Had a great evening in the restaurant, had to share a table with another couple as we didn't have a reservation, but that wasn't a problem. The menu was presented to us verbally by waiter as the ingredients and extras change frequently. The food was incredibly tasty, the vegetarian goulash was nicely seasoned, the dumplings were nice and fluffy, just like the bread. After I scraped the plate empty with the remaining bread, I had a second helping on the house. Great evening, great restaurant!

Something very special. Quaint atmosphere, fantastic food and great service. Just a great experience there. Vegetarian and vegan goulash options are available and very tasty. Price-performance is unbeatable.

Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we waited 2.5 hours for our food! There was a birthday party in the next room, they got their food at 9 p.m. with the information that there wouldn't be enough for everyone. Some guests then left

Excellent Gulasch, but quite long waiting time for food and drinks

The goulash variants are all really well prepared. Went there with several people and tried different variants. The bread served with it is top notch.

Gregor Samsa is a fictional character by Franz Kafka. But the goulash in this rustic pub is very, very real and has recently become world champion. Marcel Hoyer and his team won the Hungarian World Cup 2024! And the diverse variations that are served fresh are just as delicious, together with fried bread dumplings and fragrant baked bread from the neighborhood bakery Albert. The service is adorably different and endearing and the beer is drinkable. Just beautiful!

Very lovely, family-owned restaurant. The food was delicious, our servers were quite friendly, and it had a cozy and homely atmosphere. It felt like visiting a family friend to have dinner. Would recommend 🍛 Only thing I could suggest would be changing the outdated prices on their online menu. Currently the prices of the goulash are much higher at the restaurant than what`s written on their website, and for that reason, we were caught off guard.

Very tasty and absolutely filling food. The atmosphere is totally relaxed and warm, with a lot of humor. I was there again after a break of around 35 years due to moving. And the charm is still intact! Cool pictures, unusual music selection. Absolutely recommended. P.S.: thanks for the great “surprise salad”

Nettes Restaurant, exzellentes Gulasch und gute Rumauswahl. Personal und Besitzer sind sympathisch. Urige Atmosphäre. Beim nächsten mal Nürnberg auf jeden Fall ein muss!

Unfassbar schöner und geschmackvoller Gasthof mit tollem Ambiente! Der Inhaber ist sehr freundlich und wir konnten uns wirklich gut mit ihm unterhalten. Aber wirklich in Erinnerung ist uns das Gulasch geblieben. Wirklich. Wer das noch nicht gegessen hat, der verpasst etwas :)

E' stata une delle peggiori indicazioni presi su Tripadvisor. Il ristorante ha preso la nostra prenotazione per 4 persone senza avvisarci che il giorno dopo chiudeva per la vacanze e aveva un solo tipo di goulash, quello vegano! Non saprei francamente perchè lo chiamano "goulash", non mi sembra nemmeno lontanamente simile. Si trattava di un piatto confuso nei sapori (tutto insieme, melanzane, funghi, pomodoro, carote, cipolle) con abbondante cipolla cruda sopra. Insomma la nostra esperienza è stata negativa - brutto luogo lontano dalla città con pessimo cibo e management scorretto. Vi consiglio vivamente evitare questo ristorante, a piedi in centro troverete un sacco di posti belli con buona cucina.

Probably the best goulash I've ever tasted. So anyone who thought that goulash was just simple home cooking will be proven wrong here! There is also draft beer and good schnapps. Managing director Marcel, who is also the chef at Gregor Samsas, doesn't shy away from having a hearty conversation with his guests. His waitress Maria impresses with her very friendly and warm manner. Her love of music from past decades, which she is fortunately able to make available to her guests inside the restaurant, rounds off the visit to Gregor Samsa. And don't worry, the music inside means you don't have to shout at each other to be understood! For me, the music could have been a little louder! I'm already looking forward to the next visit!

The goulash with mushrooms tasted very tasty and was a large portion. It's a bit of a shame that there was no menu, but the service was very nice. Regarding the ambience: It's getting a bit old outside, so there's definitely room for improvement. Still highly recommended if you feel like goulash!

An amazing, pleasant atmosphere with really great service. The decor is unique and perfect for a cozy, quiet evening. The service is friendly, welcoming and open with customers. (Gregor Samsa can also be seen) Really only recommended, there is also delicious food for vegetarians and vegans.

The food was super tasty and filling. Dumplings were nice, goulash perfectly soft meat and delicious in taste, the sheep's cheese went great with it :) The atmosphere was very cool and the innkeeper looks like an icon! Gladly again and again!

I walked into Gregor Samsa on a late wednesday evening towards closing time. Due to the utmost kindness and excellent hospitality of the hosts, they started cooking me a wonderful meal despite the kitchen being closed. The staff are really wonderful people. The same goes for the bavarian food, which is accompanied by fantastic Czech beer served in a stylish, warm and authentic setting that you want to sit in all evening. I will definitely be back next time I visit Nurnberg

It's not an evening like any other...it's more of a wild ride through Franz Kafka's novella. If you can just let it happen, then you've come to the right place. Otherwise leave it 😅 Good food, reservations with crazy conversations that also take place during your stay. I'll come back as soon as I'm ready 👍

We were really very excited! There is no menu, but the innkeeper sat down at the table with us and explained to us what we had to eat and what possible combinations we had. We had a vegetarian and a vegan with us - there was also a goulash dish for both of them, which they were very happy with. The entrance is a bit difficult to find - you have to go through an arch and at first you think there are just a few residential buildings.

Mein Freund und ich waren nach längerer Abstinenz mal wieder im Gregor essen. Das Gulasch war wie immer super lecker. Ich liebe den Feta im Hirtengulasch einfach! Wenn der Biergarten geöffnet ist kommen wir gerne wieder öfter. Macht weiter so :-)

We went there for a dinner on father's day and it was amazing. A quiet place with outside table really cosy. We started with some drinks and I have to give a special thanks to the waiter. I was sick as hell and he saw it and immediately propose to make a special grog to help me. He explains us how the gulash is home made with local raw material and the taste was so good. Really tender meat with nice seasonning and spices served with fluffy and classic breads. It's a 10 Once more thank you for the attention you have shown

Quirky, charming restaurant with great goulash dishes and not-so-great Tucher beers. Unfortunately, reserving a table doesn't work as well as paying by card. Parking situation very difficult.

In contrast to before, the food has decreased significantly, smaller portions and significantly higher prices. After a long wait, we still have some lukewarm food. The staff was unfriendly. It's a shame we used to really enjoy going to Gregor Samsa, we won't be going there any time soon.

What a great store and owner! When we arrived at 22:30, the kitchen was closed, so the owner introduced us to other recommended restaurants. (They were so kind as to call me and introduce me😭) However, the store was closed. . . When I was having trouble, she said, ``I can't decorate, but is that okay?'' and served me food! I'll post it as a thank you! I was happy to have a warm meal☺️ The atmosphere of the shop is very local and has a nice atmosphere. There was also a dog🐶 This is why I can't stop traveling. No price list available. Food prices are more expensive than on the menu online. For a goulash with peppers, cucumbers and sheep's cheese, just under €20 is pretty expensive. But it was good for that. If it hadn't been ordered we would have known this. I also came for rum. Up to 50 types of rum are advertised on the website, but there is no menu or prices anywhere, so it's a bit uncertain what you'll pay here too. The waitresses couldn't give any prices and referred to the boss who was probably in the kitchen. Then we just ordered one on suspicion. But rum was absolutely okay in terms of price.

Durch Zufall haben wir bei unserem Besuch in Nürnberg dieses Lokal entdeckt. Es gibt im Eingangsbereich nur eine Tafel, welches Basisgulasch serviert wird. Unsere nette Bedienung erläuterte uns die verschiedenen Möglichkeiten, das Gulasch serviert zu bekommen. Wir entschieden uns für die Variante mit Pilzen und sauren Gurken. Eine riesige Portion wurde uns serviert und es gab noch Würstchen, böhmische Klöße und Salzkrustenbrot dazu. Einfach köstlich und viel zu viel. (mein Mann kocht ein himmlisches Gulasch, aber dieses war auf gleicher Höhe und das ist bemerkenswert). Mit einer Flasche Wein Weißburgunder , zwei zusätzlichen Gläsern und vier Verteilern kamen wir auf 83 €. Unglaublich aus Sicht eines Kölners. Wenn wir wieder in Nürnberg sind, dann werden wir in jedem Fall wieder einkehren. Danke für die tolle Erfahrung!!!!

As always, the food was very good, both the vegetarian version and with meat. Many thanks to the attentive and friendly waitress Maria. The restaurant is more of a pub with food on offer, not a fancy restaurant - unfortunately you can't find it that often nearby, so it's a clear recommendation.

Location incredibly loud, very cramped, outrageous prices - goulash was good, but with all the negative points, no reason to visit the location again... Drink prices beyond good and bad - the owner doesn't seem very likeable, even a little arrogant at times and seems to be over his guests to judge… it’s a shame!

In advance: reserve. We were there on a weekday evening, full. We just got two seats at the bar. Then: bring your time. Every meal is (presumably) freshly prepared. Which led to a waiting time of 1.5 hours for us. Ambience: rustic. The website says "since 1970" and I think that also applies to the building. Very rustic, simple and not really big. Heated by a wood stove (?) which makes it really hot right at the front. And of course the most important thing: goulash. Unique. The wait was worth it. Such tender meat, the sauce is nice and thick, the sausages inside are unique. Will definitely go again. What would be nice: some kind of overview of what goes into which goulash. You can ask, but you won't remember it.

Very cold in our corner, super warm in the other room. Around 5 degrees in the toilet. The selection was very limited, it took 30 minutes until we could order something to eat and another 30 minutes until it came. However, the food was really tasty and the bread was amazing. Service very friendly and attentive. I can only recommend the apple and plum spritzer.

The service was very unfriendly (young girl) wanted to give the wrong money back and was very direct and decisive. Local not so clean 🧼... Cobwebs are standard. Bread very salty Portion for 19.50 too small, very little meat 🥩 The taste is very good.

Hidden and inconspicuous in the residential area is a special little restaurant that specializes in goulash. There is pretty much every variation there, from Budapester to vegan goulash, and bread and Bohemian dumplings are also served as a delicious side dish. If you absolutely don't like goulash, there are various bread variations and salads. The experience is rounded off with local draft beer. Definitely recommended, the goulash was delicious and had a lot of meat in it. The side dishes are absolutely top notch.

A really quaint and original pub from days long gone. There is no menu, a rough price range is written on the wall. The host decides what you can eat according to your preferences. Absolute recommendation for anyone who likes to be insulted by the landlord. Be sure to make a reservation, then you have the chance of being squeezed into another table where many others are already sitting. If you ask politely enough, you might even get the same answer as me: "You can have a large table with a minimum turnover of 150 euros." The landlord's suggestion was: "I'll invite you to the water and you go". I was happy to do that. Let's see how long this concept works.

Finding this place was a very nice surprise. It's a small and crowded restaurant which only serves goulash. Every night they have a regular one and a couple of different variations. It's also a very laid-back place, so don't expect any formalities or them to rush your orders. They take their time wile you relax and chat with a drink. They are also very welcoming with children. They prepared a small plate of goulash for my small son and brought it before the rest so he could eat without waiting. And also moved us to another table (moving other customers) were he was more confortable.

Super laden komme gerne hier her, wer kein Humor hat sollte, lieber daheim kochen. Der Chef ist super lustig und macht coole Witze. Finde seine Art toll. Das essen ist Hammer lecker. Wer geht ins Restaurant und bestell sich nur Leitungswasser und erwartet 5 gerne, wenn man nix isst. Überzeugt euch doch selber. Macht weiter so Chef.

Wir hatten einen tollen Abend im Gregor Samsa in Nürnberg! Es gab verschiedene Gulasch-Variationen sowohl mit Fleisch als auch vegetarisch & vegan - da war für jeden was dabei! Auch die Beilagen zum Gulasch waren super. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und auch immer mal wieder für ein kurzes Gespräch und ein paar persönliche Anekdoten zu haben. Abgerundet wurde der Abend von guter Musik und leckerem Bier - von meiner Seite aus auf jeden Fall eine klare Empfehlung!

Ein Freund hat seinen Geburtstag dort gefeiert. Das Gulasch war scharf aber sehr gut und auch die Stimmung wurde zu späterer Stimmung immer besser! Komme gerne wieder.
