Great option for Bavarian food in Garmisch Partenkirchen. We had the Fuhre Mist which was a variety of meats plus fries served in a wooden cart. The meats were generally tender and had good flavor, and the portions were huge. We also had the cheese soup and beef soup which were both were underwhelming but I guess homey and comforting. I would say the flavors weren't particularly spectacular, but it was nice to try authentic Bavarian food.

Very generous and, above all, delicious portions. We received very friendly and polite service. The Fuhre Mist (a kind of dumpling) is especially recommended! 😉

A wonderful establishment. We came without a reservation and even despite the rush hour, they found us a seat in 5 minutes. Delicious dark beer and a very tasty meat platter. Also a wonderful interior. If you want to immerse yourself in the local flavor, then this is the place for you.

Great place, very atmospheric. Super tasty food. We ordered a meat plate. It was enough for two, the food is fresh, the meat is incredibly tasty. For lovers of dark beer, I recommend trying it here. The staff is friendly. I will definitely visit again if I am in these parts.

We spontaneously stopped by Wolpertinger Essen today without a reservation. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff was friendly. The food was top-quality, and the amber beer was reasonably priced. We can recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Thank you for the lovely evening 👍😋

BY FAR THE BEST MEAL WE’VE HAD IN GERMANY!! I got the pork schnitzel stuffed with horseradish and mustard, with spaetzle on the side - IT WAS DIVINE. They had a little cranberry jam on the side and wow it was just the yummiest meal I’ve had in a long time. The beer was good. The wine soaked beef was also an huge hit and very very good. Apple strudel with vanilla pudding did not disappoint. Everything here was DELICIOUS. Definitely a must stop by restaurant if in the area.

Tourist trap. The food was sadly tasteless. The service was friendly but honestly nothing can redeem the place. We ordered 3 different maindishes and they were all equally terrible.

My partner and I had a delicious meal here last Thursday. We called shortly after the restaurant opened and reserved a table without any problems. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly, seated, and immediately asked what we would like to drink. The portions are large, and the food was also delicious; they cater to your every need. I can also recommend the delicious Aperol Spritz! The ambiance and atmosphere are also really nice; you felt really comfortable. The only negative point, despite our request, is that the rump steak was cooked medium, which it was, except that the back part was so thick that it was still very rare and raw. On top of that, the pepper sauce was very hot, and since it probably had chili in it, maybe we'll mention that next time. Otherwise, it was very tasty. We finished off with a delicious schnapps. We can definitely recommend the restaurant and will certainly come back. Here, the emphasis is on delicious food with large portions and great service!

We ordered Nuremberg sausages, salmon fillet, steak, everything was very tasty. There were too many people, it is better to take beer in a half-liter mug. The Bavarian atmosphere was as expected. Feel free to come in.

We were very disappointed with the food. It was very touristy, and therefore many of the ingredients and dishes were pre-prepared. The meat was cut much too thickly; I personally even suspect that some of the ingredients were ready-made meals, and not everything was freshly prepared. We were very disappointed!

Unfortunately, it wasn't to our taste. Lots of fried food and designed for mass consumption. The main course, wild mushroom schnitzel with spaetzle, was unfortunately very bland. The chicken wings were good, and the sour cream with the baked potato was really tasty. The price was reasonable. But we still wouldn't recommend it.

Unfortunately, a phone reservation wasn't possible because the cell phone number somehow disconnected after a short message. So we walked over to make a reservation. The next day we went and ordered the böfflamott. The waiter confused the table and told the other guests that their order was no longer available. They were so disappointed that they left immediately. The waiter then realized it when he got their food from the kitchen. He confessed the mistake... he felt so sorry for the guests. We then ate their Steckerl Wickel, which was excellent. After that, we had a Bosford rose gin, wow, so delicious. Everything here is very good and I highly recommend it.

We attempted to communicate and order in German, while apologizing for not being fluent. But we tried. The server was rude, impatient, and inattentive. I understand the language barrier may be difficult, but there is no need for rudeness. The person who took our payment tossed our change at us and left. For a tourist town, unfortunately my first impression is that we aren't wanted here. The food was decent but did not make up for the way we were treated.

Unfortunately, I can't confirm the other reviews. Revisiting would be more of a "no thanks." It's a shame, really, because the ambiance is great! Perhaps a new tenant and operator under the same restaurant name. (One thought: German dishes without the chef's appropriately trained and experienced palate.) The location is, of course, super quaint and beautiful; there's nothing there. The restaurant's decor is exactly what you'd expect from the name. Definitely 5 stars here. The menu is extensive and fitting! Service and Waiting Time: The restaurant was 70-80% full, and we had to wait a long time. 1 hour and 5 minutes from ordering our food to the arrival of our dishes. We were still in good spirits with the welcome and the first drink order. That was quick. The staff was very friendly but visibly stressed (which isn't a bad thing). It's annoying, however, when you order the same meal 5 times, with 4 of them having the same side dish and 1 time having a different one. We then waited over an hour for the food, and then the side dishes were exactly the wrong way around. The "one different" came four times, and vice versa. So I'd be cautious with special requests here. We only chose from three possible side dishes, and that didn't work out. Thank goodness they brought us the right side as an extra within five minutes. Free of charge. You think, "Don't make such a fuss and eat it anyway." But when you're looking forward to a view of spaetzle for an hour... Well, we sat in front of our food without cutlery and had to scan the room to see where it was. Then we went and got it ourselves (which, as we observed, wasn't part of the normal routine). Oh yes, thirst is also something you shouldn't be here. Waiting an hour for the food also meant sitting on dry land. We weren't able to order a second drink because no one came to our area to speak to. Even though four of the six tables were occupied. When the meal was served, we ordered drinks again, and when we asked again about 15 minutes later, they arrived within a minute. So they were already ready, but weren't brought. But unfortunately, we were almost finished eating by then. Then you just don't need a full beer anymore, but rather think about leaving after 1.5-2 hours. Quality of the food: Unfortunately, dissatisfaction was also noticeable in the taste of the food. The cuisine was rather simple and seasoned sparingly. The sauces were brilliant, though! Find working pepper shakers before eating; you'll need them. And they've probably been there for a long time or are filled with extremely weak pepper. It doesn't really taste like anything. ("Norma" was legible on the label, if that can serve as a seal of quality where it was purchased.) With the bill: After the meal, everyone receives a free liqueur as a welcome gift from the house/kitchen, even if they call it "Schnaps." We suspect, or rather tasted, the "Prinz" brand. Rather sweet, but delicious. Conclusion: As a hungry and thirsty group of five, we would refrain from returning. If you just want to eat "a lot," fine. But you shouldn't have any expectations about the taste. And normally, everything tastes great when you're as hungry as we were. Recommendations: One more server, Better pepper shakers that actually work, Remove those huge vases as decorations from the table, Training/course for the chef on German cuisine (for soups, spaetzle, and using spices) It has potential!

The atmosphere is cozy, and I can't fault the service either; it was attentive and friendly. The food, however, was unfortunately not good at all. I don't understand the many positive reviews in this regard. The children's schnitzel was finger-thick and dry. The first cordon bleu was completely burnt on the bottom. After complaining, I received a new cordon bleu. It was actually great. The second cordon bleu wasn't burnt, but unfortunately, it was also completely dry. That's probably due to the thickness of the meat, like with the schnitzel. It should have been pounded. We ate it, simply because we were hungry. I wouldn't go there again. There are much better restaurants in Garmisch.

The only minor criticism is that the fries could have been a bit crispier. I think that says it all about this restaurant. The food was really good and plentiful. I recommend ordering the side salad with vinegar/oil or just with oil; it was really good. Sure, as a vegan you don't get much choice, but you know that beforehand. That makes the salad all the more recommendable. The beer is delicious, including the non-alcoholic lager! The service is very friendly and always quick. We also liked the decor. And the price is more than reasonable. We highly recommend it.

We ate here three times, and all the food was always excellent. The light beer tastes delicious!

It's ranked number 1 on Tripadvisor, and it's pretty crowded. The food tastes average, but not particularly outstanding. The food came very quickly, almost too quickly to be considered leisurely. We specifically emphasized that we wanted soup first, then salad, and then steak. The steak came much too quickly; we weren't even finished with the salad. Unfortunately, we felt like everything was moving so quickly that the table could be filled with new guests. The steak was cooked to perfection, but a bit tough, and the portions were generous.

I don't understand all the positive reviews. If I could give the food zero stars, I would. We got a table right away, which was quietly located in a corner. We then had to wait a long time to get the menu. Then we waited even longer to order. The service was friendly, but definitely disorganized or overwhelmed. The food came fairly quickly, but unfortunately, that didn't make it any better. It was very spicy, very salty, and tasted suspiciously like pre-made sauce/flavor enhancers, as well as somewhat sour (?). The side salad was good—but I had to eat it with my boyfriend's soup spoon, as I hadn't received my own cutlery yet (despite asking).

Unfortunately, my visit didn't impress me. The roast turkey was very dry, the sauce tasted like a ready-made sauce, and the cheese spaetzle were rather bland but still OK. The service was very friendly, but a bit overwhelmed. Overall, unfortunately, it was disappointing.

We spontaneously arrived shortly before closing time without a reservation, but this wasn't a problem. We still managed to get a table quickly, even though the restaurant was still very busy. I would definitely recommend making a reservation. The portions are really large and the food tastes very good. The ambiance is also typical of a pub, but with a beautiful view of the mountains. The only downside is the service. While the waitress is extremely friendly, they seemed overwhelmed that evening. We had to wait quite a long time for our drinks order to be taken. This continued throughout our stay. But it was bearable. The food, on the other hand, arrived quickly. Card payments are accepted, but we noticed quite clearly that cash is preferred. All in all, the restaurant is highly recommended, especially if you want to spend a cozy evening with good food.

Great authentic german atmosphere, loved potatoes and apple strudel!

We were there with a large group for my parents' golden wedding anniversary. At first everything went smoothly and smoothly, but then things really started to spiral out of control. Reorders took ages, and we had to complain multiple times. Some of the food was brought out incorrectly. The quality wasn't that great either. When new guests arrived, they were promptly served their first drink and then left sitting. What was most annoying was that there was no information about what was going on or why it was taking so long. Anything can happen, after all. But everyone remained silent and waited it out. Which pretty much ruined the good mood that evening. So I wouldn't recommend it!

We recently visited Wolpertinger as a group of 14 persons attending a workshop in Garmisch. The experience was outstanding. The beer selection was exceptional and the food was both delicious and clearly prepared with great care. Portion sizes were generous my steak, in particular, was excellent and more than sufficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

We were warmly welcomed without waiting and were given a table straight away. We felt very comfortable in the restaurant itself. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating - we didn't have to wait long for our food and drinks. Even during the meal we kept asking if everything was okay. The food (Münchner Schnitzel & Brauhaus-Schnitzel) was excellent and the portions were more than sufficient. The dessert (apple strudel) was also very tasty. Conclusion: The restaurant is definitely worth a visit; Great value for money!

We ate at Wolpertinger on Saturday, every dish we ordered was extremely tasty.

Wir hatten reserviert und wurden auch gleich an den Tisch geführt. Dann realisierten wir, dass im voll besetzten Lokal fast alle Tische entweder nichts oder nur Getränke auf dem Tisch hatten und warteten. Der einzige Kellner musste nicht nur Bestellungen aufnehmen, Essen und Getränke auftragen, Rechnungen ausstellen und kassieren, sondern auch noch den Getränkeausschank übernehmen. Entsprechend lange warteten alle. Nachdem sich lange niemand um uns kümmerte und aufgrund der zu erwartenden langen Wartezeit gingen wir dann ohne etwas bestellt zu haben.

Were there because of the good reviews. We expected typical Bavarian food but it was more like semi-Bavarian. Several schnitzels to choose from but no normal Viennese schnitzel. More like impulses. But it wasn't food from a 4.7 star restaurant. But service was very friendly!

Don't understand the good reviews. We were looking forward to Bavarian specialties. The menu is anything but Bavarian. Currywurst, nuggets??? Portions are large and reasonably priced. But that's not Bavarian food.

From our point of view, the recessions are completely incomprehensible! The poor service is only trumped by the even worse food. Salad from the bag, ready-made sauces, dry pre-made “schnitzels”. The only positive things are the large portions and the beer.

Excellent experience. We were there right at 5pm after a long morning and no stop for lunch, so we were really hungry. Service was fast for us and everyone who came in after us. I had two breaded pork chops with mushroom cognac gravy, excellent and spaetzle. Had to take half away. Seasoned perfectly.

Yesterday (July 24th, 2020) we reserved a table for 6 people at 6:30 p.m. and were warmly welcomed! Everything was perfect and the food was great! Fresh, hot, tasty... and plentiful :-) The load of crap was great, the BackHend'l with fries, the turkey skewer with fried potatoes and salad and the 'children's' burger were also found to be delicious. If we are in Garmisch again, we would be happy to stop by again... And when the boss brought the D ’ö’ del to the table ;-) ... find out for yourself :-))

Showing up without a reservation and with a dog was no problem at all, and water was immediately provided for the dog. The decor is appropriate and creates a pleasant atmosphere. The food was delicious, and small special requests for side dishes were easily accommodated. The dishes were brought within 15 minutes at the most. The portions are huge. The main course with a side salad as a starter was so large that unfortunately there was no room for dessert. Given the size of the portions, the price is more than reasonable. The service was excellent. Although the restaurant was busy, we never went without service. Good food, relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, top service, good value for money. Highly recommended!!! You should bring some cash, though. Card payments are accepted, but tips are only accepted in cash. Thank you for the lovely dinner
