5 star Bavarian German dining experience. We were seated immediately although I am told that it is wise to make a reservation. I had the Wienerschnitzel and my family had the the pig with skin special and dumplings. The coleslaw which my son and I don't typically eat was also delicious. Then we finished it off with a scrumptious apple strudel. The staff is very friendly and proud of their food. We want to explore other places to eat while we are here but we may come right back here.

Were visiting Munich. Since we only had breakfast at the hotel, we were looking for a good guesthouse. And that was only 500 meters from the hotel. The food was first class, the service was quick and courteous and the prices were also moderate. An absolute recommendation from me. Because my veal wiener schnitzel was so good, I ate it twice. 👍👍👍

Delicious roast pork, is still available after the landlord (?) tells you/calls you!!! Instead, suckling pig, which was mixed and very clear, 2 dumplings 👌, cabbage (salad) not dressed very well, disgusting (also meant to point out that a quarter of a tomato decorated the cabbage, was probably the best thing about the salad because it was so shrinky) , Service was nice, but we won't be going there any time soon.

Nice, small restaurant with a small beer garden. Rather inconspicuous from the outside. Very nice service and super delicious food. Everything freshly prepared and nothing out of the box. Prices completely ok. For me it's an insider tip for anyone who wants to eat deliciously and relatively cheaply in Munich. Update 2024: Since we enjoyed it so much last time, we were guests in the Gotthard Garden again about 3 weeks ago. And what can I say: it was again excellent and extremely tasty. I think our waiter's name was Zoltan or Zoran and he is an absolute man of honor —> always friendly and with a nice saying on his lips. Great and keep it up - we'll definitely be back at some point!!

Super cozy restaurant with a beer garden and Bavarian cuisine. The house recommendation, the suckling pig knuckle was very tasty and the skin was crispy. There was also a homemade coleslaw, homemade dumplings and an ultra-tasty gravy. The service was very courteous and you felt very welcome. I found the price-performance ratio (main course €18.90) to be extremely good. Therefore, an absolute recommendation from me. As soon as I'm in the area again, I'll definitely come back.

As always, when you visit Munich Laim, you have to eat here! We asked for a little more dressing and were helped straight away. Sitting in the beer garden is really pleasant. The service is top, the food is plentiful, fresh and very tasty. We recommend. Probably a lot of regulars.

Always a great experience when you are in Munich. Great food, delicious cold drinks/beers. It's easy to get a table even without reserving, very well organized, you are welcomed and shown to your seat. Very nice Bavarian restaurant with an exceptional outdoor beer garden. Bavarian restaurant with beer garden. Parking can be found in the surrounding area. Better with public transport. The food is good. The Wiener Schnitzel didn't have the bubbles in the breading as you would expect. But it was good. I would have liked the fried potatoes to have more flavor. Overall it was okay and we would come here again if we are in the area.

Friendly staff Will definitely be back, definitely have to try the Kaiserschmarrn, it looked really awesome. Addendum: have been here for dinner several times over the last few months, always nice, friendly service and good food. We recently ordered onion meat for 20 people for a small private party. Everyone was very enthusiastic. Many thanks again to the kitchen team.

I followed the reviews again. It was probably nothing! Fresh Bavarian sausage salad. The bread has nothing to do with Bavarian, just dry. If there had been enough brew, the bread could have been soaked. The radishes were already brown when they arrived, even though the journey from the kitchen was short. Conclusion, 4.6 rating is too high here.

Classic Bavarian ambience, nice, fast service

Food was ok. Mine was a bit salty but my friend said it wasn't salty. Therefore a matter of taste. We ate outside and the atmosphere was very nice.

Very good restaurant, with very reasonable prices. I didn't need to book in advance but to be more sure there is a reservation service I recommend. Possibility of coming by transport easily with U5 or Tram not too far away. Special mention for groups with the specialty in XXL format dessert for 4/5 people.

Great neighborhood restaurant in Laim with a must-try XXL Kaiserschmarrn and excellent service. The menu is diverse, and everything we tried was very tasty. The veal slices in a creamy champignon sauce were delicious, and the handmade Spätzle (type of noodle) were the perfect accompaniment to soak up the sauce. The pikeperch filet was well-cooked, offering a great alternative to the otherwise meat heavy dishes. The XXL Kaiserschmarrn is the star of the show and well worth a visit on its own! It's massive, meant for 4-5 people to share, thick and fluffy with a perfectly caramelized exterior. Served warm with toasted almonds and raisins, it pairs beautifully with the cold apple sauce. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the neighbourhood!

Best restaurant for German food in Munich. We've been coming here regularly for years and NEVER go without Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. The 8 of us have already shared it. Very nice staff! There was great service even during Corona. Thanks to the team!!

Our last meal before leaving Europe and we were thrilled!! . We tried to order something different but still Bavarian, which are the potato with cheese (duh didnt remember the German name) and also the beef stew ahah . And the other one was the Nuremberg sausage (this one is pretty common and expected) . We got free salads as appetizers! . No need to describe the German beers tho . Danke schon!!

It's my favorite store and I always go there when I'm on business in Munich. It's very delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff are very nice. That's why it's always crowded. Schnitzel and Kaiserschmarren are especially recommended. The store clerk, who resembles Karen Takizawa, is very kind, amiable, and attentive.

I only stayed here for an afternoon while passing through and had nothing to complain about. A really nice guesthouse in a great, really incredibly impressive area. I can recommend it to everyone and am looking forward to taking a relaxing break here again.

We were very lucky on our trip to Munich: firstly, there were wonderful sunny days, and secondly, we found this chic, atmospheric Bavarian restaurant. We were moved to the outside tables without any questions, even though the seats were reserved. The chef himself came out to say goodbye to us as we left with full and full bellies. Small but nice beer garden in the Laim urban area. Well-stocked menu with good quality food and home-made dishes. Kaiserschmarrn is awesome and worth the wait. However, you should bring reinforcements with you, the portion is enough for dessert for 3-4 people. The Kasspatzn or the schnitzel variants are also recommended. Very friendly staff and good value for money. Located directly at the subway stop, parking possible on the side streets.

Everything is just right here. Super friendly and relaxed waiters. The food is homemade and you can taste it too. Absolute recommendation for the spaetzle, simply heavenly. If you need a “small” dessert, the Kaiserschmarrn is a good choice ;)

Wienerschnitzel was very tasty. Veal slices with spaetzle are also a culinary delight. You can tell that it was cooked with fresh ingredients. Hardly recommended :)

Gut bürgerliches Gasthaus mit guten Preisen und freundlicher Bedienung. Die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber trotzdem sehr sauber und ordentlich. Das Essen war gut. Komme gerne wieder, wenn ich wieder in München bin.
