Restaurant sonst seinen üblichen hohen Standard zeigt.

Hochwertige, handwerklich perfekte und kreative Küche in modern stylischem Ambiente mitten in St. Pauli: Eine grandiose Kombination für Genießer, die überrascht werden möchten. Daher meine Empfehlung: Möglichst das Überraschungsmenü wählen, getreu dem französischen Motto "...Vertrauen Sie dem Koch". Das junge Team agiert freundlich, umsichtig und passt hervorragend in die quirlige und temperamentvolle Atmosphäre.

Fantastisches Essen und eine super Atmosphäre – man merkt sofort, dass es ein Ort ist, an dem man etwas Besonderes genießen möchte. Ich hatte ein Drei-Gänge-Menü mit wunderbar ausgewogenen und abwechslungsreichen Aromen, ein wahrer Genuss für die Sinne. Die Weinempfehlungen waren exzellent und das Personal äußerst professionell und kompetent.

Alles in Allem hatten wir einen wirklich runden Abend. Wir hatten das Chef's Choice und die Razor clams mit Ponzu waren wirklich unübertrefflich gut! Das Personal am Tisch wirkte zwar sehr freundlich aber etwas unmotiviert. Ambiente passt gut zum Konzept und wir fühlten uns insgesamt wohl :)

Die XO SEAFOOD BAR war für uns ein rundum gelungener Abend. Großartige Seafood Küche, alles super frisch, perfekt zubereitet und geschmacklich auf den Punkt. Dazu ein tolles Ambiente und ein Service, bei dem man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Ein besonderes Dankeschön geht an Lutz und das gesamte Team in Küche und Service für die herzliche Betreuung und den wirklich schönen Abend. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder.

Unkompliziert, ohne Getue, ohne aufdringliche Energie. Eine offene Küche, ein ruhiger Raum, freundlicher Service, der die Speisekarte kennt und Ihnen Zeit zum Genießen lässt. Sie sitzen da, beobachten die Küche, trinken großartige Cocktails, guten Wein und alles fühlt sich ganz entspannt an. Was wir gegessen haben: Sechs Gänge nach Wahl des Küchenchefs – und mehr… Die Küche bietet moderne Meeresfrüchte mit einem Hauch von Fusion-Küche, stets klar und perfekt abgestimmt. Dattel-Hummus mit gegrilltem Salat. Schlicht, aber unvergesslich. Rauchig, leicht süßlich, wunderbar ausbalanciert. Eines dieser Gerichte, von denen man immer wieder nascht, weil es einfach perfekt schmeckt. Gelbflossen-Hamachi mit gelbem Maisjus. Frischer, zarter Fisch mit einer Sauce, die mich an eine sanftere, mildere Version von Leche de Tigre erinnerte. Frisch, aber nicht scharf, und sehr lecker. Schmetterlings-Scampi mit knuspriger Ponzu-Sauce. Tolle Textur. Knackig, leicht und frisch, mit genau der richtigen Säure. Fischkroketten. Wohlfühlgerichte vom Feinsten. Außen knusprig, innen zart, nicht schwer. Nichts wirkte überladen oder kompliziert. Man konnte genau schmecken, was jedes Gericht sein sollte. Wein Die Weinkarte ist kurz, aber fein und perfekt auf die Speisen abgestimmt. Ein Bourgogne Chardonnay und ein Riesling Jungfer harmonierten wunderbar – frisch, ausgewogen und genau das, was man sich zu Meeresfrüchten wünscht. Warum es sich lohnt, hinzugehen Im XO Seafood Bar geht es nicht um Spektakel oder Prominenz. Es geht um gute Zutaten, raffinierte Küche und eine entspannte Atmosphäre, in der sich alles natürlich anfühlt. Ein Ort, an den man gerne zurückkehrt – selbst in Jogginghose und bequemer Weihnachtshose. Ob für ein ungezwungenes Abendessen, ein Date oder einfach nur ein gutes Glas Wein und ein exzellentes Essen.

Unser „Top Eindruck“ ist bestätigt worden. Vor einem Jahr waren wir hier schon mal. Die Bar am Eingang serviert coole Mischungen, auch leckere Alkohol freie Varianten und auch vollen Stoff. Das Publikum ist sehr international, halb Europa vertreten. Spannend. Neben mir saß ein Rezensent von Google mit 16,9 Mio Views, schnief. Zusammen haben wir über 25 Mio hinbekommen. Und viele weitere Restaurant Tips ausgetauscht. Irrer Abend. Insgesamt: Coole lockere Athmo und leichte Berieselung. „Unser Tisch“ war der gleiche wie letztes Mal, stand aber etwas anders als letztes Mal, das fällt mir immer schwer, als leichter „Monk“. Egal. Schwups 4 Gänge Menu zielsicher ausgesucht. Und jetzt der Knaller; eines vegetarisch, eins Gluten frei und eins „normal“. Wahnsinn, was ihr alles möglich gemacht habt. Danke. Der Service ist super nett und arbeitet hier voll gerne, das ist sehr spürbar :-) Gruß ans Team. Da musste ordentlichst Trinkgeld in die Kasse… Der Riesling von Bürklin Wolf kommt gut zur Jakobsmuschel mit fermentierten Fenchel und der Spezial Salsa und zum Rest auch. Wir hatten noch Austern aus den Niederlanden vorweg, ein frische Traum, wie selbst in der Bretagne gesucht und geerntet. Die invasive Austern-Art muss weg, also auch noch ne gute Tat für die Umwelt. Das nächste Highlight waren Venus Muscheln in Chili Sauce mit Lauchzwiebeln. Alles wurde ausnahmslos aufgeschleckt. Brot mit echtem und mit vegetarischem Kaviar war sehr lecker, Sauerteig warm mit Salz Butter geht immer. Der grüne halbierte Salat mit fermentierten Karotten, Kürbis und Dattelhummus ist für mich ein besonderes Highlight. Danach gab es Ramachi, ich glaube es ist Gelbschwanz-Makrele in leckerer Mais Sauce mit Spezial Verfeinerung. Sehr sehr lecker. Der Weg für den Pasta Gang wurde bereitet. Pasta mit Nordsee Krabben und leichtem Hummer-Essenz Geschmack. Macht einen guten geschmacklichen Bogen zum Rotbarsch Filet danach mit Fregula sarda Spezial. Durch irgendwas gepresste Basismasse, irre lecker und aufwändig. Teller 100% sauber gemacht. Blieb noch der Weg zum Dessert. Es gab auch noch nen kleinen Schoko Muffin mit salzigem Sesamöl Eis. Gruß in die Küche. Die Kombi schaffen eigentlich nur sehr begnadete Küchen Freaks. Wahnsinn. Die Creme Chantilly mit Wallnuss und Kaviar waren ein gelungenes After Burner Nachglimmen. Der leichte Salzgeschmack kam vom Kaviar. Der Espresso Macchiato rundete die Geschmackliche Reise gut ab. Crema im oberen Mittelfeld. Wir mögen sehr eure Kompositionen und Fermentierungen. Einen Wunsch hätte ich doch noch: Besseres Abluft Mangement. Die Klamotten waren schon ziemlich „eingeräuchert“, egal, wäre aber vielleicht noch zu verbessern. Diesmal kommen wir schneller wieder. This was our second visit, and we were so impressed after our first visit that we really wanted to try sitting at the bar. We highly recommend doing so. It's fun to watch the young chefs at work, and you can chat with them here and there. The first time we had the four-course menu, this time the six-course one. The food was delicious. The signature pasta could have used a bit more seasoning; I remembered it being better the first time. The catch of the day was perhaps a little dry, but overall the dish was still very well done. The team there is fantastic, and I think it's great that you can watch them work. We also thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails and received excellent advice. All in all, a truly wonderful and memorable evening! We spent a very pleasant few hours there :)

Top-notch cuisine without being stuffy. We felt comfortable from the very first "Moin" (a traditional North German greeting). The food alone was a culinary delight, and the perfectly paired wines complemented it beautifully. Thank you for this wonderful evening! We'll be back.

We ate here yesterday and were absolutely thrilled. Great atmosphere, really great service (friendly, attentive, helpful), and delicious food. We also got a delicious non-alcoholic daiquiri upon request. If there's a new menu for winter, we'll definitely be back! Just keep in mind that parking is really difficult.

We were 4 men who ate a 6 course seafood meal. It was good. But a bit overdone with mussels and other shells. Extra quality that there was a small crab inside a mussel :-) Good service and good atmosphere.

It was very disappointing and, unfortunately, simply poor service. On top of that, they charged a flat rate of €5 per person for tap water. Any inquiries and questions were met with unfriendly responses, with the suggestion that we could go elsewhere. Sad!

My wife and I had a great experience at XO. We sat at the counter, which I would recommend if you like to watch and interact with the kitchen staff preparing the food, and we ordered the fixed price, four course chef's menu. It was really great. The food was tasty, and it was fun talking to the kitchen crew. Gabi took care of us from behind the counter, and she, along with the rest of her colleagues, did a great job. We especially liked that they would take the time to answer any questions we had about the food. They were very nice and talented. Our favorite food items were the razor clam appetizer, the main, which was perfectly cooked char, and the dessert, a tarte tartin with french plums. Highly recommend. Great experience.

We had a fantastic evening here yesterday. The food was excellent, the service extremely attentive. We will be back.

We didn't like the famous crab pasta, of all things. I had it as a starter and was totally disappointed; it had a dull taste. But I didn't say anything so as not to influence my friends. Two of them had the pasta as their main course and said exactly the same thing. All the other dishes were good, albeit on the high side.

We wanted to spend one last relaxing evening and enjoy a nice meal before our return trip. The appetizers took a while to arrive, but they were tasty. For the main course, I had pasta with crab, and my wife had the catch of the day. Unfortunately, despite repeated requests, the team wasn't able to bring additional sauce within 45 minutes – and the pasta was quite dry anyway. Since we were sitting so close to the kitchen, we also overheard people mocking our request ("They shouldn't be so fussy, everyone wants sauce... there's enough sauce"). In this case, the concept of the semi-open kitchen proves to be more of a disadvantage. Our subsequent complaint was also dismissed – it was "not that bad" and one shouldn't "take it personally." Other guests may see things differently, but unfortunately, we're left with the impression that we probably won't be coming back.

We spontaneously got a table and were delighted. Not only was the creative food excellent, but the service was also perfect. Very competent and courteous. The wine recommendation was fantastic. Thank you for the lovely evening. We'll be happy to come back.

We came here for my brother birthday party, but the experience we had was very unpleasant. The manager was not helpful to the training servers for our table. The pasta smells unpleasant, smells old, and when we complained to the manager, he made the attitude and without giving any reasons back to us.

Bad experience. Overrated price. Poor the chef and the owner for having bad team of operations. Bad setup, very hot inside, small table, dont come here for group over 2 pax. Don’t order pasta, their pasta is old, and it’s ramen not pasta. Please re consider, there are many more better places. Bad wine despite us asking for the best option for german wine. Servers dont attend us enough, we had to ask 2 times for refilling wine and nothing happened, we had to pick our own bottle to refill, thats when manager made the face and attitudes to us. Horrible and expensive experience.

Very weird neighborhood, very tight/small restaurant setup, extremely small table, very uncomfortable. Worst and most expensive pasta menu in the city, pasta smell old and very bland taste for 30+ euro. Overrated price and boring wine list. Trainee staff was serving us and had to go back to the unprofessional manager every time. The manager was rude and making the face back to us after we commented about pasta quality. At least the mussel was nice… otherwise this would be our worst night in Hamburg.

Bad atmosphere, hot, dark, messy. Make sure you sit outside with cigarettes smell, much better than inside, don’t risk. Pasta is nasty, smell like coming from 6 months+ dry package, no where close to fresh (per manager’s claim) and instead of accepting client’s comment nicely, the male manager intentionally ignored us afterwards, we got to ask 2 times to refill the wine, nothing happened. Once we stood up to take the bottle ourselves, the manager made fun and stupid faces, attitudes. If you’re looking for good mussels, fish… maybe, if you are looking for good pasta and services, think twice or more.

Bad experience, manager is not professional, treat customers unequally, pasta is not nice (old with bad smell i would say). The male manager (wearing personal attire) intentionally ignored us and making the "atitude", after we commented about pasta. Overated price to what you get really. Don't risk.

We enjoyed the four-course menu and were impressed, even if not everything was entirely to our liking. We'll be happy to return on our next visit to Hamburg.

We had a wonderful evening at the XO Seafood Bar and enjoyed an outstanding 6-course menu. Every dish was creative, perfectly balanced, and delicious. Our table overlooking the open kitchen was a highlight, and the kitchen team behind it was also very friendly. A big thank you to Lukas, our waiter, who made the evening perfect with his attentive and warm manner. We will definitely be back!

We booked for a birthday but we had nothing about. Food: Very expensive for the quantity/quality. Bread was ok, oysters very dry and cheewy, sashimi was ok and mussels were also good. The pasta was not really balanced and fish was served a bit undercooked Disappointed by the dessert, really poor. Service: Our waiter take care of our table in a good way, we had a long waiting on the main course but nothing crazy about. Was nice to have the chefs coming at the table to explain the dish. So far the place has a good ambience but the prices are not justified by the overall quality.

My wife and I recently dined at XO Seafoodbar and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. We arrived a bit early—before their official opening—and were greeted warmly by a waiter who, despite the staff being in their pre-service briefing, graciously stepped away to welcome us with a glass of champagne and offered us seats on the outside terrace (it was a sunny, pleasant evening). This level of attentiveness and customer focus set the tone for the entire visit. Once we were seated, we started with a beautifully presented Sashimi as a starter, followed by the catch of the day—Salmon-bass (Adlerfisch)—served as a phenomenal filet accompanied by perfectly prepared vegetables. We paired our meal with an outstanding 2020 Chenin Blanc from Domaine Arnaud Lambert (sadly, their last bottle), which complemented the dishes perfectly. For dessert, my wife enjoyed a delicious Tarte Tatin while I had one of the best Negronis I've ever tasted—kudos to the bartender! Throughout the evening, the entire team at XO Seafoodbar was friendly, proactive, and attentive, ensuring a truly memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking exceptional seafood, top-notch service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Wir waren zum dritten Mal in diesem Restaurant und bis zum letzten Mal hat alles gepasst und alles sehr lecker geschmeckt. Der Service ist hier sehr gut und sehr freundlich. Diesmal waren wir allerdings nicht ganz zufrieden. Die berühmte Pasta-Krabbe schwamm in einer sehr fetten Soße und war viel zu viel überpfeffert. Wir wollten es beanstanden und zurückgegeben, allerdings haben wir es nicht gemacht. Ich habe aber meine Calamaretti Calabria zurückgegeben, die Soße war viel zu fett und Calamaretti waren viel zu bitter. Unsere Laune hat ein leckerer Wein und der sehr leckere Hauptgang, Catch of the Day, ein Adlerfisch, aufgemuntert . Abschließend hätten wir uns nur für den Hauptgang mit Wein und Dessert entscheiden sollen.

Two people ate the course meal... I was disappointed after reading the reviews. The food was fresh and good using caviar. The pasta is very salty and expensive for the price.

This place is exceptional, not only for the food but also atmosphere and most definitely service. This place came recommended to us from a local and we now understand why. First they graciously switched our table to make it more accessible to my mom with a health ailment. The servers were in general very nice and we are grateful they accommodated us in English. The food was awesome especially the trout and the bread. Lastly, I recommend the white negroni. One night in Hamburg and truly so memorable here!

Two days after I had reserved a table for 4 people (4 weeks in advance) and had already provided my credit card details, the table was canceled by the restaurant. On the originally planned day, I received an email asking if I wanted to come because there was probably an error in the reservation software. I can't judge the food, I found the treatment of me as a potential guest strange.

Absolute recommendation!!! The ambience, the food and the great service more than convinced us, we will definitely come back!!! For starters we had the sourdough bread with miso butter and caviar, then the crab pasta and the freshly caught fish of the day - in this case cod with onion puree, hollandaise and savoy cabbage. At the end, of course, we didn't miss the homemade apple tart. All around an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE!!! (Of course we can also recommend the wine ;-)) A special thanks to Leon, who made our evening perfect! Kind regards from Düsseldorf and see you soon XO!

Great place for the seafood and fish lovers! Price value worth taking Menu option as you get a lot of variety for the money (4 course menu for 79 Euro per person). Drinks are on a higher end but portions are generous. What is really pricy compared to the other restaurants of the same league are oysters - 5 Euro for 1 oyster, so personally would not take it again. Overall great experience, stylish place and friendly staff.

Tenemos el menú de chefs de 4 platos y nos quedamos gratamente sorprendidos. Los mejillones de barbacoa eran un punto culminante seguro, y el skri estaba delicioso. Sentí que el sashimi decepcionó la experiencia como el pescado sabe a nada... El personal era muy amable e hizo un gran trabajo para garantizar que toda la comida estaba preparada de forma segura para mi esposa embarazada.

The dishes were delicious. The professional and very friendly welcome. We ate a la carte. The sauces that accompany the vongole and red squid are a delight…finish the plate with your spoon 😀we will return in summer for the new menu and the terrace

We were absolutely thrilled with the XO Seafood Bar. Top food, very tasty Prosecco as an aperitif, great wine. The service also appealed to us, with its casual but at the same time very competent manner and a joke on its lips. In addition to the furnishings, this made the whole atmosphere seem pleasantly relaxed and appropriate. Price-performance was absolutely fine for the quality on offer! The only thing that bothered us briefly was the water flat rate, as it seemed as if it applied to both sparkling water and still water, but we were then charged the flat rate twice (i.e. €5 each). Maybe that's okay in principle, but perhaps you could have mentioned at the beginning when offering it that you should decide or that there are two flat rates (especially if there are only two of you). But we will definitely overlook this little thing or misunderstanding and would recommend the XO Seafoodbar to others and would definitely come back ourselves.

We spontaneously wanted to go out to eat in a good restaurant. Researched on the internet and became aware of the seafood bar. The table reservation online worked great. The food was great and the service was a 10/10. I suffer from two food allergies and we specified these when we reserved the table. Someone from the kitchen immediately came to the table and explained to me that they would be happy to conjure up alternatives and that I didn't have to worry. It's rare to experience such good service! Absolute recommendation if you want to treat yourself to a good evening :)

The table reservation via the reservation system was a bit adventurous but ultimately successful. We were greeted very friendly and the five of us sat at the table a few steps up. The service was attentive, we tried our way through the appetizers in a very uncomplicated manner: clams, BBQ clams, sashimi and the pasta crab - with delicate taste explosions in the first three appetizers mentioned. At the beginning we each chose a delicious cocktail that was unknown to us. The main courses (fish, calmar, lobster) were a little more simply presented, but cooked to perfection and seasoned appropriately and aromatically. The ambience is casual, the background noise is spirited, but everything is harmonious. For dessert we chose a delicacy called Coup Denmark, which we have never experienced before! It was a successful culinary evening, we will be back. (Unfortunately no photos, we love to eat and enjoy...)

Extraordinary experience – a perfect evening! We had the pleasure of spending an evening at XO Seafood in Hamburg - and it was simply fantastic! As soon as you enter the restaurant you can feel the special atmosphere: stylish design, a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere and an attentive team that warmly welcomes you. The food? Simply sensational! The quality of the seafood is outstanding – fresh, perfectly prepared and combined with creative, sophisticated flavors. We were particularly impressed by the presentation of the dishes, which were served with great attention to detail. The service was excellent: friendly, competent and always there at the right time. We felt completely comfortable and enjoyed every moment. XO Seafood is definitely a recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy great seafood creations in a special atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Very attentive but unobtrusive service - perfect! We had a separate table in the front area, so we noticed relatively little of the rest of the ambience. Had the 6-course Chef's Choice Menu and all courses were top!
