The server was busy eating his food at the serving hatch before he could bring me my drink. It wasn't a big deal, though; my food was heated in the microwave in the meantime, and the drink and food arrived together after about five minutes. The vegetarian Thai gherkin consisted almost entirely of carrots, and the rice sprinkled on top was dry. The ambiance is very nice, but I wouldn't eat here again.

We redeemed a voucher (two meals for the price of one) for two Jägerschnitzel with salad. The food was generally fine. However, there was a difference in the quality of the meat: while my wife's schnitzel was nice and tender, mine was unfortunately a bit tough. The service and ambiance were appropriate for the occasion. Overall, a solid experience with a slight drawback regarding the meat consistency.

We went there for breakfast, and neither the coffee nor the food deserves even one star. A "Benedict sandwich" with the cheapest bread, "salad" from a large pre-packaged container, carelessly thrown together. But the crowning glory: poached eggs that bore absolutely no resemblance to poached eggs. The breakfast looked so unappetizing that we left it. The staff was so unfriendly and incompetent that they neither apologized nor addressed the issue properly. Absolutely exorbitant prices for incredibly bad food/appalling quality. Yet they still collected a €10 tip. Absolutely terrible and not recommended in any way.

We had breakfast at Westermanns Brasserie in Dortmund, by Phoenix Lake, on Sunday. The breakfast was delicious; a wonderful mix of cheeses, cold cuts, and jams was served on a tiered stand. The service was excellent and very friendly, and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. We've already planned our next visit. Keep up the good work!

I visited the Westermann restaurant at Phoenix Lake and would like to share my impressions. My conclusion is unfortunately mixed: Service: During my visit, the restaurant was almost completely full, but in my opinion, there was only one waiter on duty. The employee was visibly overwhelmed, which, in my view, is not ideally organized given the number of guests. The service suffered accordingly under the heavy workload. Food: I found the food to be rather mediocre in terms of taste. Given the location and the restaurant's reputation, I had expected more. Value for money: I am critical of the pricing. Although the VAT (for food) was recently reduced, the prices remained the same. In my opinion, this price advantage was unfortunately not passed on to the guests, which I find very disappointing. Cleanliness: The restrooms deserve a positive mention. They were tidy and clean during my visit. Conclusion: Due to the overworked staff and the pricing policy, I will not be returning for the time being.

A fantastic breakfast buffet served at the table! We celebrated a birthday with 14 adults and 6 children (ages 13, 6, 5, 5, 4, and 3) and were delighted with everything from the service and food to the atmosphere. We're already planning to come back next year and thank the entire team for a wonderful morning!

I met friends there on a Friday evening and we had a table reservation. The atmosphere is really nice and the view of the lake is beautiful. We had to wait quite a while for our drink order to be taken. The same went for our food order. However, there was only one server on duty, who was responsible for all the tables. Luckily, the restaurant wasn't full, otherwise it would have been unpleasant. The food was tasty, although it wasn't piping hot anymore. All in all, I had a nice evening.

We celebrated a baby shower there over the weekend. It was no problem to have brunch with eleven people and even decorate ourselves. Great service! The servers were also very pleasant. We'd be happy to come back again; we were all thrilled.

We ordered a goose with side dishes for our St. Martin's Day dinner. Upon arrival, we discovered that our order was unfortunately waiting for pickup in Lünen. After a brief discussion, the goose was quickly prepared on site. My wife was given a drink for the wait and a glass of wine as an apology. The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and customer-focused. The food also deserves nothing but praise. Very delicious and we will definitely order again. Thank you for the first-class service, as you would expect from the main restaurant!

We were there after the football game. Even though the restaurant was closing, we were still well looked after, and the staff was very friendly. I had the salmon burger, which was absolutely delicious.

I would have liked to have a bite to eat on my bike ride. But a currywurst with fries for €13.90 or a burger for €27.50 was way too expensive for me. So I limited myself to a hot chocolate (with cream for €4.80). I asked for the hot chocolate without cream. The price was the same... If I ever had the opportunity to eat there on expenses, it would definitely be an experience. But as a "normal person," especially with companions, it's far too expensive for me.

A beautiful and quiet terrace near Lake Phönixsee, with friendly service. The food is very varied: the sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings (in August!) is rock-solid, and the salad is fresh, but I'd advise against the yellow curry.

The location is beautifully situated by the water, with a great ambiance and a large terrace. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. We had to wait 50 minutes for our food – and that was with only one cook for around 40 guests and one server. I felt sorry for him because he was constantly running around trying to please everyone. After 40 minutes, we were about to leave. When the food finally arrived, I had to laugh: currywurst with fries and a Caesar salad after 50 minutes – that's quite an achievement. Unfortunately, my salad didn't taste good. The tomatoes were very thick and hard, and the salad mostly seemed like it came from a package, a colorful mix. There was also a lot of dressing that didn't taste right. Overall, the concept didn't really convince me.

The main course was very good, but the pancake was sensational!

When my wife and I arrived at the restaurant today at 6:30 p.m., there was no one inside, and the outdoor area also seemed pretty empty, with only 20-30% occupancy. An older man with glasses at the reception desk/conditioner explained to us that there were currently no tables available, even though the interior was empty and the outdoor area was only partially occupied. When I politely asked where we could sit, I received an unfriendly, unhelpful answer: "It's not possible." This completely disappointed us and felt very unfair. Our impression is that the service doesn't live up to what you'd expect from a good brasserie: little warmth, hardly any focus on solutions, and an overall disappointing welcome, especially in clear outdoor areas. Given the empty tables, more friendly communication would have been helpful. It's certainly also of interest to management when customers willing to pay are turned away. I hope management looks into this matter.

It was my first time at Westermanns and definitely won't be the last. The service was friendly and attentive. The breakfast I ordered was great. I'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, parts of the order were forgotten. They also forgot that you wanted to pay. The Kaiserschmarren was good, but not very good for €17. The cappuccino was watery, and the milk foam must have been sweetened.

Unfortunately, we were completely ignored and left after 20 minutes. Several tables on the terrace were occupied, and inside, along with ours, there was another table for two. So, not very busy. After 10 minutes, my companion approached the lady working there and asked for a menu. She replied that it would take a while; she only had two hands. No problem; we had time and were relaxed. When she still hadn't come to our table after another 10 minutes, we decided to go somewhere else. It's a shame, since the ambiance is a nice place...

We were there for breakfast. It's a nice café/restaurant in itself. However, I wouldn't recommend it for breakfast. Unfortunately, the rolls were pre-baked and not fresh, and the bread was very hard. I definitely expected more. The salad wasn't fresh either, and it was pre-packaged. A shame! The staff and service were friendly and pleasant. The prices are reasonable, but I'd rather pay a bit more for fresh produce than for ready-made baked goods.

The ambiance and service were really great, but unfortunately, the value for money wasn't right for me. €30 for a burger with a hint of truffle mayo and fries is simply too expensive. It might just be my opinion, but that's how it was.

We wanted to try the restaurant today and we were there shortly before 8am. When we went in we were ignored by the waiter when we asked for a table for two. He rolled his eyes and pointed at a table in a very unfriendly way. That was the moment we turned around and left the store straight away. Therefore I can't give any further information about the food. Very disappointing.

Simply bad service. Not like in a brasserie. I felt like I was in a bar. The whole thing is a bit loveless.

I had fish and chips. A “crispy baked fish fillet” and “the British classic reinterpreted” were advertised. I received a pitifully fried, strictly geometric convenience product with McDonald's fries and about 5 ml of standard tartar sauce. Every hospital canteen can do better with this “new interpretation” 😂 - and for €18.50. Too bad, opportunity wasted.

Great location with a view of Lake Phoenix. We went to Westermann's for family breakfast on Easter Sunday. The breakfast menu offers great dishes for every taste. My highlights were the croissant with salmon and the farmer's scrambled eggs. The service was super friendly and very attentive. We'll definitely be back, and not just at breakfast time.

I was alone at Westermanns Brasserie and Bar today due to a business trip. I should mention that I arrived without a reservation. The place was three-quarters full when I arrived in the sunshine around 6:30 p.m. I'll start with the service. The friendly lady was really great. She gave it her all and practically ran from one table to the next. So it definitely wasn't her fault. Despite the stress, she always had a smile on her face and was very customer-friendly. However, I had the feeling that there was at least one person too few to wait/work at the bar. So, it took far too long for drinks. That's just a snapshot for me. This is my first time here and probably won't be back anytime soon for work reasons to form a second opinion, but I would definitely do it again if I'm in the area again! Now for the food. I had a Jägerschnitzel (hunter's schnitzel) with fries. The Jäger sauce was delicious. It didn't taste artificial at all, which is something I've had before. I can't complain about that. Unfortunately, the fries were very small and hard. They were also oversalted. The mayonnaise came in small packets, like you'd find in a fast-food restaurant. You can do better than that! The atmosphere is very cozy; I felt comfortable. From where I was sitting, you could also see the sunset, which was very beautiful. However, as the sun set, it got so dark at my seat that the tealight on the table illuminated my schnitzel. The place could definitely be lit a bit more. Most of the other seats are better lit. There's quiet music playing in the background, which creates a nice atmosphere. The next time I'm at Phönixsee, I'll go to Westermann's Brasserie and Bar again and would love to see the nice lady relieved by more employees.

Nice atmosphere, quick and friendly service. Nice location, great view. However, the menu (we had breakfast as a couple) reads cool and modern and leaves a lot of expectations. Scrambled eggs with country bread was satisfying and mainstream…. But far from extraordinary, the bread is ready-made sliced ​​bread (more like pre-sliced ​​discounter goods) and certainly not country bread. The presentation is also very mainstream and rather old-fashioned (butter separately on a lettuce leaf) Dishes are rather wildly mixed and more intentional than skillful. The muesli with fresh fruit and natural yoghurt for just under 9 is a disgrace: 1 quartered strawberry, 1 tbsp blueberries, 1 physalis. Prepared like in kindergarten, muesli simple, loveless and inexpensive mixture without seeds, nuts or kernels. And the yogurt is far from creamy. Unfortunately that was nothing The cappuccino was delicious, very small and very expensive (just under 5,-) 1/2 avocado fresh, tasty and nicely prepared. Without spices, but with herbs (?) for just under 5, - unfortunately not a real recommendation. All in all, kind of a “3”. Everything reads nicely on the map, but is not achieved in reality and is absolutely no better than mediocre. Too bad.

In my opinion, the selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes is too limited and drink prices are high.

A pleasant brasserie with good cuisine. The food we ordered (house currywurst, veal cordon blue and the Klaasik burger) was completely to our satisfaction. We found the ambience very good, but UNFORTUNATELY some mothers and their children around 2 to 3 years old mistook the brasserie for a children's playground, so we left the brasserie very quickly after eating. The waitress didn't intervene, which we and a few other guests didn't like.

We spent a lovely New Year's Eve here in a great atmosphere, with good food and matching drinks. The service was also attentive and present!

I ordered goose legs and breast for Christmas Eve. Delivered only clubs. Unfortunately the packaging of the red cabbage and broth was very poor. In a simple Styrofoam container so that the broth from the red cabbage ran out. For the price you can expect better packaging. A leg doesn't have any skin left on it. I'm disappointed.
