Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. I ordered the Maultaschen (Swabian ravioli) with chanterelles from the daily specials menu. The Maultaschen arrived covered in a brownish flour paste in which you could barely make out 10g of chanterelles. Practically inedible; fresh and modern cuisine should look very different. The service was attentive, and the beer was good. But I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

I often come here with friends and it's always lovely; everything is just right. The food is always delicious and enjoyable, and I also appreciate the service.

I had a pub-style burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were unfortunately cold, the burger was okay, but nothing special. To be honest, for €20 I expected more – you can get a better burger at Pops for €10.

i ate at this restaurant during my school trip and it was terrible !!! me and my class ordered a salad , it was a bit fade also we ordered a pasta meal and how to describe it : IT WAS TERRIFYING, how can someone fail to make good pasta, it smelled like molten shoes !!! I ordered a mojito and i waited 15 minutes ! just for one glass ! also drinking water was frobidden, we were not allowed to bring water with us and we're forced to pay if we wanted to drink, after this terrible experience all of my class was sick... it was such a terrible experience ! BE CAREFULL !!!!!!!!

Super brunch place.. the breakfasts were soooo good.. I have also heard that the schnitzels is a must order out of breakfast times..

Good, traditional German cuisine. Unfortunately, my wife's roast pork was a bit dry, but the apricot dumplings for dessert more than made up for it. I highly recommend them. My Wiener schnitzel was well-prepared and freshly made. I would have appreciated a bit more cleanliness at the neighboring tables, but staff is in short supply everywhere these days anyway.

I went to Lautenschlager with a good friend on Monday, October 27, 2025. The food was good, as always. However, it was very crowded and so loud on the ground floor that evening that we could only talk by shouting. Up until now, we've always been able to sit on the upper terrace in the summer, which I definitely preferred. I don't know how to solve the noise problem... acoustic ceiling? Partitions? I'll certainly give the upper floor another try; perhaps it will be better there.

Overall, we really like it. The autumn menu is perfect. Flammkuchen with pumpkin...delicious! Maultaschen with chanterelles...amazing!

The Maultaschen soup was way too salty; we waited over an hour for the food. The portions were extremely small. The mushroom cream sauce was the best thing about the place. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed.

Unfortunately, our last visit wasn't so pleasant. Mr. Azeem was consistently unfriendly and irritable. It really depends on who you get as your server. The food, however, is always good to very good.

Great food! Simply good, honest pub food! One time the service was excellent - another time, unfortunately, very bad and rude! The second time, it was also extremely loud and crowded... Otherwise, very nice - stylishly decorated, lovely terrace!

The food was delicious, but the portions were quite small. The price is quite high, however. The service was also quite friendly, and we didn't have to wait too long. The slightly inflated price is also due to the central location in the heart of Stuttgart. Since it's frequented by many large groups, it can get a bit noisy.

A pleasant lunch break with good food and good service!

The ambiance is truly beautiful and appealing – unfortunately, neither the food nor the service impressed us. The dishes were disappointing for our taste, both in terms of quality and portion size, and we found the prices significantly too high. Overall, the restaurant seems to be geared more towards tourists or larger groups than towards guests from the region. We also find it a shame that critical reviews seem to be quickly reported or removed – a more open approach to feedback would be desirable here.

We went to Lautenschlager for dinner one Saturday evening with 43 rural women. We were all thrilled and had a wonderful evening. The service was prompt and super friendly, and the food was truly delicious. We would all come back.

A very pleasant restaurant in a good location with friendly staff. The food was also excellent. The Wiener schnitzel with cranberry sauce was crispy and tender, but the portion was quite small for the price (€27!). The pancake soup tasted very fresh and warming. We will definitely return when we're back in Stuttgart.

Very good food for a fair price

The food was quite good. Unfortunately, the lentils were lukewarm, while the wieners were cold. We had veal schnitzel with fries and lentils with spaetzle. The waiters all seemed very stressed. But we were served quickly. The entrance area is very disorganized. Everyone is running back and forth, in and out. People are standing in line to be seated. Several waiters are responsible for assigning seats. The entire restaurant is terribly loud. Guests practically had to shout at each other to "converse." You had to say everything twice. Even the waiters couldn't understand you. The working environment for the employees is really stressful. Carrying heavy, large trays, constantly climbing many stairs, and the high noise level. For that, our respect goes to the employees who do it. Unfortunately, this wasn't a pleasant meal in a relaxed environment for us. Perhaps we should have expected it, since it's a "restaurant." We won't be going back.

Very, very poor acoustics – it was difficult to hold a conversation. The food was served lukewarm (pulled pork burger with fries). Keller didn't show up again after the first beer.

The food is delicious, and the service is fast and friendly. Unfortunately, at least on our visit, it was unpleasantly loud. It was busy, which made it very loud. On top of that, the music played (in my opinion) was unsuitable for the ambiance, which made the volume level even louder. We were in a larger group, and everyone had the same impression afterward. But we had a good meal!

Good atmosphere and all the classic dishes from the region as well as some good local beers. For a limited time in September and form 11:00-12::00 and 17:00 to 18:00 they have a fantastic discount offer of 50% off!

The food was excellent. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also available. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and competent. Plenty of space (two floors), a terrace, and an elevator are available. I would highly recommend it.

A very pleasant experience from start to finish. Service was fast, professional and friendly. The food was tasty although the ingredients maybe weren’t as high quality as other Schwabian restaurants in the area. Regardless, this was reflected in the cost, as it was decently priced, especially the Monday “cocktail casino” where you could get cocktails for between €2 and €7 which was fun. The biggest issue was the unpleasant smell that lingered around restaurant (unsure where it came from). Would recommend.

A fantastic restaurant in the heart of Stuttgart's city center, not far from Schlossplatz. Delicious food and excellent service. Excellent taste, a friendly atmosphere, and attentive staff! Definitely worth a visit!

Swabian Restaurant with ok food. The Rostbraten was average the schnitzel very good. The desert was very delicious and the rexomandation form the waiter for a sartu spritz was great. Volkan didna very good job.

We were booked in for a Saturday evening with 23 people. Despite the busy schedule, our delicious meal was served promptly and by a very friendly server. Checkout was also very quick. I had a similar experience on two previous visits there. I'd be happy to go back anytime!

When we first arrived at the inn, we thought, "Oh my God! What's going on here?" There's no way we'll get a table. But after we greeted the waitress at the entrance, we were seated at a table on the second floor and also mentioned the specials. Our waitress offered us spaetzle and Maultaschen, along with warm lentil salad. All our dishes were delicious, and we would recommend this inn. Many thanks to the excellent service.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Lautenschlager. The breakfast offers a very nice selection, and the food during the day is surprisingly not beer-soaked. They even offer a selection of vegan and vegetarian options, including vegetables. The service was also pleasant and courteous. I'll definitely be back.

I went out to eat with two nephews. The food was okay, and the service was good too. Unfortunately, my special request for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries was not honored for the breaded schnitzel of the day. Unfortunately, I also received a pre-ordered sparkling water, even though the dish included iced tea. The waiter's response was that he wanted to make a profit, after all, since the bottle only cost €7...!

The food was great, price wasn't too bad either, food was well cooked and seasoned, portion size was a good amount, excellent assortment of Drinks if that's what you're looking for, the waiting staff were polite and accommodating, optional to sit inside or outside (air conditioner was a little iffy inside but still cool ish), can for sure sit a group of 8 people. Definitely a good place to try out. Wash room wasn't bad but someone peed all over the toilet in one stall and I slid on the floor next to the sink due to water on the ground that hadn't been taken care of. Other than wash room checks needing to be more frequent I think the place was really Nice and will definitely go again. Recommended to try once an go back if you like it, I definitely will.

Average food. Can't go wrong, but nothing special either. The prices are also reasonable for a downtown location. Service ignored us for a while at first, but things moved along quite quickly after that.

Great restaurant with a knuckle of pork that's enough even for those with a big appetite.

Today I ate "Pepper-crusted rump steak with herb butter, fries, and coleslaw" from the menu for €24.90. The waiter didn't ask how the rump steak was done. There was a large piece of inedible tendon in the steak. I pointed this out to the waiter. When I asked what the kitchen colleagues had to say about it, the answer was, "That's normal for us." An expert knows that an inedible tendon runs through the rump at a ratio of approximately 1/3 to 2/3 of the meat and must be removed. I won't be eating there anymore.

I asked the waiter for a veal steak and he brought me veal meatballs. I also had a salad, which was so-so.

A wonderful place to enjoy delicious Swabian cuisine. Reasonably priced in a prime location in Stuttgart. Friendly, attentive service. Highly recommended in every respect!

My colleague and I always enjoy coming here. So far, we've been very satisfied. Today's sausage salad consisted of 80% pickles. I hope the waiter passed this on to the kitchen. After our complaint, there was no response from the restaurant. It's a shame.

The food was okay. Nothing really special, but not bad either. The cordon bleu, strangely enough, had a lot of cheese on one side and none at all on the other. But it wasn't that bad. The service wasn't outstanding. The waitresses were neither disrespectful nor respectful. But for that price (yes, unfortunately, it's today's restaurant standard for a somewhat expensive restaurant), I expect at least top-notch service. The noise level was good, and you could have a good conversation. The decor was a bit skimpy for a restaurant of that price. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't go there again.

The main course included all the local specialties and was truly delicious. Our waitress was attentive.

A very nice inn in a good location with delicious food and friendly service. Even though it was a bit noisy, probably due to its size, we felt very comfortable. For starters, we had the Obaztda (traditional Bavarian specialty), served with delicious crusty bread. The salmon burgers for main course were delicious, something I've never tasted before. The salmon patty was perfectly cooked. The portion of fries was large and crispy. Just how it should be! We received very friendly and courteous service. All in all, we highly recommend the Lautenschlager Inn. We'll definitely stop by again on our next visit to Stuttgart.

I'd like to share my experience: I've been there three times now. The first time with a company, we received a very friendly welcome, and the food was excellent. That's exactly why I came back, because the taste of the food still impresses me today. However, I learned something new on my second and third visits: If you're not part of a larger group, but rather a couple or alone, you need a lot of patience. Just taking your order usually takes over 30 minutes, and it often takes just as long for the drink or food to arrive. Unfortunately, the service seems unattentive and rather unfriendly. You're asked for your order several times because they're obviously not listening properly – it seems disorganized (of course, there are exceptions to the rule). My conclusion: For groups and those with plenty of time, a visit can be worthwhile – especially for the really good food. However, anyone hoping for prompt and friendly service should adjust their expectations accordingly. I would gladly come back – but more in spite of the service, not because of it.

A special address with a special atmosphere! A huge restaurant with a focus on Swabian cuisine and more. Dishes for every taste, all superbly prepared and tasteful. The staff are very friendly and helpful, always trying to accommodate and help. The location not far from Königstraße is very popular and sought after. The large windows provide a lovely light and ambience. The terrace is next door and is kept clean and well-maintained. The prices are reasonable and, compared to other restaurants, OK.

Great ambiance and great location, super friendly service, great staff, a dream on the terrace in summer, the food has gone down a bit, it is good but it lacks that certain something and the love in detail and taste.

Unfortunately, the food was very mediocre. We had the black salsify cream soup, which was a bit watery and not well seasoned. We also had the cheese spaetzle, which also lacked salt and the fried onions were no longer crispy. The homemade lemonades were refreshing and creative.

I was there last Sunday. Although it was too hot 🥵 outside, siting under umbrella in their Beergarten is quite cooler. The waiter is super polite and nice. He checked us twice as we took longer to choose the right receipe. They have breakfast also. I will try that next time. I opted for beef roast in beer sauce and local noodles. I highly recommend trying the place.

Although the food was delicious, the price was reasonable, and the atmosphere and location were very nice, the whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths because we didn't tip (it was a table with foreigners, and we all paid separately, so tipping isn't customary in our different countries). The waitress who served us mentioned tipping in a rather rude way. None of the 15 people who had breakfast there will return. Tipping should be optional, not mandatory, and even less so should it be said to the customer in a recriminatory manner.

The roof top seating was pleasant. Also having the option between outdoor downstairs/upstairs and indoor was nice. Food and drinks were good. They have vegetarian and vegan options on the menu which is nice, for anyone with dietary restrictions. Some downsides, not many chicken options. I was craving chicken and had to opt for the only chicken dish they had, which was a salad. Waiter offered us water and maybe this is a culture shock moment for me but in America water tends to be complementary (in our case it was 6,90€). Like I stated before the food and drinks were good but I wouldn’t say it was necessarily worth $97.00 (U.S. dollars)…

On June 9, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., I went with my wife for coffee and cake on the terrace. Everything was fine until the bill arrived. The lady who brought us the bill pressured and pressured us to add a tip. We were only able to save ourselves by adding the tip to the bill. Such a RUDE!!!!!! It's all expensive enough anyway. Never again to this restaurant.

Solid brewery. This was my second time there, and the service was super friendly the second time, always there when we had empty glasses. The beer was good, as was the food. I didn't have a main course, just the obatzda platter. The obatzda was good, and the bread was fantastic. The fries are great too. Whether sweet potato or regular. Nice and crispy. For dessert, I had the Black Forest Tiramisu. It was delicious! :) The others had salad and hot dishes and were pleasantly surprised. The location is large and very central. Depending on where you sit, it can get a bit noisy. Update: I tried a few other dishes and can still say that the food is good to okay, and the service is also good. I'd be happy to come back. #stuttgart

This is a highly recommended place serving local German specialties. We couldn't decide on one, so had a mixed platter for two with schnitzel, noodles, and a delicious veal meatball with sauce. For dessert we had a thoroughly mediocre apple strudel. Worst for us was the service. Apparently we weren't ordering enough drinks as we were studiously ignored by our slightly condescending waiter. Final insult was when it was time to pay. Waiter kept insisting on a 10-15% tip, and feigned ignorance when I wanted to leave a 2 Euro tip, a more appropriate amount that was more than enough. In the end, I was forced to tip this crook 5 euro. The whole experience of being ripped off because we were tourists left a sour taste. TOURISTS BEWARE.

It was a bit noisy because all the tables were full. But the service was very attentive and the food was delicious. All special requests at the table were handled flawlessly.

It's a shame that on a long weekend, the staff doesn't feel like serving on the terrace in 30-degree heat. We waited 15 minutes for someone to greet us or serve us. The waiter saw us, but didn't say hello or anything. As we left, not even a goodbye or apology. His facial expression spoke for itself. Even the last time we were there, the food was rather run-of-the-mill. Too bad, we won't be coming again.

Il n'y avait ni eau ni pain ni dessert, la sauce était trop épicée et les pâtes (apparemment elles même fournies au fromages) étaient roulées dans du fromage rendant le tout quasi écœurant.

Breakfast is served until 1 p.m., even during the week, and is conveniently located in the heart of the city, next to the Palace of the Republic. Within walking distance of Königstrasse and Schlossplatz. Always friendly service, and the food is excellent. A wide selection of Swabian and light dishes, including vegetarian and vegan options. A lovely spot to meet in Stuttgart, especially in the summer, but also indoors during the colder months.

Neben dem berühmten "Palast der Republik" befindet sich das riesige Wirtshaus Lautenschlager. Draußen auf der Terrasse lässt es ich gut aushalten und man kann dem Treiben auf der Gass´beobachten. Aber dann kommt die unspektakuläre Speisekarte... Da ich mal wieder im Schwabenland bin, habe ich Lust auf Linsen mit Spätzle, dazu Saitenwürste. Erstens dauert es recht lange, bis die Bedienung die Bestellung aufnimmt. Und dann bekomme ich meinen Teller mit halb verbranntem Bacon obenauf. Die Spätzle sind trocken und kleben aneinander. Die Linsen sind in Ordnung. Ich muss einiges liegen lassen trotz meines Hungers.

L'entrée était pas bonne, de la salade n'étant pas difficile à cuisiner, était acide et imbibée de vinaigre 🤮 le plat de pâtes était écœurant et les portions pas suffisantes. Tandis que les serveurs n'étaient pas accueillants. Nous sommes partis en groupe (48) et ils n'ont pas voulu nous servir une seule carafe d'eau. Nous repartons le porte feuille vide et le ventre aussi.

Kein Dessert, teuer Wasser, salad schmeckt nicht, Nudeln zu Fett, servierer nicht nett. Ich komme nicht wieder. Wir gehen ohne Geld wieder zurück aber haben nichts gegessen.
