Sehr leckeres Essen und ein super Service! Besonders begeistert hat mich die freundliche und kompetente Beratung. Auf meine Frage, welchen Fisch ich als eher “langweiliger” Seelachsfilet-Esser einmal probieren sollte, hat sich der Service viel Zeit genommen und mir eine tolle Empfehlung gegeben. Als Highlight bekam ich sogar noch ein zusätzliches Stück Barsch zum Probieren. So macht es Spaß, Neues zu entdecken. Ich komme auf jeden Fall gerne wieder! Viele Grüße aus Dresden.

Dieses Restaurant serviert köstlichen Fisch zu fairen Preisen. Die Portionen sind für japanische Verhältnisse großzügig, und selbst Männer werden satt. Aufgrund seiner Beliebtheit sind die Gerichte schnell ausverkauft; bei meinem Besuch um 12:45 Uhr an einem Wochentag waren bereits etwa fünf Gerichte vergriffen. Wenn Sie etwas Bestimmtes bestellen möchten, kommen Sie am besten früh. Das Restaurant hat eine ruhige Atmosphäre. Neben Touristen essen hier auch viele Einheimische allein, und das Publikum ist tendenziell etwas älter.

Sehr lecker, sehr freundlich, absolut empfehlenswert

Neuerdings funktioniert auch Kartenzahlung. Nur die Klofrau wünscht sich Bares. Es ist Tradition, lieblos, Schema-F, eigentlich zu teuer. Einmal im Jahr kann man machen. Wäre es günstiger, wäre der Laden voller, wäre der Gewinn sicher besser.

Ich bin total begeistert von dem Laden. Tolles Sechzigerjahre Ambiente und das Personal ist noch genauso aufmerksam und kundenorientiert wie in den Sechzigern. Ich hatte nur beim letzten Mal ein wenig Pech mit der Scholle.

Dieses Restaurant zum ersten Mal besucht. Ich komme wieder, wenn ich mal wieder in Hamburg bin. Habe leckere Scholle mit Bratkartoffeln bestellt. Alles verputzt. 😊👍

Das Essen ist lecker und das Personal kommt gut rüber aber die Frau bei dem Empfang (außer Haus Bereich) ist immer schlecht gelaunt. Zumindest bei meinen letzten 4 Besuchen.

Ausgezeichnete Auswahl an frischem Fisch und aufmerksamer Service.

War zum ersten Mal dort. Leider hat weder der Kartoffelsalat, noch der Backfisch geschmeckt. Kenne ich anders und auch günstiger. War sehr enttäuscht und das war der erste und letzte Besuch bei Daniel Wischer.

Das Essen war sehr einfach gehalten und leider ohne Salz und Pfeffer. Keine Soße beim Fisch, nur Remolade. Dafür war der Fisch sehr frisch.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Atmosphäre war toll, und es gab eine Köchin, die mir sehr geholfen hat, den Fisch und mein Lieblingsgericht auszuwählen.

Immer wieder ein Muss, wenn ich in Hamburg bin. Frischer Fisch und gute Portionen. An der Praxis Bargeld only wird eisern festgehalten.

Sehr gemütliches Fischrestaurant, welches zum Verweilen einlädt. Eine sehr entspannte Atmosphäre und trotzdem hat man innerhalb kürzester Zeit sein Essen. Ausreichend grosse Portionen und geschmacklich echt lecker. Ich hatte Fisch mit Senfsosse und Kartoffelbrei. Die netten Damen für den Service sind sehr freundlich und strahlen eine Gelassenheit aus, die man im anderen Restaurant in der Innenstadt nicht so erlebt. Dort ist es sehr laut und hektisch, das Essen aber genau so gut. Hier muss jeder für sich entscheiden, was er lieber mag. Um die Ecke ist ein Parkhaus, welches man für diesen Besuch gut nutzen kann. Wir kommen aus Duisburg und waren jetzt das 3. Mal im Restaurant. Gerne wieder!

Gut - wie immer. Traditionelle Karte ohne viel gedöns. Mir hat die Fischsuppe sehr gut geschmeckt mit viel verschiedenen Fisch und Meeresfrüchten.

Ein rustikales Fischlokal im alten Stil, das hält, was es verspricht. Ich liebe es, hier direkt an der offenen Küche am Eingang ein unkompliziertes Mittagessen zu genießen. Stellt euch ein zartes Fischfilet in knuspriger, luftiger Panade vor, dazu einen großzügigen Klecks Remoulade und einen grünen Bohnensalat im Retro-Stil. Einfach, klassisch und absolut köstlich 🐟🍋

Für mich eine Hamburger Institution. Leider gibt es solche Authentische Fischrestaurants immer weniger oder gar nicht mehr. Liebe Inhaber, bitte lasst alles so wie es ist!

Uriges Fischrestaurant wie in alten Zeiten. Sehr frisch und super lecker. Alles passt sehr gut zusammen und man fühlt sich einfach ein paar Jahre in der Zeit zurückgedreht. Auch das Publikum und der Service passt gut in die location. Sehr lecker und jedes Mal obligatorisch, wenn wir in Hamburg sind.

Der Fisch und die sonstigen Speisen sind lecker. Im Imbissbereich kann man zusehen, wie das Essen angerichtet wird. Die Frau an der Kasse bereitet nebenher auch Fischbrötchen und andere kleine Bestellungen zu. Die Frau trägt dabei zwar Handschuhe, aber mit denen werden Zwiebeln, Salatblätter und auch das Geld angefasst. Das finde ich unhygenisch. Nicht zeitgemäß finde ich auch, das dort nur Barzahlung möglich ist.

Zum wiederholten Mal bei Wischer. Ein Muss wenn man eine Städtetour in Hamburg macht.

Seit vielen Jahren besuchen wir Daniel Wischer und sind jedes Mal von der konstant hochwertigen Qualität begeistert. Warum Veränderung, wenn das Konzept Jahrzehnte überdauert und Erfolg hat. Erinnerungen werden wach, alles bleibt wie es ist und war. Der Service, die Einrichtung und das Essen sind perfekt. Der frische Fisch ohne Schnick-Schnack, die Beilagen exzellent und klar im Geschmack. Der Service freundlich und professionell, der Preis gut kalkuliert und sogar die Gäste lächeln. Alles wie immer- genau wie erwartet. Ich hoffe, es bleibt so! Danke an Euch. Bis bald!

Unfortunately, I have a very unpleasant experience to report. The two of us were sitting on chairs outside the restaurant and had just received our fish and chips, which we were about to enjoy. At that moment, a drunk customer came out of the restaurant, fell, and landed directly on our food, scattering it all over our clothes and the street. It's absolutely idiotic and unnecessary, but it happens. What I can't understand, however, is the restaurant's reaction. When we went inside to point out the situation and asked if they could perhaps clean up the mess for the other customers, and politely inquired whether we could possibly receive some kind of compensation, such as at least one of our two portions, the drunk man finally came out of the restaurant, and we had already been harassed outside on the restaurant's premises. But instead of at least slightly improving our mood, we were met with an unempathetic and, on top of that, unfriendly dismissal, and told that if we wanted anything else, we should buy it. Isn't that no way to treat customers? I also don't know if something like this is good for the restaurant, after all, dozens of people saw the incident and the restaurant's reaction to it.

The restaurant on Steinstrasse still has that 1950s flair. The fish is always delicious. And they serve original Fassbrause (a type of German soft drink). Awesome!

The food is excellent, as is the service; the ambiance is rustic and very old, but okay. I'd gladly come again.

After a long time, I finally visited Daniel Wischer's restaurant on Steinstraße again. The decor is a bit dated by today's standards, but I like that. I ordered directly at the counter, and the food arrived very quickly. It was delicious, just like I remember from my childhood. My only complaint was the cashier. The woman was incredibly unfriendly and disinterested. It's a real shame because it really detracted from my experience. She was wearing a latex glove to prepare the food, but then she used the same hand to put food in her mouth. That was truly unhygienic and disgusting.

Great atmosphere! Unfortunately, the fish was far too dry for both of us. And the fact that they don't accept card payments in 2025 is simply unacceptable!

A classic Hamburg fish and chips restaurant (since 1924). The dishes and atmosphere are just like they were back then; classic, delicious, generous portions, and excellent value! The staff is very friendly and attentive. (Thanks for the tip about the cod!)

A good old-school Hamburg restaurant. Time has stood still here, creating a traditional oasis in the modern metropolis. Delicious fish like grandma used to make. No frills, no fancy decorations. Simply good, traditional Hanseatic food. That's how it was, that's how it is, and hopefully, that's how it will stay.

Daniel Wischer on Steinstraße is a Hamburg institution! I loved coming here as a child, and I'm always happy to return! Top-notch service, top-notch fish! My recommendation: boiled fish! Cod with mustard sauce! But the classics, fried fish, sea bass, etc., are also great! I recommend potato salad with bacon! And (from my childhood) a large draft beer! :)

Lunch at Daniel Wischer's, Steinstraße 15. As usual, delicious fish, all the side dishes from the kitchen. A very cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of the days when my mother would always take me for a fish dinner after a shopping trip downtown. Back then, the order was always "goldfish, potato salad, and draft beer."

If you're looking for good fried fish, this is the place for you. The service is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is reminiscent of 30 years ago and just fits the bill.

As a long-time Hamburg resident, I feel a strong connection to this fish restaurant. I like the ambiance and the local flavor. I enjoy the food exceptionally well. It's good value for money, and the quality of the food is decent.

A Hamburg classic for decades. Unfortunately, the sea bass was sold out, but the alternative, baked plaice fillet with potato salad and remoulade, was very good. A glass of Fassbrause (a kind of sparkling wine) was legendary. The service team was prompt and extremely friendly. The ambiance—well, a bit old-school. But that's not what Daniel Wischer is all about for me.

The price-performance ratio is right! I love that the fries aren't frozen but taste like freshly made, 'real' fries. The atmosphere is authentic and cozy. I'll be back.

My husband was with you today and bought fried plaice to take home. It was delicious and the price was just right. I'd be happy to come again.

It was still as I remembered it as a child.

Supposedly an institution in the fish sector, I found our food bland, the side dishes rather dry, and the potato salad drowned in an indefinable sauce. I wouldn't go back.

Food was okay, service was okay. Prices are too high for the mediocre quality. And unfortunately, you can't even pay with debit cards; only cash. At least there are enough tables...

I'm nostalgically in love with the almost historic ambiance (which is why I always go to Steinstraße!), the consistent quality over the decades (yes, the portions have gotten smaller in the last 10 years, but how else could you offer such quality at such a low price!), and the ladies serving the food. A real gem, and I hope I can continue to pamper my Hamburg visitors here for a long time to come!

Ich wahr schon als Kind mit meinem Papa da es wahr lecker knusprig frisches Fett etc. Leider sag ich als Koch ist es nur noch Fastfood ohne liebe . Simple Dinge sind lecker, sie sollten auch frisch sein und mit liebe zubereitet werden. das ist leider nicht mehr der fall.

A journey back in time to the land of the iconic fried fish! Our fried fish (green herring, yellow perch) came from two huge deep fryers. They taste great. The side dishes of potato salad (South German style) and mashed potatoes are also highly recommended. The interior design and service quality have a time travel character. Recommendation!

When I got off the train station, it was the first place I went to to feel like I had arrived in Hamburg. There were polite employees and delicious fish. I had the mixed fried fish plate, it was quite delicious, and the potato salad was also amazing! The prices are a little high, but I can say that it is normal for such a famous and beautiful place.
