We were greeted warmly and with good humor. Our orders were taken promptly. The food was delicious. I had the farmer's schnitzel, and my companion had the mushroom cream schnitzel. I haven't had such a tender schnitzel in a long time. The service was impeccable. Excellent value for money. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

A great restaurant in our area. Everything is just right here! Very good food and a wide-ranging menu will delight your palate. Top-notch service! Super friendly staff and excellent quality food. The legendary schnitzel days are highly recommended. There's plenty of parking across the street on the market square. The value for money is absolutely fine, and if you don't get your fill here, it's your own fault.

There were five of us there, and one of us is a vegetarian. Her wishes were fully accommodated. Everyone enjoyed the food, and it was a lovely evening.

One of, if not the, best restaurants in Gelsenkirchen. It's always pleasant and familiar. I've been here many times, and although it was always really good in the past, it's even better since the new chef arrived. I had a 180g rump steak with herb butter and fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were delicious, but the rump steak almost took my breath away. Mine had a proper crust for the first time, and a pepper crust at that. Of course, that's not easy to achieve, and getting it right might be even more difficult. The owner and waiter were also very friendly; I'd be happy to come back!

The food is delicious and the portions are generous. The prices are fair; some chip shops are more expensive. The owner and his wife are always friendly and very fond of animals. We were there with two dogs, but we asked in advance, and they were both given water and treats. The service is simply excellent. We will be happy to eat there again in the future.

Friendliness still needs to be worked on

Six of us went there last Saturday, and it was absolutely delicious. The steak, schnitzel, fries, and sauces were amazing. Without exaggerating, it was the best meal we've had in the last six months. It was our first time there, and we'll definitely be back. Whether it's just the two of us or a group again.

What immediately stood out after ordering many times through Lieferando and the snack bars and restaurants listed there: The difference: Here at Restaurant Forster, you can tell they focus on quality. The food tastes fresh and is truly homemade. The sauce, like the schnitzel, was very tasty. The portion was very generous. My mother had the turkey steak and was also satisfied. Everything very satisfactory! I had a grill plate, it was very good, I was just missing some freshly made djuvec rice with the fries. Otherwise everything was perfect, the meat was grilled to perfection and seasoned well. The service was very nice and friendly. I assume it was the boss himself, if that was the case he was also very nice. Highly recommended.

Home-style cooking, we all had different schnitzels, very tasty.

Went there spontaneously for dinner today. We got a table without a reservation. The service was very friendly and always had a nice saying. The food was excellent and plentiful. Always happy. Highly recommended. 😊👌

Today I had the 250g rump steak with herb butter, fries, mayonaise and salad from the salad bar. The fries were delicately seasoned and the steak was very juicy and tender. The waitress is very friendly and likes to joke. There are clean toilets in the basement. Therefore 5 stars from me. Highly recommended and certainly worth a repeat visit.

A restaurant that you don't get to experience very often in the catering industry these days. The good quality schitzel (veal schnitzel?) are delicious and tasty. You can put together your own salad at the small salad bar. The service is courteous but not intrusive. There is a pleasant atmosphere in the rooms and all processes are calm and relaxing. Short conclusion: "Highly recommended!!!"

Very tasty food, the champions of the starter were mega, the schnitzel hmmm, the tagliatelle with spinach, yes, a Ruhrpott Original as a waiter and the day was saved. They ensure that you immediately feel at home and make every visit an experience. Only the ambience could use a little modernization. It seems a bit old-fashioned, but that doesn't detract from the charm and coziness of the place. After all, the main reason you come here is the food and the hospitality. So if you're looking for a culinary journey through the Ruhr area, you definitely shouldn't miss the Forster restaurant. There is hardly a better place to experience excellent schnitzels and genuine hospitality.

This small town is located in the small Resser Mark. Pearl for the palate. From frequent visits, I can say that all the dishes are delicious and tasty across the board! The service is very friendly and always tries to do everything to the guests' satisfaction. The restaurant is about to be modernized. Good bourgeois cuisine, we took the asparagus offer and I have to say that it was the best asparagus I ate in the restaurant, one point is deducted because the hollandaise was a finished product, but delicious.

On Thursday we went to Restaurant Forster for the first time on the recommendation of friends. I really have to say that our friend's positive comments were even exceeded during our visit. The restaurant makes a very neat and tidy impression. The food was excellent, the price/performance ratio for this meal was remarkable and the boss literally works his butt off and is very even-tempered and funny. We will definitely be eating at Forster more often now, not just on the schnitzel days.

A first-class meal, wishes are catered for and the lovely but sometimes cheeky waiter and owner are convinced of themselves and the restaurant! It is very clean, sanitary facilities are also OK! The only disadvantage is the toilet in the basement, not so handicapped friendly. There is also a bowling alley right next to it, which you can use inexpensively. All in all, I have to threaten the landlord, we'll come back more often now ;-) and I'd like to thank you again for serving such delicious and high-quality food!

Wir waren an einem Mittwoch Mittag zu dritt zur „Schnitzelparade“ da. Wir hatten Brokkoli- bzw. Blumenkohl-Schnitzel. Der Preis war super mit 15 Euro pro Schnitzel-Gericht mit Pommes, Kroketten oder Bratkartoffeln. Es war alles sehr lecker und von der Größe der Portionen wird wirklich jeder satt. Besonders hervorzuhaben ist der ausgesprochen freundliche Service. Also: Eine Empfehlung für gutbürgerliches Essen.

Entweder hab ich schlechten Tag erwischt oder alle die da essen gehen können nicht kochen. Fertige Soße,die wie Gelee auf dem Schnitzel stand und schon eine Haut oben hatte . Ein paar Champignons ohne Geschmack oben drauf geworfen. Mit Tetrapack-Hollandaise .Bratkartoffeln lappig mit säuerlichem Geschmack . Das andere Schnitzel gleiche komische Fertigsosse und paar Pfefferkörner reingerührt ... gleiche Konsistenz. Das geht irgendwie gar nicht. Schlechteste Kroketten ever. Da gibt's selbst gekaufte von besserer Qualität . Sorry da hab ich bei den vorherigen Bewertungen viel besseres erwartet und hatte mich drauf gefreut...leider umsonst. Gastwirt war nett.

Forster ist ein gutes Lokal wo man hingehen kann, es ist sehr lecker, und das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend es fehlte uns nichts! Ist zu empfehlen.

Wir waren soweit zufrieden. Essen war lecker, Bein anrichten ist noch Luft nach oben! Allerdings erwarte ich es hier auch nicht anders. Da die Teller relativ klein sind hat der Koch auch wenig Möglichkeiten vernünftig anzurichten. Service war aufmerksam und auch mal ein Spruch,was alles auflockerte. Wir werden mit Sicherheit wieder kommen. Allerdings lässt die Deko etwas zu wünschen übrig .... Kunstblumen in der Art sind eher 80er. Ein paar frische Blumen oder Topfblümchen für 99 Cent wären bestimmt ansprechender. Die Scheibengardinen passen überhaupt nicht, wor allem zur Wandfarbe! Toll fand ich die kleine Terasse aus Holz. Aber ich bin froh das es so ein Lokal noch gibt. Preise sind nicht billig aber fair. Einzig beim Wein ist der Preis schon sehr hoch. Da ich aber nicht weiß wie der EK ist möchte ich nicht sagen zu hoch! Dessert haben wir nicht genommen muss aber sagen, das ich die Preise für die Eisbecher sehr hoch fand und nach dem Essen brauche ich nicht auch noch einen riesigen Eisbecher. Wir hatten nach dem Essen noch einen Cappuccino mein Mann fand ihn gut, mir war er zu dünn. Allerdings mag ich auch am liebsten starken der noch richtig nach Kaffee schmeckt. Barrista Cappuccino halt vom Italiener.

Wir waren 2 mal dort und das Essen ist lecker. Der Service ist einmalig. :)
