I really enjoyed the traditional Bavarian dishes. The Kaiserschmarrn was the best I've tasted.

On 8/16, we arrived in Munich, and we came here for dinner. Such a quaint restaurant. Everyone was so nice, we even met the chef. ALL the food was delicious, so good we came back on Sunday before we left. Unfortunately the food was not as good. We had the same dishes minus the desserts we left so disappointed 😞 what a bummer!!!

The service is super attentive and the shop is very cozy! I'm very impressed with the kitchen, apparently the boss himself is behind the stove - it's hard to believe that there are still trained staff in Munich who love their job!!! I had the onion roast, perfect is almost an understatement! In the sauce, for example Do you taste every single ingredient - Mondamin nil.. Let's go and keep it up!!!

We went to watch the game Spain vs England in this Restaurant. We were 3 people, we ordered drinks that cost 20 euro and then we were thinking of Ordering Food, but a waiter decided to move us away, The reason was that more people are coming to eat food that there were actually 5 people. And it put us in a place where the view was very bad for the game. I don't understand how they can turn people away for no reason because the table was ours, there was no reservation. The staff of this restaurant are very bad and racist, it is desperate how something like this can happen in Bavaria, I am very disappointed, I will never visit this restaurant again. Because the staff is terrible

Very chicly furnished Bavarian inn with top cuisine. Only the service is a bit inattentive from time to time. A plus point is the large and seasonal beer selection, which is served in steins.

As soon as I sat down, the waitress came with cutlery. Very attentive. I'm a huge Caesars salad fan, I haven't eaten one as good as this in ages. Great dressing, extremely tasty, crispy breaded chicken, two very fresh baguette slices. Big compliment!👌 I could have done with a piece of chicken and a few more lettuce leaves.... 😊

The service & food were amazing! The chef & “big boss” is an American from Maryland, & when the server told him that there were Americans here, he immediately came out. He explained the meal that was recommended, & just chatted. He came back after we finished to chat again, & let us know that the meat was all from a local butcher. We highly recommend this place!

Best roast pork in all of Munich! Drinkable, delicious wheat beer and a host who cares about his guests with a lot of passion! We'll definitely be back soon.

Excellent food with quality products. The good execution of cooking techniques is reflected in each of their dishes. To finish the meal, we ordered a spectacular homemade Kaiserschmarrn and enjoyed the good variety of Schnaps there. Very good and professional service. We went with children and babies and everything was very welcoming. There are large tables that can fit up to 10 people.

Large prices cause large portions. We went during off peak so few staff but he made the effort in his local outfit/costume which we did appreciate.

Traditionally furnished inn. With a small but very beautiful garden. Good (not exaggerated) selection of dishes, something for everyone and everything tastes really good.

Friendly staff who had knowledge about the food and beers. We arrived as they were opening and the chef explained the specials to us and his passion for food was clear to see. Food was excellent, everything tasted great with an extra touch that only a chef who cares about his food would have. It’s the white asparagus season now the execution was flawless. The front of house was friendly and patient as well, explaining how the Weiss Beer and seasonal Spring beer was brewed and how it was different. Too bad we had not enough space to try more regional food at Ayinger am Rotkreuzplatz. Everyone spoke excellent English and English menus are available.

Ehrliche herausragende Küche ohne Schnick Schnack. Geschmacklich herausragend war das Schnitzel Jagerart mit Spätzle in Wirtsstubenatmosphäre. Der herausragende Geschmack war am nächsten Tag noch echt bei uns ein Thema. Wenn wir in München sind kommen wir aber sowas von wieder. Sehr freundlich und super nett.

Honest, outstanding cuisine without any frills. The Jagerart schnitzel with spaetzle in a pub atmosphere was outstanding in terms of taste. The outstanding taste was still an issue for us the next day. When we're in Munich we'll definitely be back. Very friendly and super nice.

Addendum: The innkeeper is probably very bad at dealing with constructive criticism (after all, I gave it three stars and not zero), he "simply" had my review deleted :-).....in the meantime the prices have been raised significantly again ( almost outrageous) and the portions were reduced :-(..... our neighbors invited us to eat there two weeks ago. Unfortunately, the friendly waitresses are all gone. Actually, two stars would be the order of the day! Original post: Went there to eat several times last year - service and quality were always perfect. Unfortunately (probably due to Corona) the menu was extremely reduced and the prices increased significantly. On the one hand it's understandable, but on the other hand there are now only about ten main dishes, including the "beloved" schnitzel - but only the original veal (which is almost impossible for a family with children) for 22 EUR plus possibly a side salad for others 5 EUR. The Ayinger's original motto was "a real inn where people should sit together - play cards and play music". Unfortunately there isn't much left of it! It's a shame, because at the beginning there were also regulars from the surrounding restaurants. It would be nice if this could be “lived” and implemented again. Personally, I also find it a bit of a shame that the landlord gives a review of an adjacent restaurant (with only one star - but without mentioning the points of criticism) - a bit unsporting, right? We would be very happy to sit in the "old" Ayinger again soon and have the fun we had there last year, because as described above: the service and quality were very good!

This restaurant is truly a place for the guest. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. The food is typical Bavarian cuisine and tastes excellent. We got a place in the large beer garden in front of the restaurant. The weather cooperated well. It's a very nice atmosphere and it's fun to eat and drink here. The food is simply excellent We will come back.

Without wanting to exaggerate, it's probably one of the best Bavarian restaurants I've been to in a long time. I just happened to drop by after a bank appointment and therefore had absolutely zero expectations. Very cozy & Bavarian atmosphere, friendly, educated & courteous service, and the cuisine - almost without words: Extremely delicious, fresh and diversely prepared dishes. Great, international kitchen team 😁 And no, in this case I am from the house itself and yes, I also come from a good Bavarian, gastronomic family. I gave the guys in the kitchen a round of cuts, kudos to the team - please keep it up 👏🏼

We were a group of five and got a place for dinner even without a reservation. The vegan schnitzel was an 8/10 😉 The beer was a 10/10 😍 So gladly again!

Very good discovery! The ambience is traditional Bavarian and you feel at home at the table in the kitchen :-) We tried the dishes from the daily menu. The rice with pumpkin, served with salmon - simply a dream! The cherry on the cake was the smell combination with lemon sauce. Really 😋 delicious. We'll come back safely.

A Bavarian economy as it should be. Tradition, simple, limited to the essentials. A piece of Munich tavern culture, beer from a wooden barrel. Anyone who just wants to have a beer and read the daily newspaper is also welcome here! Not the Augustinian scene hype, but Ayinger cosiness! The best thing is, there are NO fancy things like bacon and cheese burgers and salad and lentil bowls, but rather traditional meals that were on the menu 50 years ago. And back then it already had good vegetarian and vegan dishes to offer.

Ich bin wirklich sehr gerne und in der Vergangenheit auch sehr häufig im Ayinger gewesen. Das Essen ist immer lecker und die Bedienung freundlich. Mach dem Personalwechsel vor einigen Monaten ist es zwar etwas ruhiger und zurückhaltender geworden, aber eher anders als schlechter. Leider sind in den letzten Monaten so enorm die Preise angezogen worden, dass mittlerweile bei mir eine Grenze überschritten ist und ich nicht mehr bereit bin die Preise zu zahlen, was ich sehr schade finde. 25€ (inkl. Trinkgeld) für einen zwar leckeren, aber nur mittelgroßen Salat mit ein paar Bröckchen Ziegenkäse, extra Hähnchen (+5€) und Apfelsaftschorle ist einfach zu viel. Das hat früher keine 15€ gekostet. Und weder früher noch heute sprechen wir von Bioqualität oder enorm hochpreisigen Produkten, die diesen Preisunterschied ggf. erklären würden. Ich arbeite selbst für ein Gastrokonzept und weiß, wie stark die Preise überall gestiegen sind. Aber wenn die Preise irgendwann so hoch sind oder man so stark an den Produkten spart, Portionen kleiner macht etc., dass die Gäste nicht mehr kommen, dann wird man das Restaurant auch nicht halten können. Auch wenn ich das dem Ayinger definitiv nicht wünsche. Ich hoffe die Karte wird trotz MwSt Erhöhung nicht noch teurer, sondern eher wieder ein bisschen günstiger.

Leckeres Essen zu sehr leckerem Bier. Wir waren früh da, somit war der Geräuschpegel absolut ok und wir konnten uns in Ruhe unterhalten.

Honestly one of the best Bavarian restaurants I've been to. During our time in Munich my wife and I ate here several times and each time the food was really good. My wife had the leberknoedel soup and really enjoyed the rich broth and large leberknoedel. I had both the taffelspitz and the steak frites. Both were cooked to perfection and very flavorful. The chef has put a bit of a modern twist on Bavarian staples and has really put in the effort to ensure the meals will not disappoint. For a dessert, the kaiserschmarn is the best I have ever had. The crust has been caramelized and it is served with homemade vanilla ice cream and apricot compote. The atmosphere is that of a laid back Wirtshaus and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are average for the area. Make sure to make a reservation or you will probably not get a table.

Typisch bayrisches Lokal. Klassische Speisen. Super Bierauswahl

Das Ayinger ist auf den ersten Blick eine super Adresse zum Feiern und essen. Das Essen war super. Und die weibliche Bedienung top. Was mich gestört hat: der Nachtisch wurde auf den Tisch gehämmert. Es ist halt laut, sehr laut, und da kriegt man nicht sofort mit wenn einer was geliefert bekommt. Zumal der Mann dann den Nachtisch an den falschen Platz hingehämmert hat. Die Preise für die Fässer Bier finde ich übertrieben. Zumal das Bier aus der Zapfanlage sogar besser schmeckt. Die Waschräume sind recht eng und es gibt nur 1 Klo bei den Männern. Gegen 22 Uhr oder so ist dann auch langsam Schicht im Schacht und es ist Bestellschluss. Ob das an den Nachbarn der Gaststätte, der Stadt München oder der Gaststätte selbst liegt weiß ich nicht. Das war aber für mich kein Beinbruch, man sollte es halt nur vorher wissen. Ein anderer Fakt: das Essen schmeckt echt super lecker, aber ich fand es für meine Begriffe kein ausgewogenes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Ambiente? Ich habe hier den USP sehr vermisst. Ich habe keine Musik wahrgenommen. Es war eher ein Tohuwabohu von lautstarken Unterhaltungen. Alles in Summe: Ayinger kann man machen, man sollte halt nur wissen worauf man sich einlässt. Ich für mein Niveau fand einige Sachen nicht so knorke. Daher fällt es mir schwer hier 4 oder 5 Sterne zu vergeben.

We've been to the Ayinger am Rotkreuzplatz several times now and have had really experiences each time. The food is some of the best Bavarian food my wife and I have had. The service is very attentive and friendly. The chef actually goes out to see how the customers react to the cuisine which is something I have very rarely seen in Munich. Ayinger has a complete menu with vegan/vegetarian options with a weekly menu that holds a few surprises like steak fritte. The dishes I have tried like taffelspitz and steak fritte were excellent in taste and plating. My wife really enjoyed her leberknoedel soup and the salad she tried. I cannot believe the quality of the food especially considering the price was comparable to other restaurants nearby serving similar menus. Most of the food is locally sourced and I didn't notice any premade or processed foods. For a traditional Bavarian restaurant with a modern twist, I highly recommend the Ayinger.

Der Koch und sein Team sind einfach richtig toll!!! Es schmeckt sehr sehr gut und ist ansprechend angerichtet 👍👍 Sehr vorbildlich ist das Recup/Rebowl System wenn man zum abholen bestellt! Man kann sich dort auch wohlfühlen, wenn man mal alleine essen gehen möchte.

Herausragende bayrische Küche mit freundlichen Service. Nur die Portionen waren etwas kleiner als beim letzen Besuch, was sehr schade ist – da sehr lecker.

Einfach ein Restaurant wo man sich von Anfang bis Ende wohl fühlt und die Speisen einfach großartig sind! Wir kommen immer gern!
