The fish soup is so seafoody yummy n nice on cold weather days. It's not only fish..more a seafood soup. Recommended.

The food was of the highest quality and was brought to the table quickly after ordering. The service person Louisa [last name redacted] served us extremely friendly and quickly. Definitely a restaurant visit that we will repeat on our next HH visit!

We were tourists in Hamburg for a few days, and of course eating fish was part of it for us. First at the town hall square (very nice and very good, prices for fresh fish absolutely okay, quality very good! The next day in the fast food restaurant, ambience is old but there is also great quality and also highly recommended. If you are in Hamburg is a MUST!

The service was good even if a little hasty, and unfortunately I found the way in which the tip was asked for when paying the bill a bit insistent. I understand that it's a matter of different habits but I would much prefer to have the tip already calculated as a percentage and just pay. That said, very good food, really, worth a visit. High prices, small portions. Positive experience overall.

Absolutely snotty service, there were three of us and we wanted a specific table, which was free. But not possible. I wanted to order a fish sandwich and eat it at the table. Not possible either. Insanely bad service. Then we left again. We were there the day before. Everything was fine there.

If you're looking for a really decent fish restaurant in the center of HH and don't mind crowds, this is the place for you! The many extremely good reviews distort expectations and ultimately reduce the consistently good performance in the middle of the hustle and bustle of HH with many tourists and guests from the surrounding offices/stores. So it's understandable that the seating in the relatively small restaurant is a bit cramped. But the cuisine is good, especially the fish soup. The portions are again quite manageable, e.g. pan fish = 2 pieces of fish, served on a small (!) plate. Price-enjoyment ratio for HH melting pots is okay. The service is usually quite quick and attentive. The toilets are on the 1st floor, so not easily accessible for some people. Conclusion, try it out, according to the motto: Eat fish, then you stay healthy & fresh ;)

Wanted to try Labskaus as my friends who are from Hamburg said it was a must try. O M G! Amazing. The fish soup was also incredible could eat that everyday! My husband had the 3 fried fish platter and said it was also delicious! Service was great and I can't wait to come back for more soup!

We were very disappointed. The pan fish was dry, the rösti tasted like frozen and fatty. The fried potatoes were good. Unfortunately there were only 200ml drinks apart from water and beer. The waitresses were fake friendly. However, what shocked, touched and angered us the most was something else. An older, unkempt gentleman who didn't smell very good came into the restaurant. First he was seated at a table. When the gentleman looked at the menu for a while and wanted to order, one of the waitresses asked him to leave because he didn't smell good. Surely there would have been another option.

We wanted to eat comfortably and got a table straight away. The service was very friendly. The food was brought quickly. It looked good and tasted good. When I was in the toilet and I looked into the kitchen, I was horrified. If I had seen the condition of the kitchen before ordering, I would have left immediately. Unfortunately, the nasty surprise came later. We both got stomach cramps and couldn't tolerate the food. Our health was very bad. I would never eat in this restaurant again. I would like the health department to check things here too.

A good place with two ordering options: take-out and on-site. There is a takeaway counter where you can choose a dish. The preparation is quick and the prices are cheaper than in the restaurant. Therefore, I recommend this option if someone wants to eat something quickly. The portions in the restaurant are large and filling. The prices are above average.

Had dinner there on a recommendation - well... “Snack bar” in the front area In the rear area Condition / Local. Fish sandwiches were freshly made, very tasty. Fish cake with fries, well, unfortunately the meatball wasn't my taste in terms of spices - but it's all a matter of taste. Fries too dry. Remoulade is great Fried fish ok... All in all, unfortunately expected more. The price is also a bit more expensive... I found it very negative that you had to pay to use the toilets...

Ambience was nice, service was very nice. The food didn't blow us away. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a meal that would make us say, "Wow, we haven't eaten something so delicious in a long time." We found the food far too expensive for the little fish we had. Potato salad was no better than at home, fried potatoes were ok. I don't understand the hype, but I don't have to. Fortunately, tastes are different.

I always have a bit of a teary eye here, I know DW from the 70s, where you paid 8 or 9 DM for the golden perch fillet with potato salad. Different times now and DW has of course moved with the times. But: the classics are still there and the ambience is of course chic and the service is (still) on point. In terms of price, of course, it's now in a different league, but it's always worth a visit.

When visiting Hamburg, I personally think a visit to a fish restaurant should not be missed. We came across this restaurant by chance. We ordered a fish soup as a starter and I tell you, you MUST try it. For the main course there was fried fish with remoulade and potato salad. Everything tasted great. . The price-performance ratio was very suitable. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. We'd love to come back.

Premier repas à Hambourg et belle découverte de la cuisine hambourgeoise. Poisson à gogo. Nous avons goûté les harengs. Ils étaient excellents et hyper frais. Les plats sont très copieux, nous n’avions faim pour tester les desserts. Service efficace et sympathique. Excellent rapport qualité-prix.

Ich bin sonst sehr gerne und oft hier gewesen. Leider wurde ich von der Bedienung ohne Grund dermassen unfreundlich und respektlos behandelt. Vor allen Gäste wurde lautstark geschrien. Sowas ist mir noch nie passiert.

We got the fish platter and it was okay... Nothing outstanding. The service wasn't great. It was really hard to get their attention and they seemed to avoid us because we could not speak german, even though we were actually being polite and just pointed to stuff on the menu. She forgot the salad we ordered too. There is also a weird setup where they guilt you into "voluntarily" paying for the toilet, even though it's part of the restaurant. The location is good if you're waiting for a tour outside the townhall... But that's about it.

An original fish restaurant in the city center opposite the town hall

The entrance area is always full because the area in front of the take-out sale is not very large. My golden perch roll was a joke. €7.50 for a roll with a lettuce leaf, some remulade and a piece of fish the size of three fingers. The tourist doesn't go back and complain. We went to dinner on the Alster. My wife's Bismarck herring roll was ok. The guest has to pay extra for the toilet. The cleaning lady is waiting in front of the toilets and has a plate on the table in front of her.

The food here was delicious, but the bistro at the front wasn't really comfortable. It's very tight there and there's a lot of walking through the crowd, which gives the meal a certain stressful touch. However, if you're lucky and have some time, you can avoid the stress factor by getting a seat at the back of the restaurant.

In search of fish sandwiches, which are available in a good selection here, we sat down in the restaurant. For us there was: fish soup (very generously filled), crabs with baked potatoes, salmon fillet with fries and calamari with fresh salad and baguette. The food was of great quality and really tasty! The service was very friendly and overall a comfortable stay. A must for fish lovers!

The food itself was good but the ladies at the checkout were incredibly rude. They should work on their behavior. Unfriendly and annoyed looks and the sales lady not only used a very bad tone but also spoke in a passive aggressive voice. It's a shame, because the chefs seem nice.

**Shocking discrimination and extremely unfriendly staff** This restaurant visit was a disaster! As a wheelchair user, my mother was literally locked out because she had to eat her fish sandwich in the bistro - a bistro that is not at all suitable for people in wheelchairs because there are only high tables with bar stools. Instead of offering a solution or showing even a modicum of understanding, the staff was rude and extremely unfriendly. She was not offered any support - instead she was treated disrespectfully, even though there were free low tables and chairs available in the restaurant. It is unbelievable that such discriminatory and inhumane behavior is being displayed today. If you're hoping for accessibility or friendly service, you should definitely avoid this restaurant.

An absolute “must” when you are in Hamburg. Daniel Wischer is certainly no longer an insider tip, but the fish restaurant is really top! You can't eat fish better and, above all, cheaper in the city center. The service is very attentive and the portions are really big. The fish is super fresh and tastes delicious. The fish soup alone is enough to fill you up. We shared them and then ate the fried fish plate together. Thanks to the entire team!

Fast service, good cuisine, there are tables with service in the back area. The only drawback is that at the entrance to the toilet area you have to pay to use it as a restaurant customer - although you have to quickly without a bag)) A star deduction for that. Otherwise everything is fine.

Was there today, after seven years. I'm very disappointed, fish & chips to go for €12 was an absolute failure. Too salty and the garlic sauce tasted like it came from the Metro in a 10 liter bucket. A terrible experience. In the 80s I was a regular customer on Spitalerstrasse It was always a family experience. There was also the Brinkmann department store. Today it's more in keeping with chic. But it looks like it used to.

Very delicious food. Fresh fish and great cooking skills, flaky, juicy and full of fragrance. But, one particular staff was very rude to me. I was speaking with her in English and she spoke in English with me at first. She kept making comment in German when looking at me and making me feel very uncomfortable. I explained to her how she made me feel when speaking to me in lengthy sentences in a language that I do not understand. She ignored me and continue speaking faster and eventually she walked away while making comments in German in a few sentences. I did not feel welcomed and was not treated with respect by her as she was being dismissive and unkind. I asked her if she was talking about me and she kept speaking in German and she suddenly unable to speak in English. I spoke with another waiter and he was very friendly and took over the service. As a resturant, the food they provide is really good. I hope it was just an isolated incident.

No te dejes engañar por la cafetería / comida para llevar en la parte delantera - restaurante es agradable y casual - esto es una joya y mucho menos costoso que los lugares turísticos alrededor de Hauptbahnhoff. En riktig pärla! När man kommer in kan man beställa mat över disk och sitta på träbänkar, men det finns även bordsservering. Vi valde det senare. Vi tog en mycket god öl och fiskfrikadeller som var mycket goda. Remouladsåsen var himmelsk! Vi återkommer gärna till denna fina restaurang.
