We just had dinner there with 6 adults and 2 children. It was a really nice atmosphere, the service was very friendly and the food was very tasty.

Good day, We went there for a bite to eat between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on December 14, 2024. After breakfast I got another waffle, unfortunately there was only one waffle on the plate, not like the pictures, otherwise everything else was missing. It felt very cold in the rooms for me and my partner (18 degrees). That's why we had to warm up first when we got home.

2 hours from starter to dessert

The food was good, although I missed a salad or a side salad. Should be included in the prices. The eye eats too. That means...it was done carelessly. The service was OK. Even if the side salad I ordered contained things that I hadn't explicitly ordered. Even though she noticed it, there was no offer to bring me a new one. The ambience: the dirty plates were stacked higher and higher at the serving hatch. Instead of putting these away, more piles were started. Not very appetizing if you have to look at it all the time. Conclusion: it was quite nice, the food was tasty too, but I don't have to drive to Lake Phönix for that.

Very nice service and good food. Not out of the ordinary, but in a way that you rarely find anymore. However, not cheap either.

The prices seemed a bit high at first, but for what you get they are absolutely justified. Lovingly prepared. Delicious.

Here comfort meets modernity. I came here to have a latte and get a first impression. The service is very friendly and good 👍. I will come again! On December 20th we had breakfast here with 6 people and everyone was thrilled! The service gave us calm and competent advice. Breakfast for 2 people is highly recommended!

Westermanns Brasserie & Bar in Dortmund offers an elegant ambience on Lake Phoenix. The steak I enjoyed there was excellently prepared and tasted very appealing. The selection of dishes is diverse and places emphasis on high-quality ingredients. However, the fries didn't live up to my expectations; they were less convincing. Overall, it's a nice place for a relaxed meal, but you might want to make a different choice when it comes to side dishes.

Very nice restaurant, I ordered a Kaiserschmarrn and found it very tasty, one of the best I've eaten in the Dortmund area (maybe even North Rhine-Westphalia). Food: Kaiserschmarrn was excellent Service: The service was also very nice and immediately available. Atmosphere: Very nice, the interior furnishings and the view of Lake Phoenix are wonderful. The only mango in this case would be that the Kaiserschmarrn cost 16.5€, which is quite a high price (perhaps 2-3 euros less would be more suitable), but in this case you can also accept that because the Kaiserschmarrn is really top and good was. I will visit this restaurant again, it deserves 5 stars.

That was very special. Service was great, breakfast was great. Not exactly cheap, but correct. There was a brochure about what else they were offering. That looked really excellent. All in all it was really very good.

Perfect - we spontaneously went there with our dog on Sunday and enjoyed a second breakfast in a lovely atmosphere. The poached eggs with salmon are a delight. Friendly and accommodating, the water for our dog was ready before we sat down. Gladly again at any time.

Unfortunately our visit was very disappointing. The service was rude and unprofessional. The menu was thrown at our table without a greeting, and when we politely asked if the table could be wiped down we were only met with an annoyed look. In addition, there was no explanation whatsoever about the cakes or other dishes on offer, and no suggestions were made. In the end we didn't feel like it anymore and only took what we needed. In comparison, the restaurant next door offers significantly better service and far more friendliness.

We used to go to Westermanns on Kaiserstrasse very often and were always happy there At Lake Phönix we were surprised at how prices were raised, e.g. B a hamburger for €27.90. Of course we didn't take it because it was completely overpriced. In our opinion, the price-performance ratio for the other dishes is also not good. On our first visit we had the soft ice cream for dessert and it was no problem mixing two types. On our next visit we were told that the "boss" had forbidden mixing varieties and that we had to pay €4.80 for each variety. We then limited ourselves to one variety. By the way, we are a group of 10 people and will not be going there again.

Dear people!!! If you still have some self-esteem and are of the opinion that as a guest you should be satisfied with quality products and service, it is better not to go here. And now for the experience... It has always been interesting for me to eat at Westermanns am Phönixsee. I thought that due to the location and fairly high prices, you got a good concept. I was very wrong. There is no cold non-carbonated water, but there is warm ginger ale. It is brought with a glass which is 2/3 filled with ice. When it melts you have a pretty unpleasant taste. Afterwards there were 2 x fried fish (19.90 EUR/portion) with fries and “grilled vegetables” (6.20 EUR). My fried fish was disappointed itself. The ground was quite muddy and generally very tasteless. It was probably frozen beforehand or out of the package. Fries (definitely from the packaging) tasted very much like oil, grilled vegetables looked more like a frozen product from the packaging. The children's burger was actually the best of the range. Maybe because the rest was so bad. Then came the bill for EUR 64.80. The only reason I rounded up to 65 EUR was because I didn't want any change. The “nice” lady quite demonstratively put the glass to the side very loudly and gave me lots of change. Maybe there really weren't any bills. She left without saying goodbye. She also didn't ask if everything was okay. I think she knew a little more than we did. A few hours later there was still a very unpleasant aftertaste. Maybe the shop is just in a nice location for lovers of “fairground gastronomy” who like to eat the same thing. If this is the case, I apologize.

Service top, friendly, special requests are also taken into account and charged more than appropriately (additional change to cheese spaetzle instead of Pommer + €2.50 more than fair). Ambiance inside is very, very nice and comfortably furnished. outside with a beautiful view of the lake! Truffle burger very juicy, the patty is relatively small in relation to the bun. The bun really good brioche! Sauce is also very tasty, but the truffle flavor hardly comes through, even though it is visually obvious that truffles were used. The CordonBleu is freshly prepared and very good in terms of taste and craftsmanship and the price is fully justified! In terms of price, you can say that Westermanns is way up there for a brasserie, even taking into account the high rental prices on the lake. One dish that we didn't order, but can still judge from the fries, particularly stands out here. CURRYWURST WITH FRIES €13.90 So this dish urgently needs to be significantly adjusted or improved in terms of price. Even with a less pleasant atmosphere, for €6.50 you can get a significantly better product in the chip kitchen around the corner for less than half the price! The fries at Westermanns are run of the mill, they don't work at all and especially not for the price, even if the quantity delivered is very large. Better choose another side dish! The cheese spaetzle was excellent and almost cheap compared to the fries due to the small additional charge Overall, Westermanns is worth a visit if you're on a tight budget (€82, 2 main courses, 4x 0.2 Pepsi)

Went here for breakfast and sat outside in the lovely weather. The service was really friendly and the food was excellent.

Unfortunately really disappointing. I've been there twice now and on the first visit I realized that the quality of the burgers doesn't come close to the quality of the Lüner location. In Lünen there was a homemade, juicy patty while at Phoenixsee it felt like a mass-produced frozen patty 🤷‍♀️ (I had the truffle burger in both shops ~€29.90) On the second visit I had Jägerschnitzel and after about 3 bites I pulled a 4-5cm black hair (I have long blonde hair) out of the schnitzel breading... Then I was no longer hungry. To be honest, I no longer had any appetite for a free dessert from the kitchen. In the end the waiter gave us 10% on the rest of the bill, but well… I didn't think that was really appropriate 🤷‍♀️ (2x passion fruit spritzer and 1x currywurst from my friend = €22.90-10%… so €2.29 discount for a hair in the food... I would have been happier if they had bought me my spritzer, but well, I guess that's not possible. The waiter, who we were only allowed to point out when we wanted to pay, that we had already come to the front and waited for his attention because he was on his cell phone, he noticed that 10% wasn't much for us... but well, it didn't change anything 😅) I expected a different level of quality here based on the look of the store and my experiences in Lünen and I was really disappointed 🤷‍♀️

The waitress doesn't know the card and covers up her inability with an incorrect explanation; This is compensated by inappropriate silliness on a first-name basis (I'm 70 years old). Training would be appropriate.

8.50 p.m. - The kitchen closed - no greeting at all. Maybe that was the greeting. When we asked if we could sit outside, the waitress (male) said quite briskly that he was no longer serving outside. When asked whether we should go to the Porto (next door), he cheekily said again, “It’s fine.” We live right by the lake and will avoid this store in the near future.

Looks like it's from Maggiee. Or have already eaten it. Everything is just a can, nothing fresh. Typically ready-made food. Especially for the price. The view of the former ruins doesn't help either.

Unfortunately the prices per dish were increased by €6 to €10. But there is no longer even a salad garnish on the plate. We were pretty disappointed because we often ate at Westermann's last year. Maybe you'll think about it. Increasing prices and reducing services is a bad combination.

The service is very unfriendly. We just wanted to find out whether the mustard sauce is gluten-free. This was met with loud groans and impudent departures. As a lifelong celiac disease patient, I have never experienced anything like this. Truly unbelievable!

Great location, very stylish and cozy. Unfortunately, breakfast was completely overpriced and the quality didn't make up for the price. Scrambled eggs with feta, which was barely there. The butter tasted like the fridge and the bread was dry and unfortunately boring. The normal breakfast was little and not outstanding, for similar reasons. It's a shame, we are often in the area and would definitely have come back under different conditions.

Large business in an L shape, located in a new district, on the water. Wide choice of traditional dishes to enjoy. Nice service. Very quiet when we were there (during the week).

Westermann is definitely recommended for a tour around Lake Phönixsee. Delicious cakes, e.g. Lübeck nut cake, creamy cheesecake, apple cake and other cream cakes, waffles, good coffee and courteous service in a nice atmosphere. Overall, worth the high price. The pancakes are also supposed to be very good... I'm excited to be able to sit outside with a view of and over the lake.

Had breakfast on a Saturday and it was a bit of a disaster. Do you have to understand why there is only one waiter and one cook? It took an incredible amount of time for anything to happen. We had to look for menu cards ourselves because no one came, and by the time we could order the food and drinks it had already been 15 minutes, let alone the time it took to get it served. We had to ask for the bill several times… Prices are also really high for what you get

Always a pleasure, both the culinary breakfast offering (finally something different😉), the friendly service and the cozy atmosphere. An integral part of my visits to the “old homeland”. And this has been the case for years, always with the same, very good quality!

Unfortunately, breakfast has become very expensive. The brasserie basket for 2 people from under 30 euros to 37.50 euros!!! We were always very satisfied. Service 1a! Very nice, friendly and accommodating. But unfortunately the pricing doesn't work!

Wir haben in ganz Dortmund keinen Platz zum Frühstück gefunden, trotz frühzeitiger Ankündigung. Und das nette Personal von Westermanns hat für uns extra Platz gemacht (6 Personen)! Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und die Portionen sind groß. Personal war sehr herzlich gewesen und im Laden war eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt :)!

Ja Ich war mit meiner Familie in der Westermanns Brasserie am Phoenix See und wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem Essen und dem Service. Das Restaurant hat eine schöne Lage direkt am Wasser und eine gemütliche Atmosphäre. Wir haben verschiedene Gerichte probiert, von der Currywurst über das Wiener Schnitzel bis zum, Cordon bleu vom Kalb und alles war sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet. Die Portionen waren großzügig und die Preise angemessen. Der Service war freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Eine klare Empfehlung für alle, die regionale Küche in einem stylisch-maritimen Ambiente genießen wollen.

Zuvorkommende, freundliche Bedienung die keine Wünsche offen lässt....

Bei einem Spaziergang am Phoenixsee haben wir (Sohnemann & Papa) uns draußen auf der Terrasse im Westermanns gemütlich gemacht. Ich wollte nur einen kleinen Snack, während mein Sohn etwas hungriger war. Ich esse gerne Tartar...dieser war jetzt schon mal ganz gut aber ich hatte schon einige bessere verkostet. Der Espresso danach war leider auch nicht so berauschend, bei so einer Kaffeemaschine muss viel mehr drin sein! Das Essen von meinem Jungen war super, die Nuggets und Pommes sehr frisch und gut zubereitet...und eine gute Portion. Er war auf jeden Fall happy und das ist doch das wichtigste. Klar sind jetzt die Preise wie das Ambiente etwas erhöht, liegt natürlich an der Lage wie auch am Publikum, es passt sich halt an. Mein letzter Besuch war es sicherlich nicht.

Ich war gestern das erste Mal in der Westermanns Brasserie am Phoenixsee und war restlos begeistert. Das Essen ist nicht ganz günstig, dafür war es geschmacklich richtig richtig gut. Super lecker.... Die Location ist toll, man sitzt auf der Terasse ruhig mit Blick auf den See. Begeisert hat mich auch der Service. Soooo freundlich, nicht aufdringlich, aber trotzdem extrem aufmerksam und immer mit einem Lächeln. Es war ein schöner Abend im Westermanns. Ich komme wieder....

Tolle Location, sehr nettes wie aufmerksames Personal. Aber Preis-/Leistung für mich nur ein „ok“. Cappuccino bestand zur Hälfte aus Milchschaum, was ich bei dem Preis fast frech finde. Dazu war er wässrig und schon ohne Zucker süßlich? Die Waffel für mich geschmacksneutral - da habe ich schon viele deutlich bessere gegessen. Unter anderem in anderen See Locations. Salat war lecker, aber für den Preis auch recht dünn gesäht mit Rinderstreifen. Currywurst meiner Freundin war lau. Ich würde es für Kaffee und Kuchen nicht nochmal ansteuern. Da gibts bessere Alternativen rund um den See. Schade, weil die Location ist echt schön.

Wenn ich mich dazu aufraffe Samstags auswärts zu frühstücken, dann wünsche ich mir etwas Bedonderes, oder? Das Glas Sekt und der Orangensaft gehörten sicherlich zum Besonderen. Was ich aber gar nicht brauche sind Aufbackbrötchen!! Der preisliche Unterschied für 2 Brötchen dürfte nicht mehr als 50 Cent betragen. Von mir aus kann der Preis auch um 1 Euro angehoben werden, wenn es dann auch lecker ist. Aber satter Preis und amateurhafte Brötchen passen einfach nicht zusammen. Ich bin sicher es gibt einige Bäckereien in Hörde, die bereit wären Qualitätsbröchen zu liefern.

Das Essen war lecker, aber das Brot hat mir überhaupt nicht gefallen. Dünn, trocken, nichts besonderes. Ich würde das Phoenix Brot von Grobe empfehlen und die Scheibe dann mit Olivenöl vorher anrösten. Dann gibt es auch 5 Sterne 😊

Essen war untere Mittelklasse, wozu es definitiv zu teuer war. Zudem brachte die Bedienung auch das falsche Gericht bei einem Gast. Hat mich leider alles nicht sehr begeistert.
