Good morning, always a little vacation in the ferry house. Delicious food. Delicious tarts and cakes. Friendly and courteous restaurant staff. I have no right to complain about the prices. The food is freshly prepared >> you can see through the open show kitchen. Which means that everything is still too cheap. I pay more in restaurants of equal quality. Let alone in other European countries. Anyone who complains about the prices actually doesn't understand how poorly services are paid in Germany. The drinks prices are at the Hamburger-Wedeler level. The service is impressive, of course. Honest. Funny. It's unbelievable, but they treat me the way I treat them. Overall, the Fährhaus won't lose me as a guest. As well as my family, my friends and my business partners.

Unfortunately, I can't give a very good rating here: the Schulauer Fährhaus is actually an institution, no question about it. And you should definitely treat yourself to the experience of sitting here and watching the big pots and being introduced to them. I sat on the outside terrace in the best weather, but of course the ambience here is not the same as inside. I would definitely have given it one more star. The service was okay, but nothing more. He seemed a bit uninterested, but that could also have been due to the temperatures. The oysters were really world class and the price was also completely reasonable. I can recommend them without reservation. The fish soup we ordered for €13.90 promised a generous addition of fish and vegetables. Unfortunately I was very disappointed here. There were three small pieces of fish in the cup-sized soup. That's simply far too little for this price, especially since it's advertised specifically in the menu. The taste, however, was really good. Unfortunately, my overall result for the Schulauer Fährhaus on this day was not more than three stars, sorry.

We spent a really great evening in the new Schulauer Fährhaus and can only warmly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant at the same time - perfect for a special evening for two. We chose the menu which started with a delicious monkfish appetizer. The fish was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned – a real treat. For the main course we had the pepper coated cod, which was simply excellently prepared. The pepper coat harmonized perfectly with the tender fish and gave the dish a pleasant spiciness. The wine recommendation is particularly positive. The wine not only went perfectly with the dishes, but was also an interesting and tasty selection that enriched the evening even more. The service was attentive and very friendly, which contributed to an overall successful experience. We felt completely comfortable and will definitely come back. An absolutely recommended place for connoisseurs!

I really liked that, some things could be better but I don't come often and then it's good in turns. The Portuguese dish is supposed to be for 2 and costs almost €70

We went to the Schulauer Fährhaus for coffee in the afternoon. We always enjoy going there. There is a star deduction because it does not offer a vegan alternative to milk. There are explicitly designated vegan products for breakfast, there are vegan dishes, but the coffee specialties can only be prepared with milk. Nowadays, more or less every café has oat milk or soy milk, so there should be at least that in a restaurant like this.

The last visit was as part of a company party. The food was very good, the portion sizes were more than sufficient and the service was very attentive and courteous. Overall, a successful evening and has great potential to be repeated.

We were just passing through here and wanted to take a look around the Willkomm-Höft and just stop by the New Schulau Fährhaus. The cakes and tarts we ordered were of very high quality and the sea buckthorn punch we ordered later was also very tasty. It was during the week and therefore very empty, so staffing levels were thin. But everyone who was there put a lot of effort into the customer and it was a pleasant stay. For all guests, don't forget to have the parking ticket punched by the service, otherwise it could be expensive.

We found a seat straight away because other guests were just getting up! The waiter greeted us, after 15 minutes the same waiter came over and said: “Oh, those aren’t your cups anymore”! Luckily we had already looked online at what we wanted to drink and ordered (wheat: 6.80 0.5l, juice spritzer 5.40 0.4l), otherwise he would have had to get a menu! After 20 minutes the drinks came! Unfortunately, the neighboring table asked for the menu, it took even longer, and then only one person's order came, the partner came away completely empty-handed! In total, we were served by three waiters from ordering to paying! If we had just left, no one would have noticed! This is complete chaos! I've never seen so many unnecessary trips from the staff: never leave the dining room empty and bring the menu and the card machine with you! The information from the ships passing by was great, but that was it!

Welcome Höft is a “MUST” if you are in the area😃

Unique experience near Hamburg thanks to the unique ship welcome system with live commentary and good explanations for each ship as well as the appropriate national anthems, which are played individually with each incoming ship. High-quality food as well as homemade cakes, tarts and chocolates. Also great in summer in the semi-open winter garden with a direct view of the Elbe. You can almost feel the Elbe when you eat. Also bookable as an event location. Large parking lot at fair conditions.

Fantastic and the view is amazing. There are covered benches down by the water and you can watch and hear the ships being greeted and farewelled with the respective national anthem. Unique and very very beautiful.

We were here because we were curious about the ship greetings/farewells. Unfortunately these end at 4:30 p.m., so we didn't notice any more then. The prices are very high for what you get. Main courses hardly cost less than €20… I had the vegan Frisian cake, which unfortunately only consisted of cream. My husband had the nut cake which was ok. I would describe the atmosphere as rather old-fashioned. However, the view of the Elbe was very nice and the service was very attentive and helpful. You can sit outside well even in winter, thanks to the radiant heater. There are some vegan options on the menu, including dessert. A nice location that you could do something with!

We celebrated the New Year there with a buffet. The food was very tasty and varied, the service was quick and friendly. With a beautiful view of the Elbe. Would love to come back

Christmas, second holiday... Not justified in terms of price. Kale 20 EUR according to the menu with caramelized potatoes - which have never seen a pan. Fried potatoes with fish etc without bacon and pale. Goose, steaks etc start at 36 EUR. Noisy environment, bad for older people with hearing aids - but that's just a side note.

Unique - impressively beautiful!

We were at the Schulauer Fährhaus for lunch on December 26th, 24, like every year. We particularly like the whole turkey, carved at the table, which we enjoyed with ten family members. There are a lot of families there at lunchtime and the staff is well prepared for small children. This year the same staff was there, but the service was far worse, unfortunately. This started with the fact that it was not passed on when making the reservation that one person had to eat gluten-free. As a result, there was no food for them for the first half hour because the staff was unable to find out which parts of the main course they had booked were edible. Later potatoes were boiled and the lady ate turkey breast without anything with potatoes. The rest of us were also unlucky this time: the first waiter asked what we wanted to drink, noted the first water, then ran away and served three other tables in the next 20 minutes. After 15 minutes a nice gentleman took pity and took the orders. The drinks came in very slow portions. The food itself was great as always, except that the side dishes and sauce were eaten quickly. The reorder was catastrophic. We waited a really long time for sauce. But that's better than last year, when we didn't get any. There are still four stars because it was very crowded.

Ordered a duck for home on December 24th, 2023, which was so good that we really wanted to eat it there for Christmas 2024. Reserved for 12 people on December 25th, 2024...after we were brought to the table we waited 45 minutes until we were even asked if we wanted something to drink 😅 All the food like the goose and duck were cold, the a la carte dishes like schnitzel and burgers were just as cold, a shame. When we pointed out the lack of heat to the waitress, we were told "that she would take care of it". We didn't see the waitress again. We then asked for the bill and simply have to say that we found 50 euros each for a cold duck or cold goose to be far too much. The only thank you is for the beautiful ambience at Christmas time and that was it. Christmas 2025 probably without the Schulau ferry house..

I can say that the Wedel Schlauer Fährhaus has not lost its reputation in any way, I simply say that the reputation of the house has improved even more. So if you make a detour to the Rolandstadt Wedel at the border triangle (Schleswig Holstein, Hanseatic City of Hamburg, and Lower Saxony) at any time of the year, you have to make a stop at the Willkommenhöft and the Wedel Schulauer Fährhaus. Für heute Abend habe ich eine Gans bestellt. Sie wurde auf die Minute fertiggestellt und war somit heiß und saftig bei uns zu Hause auf dem Teller. Die Gans war köstlich, die Haut schön knusprig und kaum Fett dran, so wie wir es mögen. Auch die Beilagen, das noch knackige Rotkraut, die mit Semmelbrösel bestreuten Klöße, die Maronen und die pure Sauce waren hervorragend. Ein großes Dank an die Küche. Wir haben in den letzten Jahren immer wieder dort eine Ganz bestellt und wurden immer positiv überrascht. Frohe Weihnacht Johann H.

Wir waren im Fährhaus nach habe zum Abschluss ein Glas trockenen rotwein bestellt. Als ich die Rechnung begleichen wollte, musste ich feststellen, daß dieses Glas Euro 18,00 kostet. Der Kellner hat mich bei der Bestellung nicht darauf hingewiesen. Ich reklamierte beim Chef und bekam ein Achselzucken. Also lieber vorher in die Karte schauen und danach bestellen. Das war unklug von mir. Also bitte seht euch vor. Ich werde die nächste Zeit nicht dort einkehren, obwohl ich dies als wedlerin im getan habe.

We took a short trip to the Welcome Farm and were very disappointed. The cream in the hot chocolate was sour, red lentil soup and coconut pumpkin soup were not convincing, especially since stale bread was served with it. The ambience is very appealing, even if it was given a negative touch by an arrogant appearance by one of the employees.

Price-performance ratio is not right, still designed for bus tourists. You could do something with it, but not with the kitchen. Kale isn't difficult, but the potatoes were cold, not crispy, just briefly dipped in sugar, the kale was full of stalks, the sausage was too fatty and the smoked pork was dry. The waffle for dessert didn't work at all.

Highly recommended! We were at a wedding dinner, so it's best to be very hungry. I feel a bit sad for the delicious fish that I couldn't finish because I was just too full.

You pay for the view and the ship's welcome with the price of your meal, but that's completely fine. Guests only pay 80 cents per hour for parking.

We were here 5 years ago. A thank you for welcoming the people at sea. Everything was done very well and nicely. The only thing that bothered us was the “fee” for the parking lot. This is a rip off. If at some point no one comes anymore, they'll wonder why.

A great place to unwind on sunny days. If it is raining and there is a cold wind, it is better to have a jacket with you. Because on the terrace, which is well protected, you freeze. The breakfast can be expanded for the price. The cake stand is ok, but the special delicacies don't cut it. The buffet with eggs etc. was really well done. Unfortunately, the fried eggs and poached egg on toasty with avocado and hollandais sauce were really tasty, but cold. Rolls were baked and not fresh from the bakery. Plus point 1l carafe of water, orange juice and coffee. That hardly exists anymore. Please try it anyway.

Here the arriving ships are greeted with their national anthems, as if each were a state visit. Information on register tons and sizes is generously served as the ocean giants cruise lazily past. I can't say whether the food can keep up - but the wine was good and the welcoming ceremony is an entertaining greeting to the wide world. A curious, charming experience not to be missed!

We were at the snack bar in the restaurant and wanted 2 Bismarck herrings and 1 fish cake roll. It was strange that there was nothing on display. We ordered anyway and unfortunately we already paid at the payment machine. After 15 minutes I went there and asked how How long it would take. It would still take a while because there are no rolls. (Thanks that we didn't get the information in advance 😡) After 25 minutes I went back and wanted my money back. That's probably not possible Because you wouldn't be able to get any money out of the machine. Only the boss can do that. The two people behind the counter were totally overwhelmed because other people complained after me. And they were just waiting for fries. We were left without rolls or money gone.The boss should put the €16.50 somewhere else.Once and never again.

Waren dort heute zum Frühstück,Gutschein eingelöst. Pro Person 28,80€,was wir schon überteuert fanden. Aufschnitt war schon eingeteilt auf dem Tisch. Fisch hat mein Mann gesucht. 2 sehr, sehr kleine Happen (mundgerecht zugeschnitten). Käse,? So dünn, beim anfassen, schon aus auseinander gefallen. Klägliche Ausbeute. Hatten dann Hunger auf Rührei,Würstchen und Bacon. Würstchen kalt, Bachon kalt und weich (nicht knusprig) Rührei aus dem Tetrapack, so weich und überhaupt kein Geschmack. Für 28,80 pro Person, einfach überteuert. Und die Gäste müssen mindestens 10,00 € verzehren, damit sie für den Parkplatz dann auf 0,80 Cent Parkgebühren runter gestuft werden. Es ist ein Unding für den hauseigenen Parkplatz Geld zuverlangen, oben wohl man viel Geld dort lässt. In unseren Augen einfach Wucher. Für 28,80 € pro Person bekommt man woanders alles in Büffetform und kann sich je nach Geschmack aussuchen, was man mag. Hier muß man das essen, was die ausgesucht haben, ob man es mag oder nicht. Da kennen wir andere Zeiten im Fährhaus, da war alles in Büffetform. Also, das Ende vom Lied. NIE WIEDER

Simply a magical location! The location is great on the Elbe to watch the “Pötten” and enjoy a delicious piece of cake. We'll definitely be back, just to sit inside and enjoy more food.

Super nice afternoon in and at the Schulauer Fährhaus, had a delicious lunch and celebrated our birthday.

I was there on a Saturday. At that time there was also a wedding in the adjacent winter garden. Unfortunately, the announcements about the individual ships could not be understood. I must have been sitting too far away from the nearest loudspeaker. The service is very friendly and the cake with the coffee was very good.

We were there with a larger group. The ambience is okay, quite touristy - but the restaurant pretends to be more high quality than it is. The food was OK, but not very seasoned. The portions are quite small - unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right here. However, the behavior of the service was subpar. Receiving a decent tip for a larger group shows appreciation for the service. If he thanks you with a “round of coffee on the house,” that’s very nice. What is not possible, however, is to try to settle this round all at once when you leave and cause a big fuss. We ended up paying this “round on the house” - but we strongly advise against visiting this restaurant. For us, this has something to do with rip-offs. We will certainly never come here again. The service staff should urgently be retrained or replaced. You definitely lose customers that way.

Had lunch there with 5 other guests. Food hardly seasoned, lukewarm, leaf salads only served with spicy vinegar, food carelessly brought to the plate. Conclusion: high-priced menu, bad food!

Wir waren mit der Familie auf Empfehlung dort essen. Service freundlich, Ambiente ungemütlich, in die Jahre gekommen, nur der Elbblick von der eher schäbigen Terrasse entschädigt etwas. Das Essen ist eine mittlere Katastrophe, kalt, ungewürzt. Auf die Frage nach einem gemischten Salat die Antwort: „Wir haben nur Blattsalate“. Pfifferlingcremesuppe wässrig, ungewürzt, ungeniessbar, wurde zurückgegeben. Pannfisch mit 2 gleichen Fischstücken, ungesalzen, lauwarm, Bratkartoffeln matschig, ebenfalls ungesalzen, lauwarm. Nussbecher mit Haselnusskrokant (laut Speisekarte) ohne Krokant, lediglich mit ein paar Rosinen. Auf die Frage nach dem Krokant die lapidare Antwort „ das machen wir immer so, wenn wir keinen Krokant mehr haben“. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht, hochpreisiges, schlechtes Essen in dürftigem Ambiente.

Big colorful posters... I personally didn't like it. The ship's welcome and farewell were interesting, that's why we came.

Uschi's Bude is a fast food restaurant. The food was okay, price performance was okay.

It’s a lovely place with clean environment and quality food. The service was very friendly and there was an old captain rising flags to ships, waving to them and introducing them. The ship also horns back, such a great experience.

Service by untrained Asian girls, Riesling is not wine as an aperitif. The oysters are denigrated, very much in the style of Schicki-Micki! The pan fish was good, the fried potatoes were soggy. It used to be more rustic, but also better.

Wir wurden zwar freundlich begrüßt, aber fing der Ärger an. Früher waren wir oft im Schulauer Fährhaus. Wir wussten nicht dass man jetzt IMMER einen Tisch reservieren muss. Es gab noch freie Tische mit und ohne Reservierungskarten. Angeblich konnte man nicht in den Biergarten bzw. auf die Terrasse. Wie sich später herausstellte, waren dort auch Gäste und freie Tische. Wir haben dann eine Fischsuppe und eine Pfifferlingcremesuppe bestellt. Die Fischsuppe konnte man gerade so essen, war nicht das was man sonst als Fischsuppe überall bekommt, aber es waren ein paar Lachsstückchen drin. Doch schon länger gekocht und kein richtiger Fischgeschmack mehr. Die Cremesuppe roch nicht einmal nach Pfifferlingen, war sehr dünn und die eingelegte Deko ( grüne Blättchen und Croitons waren schon untergegangen. Die gefundenen Pfifferlinge waren total schwammig und geschmacklos. Ich habe die Suppe zurück gegeben und gewartet dass irgendeine Reaktion kommt, denn ich hatte darum gebeten. Wir haben dann gesehen, die Suppe wurde nur auf ein Tablett an der Seite gestellt und nicht in die Küche gebracht. Auf Nachfrage wusste dann Niemand was ich denn wollte. Wir haben bezahlt und sind durch den gut besuchten Biergarten über die Terrasse gegangen. Ich glaube nicht, dass wir noch einmal zum Willkomm Höft fahren. Schade, wir lieben es Beide, aber so war es ein Reinfall. Mein Mann wollte mir extra eine Freude zum Geburtstag machen.
