Wirtshaus Eder in München

We visited the restaurant in December 2024. The food was really tasty, but unfortunately the service was very disappointing. After dinner we ordered two more beers, reminded the waiter once, but ended up waiting for half an hour in vain and then left. Although the restaurant is very small, our table was unfortunately ignored

Great service, friendly and accommodating and really delicious food. There is a real Bavarian atmosphere in the interior as well as on the terrace. Before I took the photo, I just had to try it. The spinach cheese spaetzle and salad were more than successful! With that in mind, see you next time. I'd love to come back :)

Decent economy! The boss just can't be bothered. Scheffe serves an apple spritzer in a good mood 😉 and I always feel very comfortable here. (Sometimes the Tilman also sits at the counter.)

We had reserved a table to eat but were given one at the bar that didn't suit us. We then got another table which was re-ordered at 7:45 p.m. But the food was great.

The service was perfect, the food nice. It was our first time trying Bavarian food and we really enjoyed it!

If there is more choice for people who have gluten intolerance, it would be given the full 5 stars. For everyone else: It's delicious here, there's a super friendly team serving you and the price is right too. It's better to reserve in advance.

Excellent food as you would expect here, the rest takes some getting used to. Perhaps inspired by the name, we expected dirndl service over 50 with wood in front of the hut and a greeting. Instead, girls in jeans who whistle “Helloooo” at you and use the first name of the guests????? The table we reserved weeks ago turned out to be a climbing pole behind the counter, so I switched to a table reserved for others, so I ate in piecemeal, drank 5 fewer beers, bad luck!

Rarely have I had such a good roast pork. Plus a good beer. Worlds better than at the Hofbräuhaus. Nice little inn. Unfortunately the Pumuckl wasn't there today.

There were four of us in the pub, three of us had the worst, and all three had massive gastrointestinal problems after an hour. Never again

Very tasty beer combined with delicious food. The food menu offers light AND “heavy” food. Tilmanns Hell is a very good beer choice if you also like pale ale. The 2nd tap also has changing beers on tap, for me the Jakobator from the Munich Research Brewery.

Great food, very good and friendly service. The kitchen was open longer especially for us and the service staff also stayed longer. We were very happy about sharing schnapps with the service and the good atmosphere. The food was excellent and the beers were excellent. Highly recommended!

Typical Bavarian restaurant. Very cozy and lovingly furnished. The service was attentive and very friendly to us. I would have spinach spaetzle. Portions are sufficient and tasty. Unfortunately, the fried onions didn't seem homemade but rather bought, which for me is not possible with spaetzle. Otherwise very tasty - also the salad.

In terms of appearance, it's a classic Bavarian tavern. The selection of excellent beers is remarkable (e.g. Tilmans light and dark from the tap; Hopf from the bottle) even the non-alcoholic hop chopper “Easy Rider” was delicious. The service was quick and friendly. First of all, we had Obazda with red onions and crusty bread and I would have it again just for the bread. The Obazda was light and not as sour as usual - for me the best Obazda I have ever eaten. The braised ox cheeks with mashed potatoes and carrot vegetables was really good but the roast pork from straw pigs with bread or potato dumplings and coleslaw was by no means worse. On the daily menu there were great venison sausages with great red cabbage (or red cabbage as they call it) but whatever it was, it was absolutely delicious All in all a great evening with delicious food at reasonable prices - again at any time!!

A cozy Bavarian Wirtshaus offering delicious, hearty food with a concise, meat-heavy menu complemented by 2-3 vegetarian options and a fish dish. The Fleischpflanzerl were juicy and perfectly seasoned. The pretzel dumpling had a great consistency and was ideal for soaking up the creamy mushroom sauce it was paired with. The standout dish was the fire-smoked salmon, which had a rich smoky aroma and warm, earthy flavors - truly memorable. The restaurant was bustling and fully booked, and unfortunately the service didn't seem quite able to cope. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive despite being asked for our order multiple times by different servers. The food, though, was served promptly after ordering. Overall, a great spot for authentic Bavarian cuisine, but be prepared for a potential wait during busy times.

Friends make everything better. What a comfortable restaurant serving up amazing food. Their beer offering is unique and so tasty. A great mix of traditional Bavarian favorites with enough character to have this place stand out.

I arrived shortly after opening with no reservation and sat at the bar. The Ochsenbacken (ox cheek) was delicious, and so was the beer!

If I lived in the Westend, this would be my favorite bar. Tradition served up young. Best of all, several types of beer to choose from.

Food very good, opinion of the whole group. What was positive was the pleasant noise level. It was easy to have a conversation, which is not always the case in Bavarian businesses.

Good economy with nice service. When I visit a Bavarian restaurant for the first time, I always order the roast pork. The service was quick and attentive, the meat was tender and both the crust and the potato dumplings were very good. The sauce could be spicier and thicker. So much for food. It should be emphasized that they always have changing beers on tap. I like that kind of thing.

Friendly inn in Munich Laim. I got a seat at the counter without a reservation; the inn was very busy on Wednesday during the week. My Bavarian Kröstel was good and the beer was very good. Very friendly team!

Went to the Eder Wirtshaus in Westend for the first time yesterday. I'm thrilled. Modern interpretation of a Bavarian inn. Clear menu, good food, nice service and - very surprisingly - a very international audience. For people from Munich it's more of an insider tip, but it probably has a good reputation internationally - rightly so ;-)

The food was phenomenal! Started with beef broth with roasted cheese and bread with bacon and horseradish. Both spot on with balance of flavor, nothing overpowering. Entrees were spinach spatzle and roast beef with potatoes gratin. Both were exceptional. So much so that I kissed the chef on the way out. Jan was a superb server and we enjoyed his conversation while taking care of us. Got in about 1830 and soon the place was full. Disregard the online reservations that claim nothing available until certain times, those apps really have no idea. Do not miss out on great meals like ours because of an app....

We easily got a table on Friday evening without a reservation, which was clearly due to the goodwill of the staff, because it was very full. The staff is very friendly without being intrusive. Unfortunately it was very loud and the tables for two were a bit too narrow for my taste. We both had the beef goulash with bread dumplings. That tasted good.

Lovely Wirsthaus slightly further out of the city centre but worth the trip. Our server was really nice. Would definitely recommend a visit. Even though it was midweek, the restaurant was busy with other diners, providing a lovely atmosphere in the outdoor terrace.

Gasthaus Eder is a great address in Munich to enjoy traditional cuisine with a slightly modern touch. Good food, very nice service and a nice afternoon with my family.

The roast pork with potato dumplings and cabbage is top class! Tender, crusty, big soft dumpling, great sauce. Rarely have I eaten so well. Actually never 🤪 And: friendly service, friendly atmosphere. We'll be back to discover more.

Very good selection of different dishes from Bavarian cuisine 👌🏼 The meatballs were plentiful and tasted very good. There are enough seats in the dining room with wooden furniture, but on some days it may be advisable to reserve in advance🍀 Very friendly staff and fast service ☀️

Rustic yet modernly furnished inn with traditional Bavarian dishes. Roast pork was very good, crust was crispy. Enough sauce and big dumpling. Overall very good value for money. Service very friendly.

We ate here while on vacation and absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious. It was located in a quiet side street, and they have beautiful outdoor patio seating. We would highly recommend this place to others!

Great food and service! I liked that the restaurant wasn't overcrowded with tourists. It's a bit hidden in a residential area. We were able to sit outside when the weather was good. I had Obazda as a starter and then the Käsespätzle. The portion looks small in the photos. But that's deceptive, the plates are just big. The spaetzle also came with a side salad. :)

Great food, great service and very nice service. Unfortunately, it couldn't really be explained why children's chairs are only available on Sundays. There may be reasons, but they need to be communicated better.

This inn is just a disgrace!!! We reserved a table by phone some time ago. When we got there yesterday, we were told that they had a closed company and therefore our reservation was no longer valid. However, since we hadn't been canceled, they would serve us outside. Since it was just before a rain shower, we politely declined. We definitely won't be coming back!

Greatly renovated inn, with an extremely friendly persona and great beer (Schönramer Hell), which you can't find everywhere. The food was also really tasty and plentiful. If you are looking for an alternative location next to the younger (well booked) and newly furnished inns (e.g. Xavers, ...), you will absolutely find it here!

Spontaneous find, would probably generally recommend reserving but we got a table without wait. The food was exactly what we were hoping for and the place looks really nice. Two very young servers who did their job well. LGBTQ+ friendly.

I was kidnapped here by my family on Mother's Day and was skeptical when we got here. When I took a look at the menu I was surprised that there wasn't the typical tavern food here. So if you end up here you have to try the absolutely delicious salmon. The other dishes (Kaspressknödel, Spinachkässpatzn and the Gröstl) were also excellent. But despite its flaws, I will still consider visiting this restaurant many times because the taste and value for money are both good and worth visiting again and again. Standard German flavors, generous portions, a paradise for meat lovers, with warm and friendly service. One drawback is, like many restaurants in Munich, the space is too small and crowded. Secondly, the décor resembles a restroom, lacking a bit in warmth . The restaurant also does not offer a wide selection of wines, making it less suitable for a romantic date. Despite these minor flaws, I would still consider visiting this restaurant multiple times, as the taste and value for money are commendable and worth revisiting.
