I ate fried chicken here a few weeks ago. From the very first bite, I noticed that it was unfortunately raw inside. This caused me enormous stress and pain as a pregnant woman, as I have to do blood cultures every few weeks until the birth, and I may have contracted Listeria there. I find it unacceptable that they don't follow kitchen safety guidelines and don't control the temperature when cooking chicken. When we told them about the problem, they also said it had happened before and that "it wasn't a problem, it just meant the chicken was fresh"(?). What a response.

We were at Marienburg for lunch. They cook their own food here. We especially appreciated the sauces. Delicious, you'd want to sit down and eat! The roast pork is legendary, and the Gorgonzola pasta is also fantastic. The service was impressively fast. Even if you're short on time, you can still enjoy good, high-quality food here. We'll be back!

The food is consistently high quality, and the atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly, whether outside under the trees or inside. The atmosphere is especially pleasant in winter when the wood fire crackles in the large fireplace.

A charming Bavarian restaurant. Nicely decorated inside, with a beer garden outside almost entirely covered by chestnut trees. The food is decent and good. It's not cheap, but it's not particularly expensive either. A good choice in the east of Munich.

The only complaint concerns the portions, which are often too large and it hurts your soul when you can't finish your plate and the considerable remainder ends up in the trash. It's definitely delicious and the employees there today were active and in a good mood. What bothered me a bit personally - but that's a personal feeling - the decoration in the entrance area with the famous 3 tools in relation to the large scythe makes me uncomfortable and I find it anything but positive.

Our favorite restaurant with really excellent food - a very good mix on the menu between classic pub dishes and more upscale dishes. The beer garden is beautiful and in winter the open fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere. Simply recommended!

We visited the Wirtshaus zur Marienburg on a Saturday afternoon and sat in the beer garden. The service was very friendly, but the food selection was a bit limited. The soup could have been warmer, and the bread with the cracklings could have been a bit better quality. So, there's room for improvement... I'd rather go to the Lindengarten in Trudering: same owners, but with better food 😉

Super friendly, great and attentive service. Drinks arrived first, lightning fast, and we practically didn't have to wait for the truly delicious food either. We were there at 5:30 p.m., and it wasn't busy yet, but you can see and feel that things are running smoothly and they've got it under control, even when it's packed... Highly recommended! It's definitely nice to sit outside in the beer garden in the summer too :-)

The food is ordinary, German. Nothing special. But their tables outside under the chestnut trees on the sunny side are a separate kind of pleasure. Drinking a beer in the cozy garden in silence is worth a stop here.

A quaint, very authentic, small inn with a guest garden in the middle of the residential area. We were there in January 2025 and really enjoyed the ambience with the fireplace and the many winter decorations. The food was wonderful, we had cheese spaetzle and roast pork. At the end there was apple fritters, all highly recommended. The service was also very friendly and open-minded. We'll definitely be back.

Nice restaurant, unfortunately service was not adequate. No greeting, no question about food requests or whether everything was okay... even though the shop was almost empty. Employees seem very annoyed. Chaos when paying at the end is on top.

Vegan Schupfnudeln reminded me of fries in the swimming pool, over-fatty and totally over-salted, as were the prices. The service didn't smile once or have a friendly face, which doesn't surprise me given the mood the boss spreads. Positively, the open fireplace is an extra star

Best traditional mountain farmer's schnitzel I have tried in Munich

We had a company event there. The welcome was great, two young ladies in super chic dirndels brought me to the group in a side room that was very comfortably furnished. The menu offers many great dishes. Everyone in the team was thrilled with the taste. A lovely evening in a great atmosphere.

The local German restaurant served up the finest German cuisine I've ever tasted. The duck was a standout dish, incredibly juicy and tender. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere, bathed in warm yellow light, created the perfect setting for a delightful evening, especially on a chilly night.

Good home-style food at a reasonable price

Cozy Bavarian inn. We ended up there because there were deer medallions on the map. With potato gratin, broccoli florets and a very tasty port wine sauce (€26.90) we didn't regret it. For dessert there was apple fritters and blackcurrant tiramisu. All in all, a successful Sunday meal.

Since I discovered the inn, it has been one of my absolute favorite restaurants that I enjoy visiting again and again. What is particularly noteworthy is what is traditional about it: a wonderful room, griachy, rustic, a stylish, rustic ambience that is decorated with great attention to detail - in summer and winter. Here you can taste honest craftsmanship and everything is homemade. Best roast pork with a crispy crust and classic dumplings - better than great-grandma's and grandma's, honestly. And today tender beef roulade with fine mashed potatoes and delicious red wine sauce - everything about it is homemade. The dish is a dream! When you cut it you can see the components: tender, various vegetables, the slightly pink meat and the bacon, neatly rolled up. I personally enjoy eating the entire menu again and again, from top to bottom. Stay like this, you are simply amazing!

We often go to Marienburg because there are hardly any other restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, the service is very poor, the waitresses are rude and the (justified) criticism is met with a negative and sometimes rude response (particularly negative emphasis should be placed on the younger, somewhat "strong" waitress). The food is okay, the rooms and beer garden are nice.

Was there after a smaller craft project and was really hungry. The daily menu included sauerbraten from false fillet in red wine sauce with cabbage and bread dumplings. Sauerbraten is my favorite dish and the bar was set very high. But this was by far an unrivaledly tasty and super tender sauerbraten. The creamy cabbage was a dream and the portion was huge. Afterwards there was Baileys Tiramisu, very tasty and creamy. I had a great evening, the food was delicious, the service was very attentive, knew the menu very well and gave the right recommendations. Keep it up, compliments to the kitchen and the service.

Unfortunately there are only a few vegetarian dishes on the menu. Meat dominates! While meat eaters struggle with portions, non-meat eaters wake up hungry. Prices do not reflect this imbalance. Meat is probably still the cheapest in Germany. The baked potato is fine. The lukewarm bread dumpling salad is too small even as a starter. The waitresses are always very friendly and attentive and the beer garden with the chestnuts is beautiful and invites you to have a cold beer.

We have enjoyed visiting the Wirtshaus zur Marienburg for years, especially the beer garden in summer. It is a quiet place to spend a relaxing time. The food is very tasty, the prices are absolutely reasonable. A real insider tip in the area - if you like it cozy and relaxed, this is the right place for you!

Once and never again. The service was great, but the cuisine and food were simply not acceptable, especially for the price. The meat from the roast pork was partly cold and raw or at least red. The crust wasn't crispy at all, more like rubber. The schnitzel was fried in burnt (very old) fat, but the pictures speak for themselves. Too bad.
