Die Bedienung ist absolut fantastisch, sehr freundlich zu allen und alle sprechen Englisch.

Wir waren zu viert zu einem Geschäftsessen im Gasthaus Gotthardgarten in München-Laim. Das Ambiente ist urig und gemütlich, genau so, wie man sich ein traditionelles bayerisches Wirtshaus vorstellt. Die Bedienung war während des gesamten Abends freundlich, aufmerksam und professionell. Besonders positiv ist uns aufgefallen, dass stets auf leere Gläser geachtet wurde, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu wirken. Ich habe das Wiener Schnitzel bestellt, und das war wirklich gelungen: dünn plattiert, zart und geschmacklich genau so, wie ein gutes Wiener Schnitzel sein sollte. Die Bratkartoffeln hätten für meinen persönlichen Geschmack etwas knuspriger sein können, das ist aber nur ein kleiner Kritikpunkt auf insgesamt hohem Niveau. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden. Gutes Essen, aufmerksamer Service und ein angenehmes Ambiente – wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir sind zufällig dort gelandet und waren sehr zufrieden. Sehr idyllisch.und bis auf den Crunchy Salat der scheinbar echt schlecht gewaschen wurde war das essen genial. Man musste die kässpatzen nicht nachwürzen und haben richtig toll geschmeckt und der Kaiserschmarrn war göttlich.der Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. sollten wir mal wieder in der nähe sein kommen wir gerne wieder vorbei.

Ich war in den letzten zwei Jahren dreimal dort – leckeres Essen, kühles Bier, freundlicher Service. Ein absolutes Muss bei einem Besuch in München.

Nachdem wir heute in München unsere Erledigungen erledigt hatten, haben wir uns auf die Suche nach einem leckeren urigen Restaurant gemacht um uns vor der Heimfahrt nach Nattheim noch etwas zu stärken. So sind wir schließlich im Gotthard Garten gelandet. Die Speisekarte ist angenehm überschaubar und bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas leckeres zur Auswahl. Die bestellten Gerichte waren durch die Bank sehr, sehr lecker und schmackhaft. Der Service war jederzeit höflich zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Location ist urgemütlich, das Ganze kombiniert mit absolut fairen Preisen. Was will man mehr?

Sehr zu empfehlen. Das Essen war super, wir hatten Backhendl und Zwiebelrostbraten und beides war wirklich sehr lecker. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und der Service war sehr gut.

Salat im Allgemeinen sehr schlecht. Wir vermuten, dass Mehl oder ähnliches im Spiel war. Anders lässt sich diese Geschmackserfahrung nicht erklären. Schlechtester Kartoffelsalat meines Lebens (und ich esse viel und gerne Kartoffelsalat). Mein „Backhendl“ waren panierte Chicken Wings. Viel Spaß bei Ihrem Besuch! (ich würde es sein lassen)

Waren heute zum ersten Mal hier. Es hat uns super geschmeckt, sehr nette Bedienung, leckeres Salatdressing, große Portionen. Gerne wieder!

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit - heute aufgrund Unwetters leider nicht nutzbarem - herrlichem Biergarten und wirklich fantastischem Essen. Die Cevapcici sind ohne Übertreibung wirklich sensationell lecker!

Ich bin seit 2018 Kundin und durchgehend sehr zufrieden. Das Personal ist unglaublich sympathisch, freundlich und kompetent. Das Essen ist hervorragend – besonders das Wiener Schnitzel, das stets frisch zubereitet wird. Die Atmosphäre ist familiär und einladend. Nach der Renovierung gibt es zudem einen sehr schönen und exklusiven Wickelbereich für Mütter, was ich besonders schätze. Der Außenbereich ist im Sommer angenehm frisch und sehr gemütlich. Ich habe jedes Mal das Gefühl, hier wie zu Hause zu sein. Ich würde gerne mehr Sterne vergeben, wenn das möglich wäre.

Ja, Ambiente angenehm, Service sehr gut, Essen gut 11.3.26 - heute mit einer guten Freundin( eine begeisterte Gotthardgartenanhängerin) zum 2. Mal im Gotthardgarten. Leider gab es keine Kalbsnieren mehr, dafür ein Kalbsschnitzel Natur mit einer Kapernrahmsoße. Es war gut, hatte allerdings auch seinen Preis

Sehr leckeres Essen. Vor allem der Kaiserschmarrn ist wie von einem anderen Planeten. Aber auch das Schnitzel und das Cordon Bleu sind sehr zu empfehlen. Der Service ist sehr freundlich und das Ambiente authentisch. Der einzige Minuspunkt ist, dass die Verpackung zum Mitnehmen 60 ct kostet. Keine hohe Summe, aber das hätte einfach nicht sein gemusst und es gehört für mich zu einem guten Service dazu, ohne Aufpreis das nicht geschaffte Essen mitzunehmen. Außerdem wurden wir beim ersten Besuch nicht darauf hingewiesen und sind auf der Rechnung erst darauf gestoßen.

Der Schwabenhimmel in München! Endlich handgeschabte Spätzle. Alles hervorragend, sehr gute Qualität und Geschmack - vom Braten bis hin zum Salat.

The best Wiener Schnitzel outside of Vienna can be found there. And the pike-perch, I hear, isn't bad either. No distance is too far to travel for it!

A local good place to go for food. At noon you meet locals coming for lunch - in the evening the place is full - when i was there I booked a table always . Good food - and for me important the soup must be hot and it is . We tried different dishes - wiener schnitzel, goulash, cordon blue , the cheesecake , we liked it all and friendly people serving .

We had roast goose with dumplings. We ordered the red cabbage separately after the food arrived and we saw it wasn't included. I found that disappointing at €30 per portion. The food was delicious! The dessert was fantastic too (homemade cheesecake in a glass with pistachio cream topping). The staff were very friendly! :)

We spontaneously decided to have lunch today. Our waiter, Zoran, gave us a very warm welcome and showed us to our table. Every interaction with him showed his genuine hospitality. The food was freshly prepared quickly, and you could taste the difference. We are thrilled with this restaurant: friendly staff, delicious food, and excellent value for money. Another pleasant surprise was the spotless condition of the dining room and restrooms – something you don't often see these days. Keep up the good work!

A very nice, traditional restaurant with a terrace. The ambiance is simply rustic and classic, featuring high-quality wood. The clientele is quiet and rather mature. The service is incredibly fast, friendly, warm, and attentive (perhaps a little too fast for some); we'd barely sat down before they were taking our drink orders. Personally, I prefer to settle in first and then take things step by step! My meal (roast beef with onions and homemade spaetzle) was cooked to perfection and incredibly tender, accompanied by a classic side salad. It tasted superb, but at just under €30, it wasn't exactly cheap! However, it was worth every penny! My group was generally satisfied, apart from a few minor, subjective differences in taste. We were used to a different style of preparation, but in terms of pure craftsmanship and quality, everything was commendable and worth the price, even if it was a bit higher. In short, definitely a very good, traditional restaurant with a manageable and well-balanced menu! I will certainly go there more often, although my budget will prevent me from being a regular. But definitely recommended!

Freshly renovated, the service is very attentive and friendly. The Kaiserschmarrn is incredibly large for €17.90, and the other dishes are also very generous and made with love. You don't have to wait long for your food, either.

Finally – a wonderfully diverse menu with authentic traditional dishes, beautifully cooked, like the fantastic cabbage rolls, wonderfully flavorful liver dumplings, and much more. Friendly, fast, and competent service. A clean, modern, no-frills pub atmosphere—at most, the vintage LED lighting is a bit too intense. We're already looking forward to our second visit.

Very friendly service, good but somewhat expensive food

I ate here last night, and it exceeded my expectations. The restaurant looks inviting from the outside, and it's even more beautiful inside. The welcome was warm and the service very professional. The food was simply delicious—every detail was perfect, from the starter to the main course. There was also a fantastic wine selection that perfectly complemented my menu. You can immediately tell that the team here works with passion. For me, it was a perfect evening, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

An inn like this is something you can only wish for. We were there on a Tuesday lunchtime and had beef soup with pasta, vegetables, and meat. Tagliatelle with creamed venison, and sirloin steak with salted potatoes and freshly grated horseradish. The service was great and the food excellent. Kudos to the hosts. We'll be happy to come back!

A visit to the Gasthaus Gotthardgarten is always a real highlight when in Munich. The entire restaurant has been freshly renovated and remodeled for about six months – and the results are truly impressive: everything is even more beautiful, stylish, and inviting, without losing its traditional charm. Simply magnificent! The Bavarian cuisine is still excellent – ​​authentic dishes made according to original recipes, lovingly prepared, and delicious. There's also a large selection of cold drinks and freshly tapped beer. The restaurant is very well organized: Even without a reservation, you can usually get a seat quickly. You'll receive a friendly welcome and be shown directly to your table – the service is attentive, warm, and competent. The ambiance is typically Bavarian and cozy, and the newly designed outdoor area with its exceptionally beautiful beer garden invites you to linger. For us, a visit to Munich isn't complete without a stop at the Gotthardgarten. Many thanks to the entire team – we'll definitely be back!

Excellent restaurant in Munich's Laim district. A very charming place, especially in the summer, the outdoor area is reminiscent of a classic and always charming German beer garden. Very friendly staff. I personally ordered a plate of Spätzle with a mushroom and beef sauce. I found it delicious. Excellent selection of beers. Reservations are recommended (you can make one directly on the website). Card payments are accepted. A menu is available in English.

Addendum/addition to my review from yesterday: I had the pike-perch fillet with spinach and potatoes today – absolutely delicious! For me, this is one of the most outstanding restaurants I've ever visited. Great staff, excellent food, and a pleasant atmosphere – what more could you want?

The Wiener schnitzel and salad were served very quickly, which gave us pause. It was a well-breaded, heavily buttered schnitzel, simply pulled from a warming convection oven, served with a handful of heavily salted convenience fried potatoes. The salad was also, unfortunately, poorly prepared. In the end, we had to wait a very long time for the bill, even though the beer garden was only one-third full...

09/2025 Very nice ambiance. Very friendly service. Adequate selection of drinks and food. One star deducted for the meatloaf with chanterelle mushrooms. Unfortunately, it was too salty and covered in braised onions, which wasn't on the menu, and there were only a few chanterelle mushrooms. And a 0.4l wine spritzer in a 0.2l wine glass that was filled to the top isn't really my thing. Either get a 0.4l glass, please, or a carafe with the wine glass. Restroom clean.

From the outside, the restaurant looks a bit unassuming. But as soon as we entered the beer garden, it became cozy, romantic, and quaint. All the tables were beautifully set, under trees and shielded from traffic by a hedge. We were surprised and very pleased by the ambiance. Inside, everything is modern and cozy. The staff was very friendly. The value for money was good. We were completely satisfied with the food, and the portions were generous. The menu was varied and typically Bavarian. As far as we know, you can also order your food by phone and then pick it up. Keep up the good work!

We're visiting Munich and spontaneously looked for a restaurant near our hotel. We were very impressed. The service was truly friendly and the food was really quite good. We highly recommend it!

Hearty Bavarian food, the suckling pig was unfortunately a bit difficult in texture and flavor, the schnitzel was excellent, but the potato salad was very unspectacular. We've been coming to the Gotthardgarten regularly for many years. The food is always excellent (we've been eating the Domschnitzel for 10 years now 😀), the atmosphere is friendly and informal, and the renovation has made the ambiance even better. Simply fantastic!

Our server Adela is simply amazing. Besides her exceptional service, she is also an amazing person. We left a small bag when we ate here and only realized the following day. My expectations were completely exceeded on my last visit to the Gasthaus Gotthardgarten! I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes and was delighted. The schnitzel was perfectly breaded, tender, and juicy—exactly as a Wiener Schnitzel should be. The fried potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfectly seasoned, and an excellent complement to the main course. The service was also excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and quick, without being intrusive. You immediately felt welcome and well-cared for. The ambiance of the inn is also very appealing, cozy, and inviting. It was an all-around pleasant experience. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Gasthaus Gotthardgarten and am already looking forward to my next visit to try more dishes. If you're looking for traditional, home-style cooking in a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place for you! A definite recommendation from me.

One of the best restaurants in Munich – the food is excellent, the service is friendly. It's even worth driving to Laim for! PS: From 5 p.m. onwards, they always serve delicious freshly baked suckling pig. Highly recommended!
