Hier wird Qualität groß geschrieben. Alle paar Monate sind wir im Waldhaus zu Gast und jedes Mal übertreffen sich die Köche aufs Neue! Ich bestelle mir immer den “Gentlemans Cut”, 400gr dry-aged Steak und jeder Cent ist es wert! Als Beilage sind die Kartoffel-Chips zu empfehlen; hauchzart, knusprig und voller Geschmack. Auf Empfehlung des Hauses haben wir von der Wochenkarte das Thunfisch-Steak bestellt. In der Regel esse ich kein Fisch auswärts, aber dieses Stück hat mich positiv überrascht! Service ist wie immer 1A.

Unfortunately a failure. Table ordered, arrived. 2 employees cannot find the reservation in their book. No matter, we were assigned a table. 6:15 p.m. The store is quite full, so wait for service. Menu: We are surprised at the very high prices, but if you get something for it, that's ok. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. We chose a standard mixed salad, nothing special, then a schnitzel with beans and Bombay chicken breast. What arrived? As written, a standard salad. After the salad, a very long wait, the boss comes and apologizes for taking so long. The store is just very full. An absurdity when it comes to prices. The schnitzel was average. With fries and beans. The chicken breast was plain fried, a rice ball without anything and brokoli. So also standard pub food. Add two more Krefeld cheeses and a coke and the €83 was ready!! Invoice. We've eaten much better for the money and in places with prices like this they take care of their guests. The boss then wanted to do something “good” for us, but then disappeared and we just paid and left. It's a shame, the shop is nice, but we won't be going there anymore. The recommendation is to take a look at the menu online beforehand, the price/performance ratio doesn't match at all, even with the steaks (you also look at the plates of the people sitting next to you😉). The food was top and the ambience by the lake was also very appealing. We were there on a Saturday evening and unfortunately it took a bit long. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the high prices are justified.

We spent our 24th wedding anniversary today in this wonderful restaurant. The food was very good, the portion size was perfect and the staff was very friendly, attentive and helpful. Price/performance ratio is reasonable, the quality was very good. This wasn't our last visit!

Went to a wedding there and it was a great location! The adjacent lake in the garden is particularly beautiful. The staff was nice and quick and the interior design looks very classy.

The ambience and location are very nice. The cake was okay. The iced coffee was super watery and the scoop of vanilla ice cream was full of ice crystals. The service wasn't particularly friendly. The prices were clearly too high for what was delivered.

A customer is very close by, so I've been to the Waldhaus with him about ten times. It was always delicious. Sometimes I had vegetarian food, sometimes steak, sometimes fish, sometimes snails, etc. It was always good. The service was always friendly, quick and attentive. Because of the architecture and equipment, the volume is pleasant, never too loud. The large terrace with a view of the lake is also wonderful. The selection is relatively large, but they manage to prepare all the dishes fresh and quickly. The prices are okay considering the quality.

After being guests at the Waldhaus twice a month, we would like to thank the whole team for the great service and the excellent food.

We had dinner there on Mother's Day. We basically sat in the connecting room, it was hectic at times, the house was full... But it was okay. Food was good, no fully loaded plates. Plus point, dogs are allowed, water was even offered for the dog. Very nice service. We'd love to come back.

Sehr guter und charmanter Service, gediegenes Ambiente und leckeres Essen. Aufgrund diverser Familienfeiern gab es diverse Menüangebote. Mit einem leckeren Spargelsüppchen, Hauptgericht und einer Schoko Mousse. Für jeden Geschmack war etwas dabei. Alles hat hervorragend geschmeckt, war fein abgeschmeckt und liebevoll angerichtet. Ausgewogenes Preis Leistungsverhältnis.

With a delicious asparagus soup, main course and a chocolate mousse. There was something for every taste. Everything tasted excellent, was delicately seasoned and lovingly prepared. Very nice restaurant with good food. The Sunday lunch menu is different to the evening menu and other menus, smaller and designed differently than usual, cheaper with starter soup and dessert included. But you always find something. Portions are not big, but it is enough. Definitely worth a visit and it's a good place to go for a walk. Reservations would be an advantage.

The only negative point is the prices

We each ordered 200g beef fillet with Bernaise sauce, mushroom heads, grilled tomato and croquettes. We were already irritated when the waiter asked when ordering whether we would like to order any additional side dishes, which we said no. The food came in the normal time frame. A plate with a relatively small beef fillet, 1/2 grilled tomato, 4 small croquettes and 2 !! Mushroom heads on each plate. That looked very clear. We then ordered more croquettes. These also came - on a small plate there were 4 small croquettes for 2 people. The food was otherwise really tasty. When we paid, we were amazed that there was an additional charge of EUR 4.50 for the 4 small croquettes. When asked, the waiter said that he had been instructed to collect the money that way. With a price per dish of EUR 39.50, you can certainly expect that you will at least be full. There was no accommodation from the restaurant (dessert, coffee or digestif). We felt totally ripped off and the restaurant experience left a bad taste in our mouths. We have eaten at the Waldhaus several times (even in large groups) and were satisfied. If the restaurant pursues this new strategy of high prices and small portions due to increased energy prices or the after-effects of Corona, it will certainly feel the effects soon. We are disappointed...and won't be coming back for the time being.

Really a great restaurant. The ambience is nice, it's cozy. Everything here invites you to linger. The service was 1 with *. Very friendly, accommodating, quick and polite. I haven't had such good service in a long time. The food was impeccable. We were there on a Sunday, where there is only a small menu but everything is offered as a menu, but there is something for everyone there too. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely come back. Only the price is corresponding.

In the meantime, further visits took place at the Waldhaus am See in Gelsenkirchen, even a semi-circular birthday. I can only say that I am completely thrilled by the ambience, which is very important to me, the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. I can only recommend the house.

Only recommended! I have never experienced such friendly service before and the food was also excellent! Logically, this resulted in a fantastic ambience that you can hardly wait for your next visit :)

We only saw the Waldhaus am See from the outside, almost as we drove past, and found it so cozy that we looked at the map online. We liked this just as much and the lack of price information suggested that this was a more upscale class. We were there recently and it was a dream! The food was very tasty, the service was very accommodating and the winding restaurant was very cozy and pretty. After paying, I asked about the chocolate dessert that I had seen at the next table and we were promptly served one for free so that we could try it. It's definitely not the last time we've been there, even though it's actually quite far away from us, but it's definitely worth it and the menu still has a lot of interesting dishes!

Light and shadow... Great ambience, good menu, decent portions, varied wine list - basically everything you need for a nice evening in the restaurant. Special praise for the great pasta, rarely at this level outside of Italy… BUT: if a carpaccio costs €17, you can expect that it won't come straight out of the fridge with a plate and that the rocket will already be wilting. And the quality of the meat was unfortunately subpar, around 25% was not chewable as tendon. We commented and then received a formal apology as we left the restaurant. That's nice, but it doesn't do much good. Because conversely, this means that the customer is deliberately not offered any relief for poor quality (the question of guilt is irrelevant). That's not possible - especially given the apparently high standards that are conveyed to the outside world!

Upscale ambience, good food selection, even for non-meat eaters. The little guests have also been thought of. With the option of sitting on the terrace with a view of the lake. The furnishings are dignified and comfortable. Celebrating on a grand scale is possible. The staff is very friendly. A parking space is available

A very dignified restaurant in terms of the ambience, but it is not very classy. You can go there dressed normally. SERVICE STAFF is very good, and the food was there relatively quickly at 5:30 p.m. Food was very tasty. Will definitely come back and if it's warmer outside then sit outside.

The ambience is very nice. We don't find the staff to be consistently friendly. A lady who seated us lacked a smile on her face and was very taciturn. We didn't feel very welcome. The male waiters, on the other hand, were very nice. The selection is huge, the food is fantastic! The truffle pasta is incredibly tasty and the meat is perfectly prepared and tastes outstanding. However, the noodle portion is very small. For us it's more like an appetizer size. Thank God we ordered roast beef and salad on top. Together with the dessert, we were just about full. For the price, however, I expect a portion that is enough to fill you up on its own. Overall, the prices are at the upper pain limit. Definitely not for every day. But we would definitely like to come back.

We have been there several times now and have not been disappointed so far. The food is very tasty and the restaurant is very comfortably furnished. The staff has always been courteous so far. We'd love to come back.

My husband and I spontaneously stopped by this really nice restaurant on Sunday afternoon. The ambience impresses with its modern and warm character. I felt the warmth and love that this restaurant exudes. The service staff also reflects this warmth and love. I felt like I was with a good friend. As a hobby cook and lover of good food, I really got my money's worth. I'm actually very picky when it comes to food and I definitely don't eat everything. But the dishes that my husband and I had were simply the best we had eaten in a long time, both in terms of craftsmanship and quality. The recommended wines were perfectly matched to the food. Cheers, my dears. This was the best thing I've had on my plate in a long time. Big compliments for this great evening! We'd love to come back. Very nice restaurant in Gelsenkirchen. Very attractive furnishings and excellent wine list. The dishes on offer are varied. Everything tastes very good. E.g. Hollandaise and Bernaise sauces are homemade. Very friendly waiters. Great view. Funeral arrangements are also available in the afternoon.

Everything is just right here. Great ambience, great service and excellent food. That entices you to come back. We are there regularly and for every special occasion. In my opinion the best restaurant in the city and I'm a gourmet.

Dias Restaurant verfügt über große, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete, Räumlichkeiten zum See hin gehen Sie in einen verglasten Wintegarten über. Schöne Sicht auf den See und un den Park. Das Speisenangebot ist mediterran, die Preise haben gehobenes Niveau.

Das Ambiente und das Essen sind hier spitze. Der Service kann man nur als 1a bezeichnen. Im Sommer durch die Terrasse und den Teich Spitze. Ok es ist nicht gerade billig hier zu essen. Aber ich gehe lieber einmal weniger dafür aber gut aus

Super schönes Restaurant in dem man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Der Service und die Bedienung einfach klasse, vom Chef angefangen über die Mitarbeiter einfach top wohlgefühlt und als Gast gefühlt! Sehr zu empfehlen und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Im Prinzip ist die Sterne Wertung Aussage kräftig. Aber ich muss noch was los werden, der Service hätte 6 Sterne verdient, aufmerksam und sehr nett obwohl der Laden voll war. Das Essen auch sehr lecker. Wir sehen uns wieder.

Hier kann man jeden Anlass gebührend feiern. Perfektes Essen in tollem Ambiente. Auch im größten Stress hat man mir glutenfreie Speisen und Alternativen gebracht. Es war wie immer grandios und wir kommen wieder.

Tolles Ambiente und sehr aufmerksamer Service. Vorspeisen waren gut. Hauptspeisen sehr lecker und schön angerichtet. Die Nachspeisen waren leider langweilig (Tiramisu) und würde ich nicht wieder bestellen. Parken auf dem großen Parkplatz gut möglich. Preislich etwas gehoben, aber bei den Hauptspeisen noch im Rahmen.

Es war alles perfekt, besonders der aufmerksame Service ist hervorzuheben. Damen Sanitärbereich ist leider der Sensor betriebene Papierspender und Mülleimer sehr unpraktisch- direkt neben der Eingangstür- plaziert, so dass man die Tür gegen bekommt, wenn jemand reinkommt. Das kann sehr weh tun.

Das Restaurant hat ein sehr schönes und außergewöhnliches Ambiente. Die Ruhe und der Blick auf den See gibt ein bisschen Urlaubsstimmung. Das Essen hat für mich einen gehobenen Anspruch, das ist schon ein Genuss für den Gaumen. 🫶

Das Restaurant ist sehr schön gelegen und machte einen sehr guten Eindruck. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und bekamen ohne Reservierung einen schönen Tisch auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf Radweg, Park, und nahegelegener Teichanlage. Die Karte ist recht umfangreich, was mich immer ein wenig skeptisch in Sachen Zubereitung macht. Unsere Bestellung: 1 Vorspeisensalat 19,90€ 2 Hauptgerichte 34,90 € und 31,90€ 1 Flasche Mineralwasser 8,50 € 1 Glas Weißwein zum Hauptgericht Als Gruß aus der Küche gab es Brot, Butter und Kartoffelsalat. Der Vorspeisensalat ließ Gutes hoffen. Das Huhn auf den Punkt, lecker warm; Die Zutaten frisch, viele frische Früchte und knackig frischer Salat - dazu Baguette-Brot. Der Salat hätte für den Preis größer sein können. Die Hauptgerichte indes waren dann eine herbe Enttäuschung. Für 34,90 € hatten wir zwei Medaillons, versalzenen Kartoffelchips und als Beilage Zucchinischeiben ohne besonderen Pfiff. Für 31,90 € kamen ebenfalls zwei wenig ansehnliche, plattgeklopfte Fleischscheiben (sollten Schweinelachse sein) mit Kräuterseitlingen in (viel) Instantsauce, dazu ebenfalls zu stark gesalzenen Rosmarindrillinge. Der bestellte Wein war beim Personal in Vergessenheit geraten und wurde von uns dann auch nicht mehr reklamiert. Er hätte ohnehin bestenfalls zum Salat gepasst. Alles in allem war die Preise für das Essen reichlich überzogen. Sie passen bestenfalls zum Ambiente und zur Location des Restaurants. Hier klafft eine große Lücke zwischen Preis und Leistung.

The location is great, especially on a sunny day, the lake and the woods invite for a stroll after the meal. The food was good, if pricey. Unfortunately we were stuck with a waitress who was poor at engaging with customers. She didn’t go beyond the absolutely necessary exchange and was unable to deal with special requests. Shame! We decided against booking the restaurant for our next family reunion. There seems to be a policy of not accepting credit cards.

Wir wollten zum Geburtstag ein besonderes Restaurant auswählen und waren wieder einmal sehr zufrieden. Das Personal sehr freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Die Speisekarte bot eine tolle Auswahl an Fleisch und Fischgerichten. Wir waren begeistert von der Qualität der Speisen und dem Ambiente des Restaurants.
