Wirtshaus Strasser in Gersthofen

You can go there, but you don't have to! The main course was a cordon bleu from the deep fryer, which didn't look like it was freshly prepared (it was more reminiscent of a frozen product). A side dish was forgotten and the only information that came up was that the service had probably forgotten. Nothing more was offered. For dessert there was a Kaiserschmarrn, which wasn't convincing either because it wasn't warm and also looked like it had come from the freezer. When I was told that it didn't taste that good, it was passed on. Here you could have offered a little something. The only thing that was convincing was the side salad. The rest still has room for improvement!

Doesn't look bad. But you can't get in here without a reservation. It's a shame actually.

Something has been going on at Strasser in Gersthofen for some time now. Varied music program, very nice service, the food is great and the wines are great too. Good cuisine at a high level and a nice ambience. This way you can spend very relaxing sunny afternoons/evenings.

The food is really delicious and we made a short-term reservation in the afternoon and got a table for two people at 7:30 p.m. We were told that the kitchen closes at 9 p.m. It's all ok. But I find it more than questionable that the payment was made at 9:15 p.m. with the comment that the boss wanted them to finish work on time I hope the staff doesn't go shopping anywhere after 7:15 p.m. so that the retail staff can get off work on time By the way, the Strasser pub closes at 10 p.m. and the lights went out at 9:50 p.m....more than on time

We were there today, October 22nd. on site at 6:30 p.m. and asked for a table for 2 people. Although 3 tables were free and without a reservation sign, the waitress said as she walked past that she had no room today. This behavior is incomprehensible!

All tables occupied on Sunday lunchtime. Service friendly and quick. The waiting time for the food was absolutely reasonable considering the freshly prepared, beautifully presented dishes. Cordon bleu, Kässpatzn, duck, chicken slices and vegetable strudel made everyone very happy.

Wochenlang vorreserviert und dann einen Tisch am Stützpfosten zugewiesen bekommen, auch mit der Aufforderung uns einen anderen Tisch zu geben, nicht möglich, alles sei schon reserviert, lt. der jungen Angestellten. Der Nachbartisch zahlte und es wurde sofort wieder eingedeckt und Gäste zugewiesen. Unser 2. Tisch am Pfosten blieb dennoch frei, obwohl man die neuen Gäste auch dort hätte unterbringen können. Im übrigen, das Essen war nur lauwarm und die Bratensoße schmeckte nach Fertiggericht.

Wir sind eine größere Gruppe gewesen. Der Empfang war freundlich und der Service insgesamt auch gut. Das essen ist deutlich verbesserungsfähig. Vorspeise war noch sehr gut, der Hauptgang, bei mir eine Rindsroulade ist eine Enttäuschung gewesen. Sehr trocken, Blaukraut sehr wahrscheinlich aus der Dose. Die ersten Teller sind bereits seit einigen Minuten leer gewesen bis die letzten Gäste ihre Teller erst bekommen haben. Schlechtes Timing. Der Nachtisch war ok, allerdings wohl auch eher aus der Dose bzw. Glas. Die Preise für das Essen liegen im normalen Durchschnitt, für das angebotene aber etwas zu teuer. Getränkepreise sind recht hoch.

After we saw how positively everything was rated on a TV show, we finally wanted to try out the Strasser. Unfortunately, our three dishes were a disappointment. The cheese sparrows were ordinary, the liver was good but nothing special. What was a bit cheeky, however, was the main course salad with chicken breast (that's what it says on the menu!) When I asked whether the salad only consisted of leaf lettuce or, for example, also included carrot salad, potato salad, coleslaw, bean salad, it was emphasized that it was a large mixed salad everything! I got a handful of mixed leaf lettuce with a halved cocktail tomato, a little grated carrots and sprouts on top. The chicken breasts were 5 very dry unseasoned strips! Unfortunately there was no bread. The salad dressing couldn't be tasted, which didn't get any better after it was mixed together. Since there was no salt, pepper, oil or vinegar on the table, I asked the server for extra salad dressing. When the waitress asked whether I had already mixed the salad, I answered yes. The reaction to my answer wasn't very friendly when looks could kill. But I was promptly given a little extra dressing, and when I tried it I discovered that it only had a very small amount of spices and balsamic, but there was enough water!! Since I didn't want to bother the waitress again, I didn't ask for salt, pepper, vinegar and oil. As a former caterer (kitchen, service and boss), I cannot understand why when a guest orders a salad that salt, pepper, etc. is not automatically brought to the table, all three of us were also surprised that there was no bread with it! Now we have tried the Strasser and will not “test” it a second time. We had already seen the many good reviews in advance and did not expect such disappointment.

Went there this evening on the way home from LEGOLAND. Spontaneously left the motorway, landed in Gersthofen and saw this really nice inn while driving past. A really beautiful beer garden on the town square and the inside of the restaurant was perfectly decorated in my opinion. The service was super friendly (we negotiated a little Lego ice cream deal with the boss ;)) and the food: excellent! A huge compliment goes out to the kitchen! The ox cheeks are a poem, the sauce is incredibly good (spooned and not licked)!!! Robber's plate for the son, who spontaneously ate half a portion of his mother's schnitzel because he liked it so much. Prices absolutely reasonable and at the end a great Dinzler espresso. This is how quality and hospitality works! Definitely coming back! P.S: No photos taken! I prefer to eat before I worry about the perfect picture...

A sobering evening. Ordered crusted roast where the unseasoned sauce was poured over the crust. The same for 3 people. Coleslaw 2 spoons. Reason: we throw away too much. Please advise that you could have a little more. Since we knew this, we specified it when ordering. Charged 4.10 for 2 more spoons. ?! The cost of goods here is manageable for non-restaurateurs. Also interesting that the service staff first had to ask whether the 2 spoon addition was even possible. The dumplings, like rubber, are of course made early. Also works better. The restaurant can be happy to have a USP at this location. If it were in a larger city like Munich, it would go down without a hitch. The prices are too high for the quantity of the plate. Has nothing to do with a tavern. The menu would like to be upscale, the quality is manageable. If you want to eat a sausage salad, you should eat it beforehand. (Consumption of goods? - Price?) More appearance than reality. Restaurant manager is unfriendly and seems overwhelmed and brings out the wrong food. Luckily we had a great, friendly, competent service person. Best beer garden weather. There was also a lot of crowds outside. After selecting the spot, we were informed at around 2:15 p.m. that the kitchen would be closed from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. There wasn't even anything cold on offer - as is usual in a beer garden. It's bad if you can't or don't even want to take the beer garden business with you depending on the situation. It won't be long until the next tenant change.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was good and the service was very friendly. We are happy to recommend the restaurant and look forward to our next visit.

The staff is friendly. The location is top. We sat in the beer garden when the weather was nice and ordered a sausage salad and a salad with chicken strips. After 40 minutes we were informed that there were problems with the chicken salad. People who sat down after us had now received their hot meal. Unfortunately, when the salads were finally served, there was great disappointment. The sausage salad was OK (basic), but the chicken salad was outrageous. It wasn't a starter salad, but a main course salad. It consisted of a cherry tomato halved, 5 slices of cucumber, a small handful of lettuce and a few dry chicken strips with 0-8-15 yogurt dressing for almost 19,- 🤔 It was nicely prepared. But in my opinion completely overpriced and not really recommended. Salads in other restaurants in the city are worlds apart. The drink position was also misunderstood. Well, it can happen. I don't want to go there anymore.

We spontaneously came here for dinner and didn't regret it - on the contrary! Even though we hadn't made a reservation, we still got a table in the beer garden. The very attentive service immediately took our drinks and our food order. Drinks came shortly afterwards, the food not much later. It was a pleasure! We can only recommend the beef ragout with chanterelles and linguine as well as the cordon bleu! We'll definitely be happy to come back!

Eat good. Service very friendly!! Unfortunately there is no possibility to charge an e-bike. If this had been possible I would have given the service 5 stars. We asked whether we could plug our battery and charger into a socket in the inn during our stay, as the battery was only enough for a maximum of 8 km. The answer: unfortunately it is not possible! I would have been happy to pay the electricity costs, which were well under 10 cents, through a tip.

Yesterday wasn't my first time in this inn. It's always been good so far, but yesterday my dish was disappointing. I had a cordon bleu which was very hard and dark and had a rectangular shape. The “cheese” didn’t taste like cheese and came out liquid (watery) when cut. Unfortunately, the cranberries weren't on the plate either. I know freshly made schnitzel and cordon bleu from Austria and they are pounded thin, freshly breaded and fried until floating. As a side dish I had fries that were neither seasoned nor salted. My husband had salmon fillet with vegetables and he thought it was good.

Great traditional restaurant and a landmark of Gersthofen paired with modern style and charm. The house has tradition and a long history, the restaurant is divided into a very attractive open dining area and a cozy lounge, both with a very attractive ambience. The staff is young, quick, relaxed and friendly. The food is traditionally local, very tasty and of good quality, meat and meat-free dishes are delicious and side dishes are also on point. Portions are decent for my taste and neither too much nor too little. Waiting time is absolutely ok. Price/performance ratio is great, not cheap but not too expensive either, what you get for your money is worth it. Reservations are recommended, which only speaks for the good demand. I still enjoy coming here again and again with both family and guests!

We visited Wirtshaus Strasser spontaneously after searching for restaurants online because we were on vacation in the area and didn't know the area. No sooner said than done, we were lucky to get a table because we hadn't made a reservation. The first thing we noticed was the great, sophisticated ambience, very modern and upscale, which made a great impression. We then found out from the menu that the program “My Local, Your Local” was filmed there, because you could still order the menu that was cooked on the day of filming. We had schnitzel, roulades and sliced ​​meat and were really impressed. It came beautifully presented on great platters, looked great and importantly, it tasted great. The service is very friendly and quick. There is also a great play area for little kids who quickly get bored. We were very enthusiastic and satisfied and can definitely recommend the Wirtshaus Strasser.

Located in the heart of Gersthofen but unfortunately not everything is perfect. It's not possible without a reservation. The place wasn't full and we still waited over 40 minutes for the food for crusty roast and cordon blue. As a side dish there are cranberries - unfortunately from the bag. Unfortunately, not everyone has the same level of cleanliness there. On Sunday evening, the cellar would rather kick the fries from the floor under the next table than simply pick them up. The colleague only temporarily wipes the cleared tables, including the remaining place settings, because the surrounding free tables, including our table, all still had stains. The food is good but there is still plenty of potential for improvement.

We arrived at the inn with great joy and were looking forward to a nice meal. From then on it went downhill. The order was taken very quickly but then the wait begins. From the time we ordered we (8 people) had to wait 1.5 hours. When we asked the staff the reason was because one person wanted soup, everyone else had to wait longer. Neither from the staff nor after we asked to speak to the boss, no apology and the boss didn't want to come and sent the staff to me. It's sad that the boss didn't come to us after we asked. Da alcuni anni ben ristrutturato, ora elegante e ben arredato, si trova al centro del paese. Cucina tipicamente tedesca, buona e servita con cura. Media varietà di proposte, prezzi in linea con quanto sopra esposto. Consigliato anche perché vicino ai principali hotel della zona. Nota per gli italiani: evitate di andare a mangiare in pessimi ristoranti pseudo "italiani" della zona.

The beautiful inn is located right in the heart of Gersthofen and is connected to a parking garage. This means you can get to the table dry even in bad weather. The beer garden is just as inviting in summer as the beautifully furnished interior area all year round. The staff is very friendly and attentive. My absolute recommendation is “the Strasser” and the Kaiserschmarren. Always happy to come here :-)
