Good restaurant with very tasty Bavarian food. The service was quick and also very friendly.

Restaurant serving traditional Bavarian cuisine near the Rotkreuzplatz metro station. The decor is quite typical for such restaurants in a classic style. We visited on Saturday morning, there were no problems with boarding, most of the seats were free. Something unusual is beer from the Ayinger brewery, which is a rarity in Munich, where establishments usually serve beer from more popular brands. The menu itself is not very large, but has a list of all the main dishes of Bavarian cuisine. We took obatsda, roast pork and duck. Everything was very tasty, large portions, with a side dish of dumplings, cabbage and gravy. The meat was fried to a golden crispy crust; I wanted to eat every dish to the last crumb. The downside is that the food took a relatively long time to arrive by Munich standards - usually the order is brought almost immediately, but here the food took about half an hour to arrive. The waitress was not very friendly, she spoke dryly when asked to round up the amount on the bill - she added about 15% to the bill. A little excessive for a completely ordinary service. There was also no liquid soap in the restroom.

Great Bavarian food outside of the tourist area. We had the roasted duck and it was very tasty, as well as the local desert with ice cream. The staff is very professional and we even got to talk with the chef who gave some great recommendations for what to do in the area. Highly recommend!

Food was a pleasure, service was friendly. In my opinion, this is where you get the best Kaiserschmarrn in the city. Roast pork is also highly recommended! It's a shame that the terrace hardly gets any sun.

Quaint restaurant with very fast, friendly service. But what I would come here for at any time: the liver Berlin style. So tender and fantastic in the sauce! Chapeau :) But the Carsar Salad and the Würschtlpfandl were also very good

The food at Ayinger on Rotkreuzplatz is really delicious – typically Bavarian and with high-quality ingredients. However, the prices are a bit higher. The rooms are very comfortable and invite you to linger, but it can get quite loud inside, especially when it is busy. All in all, a great address for a relaxed evening with good food!

Ein bayrisches Gasthaus, wie es sein soll. Der Koch setzt auf der traditionellen Speisekarte eigene tolle Akzente! Auch der Service stimmt und das Bier schmeckt nach wie vor wunderbar. Klare Empfehlung!

For us (as Bavarians) the Ayinger on Rotkreuzplatz is one of the best Bavarian restaurants in the city. All dishes are lovingly prepared and taste of the highest level. Best pork knuckle in town. The fries are also excellent. The service is always very friendly and accommodating. We'd love to come back!

This was our best meal in Munich! The Chef’s special touches to the freshly prepared Bavarian food took it to another level. Staff was super friendly and service was great! They also spoke English as well making ordering easy. Wine and beer were great too! Definitely recommend this place.

On 8/16, we arrived in Munich, and we came here for dinner. Such a quaint restaurant. Everyone was so nice, we even met the chef. ALL the food was delicious, so good we came back on Sunday before we left. Unfortunately the food was not as good. We had the same dishes minus the desserts we left so disappointed 😞 what a bummer!!!

The service is super attentive and the shop is very cozy! I'm very impressed with the kitchen, apparently the boss himself is behind the stove - it's hard to believe that there are still trained staff in Munich who love their job!!! I had the onion roast, perfect is almost an understatement! In the sauce, for example Do you taste every single ingredient - Mondamin nil.. Let's go and keep it up!!!

We went to watch the game Spain vs England in this Restaurant. We were 3 people, we ordered drinks that cost 20 euro and then we were thinking of Ordering Food, but a waiter decided to move us away, The reason was that more people are coming to eat food that there were actually 5 people. And it put us in a place where the view was very bad for the game. I don't understand how they can turn people away for no reason because the table was ours, there was no reservation. The staff of this restaurant are very bad and racist, it is desperate how something like this can happen in Bavaria, I am very disappointed, I will never visit this restaurant again. Because the staff is terrible

Very chicly furnished Bavarian inn with top cuisine. Only the service is a bit inattentive from time to time. A plus point is the large and seasonal beer selection, which is served in steins.

As soon as I sat down, the waitress came with cutlery. Very attentive. I'm a huge Caesars salad fan, I haven't eaten one as good as this in ages. Great dressing, extremely tasty, crispy breaded chicken, two very fresh baguette slices. Big compliment!👌 I could have done with a piece of chicken and a few more lettuce leaves.... 😊

In the late afternoon we stopped for two Radler Halbe in the beer garden; I received such friendly and attentive service again. A feel-good place around the corner at Rotkreuzplatz!

The service & food were amazing! The chef & “big boss” is an American from Maryland, & when the server told him that there were Americans here, he immediately came out. He explained the meal that was recommended, & just chatted. He came back after we finished to chat again, & let us know that the meat was all from a local butcher. We highly recommend this place!

Greetings to the male waiter who brought the dessert from our orders to the table at the same time as the meal and did not find a solution for the ice cream melting there. Best roast pork in all of Munich! Drinkable, delicious wheat beer and a host who cares about his guests with a lot of passion! We'll definitely be back soon.

Authentic Bavarian cuisine and usually quick service.

We were able to celebrate our wedding here in a small circle and we couldn't be happier! The food is sensational, the service is really great and it's the little details that make Ayinger at Rotkreuzplatz something special. Thank you for this great afternoon with you! Excellent food with quality products. The good execution of cooking techniques is reflected in each of their dishes. To finish the meal, we ordered a spectacular homemade Kaiserschmarrn and enjoyed the good variety of Schnaps there. Very good and professional service. We went with children and babies and everything was very welcoming. There are large tables that can fit up to 10 people.

Like all Ayinger, this is a very good restaurant with both good food and friendly service.

Fantastic, authentic Bavarian cuisine, in a charming, friendly environment. We actually went back two days in a row in order to try more new dishes! Can’t go wrong with any of their Bratwurst or sausage options, and of course the WeinerSchnitzel!

Large prices cause large portions. We went during off peak so few staff but he made the effort in his local outfit/costume which we did appreciate.

Traditionally furnished inn. With a small but very beautiful garden. Good (not exaggerated) selection of dishes, something for everyone and everything tastes really good.

Friendly staff who had knowledge about the food and beers. We arrived as they were opening and the chef explained the specials to us and his passion for food was clear to see. Food was excellent, everything tasted great with an extra touch that only a chef who cares about his food would have. It’s the white asparagus season now the execution was flawless. The front of house was friendly and patient as well, explaining how the Weiss Beer and seasonal Spring beer was brewed and how it was different. Too bad we had not enough space to try more regional food at Ayinger am Rotkreuzplatz. Everyone spoke excellent English and English menus are available.

Ehrliche herausragende Küche ohne Schnick Schnack. Geschmacklich herausragend war das Schnitzel Jagerart mit Spätzle in Wirtsstubenatmosphäre. Der herausragende Geschmack war am nächsten Tag noch echt bei uns ein Thema. Wenn wir in München sind kommen wir aber sowas von wieder. Sehr freundlich und super nett.

Honest, outstanding cuisine without any frills. The Jagerart schnitzel with spaetzle in a pub atmosphere was outstanding in terms of taste. The outstanding taste was still an issue for us the next day. When we're in Munich we'll definitely be back. Very friendly and super nice.

This restaurant is truly a place for the guest. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. The food is typical Bavarian cuisine and tastes excellent. We got a place in the large beer garden in front of the restaurant. The weather cooperated well. It's a very nice atmosphere and it's fun to eat and drink here. The food is simply excellent We will come back.

Addendum: The innkeeper is probably very bad at dealing with constructive criticism (after all, I gave it three stars and not zero), he "simply" had my review deleted :-).....in the meantime the prices have been raised significantly again ( almost outrageous) and the portions were reduced :-(..... our neighbors invited us to eat there two weeks ago. Unfortunately, the friendly waitresses are all gone. Actually, two stars would be the order of the day! Original post: Went there to eat several times last year - service and quality were always perfect. Unfortunately (probably due to Corona) the menu was extremely reduced and the prices increased significantly. On the one hand it's understandable, but on the other hand there are now only about ten main dishes, including the "beloved" schnitzel - but only the original veal (which is almost impossible for a family with children) for 22 EUR plus possibly a side salad for others 5 EUR. The Ayinger's original motto was "a real inn where people should sit together - play cards and play music". Unfortunately there isn't much left of it! It's a shame, because at the beginning there were also regulars from the surrounding restaurants. It would be nice if this could be “lived” and implemented again. Personally, I also find it a bit of a shame that the landlord gives a review of an adjacent restaurant (with only one star - but without mentioning the points of criticism) - a bit unsporting, right? We would be very happy to sit in the "old" Ayinger again soon and have the fun we had there last year, because as described above: the service and quality were very good!
