We were there on a Friday evening, and the owner wasn't very friendly. We both ordered the beef black burger with sweet potatoes. They were regular, soggy burger patties (not black as described). The beef on the burger was way too salty, and the sweet potato sticks weren't sweet potatoes anymore, but just burnt chips. Among other things, there were about 15 of these sweet potato sticks (too small to serve with the burger) for €20.

Surreal experience, never again Total chaos, order taken very late, place dirty, the owner completely disheveled and obviously out of it, insulting guests and staff. At first I thought I was in a joke. The waitress reeked of alcohol and staggered through the place. I've never experienced anything like it before, absolutely surreal. I've never written a review before, but people, this place is like a horror trip, including a police intervention and the owner's arrest.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with all the recent reviews. A dull-witted, rude landlord with bad, stale beer who manages to scare away the only customers with his outrageous, loud-mouthedness. An absolute disaster!!!

When we arrived on Whit Sunday, we didn't know if the shop was even open. The door opened, the shutters were down, and the room was dark. It smelled of dog and cigarette smoke. I asked if they were open, and the manager replied yes. My wife was about to leave, but I persuaded her to stay. We ordered an Aperol and a wheat beer. The Aperol was undrinkable. Diluted, it tasted more like water. You can hardly go wrong with a wheat beer. We ordered two turkey skewers with fries, which was quite bold. They skipped the fries and instead offered fried potatoes. We decided not to complain; it wouldn't have done any good anyway. He then promised to bring napkins when he brought the food, but he forgot about it until we got to the counter. When we finished eating, the music was turned up so loud that we couldn't have a conversation anymore, and it was clear we should leave. I quickly calculated the cost. We then stood up and went to the counter and paid. The owner's comment was, "You noticed, I turned it up a bit." We didn't get a receipt either. The WKD should take a look at the place. The kitchen didn't look so great. We've been there a few times before. But this time was a disaster. Never again under this owner. What a shame...

We came in and were told to sit outside, but the waitress wasn't there yet. We sat down and our order was taken. The drinks and food came quickly. But the schnitzel I had ordered was uneatable. When we said this, they said, "Oh, we have a new waitress..." We wanted to pay and said this at least 100 times. When no one came after half an hour, we went inside... And suddenly there was a new cash register! Way too overpriced, a small menu... Overwhelmed staff If you want to enjoy the view and have a drink, it might not be so bad after all. But maybe she should stay away from the food.

When we arrived, we weren't sure whether the restaurant was open or closed. The shutters were down - it wasn't inviting. Atmosphere: A cross between a beach club, an RTL show, or a run-down beer garden. The beer was flat and barely drinkable. The schnitzel was over-fried and had a shoe sole. The cheese spaetzle gave us all a stomach ache. When paying, we were able to take a look into the kitchen; if we had seen the kitchen before ordering, we would have left. Something needs to be done here, otherwise this place will have to close. The service was excellent! Friendly and quick.

Not recommended - given the number of people and the average rating, I expected something different. When we arrived, it smelled of cigarette smoke, dog, and rancid grease. Luckily, the weather was great and we could go outside, otherwise we would have turned around. We had burgers with sweet potato fries, onion roast beef with cheese spaetzle, iced coffee, non-alcoholic wheat beer, and cherry spritzer. The only acceptable thing was the wheat beer. We returned more than half of the food because it was so bad - I've NEVER returned food before. When asked how it was, we honestly said we were really disappointed. They expressed regret. The service was nice. Paying the manager - who was completely drunk - took over 7 minutes while we stood at the cash register. We were asked three times if we wanted a receipt. Avoid!!

Absolutely disastrous place – never again Distelfarm. Rude staff who clearly have no idea about hospitality. The waitress flat-out lied to our faces about the drinks – when we asked, she simply claimed "it's the norm." Not a word of apology, no willingness to clarify – instead, rude and arrogant. The manager? A complete disgrace. We had the impression he wasn't completely sober – his demeanor was completely off-key and there was no trace of professionalism. Service? A solid 6. Complaints were ignored, criticism was dismissed or ignored. On top of that, the place was simply filthy – dirty tables, an unpleasant atmosphere. At least they ended up charging for small drinks instead of large ones – but that was the only halfway positive thing. If you like being treated badly, this is the place for you. Everyone else: stay well away from this place.

THE TENANT SHOULD BE REPLACED Unfortunately, our visit to the Distelfarm was very disappointing. Despite low occupancy on a Friday evening – only three tables occupied – the service seemed overwhelmed, and the food quality was also subpar. Particularly irritating was the behavior of the apparently intoxicated owner, who loudly criticized one of his employees – right in front of the guests. The employee in question seemed dedicated and trying hard, which made the situation all the more unpleasant. This behavior had a very negative impact on our overall impression of the evening. Based on this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

In February, I reserved a table for my daughter's communion, which took place at the beginning of May. Unfortunately, my guests and I found the door locked. My brother-in-law called and was told that it was impossible for us to have made a reservation. Two minutes later, I suspect it was the owner, called my brother-in-law back and said, "They don't have any staff and aren't opening. I should let them know and they'll compensate me." As I walked around the restaurant, an employee approached me from the terrace and said that the manager had told me to say there was no staff. I wondered if that was really true. Still, a quick update would have been nice. Anyway, there won't be any compensation, as they haven't responded to my messages. I have to say, the restaurant has really gone downhill, and even if they contact me about compensation, I won't go there again.

What an evening... 🙈 We were greeted with the words, "We're barely staffed today, so you can only sit outside." Once we got to our seats, we waited a long time for a waiter to order drinks. The drinks arrived after 50 minutes. The food came faster, but some of the food couldn't be eaten due to hygiene reasons. 🦠The waiter was friendly and apologized several times for the owner. Our neighbor ordered food and drinks at the same time. The food came quickly, but the drinks didn't arrive until the end.

Update: now someone seems to be drunk here on a regular basis and insults and threatens guests. STRONGLY AVOID. Unfortunately the restaurant was a failure for us. There are 2 stars for the great view and the nice presentation of the food. Unfortunately the service was subpar. The service doesn't know almost all of the dishes, the main waiter is unfriendly and seems arrogant. If vegetarian starters are delivered as a main course, they cost almost twice as much, the wrong drinks are delivered and the dishes are incomplete. Overall, the dishes are too expensive despite the Stuttgart area. Despite the beautiful view, we won't be back…

One star is too many! Bad, worse - thistle farm! Drunk boss who talks down his employees, bad service, only 3 tables occupied on Friday evening says it all and still nothing works, neither service nor food are worth an evening here. When paying at the end, the drunk boss makes a complete mess of his employee, who is really trying, for no reason and in front of us guests. I have never experienced anything like this and never want to experience it again. Hopefully this review can save other potential guests from this disaster and a bad evening.

Having been here many times, I am disappointed and horrified. We were there for almost half an hour, no one came (staff wasn't there at first, then he walked between the tables and ignored the people) and asked us if we wanted to eat or drink something. There was only one other table in the entire restaurant occupied, and at least they had drinks. It's a shame, it used to be really nice there.

Went there to have something to eat. The wine was barely drinkable and my friend brought the aperol back. The waiter brought a new one but unfortunately it didn't work either. Somehow I felt sorry for the waiter but when he told me that this dish wasn't on the recommendation board, we paid and left with an empty stomach.

Went here for dinner to celebrate our 3 year old. Positive: - you could sit outside and had a nice one View over the vineyards - good, free parking spaces available - Service staff was very attentive noticed and came more- come to our table again to ask if everything was ok - Espresso was very good - Landlord only served 1 meal expects, because cheese spaetzle was without cheese and that Cranberries were missing. Negative: - The food: Both had cheese spaetzle with wedges + cranberries ordered. The cheese spaetzle was without Cheese. The breading of the Schnitzel tasted sweet. Cranberries were missing. Spaetzle were cold, the rest were warm warm. You had to pay to the checkout. When asked about this missing cheese was discovered clarifies that the cheese is in the Sauce was (a gravy). Ultimately there was only one Food charged. Food wise we were on our 3 year old served.

Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment: cold roast, too well done, instead of the announced cheese spaetzle, there was only spaetzle with sauce and that wasn't quite there either, there were also fries thrown on the plate. The meat tasted great, but unfortunately everything was cold. For €28 it was so annoying. The service was okay, but a bit strange. It's a shame, the view is really a dream!

I don't even know where to start, you used to be able to eat really well here but now even 1 star is one too many. It was freezing cold in the restaurant itself, the service was subpar (and that's putting it nicely), the menu had already been massively shortened and yet the food was an absolute disappointment. Cheese spaetzle where you desperately look for the cheese, schnitzel with a strange aftertaste etc. and also cold. The service didn't even look for us but had to actively search for us even though it was empty and was also at least drunk. The dog in the kitchen topped it all off.

We cook in an “Adolf ***** kitchen?!” After a few years, we had dinner at the Thistle Farm again last Saturday and were unfortunately bitterly disappointed. First we were asked to wait. An employee had an accident with the goods in the car and the owner had to get the goods. Of course we had complete understanding and the chef who took over the service was really great. The owner later took over, and he didn't seem sober. Unfortunately it was quite cold and instead of turning up the heating, we were given blankets... Everything took a long time, for example the main course was only served after the starters had been cleared away, even though only 5 tables were occupied between 5 and 9 p.m. Many items on the menu were not available. He wanted to make an extra card. Yes, but he didn't. The owner also made fun of the fact that people would order cheese spaetzle in the summer and Spanish platters in the winter - WHAT IS ON THE MENU?! Of two latte macchiatos, there was only one and a hot chocolate. The owner just asked: “Bad?” It's a shame about the cocoa, but I was craving coffee, which unfortunately I never got. The latte macchiato that was delivered had something smeared on the outside of the glass, probably caramel syrup. The main course was lukewarm to cold, the plates were ice cold. We brought a plate back to the kitchen ourselves after a few minutes because of cold gnocchi (so it wouldn't take so long). The owner then came with the warmed up food and said that she shouldn't talk for 20 minutes, but rather eat. Otherwise it would be clear that the food would be cold. My friend kindly said that he was a chef himself and that the plates should be warmed up beforehand. The owner seemed irritated and then loudly said that they were cooking in an "Adolf H***** kitchen". He probably said that the kitchen was old. Ultimately, not everything that was ordered was delivered here either. We have the bill Having to wait forever (and in the end there were two dishes worth over €50 that we didn't even eat). After we got to the bar when it was closed to pay (we had been there for 4 hours by now) and complained about the bad thing Service complained, the Owner really rude. He shouted at us, accused us of speaking to him disrespectfully, and overall he seemed like he was under some kind of influence, his mood fluctuated between aggressive and apologetic. And of course he had to say “Adolf” again Mention "H***** kitchen". It could have been expressed much more stylishly, but it didn't. We say: Thanks to the chef who did his best to bridge the wait for the owner. We had no way of knowing that the evening would go down the drain because of him.

We ate here for the first time with friends yesterday, at the end of October. The thistle farm has a location with a great view, which can be enjoyed from the (covered) terrace, especially on a warm summer night. Unfortunately it was quite frosty in the restaurant yesterday, so overall I didn't feel very comfortable. I mentioned it to the waiter, but there was no improvement. On the other hand, the service itself was very friendly. I mean, there were 3 people including kitchen staff who ran the place. Sometimes you wait a little longer, but we didn't mind. The menu is a small culinary journey around the world. And all four of our meals were very, very good, in terms of taste and also very appealing to the eye. The restaurant has the feel of a former riflemen's home, decorated with all sorts of interesting decorations from all over the world. Diversity probably counts here. :) I thought the prices were really okay, especially for Stuttgart conditions! We'd love to come back, but only when it's warm ;)

Unfortunately a failure We spontaneously went to the thistle farm on Monday evening to have a little something to eat. Unfortunately we had to wait for everything. Waiting around 45 minutes for 2 soups when there's really nothing going on in the restaurant is really not possible. The tomato soup was over-seasoned and cooled down by the thick mozzarella, which was also at refrigerator temperature. The potato soup tasted like parsnips and saffron, but not like potatoes. You could cope with everything if the tomato soup didn't cost €13 and was served with fridge-cold white bread. But what was most annoying was the waiting time... It's a real shame that the great location is managed like this. Maybe it's not always like that, but our experience in the summer was similar, especially in terms of the waiting time.

First pleasant surprise- it was not only open at 3.30PM but you could get any dish on the menu - which is almost impossible in Stuttgart at this time of the day. Spectacular views and imaginative design are already enough reason to visit the place, but the menu itself also can meat the most demanding tastes - from vegetarians and light eaters to meat lovers and foodies. But the real highlight of our visit was our friendly and knowledgeable service, we felt like we took a course in culture and traditions of the world.

Perfect atmosphere, friendly people. The food is excellent and they are flexible in preparing almost anything. The drinks and cocktails are of high quality. Unfortunately, my partner has a food intolerance, but that wasn't an obstacle either. The prices are also cheap and this does not come at the expense of quality. It was just perfect for us. We went for dinner, but we definitely wanted to come here for lunch the next day, and we spent 1 night in the city. Definite maximum rating. I recommend it to everyone! Perfect atmosphere, freundliche Menschen. Das Essen ist auszeiten und sie können fast alles flexible zubereiten. The drinks and cocktails are of high quality. Leider hat mein Partner Nahrungsmittelungverträglichkeiten, aber auch das war kein Hindernis. Auch die Preise sind günstig und das geht nicht zu Lasten der Qualität. Für uns war es einfach perfekt. Wir gingen zum Abendessen, wollten aber am nächsen Tag unbedinget zum Mittagesen hierher kommen und spendchten eine Nacht in der Stadt. Eindeutige Höchstbewertung. Ich impfehle and jem!

The food was really delicious and excellently prepared, the service was very friendly, unfortunately, like everywhere else, there is a lack of staff here, which increased the waiting times. Price-performance fair. During the meal, none of our 10 colleagues had anything to drink and when we repeatedly asked for something more, we were just rudely left aside. Clearly too few conditions but just a hint of friendliness towards the guests and they would understand and accept it better. Were there on Tuesday. Unfortunately only 1 man in service and 1 man at the counter. As much as the man in service was stressed and yet friendly, the gentleman at the counter was so relaxed. While one runs and apologizes repeatedly, the other strolls back and forth in complete calm. End of the song with just under 40 guests - a whole 40 minutes until we had our drinks (at almost 30° C) and the starter came shortly before the drinks..... The food was tasty but nothing special. If you sit in the 2nd row of tables like we did, you can hardly see anything of the view thanks to the hedge that has grown too high. We won't be coming back any time soon.

Unfortunately an absolute failure. We wanted to celebrate my grandma's 85th birthday there as a family. Except for one meal, everything was cold - not even lukewarm. This might work with a schnitzel, but it certainly won't work with an onion roast and liver! Had to let it go back. When it came back it was lukewarm and the meat was tough and therefore inedible. The boss came at some point and apologized for the bad food and asked to deduct a certain amount from the bill, which was appropriate. We had reserved for 6:30 p.m., were assigned a table and then the waiting began. We ordered at 7 p.m. and the drinks arrived at 7:30 p.m. The starters arrived at a delayed time at 8:30 p.m. The half sliced tomato that came with the burrata for a whopping EUR 12.80 was moldy in three places. When this was pointed out, the plate was taken back and the delivery of the main courses began after a remarkable 2.5 hours. When the plate with burrata came back (delivered personally by the boss, without apology), the tomato was hollowed out and the burrata was "sunk" into it ". When asked if this was the dish now, because it looks different now, the boss said in original tone: you have eyes in your head, right? We were so perplexed that we couldn't think of anything to say except that his tone had probably changed dramatically. The salads were so small and without dressing that we wondered what the "small salad plate" looked like. The tuna steak was ordered between medium and well done. It arrived frozen inside. We let it go back with a request to continue frying it. After 20 minutes the boss came back with the plate (unchanged) and asked who it belonged to. It was the same person who already had the rotten tomato. Boss's comment: "You again!" He then wanted to explain that the tuna has to look like this and that we shouldn't lecture him again and that we could come into the kitchen if we knew everything better. I then discreetly pointed out that we were paying money here and he was getting money. He then ran away in a huff. 10 minutes later a waitress came with champagne and 100 EUR and the boss was sorry. The tuna stopped coming. We still had to pay it and other guests also left because their food didn't come. The boss was as full as a beach howitzer and insulted everyone who wasn't in the trees at 3. Underground. Nobody believes you. It's a shame for the great location. Addendum: Went even further. When paying we pointed out that we didn't have the fish because it wasn't fried and brought back as expected, but was simply kept. The boss then explained to the person paying that he shouldn't be lectured, that she was old and ugly and that she should pay now and leave. We left the 100 EUR and the champagne behind. The police came and assured us that the boss was known to the police. We have refrained from filing a complaint because of insults, but we hope that as many people as possible will read this and make the right decision.

The onion roast had the right ingredients, but the look said it was a beef steak with onion sauce. But it was really good. So the point is only deducted because I'm used to something different with onion roast. The point deducted from the service is due to the fact that we were a large (registered) group, but the cash register software works strictly according to tables and, as always, something was left open at the end that was expected to be the last one to pay.

It is a wonderfully furnished restaurant where you can also dine on a terrace with an excellent view of the city and vineyard. I can't say which is better, food or service. Both are simply excellent. While I'm at it, kudos to the kitchen! The food was a poem! You can't complain about the prices either. We had a sausage salad with organic Alpine cheese, an Argentinian steak with potatoes, curd dip and grilled vegetables, two cokes and two coffees. Rounded, we came to 60 euros

I would like to give this as feedback that the quality of the food has unfortunately declined in recent years and the prices are too exaggerated. Especially the salad varieties. I paid around 19 euros for a plate of salad with goat cheese and half an avocado. Some of the lettuce leaves were no longer fresh and crunchy. The plate was huge but the contents were too little for the price. The goat cheese was very tasty but unfortunately I was very disappointed overall.

We were guests here as a large group during the week. Because we arrived a little earlier, we were able to get seats on the terrace. Our drinks and food also came relatively quickly, although the black burgers with beef we ordered were brought to the table as chicken burgers. According to what the waitress said, they would be the same thing (beef = chicken, really?)... The later it got, the more the quality of the service deteriorated. Orders were no longer taken with the statement that the employee in question was only responsible for bringing them, or ordered drinks were only brought after a very long time. The “highlight” of the evening was the payment... Payment at the table was refused, you had to pay inside. Here you stood in line for over 30 minutes until the people in front of you finally finished paying - and there weren't that many. It seemed as if the employees were not familiar with the cash register system... Our question as to whether you could simply pay on paper was answered in the negative. When it was finally my turn, another guest was interrupted who wanted to cancel his drink order because they had finished eating. After I pointed out that I finally wanted to pay because I didn't want to spend the whole evening in the hallway, the EC machine was slammed on the counter, a number was entered and asked if that was okay. Since I wanted to finally finish and didn't have the prices of the dishes in mind, I paid and was finally able to leave. I did the math on the card outside and found that I was charged an amount that was about 30% higher. I'll chalk it up as a lesson. This visit was definitely my first and last at this establishment.

Was there last night. Starter (squid rings) was too salty. But it was brought again. But one could also have said that it was actually the same size and cost (€16.90) as a main course. Onion roast was initially almost raw and cold in the middle, after a complaint it came as a shoe sole, namely completely cooked through. Koch probably hasn't heard of Medium yet. Quality of the meat isn't the best either. Was pretty tough. For dessert we ordered hot chocolate with Baileys. Even here it's not true. Cocoa was not hot, but room temperature. With a cube of ice cream it would have been iced chocolate. Conclusion: ordered three courses, three courses bad. And the whole thing with an alcohol-free wheat cost €51. Price/performance is not right here. I've been there once, but I don't have to have it anymore.

Not far from the Robert Bosch Hospital, the thistle farm is hidden among the vineyards. We went here based on recommendations from friends and were rewarded with the beautiful view in good weather. We sat on the large terrace and were served nicely by the staff. There was also a children's chair on site, which was quickly brought to us. However, a look at the map revealed the problem with the thistle farm: no noticeable line in the menu. It feels like the whole world is represented in 10 dishes, from spaetzle to red curry to burgers, you can find everything here. This means, in most cases, that there is no specialization and skills in one culinary area are less likely to be used in the other. Unfortunately, that was the case in this case. To minimize the risk, we had the turkey steak with grilled vegetables and a baked potato with herb curd and the black burger with sweet potato fries. The turkey steak was juicy and the grilled vegetables were delicious, the herb quark was very sour and heavily peppered, making it almost inedible. The potato was okay without the quark. However, the burger wasn't convincing at all. The patty lay on a bed of pickled tomatoes, which in turn added a lot of acid to the burger. The patty itself was lacking in flavor and rather lighter in color. I'm guessing veal was used here, which would be very unusual for a burger. The burger bread is black, but there's nothing else special about it. The fries were okay, but there was room for improvement as a lot of bitter substances could be tasted. We paid almost 50 euros and in the end we were really disappointed with the food. Can't complain about the view. If there is a next time, we'll probably come full and just order drinks.

Mega friendly staff, mega friendly and courteous service and super delicious food. The menu isn't huge, but whether it's schnitzel with spaetzle, Italian or Thai cuisine, everyone can find something. The various dishes are attractively prepared. The view over the valley and the beautiful sunset is also really beautiful. The decor corresponds to the menu, a bit German, a bit Mediterranean and a bit Thai, a bit of everything. All in all a very nice place to relax and unwind for young and old, casual, cozy, just to enjoy. Wheelchair access may be a little difficult and the location is not handicapped accessible. The toilets are clean and tidy. We had a lovely evening and will definitely be back.

Mother's Day of horror! When entering the restaurant, the first impression is positive, with pompous wine bottles on display in the best “Bella Figura” style. Barely two meters further on, it is certain that you will not be ordering a Lillet Wild Berry because the bartender is pouring the Wild Berry straight down your throat from the bottle. Regarding the ambience itself, it is sad to note that in the back area of the terrace there are still tons of leaves floating around and the oleanders are so dry that they are practically begging to be set on fire in order to be relieved of their suffering. The hotel's own dog, which was almost drowned with water in its specially cordoned off lounge, was a completely different story. After the hopelessly overwhelmed service staff finally served the food, we noticed that guests who arrived at the neighboring table after us were even served their food before us. The food came one by one so that we ultimately couldn't eat together. If a kitchen can't even produce the simplest bruschette, buttery white bread with no hint of toast or garlic, then you should leave it alone and go back to construction to work as a plasterer. The crowning achievement was probably the most miserable sausage salad in history, the cheapest Lyoner, grated Parmesan (😂) and rocket 🙄 No trace of vinegar, salt and pepper. People, leave it alone or get professional help who can show your kitchen a sensible mis en place and work processes for such a rush. Last but not least, it took another good twenty minutes until the plates were cleared away, even though the amateur waiters walked past us numerous times. This time the wonderful view didn't help either, shame on you!

Turned out to be a living room-like restaurant with a large terrace overlooking the city. Fantastic. Tasty food, nice service. Somewhat clumsy: if you deviate slightly from what is stated on the card, you have to calculate how much it will cost. There was also a pot of tea on the menu. But they didn't have that. Got small cup of tea instead. Well, ....another fun and tasty, unexpected experience.

I came back after many years and can only say, never again. The food, nine of us, was good. But everything went wrong for me... I ordered a little joe (kinderschnitzel) with baby potatoes because they had run out of croquettes, and it was a Saturday. It didn't say turkey, so I assumed it was pork. I got turkey schnitzel with fried potatoes. I said I wanted spaetzle with it. So I paid for two side dishes, even though spaetzle should have been included. Unfortunately, I only realized this afterwards. The vegetable and potato pan was also sold out by 6:30 p.m. When it came to paying, it was chaos. When the restaurant manager finally came, she was still very irritated because I wanted a bill so they could trace the payment. It looked like there were three larger groups there celebrating birthdays, etc. I thought everyone was completely overwhelmed. I would have thought some kind of concession would have been appropriate for me to serve the completely wrong meal. I'm definitely never going there again. In retrospect, I paid more for a child's portion than for a large adult portion.

We celebrated our daughter's confirmation there with about 40 people, and all of the guests, like us, were absolutely thrilled with the food and the service, super friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this restaurant, and we'll definitely be back. I've now found my perfect restaurant and can only recommend it. TOP. 😉
