We spent a wonderful afternoon at the Wolterhof with a large group of people aged 2 to 79. The cake and waffles were delicious. We received a warm welcome and were served with great friendliness and personal attention. The interior is very tastefully decorated – a lovely place to relax.

I can recommend the Wolterhof; the staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the food.

The organization both beforehand and on the day itself was absolutely smooth and professional. A big thank you also to the two waiters, who contributed to making all our guests feel at home with their friendliness, attentiveness, and calmness. We would especially like to highlight the manager: an incredibly pleasant, courteous, and very warm woman who accompanied and supported us throughout the day. We are more than satisfied and highly recommend the Wolterhof not only for celebrations like weddings, but also for a delicious lunch or a slice of cake. Everything is just perfect here – from the atmosphere to the service to the hospitality. Many thanks to the entire team, you made our day unforgettable! ❤️

Beautiful restaurant with a large outdoor area. Reasonable prices. Super friendly service. The waffles are recommended because they're large and delicious. Without a doubt, always a worthwhile stop! Warning: This is precisely why it tends to get crowded.

And I can't recommend this place enough. The cake is the best I've ever eaten. We've been getting and eating this cake for years, and it's always a treat.

It's nice to sit outside or inside. Pleasant atmosphere. 👍 The food, as well as coffee and cake, are good and delicious 👍 Slices of cake are served lying down (ask for them, because otherwise they often fall over). You have to choose them in the shop first (but they don't provide a slip of paper) and then take a seat and order one from the waiter. One cake and coffee for under 10 euros - but be careful: card payments only start at 10 euros (there's a Sparkasse nearby). I find the service (highly) suboptimal and detracts from the overall impression. By the way, they never asked whether you enjoyed the food.

Great restaurant and farm shop with grass-fed beef from their own farm!

Unfortunately, my recent experience hasn't been good. I submitted a complaint and sent two emails. No response! That's a shame. I won't be buying anything from them for the time being.

The cappuccino was fantastic. I've never had such good milk foam in my life! And I usually only drink coffee black. High praise! The strawberry cake was also delicious.

We were there on January 19, 2025, Sunday afternoon. It was bitterly cold outside, cozy, homey restaurant. Outside the yard was very chaotic and not maintained. The cake was OK except for the covered apple pie. This was completely soaked with 0.5cm of sugar icing on top. The three of us tried it and it really wasn't tasty. Unfortunately, references to this were wiped away by the boss... It's a shame, maybe they were overwhelmed that day. There was no more cream.

Good home-style food. For brunch there was very tasty bread and rolls. And very tasty cake. Unfortunately the farm shop was closed. It was also Sunday. Lots of people who bought cakes to take away. In summer with a beer garden. You can definitely sit outside after a bike ride.

Better chip shop eating. It's a shame, the restaurant has potential and great service. I don't agree with some of the negative reviews. Very attentive but not annoying service, delicious cake and coffee. Charming service and, above all, clean sanitary facilities.

Schade. Im letzten Jahr waren wir auch zum Hochzeitstag dort. Alles war super klasse. Heute, am 29.10.24, Bedienung super lieb und aufmerksam. Die Gerichte vom Vorjahr! Rumpsteak mit Zwiebeln, durchgebraten und fest. Schweinemedaillons in Pfefferrahm mit Speck ummantelt wurden vor den braten flach geklopft und waren darum zäh. Salat zu süss, Geschmackssache. Schade. Wahrscheinlich war der Koch vom letzten Jahr schon wieder weg.

Der Wolterhof hat extrem nachgelassen, das Frühstück nach einer Beerdigung war eine Katastrophe, noch nie so schlecht gefrühstückt!

It's always nice to have the boss there. He always covers the table outside with a tablecloth. That alone is much more comfortable than if no one comes there. The dishes and drinks are worth the money and it's not that expensive. The waitresses are very friendly and it sometimes takes longer than expected, which is justified as coffee and cake are usually quick, but a waffle has to be baked first. There was a problem recently so that I could get a decent one last time New ones made because the first one was torn in the middle. It can happen because it's all done by hand.

We went to the Wolterhof last Friday for coffee after my husband's funeral. The tables were set so lovingly, the staff were friendly and quick. The "coffee drink" we ordered turned out to be almost a three-course meal, a very tasty soup, sandwiches and rolls, scrambled eggs and later cake. The coffee was widely praised and everyone was more than full. Plus the excellent service, even though the restaurant was full. I only have one tiny point of criticism, but that's just my personal opinion. I would have liked a small cucumber and a slice of tomato with the cutlet plate. 😉 But it doesn't change the full number of points. And all the guests were thrilled too. I already knew the food from our company Christmas party and it was simply great this time too. We will come back for dinner sometime!

Beautiful place to relax. Very good and high quality cuisine. A little expensive but it's worth it. The staff is particularly friendly and guarantees you a good time. You can sit wonderfully outside or very comfortably inside. You can rent the traditional “Grandma House” for celebrations. Particularly impressive for guests from abroad.

We've been there a few times and were happy with everything. We were there yesterday and had the spinach gnocchi and the salmon salad. The gnocchi was great, but the salad was just the side salad in a large version with a bit of salmon. It turns out that the restaurant is going on vacation soon and that's why they don't have everything ea anymore. And charging €20 for it is really a bad impression.

Very nice service. Our waitress responded to all the special requests from our table (with 8 people). The salad dressing and the honey-ginger slices were tasty, but a little too sweet and the meat cooked a little too long. We look forward to our next visit to Gelsenkirchen.

Cake is good, service is subpar. If you want a certain piece of the pie you will be squeezed and reprimanded. They have to take what we give them. I then refrained from buying in the store.

We had ordered a table for 3 people. We actually wanted to eat warm. But the kitchen closed at 5 p.m. What I think is a good restaurant, very bad. We could only eat coffee ☕️ and cake 🎂. So it was closed at 6 p.m. It's actually very strange. This wasn't the case 3 years ago. Probably a lack of staff. You hear that everywhere. But the cake 🎂 was very tasty 😋. It was raspberry sour cream cake and mandarin sour cream cake.

Prices are outrageous for the portion size and quality of the dishes served. The service is like this. Cake tastes good, here the pieces are getting smaller and smaller and are extremely expensive compared to other good cafes in Gelsenkirchen. For me, the Wolterhof is now anything but recommended.

Cozy atmosphere and friendly service.

I felt very comfortable, I ordered the Holsteiner Schnitzel which was very small. I also told the waitress. The answer I got was that they were all the same weight. On the other plate it looked different. To me There is nothing worse than leaving the restaurant hungry.

A place to feel good and to linger. The price is a bit high, but the quality is in the top league. I always enjoy coming here.

We didn't eat there but took cake with us, it was very tasty, I can recommend it.

The prices for simple cakes have increased so much that I am refraining from further visits.
