Wonka Restaurant & Kochwerkstatt in Nürnberg

Die Verwandlung der Speisen in essbare Kunstwerke mitzuerleben, war ein Höhepunkt, auch wenn das vierstündige Dinner Geduld erforderte. Zudem war der Service für ein mit einem Michelin-Stern ausgezeichnetes Restaurant überraschend unprofessionell; dem Personal fielen zweimal Teller herunter, was für erhebliche Unruhe sorgte.

Ausgezeichneter Service und exzellentes Essen! Es war ein unvergesslicher Abend, vielen Dank!

Wir haben unseren Hochzeitstag hier verbracht und das 6-gängige Menü verköstigt. Bis auf das amuse bouche hat mich jede Speise komplett abgeholt. Herr Wonka versteht es gezielt Aromen zu kombinieren und so ganz neue Genüsse entstehen zu lassen. Beispielsweise hatten wir weisen Spargel, der nicht nur perfekt zubereitet war sondern geschmacklich komplett nach Kokos und Zitronengras geschmeckt hat. Das hat uns umgehauen. Die Weinbegleitung war ebenfalls sehr gut, genau so wie der Service. Im Vorfeld hatten wir einen Änderungswunsch der von Herr Wonka super umgesetzt wurde. Als wir ankamen wußte der Kellner sofort Bescheid, dass wir einen Änderungswunsch im Vorfeld geäußert haben. Das einzige was ich etwas schade finde ist dass den gesamten Abend über Herr Wonka nicht einmal zu unserem Tisch gekommen ist um sich vorzustellen oder paar Worte zu wechseln. Und das obwohl wir über weite Strecken die einzigen Gäste im Lokal waren. Im Service wurde auch augenscheinlich ein Azubi eingesetzt die es geschafft hat den kompletten Abend auch kein einiges Wort mit uns zu wechseln - aber gut, sie lernt offensichtlich noch. Das waren so die einzigen Punkte, die man sich in der Preisklasse anders gewünscht hätte aber gut. Insgesamt waren wir jedenfalls zufrieden und das Essen war definitiv mit das beste welches wir bisher probiert haben.

Das Mittagsmenü war einfach SAU gut!! Alle vier Gänge waren auf einem richtig hohen Niveau – besonders der weiße Spargel mit asiatischen Einflüssen war ein echtes Highlight. Super nette, zuvorkommende Gastgeber und insgesamt ein rundum stimmiges Erlebnis.

Alle Punkte!! Ich war nicht zum ersten Mal bei Wonka und bin auf neue begeistert. Phantastische Gerichte und wundervolles Personal. Sollte ich eine Rangliste der Gerichte erstellen, könnte ich es nicht weil alles mega war. Besonders hervorzuheben war aber das Nachtischtörtchen mit Wasabieis!! Absoluter Knaller!! War nicht das letzte Mal dass ich dort gewesen bin!!

Ambitioniert, aber noch nicht überzeugend

Ich habe lange überlegt ob ich vier oder fünf Sterne gebe: Das Essen war super duper lecker. Der Service war mehr als hervorragend. Das Ambiente war auch mega schön. Zum Essen: Alles war super lecker und sehr schön angerichtet. Alles Tip Top! Zum Service: Eine Person hatte das vegane Menü, das wurde einmal kommuniziert und danach nie wieder gefragt. Jede Servicekraft wusste Bescheid. Einfach Perfekt. Auch die Javken wurden uns wieder gegeben ohne zu Fragen welche unsere waren. Das war mit Abstand der Beste Service den ich je bekommen habe. Warum die Überlegung: In dem doch hochpreisigen Menüpreis war weder der Appertif noch das Wasser mit enthalten. Es wurde zusätzlich auch die Alkoholfreie Begleitung gewählt. Da hätte zumindest das Wasser durchaus im Preis enthalten sein können. Ansonsten alles super und sehr zu empfehlen!

Selbst unter Sterne Restaurants extrem guter Service, Essen, Getränkebegleitung und Ambiente!

Das Mittagsmenü war sehr lecker und mit rund 83 Euro für vier Gänge preislich angemessen. Der Service war ausgezeichnet. Wir haben es sehr genossen, jedes Gericht war mit viel Liebe zubereitet.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend in einem hervorragenden Restaurant. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, das Essen hat den Michelin Stern verdient und auch das Ambiente ist durchaus originell. Der sympathische Koch hat uns sogar die Bedeutung der Wandgemälde erklärt. Die alkoholfreie Begleitung zum 6-Gänge-Menü hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen.

Dünnen Köchen traut man nicht! Zu Recht! Was Christian Wonka hier macht ist ganz großes Kino auf dem Teller. Auf diese Genüsse muss man sich einlassen. Wer sich satt futtern will, ist hier sicher falsch, denn um Masse oder gar Sättigungsbeilagen geht es hier nicht. Wer allerdings Freude am Essen hat und mal erleben will was in einer Küche so alles möglich ist, dem wird es bei Wonka zweifellos gefallen. Hier stimmt einfach alles bis hin zur perfekten Temperatur der Getränkebegleitung und man hat nie das Gefühl, das der Chef sich das nicht genau überlegt hätte was Sie als Gast da vorgesetzt bekommen. Gehen Sie mal hin, wenn Sie sich der edlen Küche nähern möchten.

Das Wonka-Restaurant in Nürnberg bietet Küche auf absolutem Spitzen­niveau. Jeder Gang ist kreativ, perfekt abgestimmt und klar Michelin-Stern-würdig. Das stilvolle Ambiente und der aufmerksame Service runden das Erlebnis ab. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert!

Wonka has always been excellent and deservedly earned its Michelin star. Ingenious fusion cuisine with Asian influences. Not contrived, but rather well-thought-out ideas executed with real deliciousness – paired with friendly service, a pleasant atmosphere, and a lovely courtyard in the summer. Always worth a visit!

We had a wonderful lunch menu that impressed us with its taste experience, a consistent flavor dimension across the courses, and refined detail. What I'm trying to say is – it tasted fantastic. Details like the cream served with the homemade bread simply stand out from the rest. Everything is of the highest quality, but every now and then, you're touched even more deeply. In my case, it was the papaya salad with the trout – I've eaten this salad almost every day in Thailand over the past few weeks, in many variations, but this one, with its sour nuances and texture, surpassed everything else. All the ingredients on the duck plate were also fantastically well-matched. A dessert in which the pumpkin plays such a role without even remotely straying from the "dessert" theme... And so on. Very friendly service, too. Just be sure to allow yourself some time, even at lunch, but also to appreciate this quality ;-). It was lovely, thank you from the bottom of my heart, we'll definitely be back :-)

Here, you'll experience cuisine of a sophisticated standard. The menu is simply perfect, with diverse flavors that harmonize so incredibly well. For me, this is one of the best Michelin-starred restaurants I've ever eaten in. A wonderful ambiance, attentive and friendly service. I wouldn't be surprised if Wonka is working toward his second star. It would certainly be well-deserved.

Fantastic, attentive service and a very quiet, beautiful outdoor area. Excellent presentation of the dishes. My first time dining with Michelin-starred cuisine, a very informal and relaxed atmosphere, truly pleasant. The food is excellent, and the non-alcoholic wine pairing is also excellent. The vegan menu is highly recommended.

Delicious food in a modern (though quite German) environment. We had a set Menue of 4 dishes, small portions, therefore I would not recommend taking only 3 courses, you might leave quite hungry. The mixture of tastes was decent but also delicious- not overdoing it (I had once the impression in a 2 star restaurant in Munich that the chef had taken everything available in the kitchen and put it together- was not good). Sorry, back to Wonka - the weakest part of the menue was the dessert - strawberry swimming in some sake sauce with mint that left me wanting some chocolate to forget. The waitress spoke very very quiet, so that sometimes it was difficult to understand what dish she was bringing . Good wine selection. Overall happy with the experience

First-class food, beautifully presented and presented with great attention to detail. The staff was friendly and accommodating at all times. A particularly pleasant touch was Mr. Wonka personally coming to our tables to check that everything was to our satisfaction. The beautiful ambiance perfectly rounded off the experience. Here we cook with the utmost precision and creativity - the combination of regional ingredients and Asian influences ensures an incomparable taste experience. Every course is perfectly coordinated, from the sophisticated starters to the artfully presented desserts. The balance between intense flavors and the finest elegance is particularly impressive – a culinary masterpiece! The attentive and warm service also contributes to the outstanding experience. The atmosphere is stylish but not stuffy – just the right ambience to enjoy a special evening. The only small downer: Even the water is charged. That's a shame in a restaurant of this class. Nevertheless, Wonka remains an absolute must for foodies and more than deserves its star! We'll definitely be back.

An absolute culinary highlight! The food was outstanding - every single creation was perfectly coordinated down to the smallest detail and was a pleasure for all the senses. The service was equally impressive: attentive, friendly and professional without being intrusive. This Michelin star is more than deserved and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

We came to Nuremberg from Munich for a weekend and took the opportunity to eat at Wonka. The menu (5 courses) was, as expected, very good, with small drawbacks. The cod with pumpkin was too neutral for us, the duck breast could have used a few roasted flavors. The miso butter, the venison and the dessert with carrots and cardamon ice cream were absolutely outstanding. The wine and non-alcoholic accompaniment was harmonious, as was the service. Overall, a successful evening with great food and drink. Given the prices for the menu and accompaniment, you have to give it 5*; in Munich you can't get a menu of this quality for less than 180.00.

Food was good but nothing special for a star restaurant

We were guests there yesterday and enjoyed the 6 course menu. There's only one thing you can say: perfect. The wine advice was great and every single course was a pleasure. Mr. Wonka and his team manage to combine the familiar with new flavors and thus trigger a new taste experience. The presentation shows the love for the products. The menu is self-contained thanks to the little "swines" (quote Tim Raue) and a nice transition to the individual courses is offered. The wine advice from Mrs. Wonka was also great and the selection was a hit. The service and the overall "calmness" even though the restaurant was fully booked couldn't be beat. At the end of the evening there was a feeling of pleasant satisfaction. We will definitely come back to try a new menu. January is already planned :-). Thank you dear WONKA team! It was a lovely wedding day for us. We refrained from taking photos because, to be honest, it sometimes annoys me that everyone takes pictures of what they eat beforehand. We've gotten out of the habit.

Had a wonderful time. With the 6 courses offer plus wines we were really full which we would never expect to happen. We had meat and vegan menus and both were standing up to the promise of an exceptional experience.

Had a great time at Wonka. They recently got their first Michelin Star, deservedly so, and I'm certainly hoping they keep their winning concept intact. The menu and food was of fantastic quality and really offensively priced; amazing value for money and the dishes throughout were creative, executed with meticulous standard, and overall quite tasty. Quite diverse flavors and flavor combinations that I really enjoyed with a noticeable yet not exaggerated Japanese influence. Wine pairings were great, I particularly enjoyed the Sake pairing for the white asparagus dish. The service was professional and attentive, though sometimes a little too "fränkisch". Anyway, we had a great evening which is evidenced by me mostly forgetting to take pictures.

Great find in Nuremberg - a short walk from the city centre. Had a very pleasant 6 course meal with wine flight - German food with an Asian twist. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Very pleasant atmosphere inside. There is a small covered courtyard. The service was very accommodating. We had the 5 course menu, once the vegan version and the other with meat. It started with a greeting from the kitchen. Little three things, then there was a really delicious bread with a spread. My 2 highlights were the jackfruit fried in rice paper on cherry sauce with sweet potato puree with chanterelles, small pickled cherries and red cooked onions.. and the dessert a tart with yuzu cream with pineapple ice cream on a crumble with a meringue chip on top. Mega!!! We were totally thrilled 🤩 the visit is something special!

second time I was invited to have dinner here. I don't know the prices so I can't compare base on price. Compare to other top restaurants i tried here all dishes were good. all fresh, well prepared , timming, temperature and taste are all 5 stars. Staff very professional.

An excellent restaurant! All dishes were of excellent quality and tasted excellent. The whole menu including the corresponding wines was great. The service was very attentive, always friendly and accommodating. Particularly noteworthy: Nowadays, offering an excellent 6-course menu with wine pairings in a Michelin-starred restaurant for under €200 on the weekend is actually unbelievable. Highly Recommended!

All in all it was a wonderful evening! The atmosphere and the food were really something special and the service was very attentive and charming! We'd love to come back!

A beautifully decorated restaurant. I really like the interior and ambience. The service is top. The food was perfectly prepared. The waiting time between the main course and dessert was 57 minutes. I didn't look at the clock but took photos of every plate;) I found it very long and compared to other fine dining restaurants some courses could be 10-20% larger. Oh yes, there was an onsen egg with truffle on the online menu not this walk.

This was our second time at Wonka. The first time was my marriage proposal and the second time, it was the first wedding anniversary :) For the second time, Mr. Wonka has cooked a menu for both of us multi-allergy sufferers :) Therefore, my absolute recommendation for various allergies!!! It works great on request and the service is also very good and discreet when it comes to "special treatment" :) I felt very comfortable on both visits! There is a small deduction in the ambience because we unfortunately had the "cat table" twice. Every time there is a draft at the door... but that really doesn't detract from the food! Especially because the kitchen knife manages to conjure up a 7-course meal for me as a multi-allergy sufferer :) Gladly again and again!

The food, the respective wines, the service, everything was excellent! The ambience and the appropriate, subtle background music allow you to enjoy everything. It is a little more expensive, but the price/performance ratio is right, especially since the increased VAT has not been reflected. A restaurant that is still highly recommended!

Wir hatten einen tolles Erlebnis im Wonka. Herausragender Service, kreatives und super aromatisches Essen und ein liebevoll gestaltetes Ambiente. Wir waren über 3 Stunden mit dem Menü und den diversen Grüßen aus der Küche beschäftigt und waren keine Sekunde gelangweilt. Jeder Gang hatte etwas, dass ich so noch nie hatte. Erwähnenswert ist auch, dass ein veganes Menü angeboten wird, das auch für Nicht-Veganer keinen Wunsch offen lässt, weil man nie das Gefühl hat, dass etwas "fehlt". Die Preise sind hoch, aber meiner Meinung nach fair im Vergleich zu anderen Fine Dining Restaurants. Für besondere Anlässe definitiv empfehlenswert, wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder :)

Was Christian Wonka und seine Frau nebst Mitarbeiter hier leisten ist schon außergewöhnlich. Vom hervorragenden Brot mit exzellenten leicht scharfen Butteraufstrich bis zur Kaffeebeigabe... Kirsch -Himbeer-Geleeschnitte. Schaut euch die Bilder an ...die sagen mehr als all die vielen Worte....Beim Preis-Leistungsverhältnis kann man auch nicht meckern.... Bin Immer noch geflasht. Vielen Dank Familie Wonka für diese außergewöhnliche gastronomische Leistung. Chapeau 👍.

Sind hier regelmäßig, immer wieder super

Einen tollen Abend durften wir im Wonka genießen. Das Team kümmert sich wunderbar um das Wohlergehen und hat den ganzen Abend immer ein aufmerksames Auge auf alles gehabt. Die Speisen sind wunderbar angerichtet und haben einen asiatischen Touch. Mit Rafinesse werden so besondere Geschmäcker geschaffen. Wir waren von jedem Gang aufs Neue überrascht und der Abend, immerhin gut 4 Stunden vergingen wie im Flug. Im Aussennbereich sitzt man gemütlich bei einer schönen Stimmung aus Licht, Hortensien und Blick in den ebenfalls schönen Wintergarten des Restaurants. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und werden bestimmt wieder kommen. Bis dahin möchten wir uns bei dem Team des Restaurants Wonka für den gelungenen Abend herzlich bedanken.

Tolle kulinarische Erlebnisse mit neuen Geschmäckern. Ein großer Unterschied zu anderen Lokalen ist, dass beispielsweise wenig bis kein Pfeffer oder andere dominante Gewürze benutzt werden, der Geschmack der Komponenten steht im Vordergrund. Service sehr nett und zuvorkommend, Preis-Leistung für das gebotene Niveau wunderbar!

Sehr schönes Ambiente, aufmerksamer Service und wahnsinnig leckeres Essen. Ausgewählt werden kann zwischen 5 oder 6 Gängen, das Menü ist für einen Abend jedoch festgelegt. Auch eine Weinbegleitung ist möglich. Insgesamt absolut zu empfehlen für einen besonderen Abend.

Das Wonka ist eine feste Bank für entspannte Abende in netter Atmosphäre, die Inhaber Wonka tragen dazu wesentlich bei. Die Küche nimmt Anleihen aus Asien, immer gut ausgeführt und interessant. Damit hat sie ein eigenständiges Profil in Nürnberg. Ich komme gerne wieder.

Eine Bewertung hier ist nicht einfach. Das Restaurant ist nett eingerichtet und die Bedienung war ganz einfach super. Über die Weinbegleitung lässt sich streiten. Das ist Geschmacksache. Sehr gut war die alkoholfreie Begleitung. Sehr abwechslungsreich und überraschend gut. Vom Essen waren wir ein bisschen enttäuscht. Nicht das es nicht geschmeckt hätte, aber die Portionen waren schon sehr (sehr) klein. Es war das erste Mal das ich nach dem Besuch eines vergleichbaren Restaurants zu Hause noch einmal den Kühlschrank aufgemacht habe.
