Dorfkrug in Gelsenkirchen

Wonderful gasthaus. Really has a traditional feel to it. Our table had the large salad with tuna, the schnitzel wiener art, the schnitzel cordon blue and the schweinshaxe. Everything was perfect. The schweinshaxe was absolutely something else — we’re going back just for this. Atmosphere was cozy and traditional. Service was slower than I expected and prefer especially considering how early we arrived and the fact that it wasn’t busy, but it didn’t tarnish the experience. Would absolutely 100% recommend this place. Like I said, we’re going back.

Excellent. Fantastic food. Brilliant service... The waiter heard a fork fall on the floor and arrived seconds later with a fresh one! Awesome Pork knuckle, duck, and shnitzels!

If you are looking for a restaurant with typical dishes. This is the place where you can find them. Plus they are very good. The atmosphere is friendly and warm. The decoration takes us back a few years with pleasure. The waiter didn't speak French, but English very well so we were able to get by.

The good impression about the delicious food was overshadowed by the fact that on a Saturday evening (!) the last round was served very stubbornly at 10.30 p.m.

When you walk in, the atmosphere is so charming that you feel like you're in a 19th century German tavern. Deliciously prepared food and good service.

Were there for the first time, we waited a while for the food and then there were greetings from the chef in the schnitzel breading, and no compensation at this point. It's a shame that we would have definitely come back despite the hair, but you can still eat good home-style food somewhere else.

Bij binnenkomst was de serveerster zeer druk met enige andere klanten, vooral over hun tatoeages. Ik ben maar ergens vlakbij gaan zitten en afgewacht tot ze tijd had. Nadat ik het menu had gekregen ben ik na bestudering voor de schnitzel "Dorfkrug" (paniertes Schweineschnitzel mit gebratenem Speck und Spiegelei an Bratkartoffeln mit Speckwürfeln, Zwiebel) gegaan. Het geheel was wat droog, de spekjes ver te zoeken. Verder maken ze reclame dat men 7 bieren op de tap hebben, helaas is geen daarvan van een lokale brouwerij.

It is a quaint restaurant with outdoor seating. The service is courteous, friendly and very polite. Unfortunately there were a few difficulties with the reservation. When we arrived, 8 places had to be created for us. By reservation I mean something different. Despite everything, the food was delicious. I had imagined something different when I said “giant currywurst” because the currywurst was quite normal in size. The sauce was very tasty and the salad was beautifully presented, very fresh and tasty. Everyone else had different types of schnitzel and they were also delicious.

This was a brilliant find. A traditional German dining experience, with really helpful and friendly staff. Food and beer lovely. Highly recommend if you’re in the Gensenkirchen area.

The baked potato tasted musty and was returned. The second one was just as musty. You just couldn't consume it. The service was also poor. Never again!

Wir waren vor ein paar Tagen spontan noch Abends dort essen. Das Lokal war gut besucht. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und wir wurden schnell bedient. Die Portionen sind sehr großzügig und die Speisen waren sehr lecker. Auch die Essen an den anderen Tischen sahen sehr gut aus. Alles in einem haben wir uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt und wirklich gut zu einem fairen Preis gegessen. Wir kommen wieder.

Quaint restaurant in the middle of Buer. The menu offers all sorts of classics. We ordered schnitzel and the small knuckle. The portions are generous and homemade sauerkraut was served with the knuckle. We also noticed the professional and very friendly service. All in all, you can eat very well, heartily and at a fair price here. On FC Schalke 04 home game days, it is advisable to reserve in advance by telephone.

Hier in Gelsenkirchen-Buer gibt es ein sehr schönes rustikales Lokal. "Der Dorfkrug" liegt in der Fußgängerzone gegenüber der Probsteikirche St. Urbanus. Man hat hier eine schöne Auswahl an leckeren Gerichten wie z.B. Haxe, verschiedene Schnitzelvariationen oder eine sehr leckere Currywurst mit Pommes und Salatgarnitur. Das Personal ist sehr nett und schnell. Gegen Wochenende sollte man für abends am besten rechtzeitig reservieren, da es dann voll wird. Die Preise sind auch nach einer Erhöhung Anfang des Jahres (was wahrscheinlich auch der MWST-Erhöhung geschuldet ist) in Ordnung. Wir waren bereits mehrere Male hier und haben sicherlich schon die halbe Karte probiert. Bisher alles sehr gut. Weiter so.

The nice waiter immediately pointed out to me that there was an additional charge of €6... So not €17.90 but €23.90... What was then served was unbeatable in terms of impudence... Two small ones Schnitzel, as flattened as the Bild newspaper from Gelsenkirchen...meat weight about 150g...I also told the waiter about my disappointment (but what can the poor guy do)....Dear Mr. Gül... After I took the trouble to read through the reviews today, I realized that they don't deal well with criticism... I'm very careful with reviews on the Internet because I've worked in the catering industry myself for 30 years am.....Maybe you should rethink your concept.....For 23.90€ maybe a small salad would be enough with the dishes...That might justify the price.........You need each other Also please don't comment on this review... I knew this restaurant from TV, it was TOP, but being there in person was amazing... Super nice and friendly service, very, very tasty food and also the ambience is very nice… we will definitely be back…..

Went there for the Domfunken boys’ sing-along evening. The atmosphere was great, the service was good. The staff friendly and good. It was too warm up there with so many people.

My two aunts (also from the ladies' meeting) can attest to my wording: "not the original" and the waitress's wording: "Then Viennese style". Even after calling, I asked to speak to the kitchen (which was supposedly no longer there) and they didn't respond, even though I had the wrong order and the wrong invoice. Misunderstandings can happen and arise. But to carry all this on my shoulder, the customer's shoulder, is not fair! Very sad as a student in Buer. No longer worth a visit!!!

Weihnachtsbufett für knapp 50 Euro und so wenig Auswahl!

Der ansonsten sehr freundliche Service hatte bei Reservierung verschlafen Bescheid zu geben, dass an Weihnachten nur Buffet. Schade, hätten uns auf Steak gefreut. Buffet lecker aber für den Preis von 45 € pP leider etwas mickrig von der Auswahl, vor allem Beilagen. Gemütliches Ambiente in einer alten Kornscheune. WC allerdings leider im OG, deshalb nicht gerecht für ältere Menschen. Edit: Kein Anruf bei uns. Offenbar ist hier was falsch gelaufen. Bei Zeitpunkt der Reservierung war keine Rede von Weihachtsessen. Schade.

Sehr nette Bedienung, das Ambiente urig und gemütlich und das Essen ist auch noch spitze!

Gestern nach längerer Zeit dort gegessen. Es war wieder sehr lecker, das Lokal ist gemütlich und die Servicekraft war sehr freundlich und sehr fix. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich. Also: Gerne wieder!

Es war unfassbar lecker dort. Das schöne urige Lokal wurde uns empfohlen, wir lieben es wenn es urig und rustikal ist. Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich. Wir haben Haxen dort gesessen, 18.90 Euro für eine ca 1.2 kg Haxe sind preislich wohl unglaublich. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

If your are in the Buer area and want a really good meal in an awesome environment, this should be your number one option. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, the ambiance is great, and the service is top notch! And you can do a full meal with drinks and dessert for under 70 Euros. I had the schnitzel which was tender and amazing, and the fresh cherries with the chocolate lava cake is incredible. I highly recommend the specialty potatoes which are cooked with onions and little bits of bacon as the side for any dish. Well worth the visit.

Das Essen war sehr Lecker. Gute deutsche bürgerliche Küche. Das Lokal ist sehr Rustikal und hat auf jedenfall seinen Charme (nicht soooo ganz mein Fall aber es ist ja Geschmackssache). Sehr zu empfehlen.
