We were only there to eat. And that was very, very good! 👌🏻 My rump steak was excellent. Medium-rare to the point. 👏🏻 Crisp salad picturesquely prepared. The service was courteous, quick and friendly. 👍🏻 It's nice that there are still restaurants like Overkamp. 😍

We had an absolutely fantastic evening at Haus Overkamp! The food was absolutely top notch - we had goose, rump steak and game ragout, and every dish was truly outstanding. I would particularly like to highlight the rump steak, which was fried to a perfect medium rare and tender as butter – a real highlight! Despite the full house, the service was consistently very courteous and attentive, and there were no long waiting times, neither for ordering nor for the dishes. That made the visit particularly pleasant. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and comfortable, with a moderately pleasant noise level. The ambience combines modern style with rustic charm - very inviting. Haus Overkamp is in a higher price range, but the quality of food, service and ambience justifies the price in every respect. I can fully recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Every year we meet up with an alumni of former colleagues for dinner at Overkamp. The store is very large, but it is spread out in different and cozy compartments. The food is wonderful. The goose dishes are phenomenal, especially in the run-up to Christmas. Very good and extremely friendly staff. I'm looking forward to next year.

I can't say anything about the rooms. But the goose dinner is fantastic every year! The restaurant isn't really nice - it's rather very large, loud and has a somewhat antiquated interior. But the service is very attentive and friendly and the food is simply great. It's worth the journey for the best goose in the area

We were at the restaurant a few weeks ago. The staff, including the trainees (high praise) were super friendly and incredibly nice. Small deduction, the head waiter at our table was a bit slow, but ok, we drink quickly too. The food was great. Really very very tasty. The cake was a poem. The price was a little higher, but the portions were still ok. As with expensive restaurants, there was no need for the chip shop around the corner. I can't say anything about the hotel or room since we didn't stay overnight. A highlight in Dortmund.

We had goose. Ambitious price, €40 per person Goose was quite good. Red cabbage had a lot of clove. Unfortunately the sauce wasn't a goose sauce, it tasted more like a gravy that was too thick. Overall, everything is quite salty, in our opinion. Service was great but the store was way too loud and annoying.

I can't say anything about the hotel. My review refers to the restaurant. The food was absolutely top class. All dishes were of absolutely the best quality. The reason why there is “only” a 4 star rating is due to the service and the ambience. Unfortunately we were ignored several times by the service. It wasn't until we went to reception and threatened to leave the store that we were served. Unfortunately, the ambience was affected by the strong background noise. It was almost impossible to have a quiet conversation. Due to these limitations, I would normally give a 3 star rating, but the food made the most of it, as such quality is rare.

It's simply the best quality, steaks, Château Briand and the ox cheeks! Also a show when you watch the team at the counter, and all the employees are always super friendly!

This was definitely our last visit to this restaurant. The unfriendliness and arrogance of the senior manager is unbearable. You stand in line for 20 minutes for two strawberry tarts (€9.60), during which you can observe how unfriendly the employees are. At the checkout the employee is then told that she suddenly only accepts card payments for orders over €10. She also complained to the customer in front of me whether he didn't have any cash (€38.20). If the lady is not present, everything works without any problems with card payments, even for amounts under €10. So it's purely arbitrary because she obviously can't use the device. Dear Overkamp team - clearly show your payment methods somewhere, but above all, the repeated rudeness of the senior manager is unacceptable to us.

Although it is located on the main street, but at the back, forest and meadow, we only ate there so we can't say anything about the rooms but the food was really good and the staff were very nice and attentive, we will be back.

We actually wanted to buy some bread, were served by an older lady (boss), wanted to pay by card because we were walking in the forest and therefore didn't have any cash with us. There was only one rude answer: we don't take a card! And the EC devices were not defective! We were there weeks ago and paid for the apple champagne with her card, even though she previously said it wasn't possible... Why you can't pay for bread by card...

Beautiful rooms in the old forge, rarely so tasteful, comfortable and well thought out. Service was exceptionally attentive and friendly, Jochen at the bar was an absolute asset. Great atmosphere, we will definitely come back.

My wife had booked a studio in the new building next door for our wedding night. When we wanted to check in at around 4 a.m., we discovered that the studio we had booked on the ground floor was not available. We then had to look for our room, which was in the old building. On the other side of the street there was a note stuck to a door with a note saying that our room on the second floor can be reached on foot (my wife was disabled at the time). A notice a day before would have been nice. My wife didn't want to stay in this room. We took a taxi home that night.

I have been a guest of the hotel for a long time and am always impressed by the quality and service. However, during my last and penultimate service, after a long break, I discovered that the fried potatoes were apparently no longer made from fresh potatoes. Both times these were very noticeably evenly peeled and shaped. The taste is also more like convenience. Normally there were noticeably freshly cut potatoes, sometimes larger and sometimes smaller, sometimes square and sometimes round. Very unfortunate!!! At that time, the Cordonbleu had become noticeably smaller, although the price had become significantly higher. All in all, not as nice an experience as usual.

Schota, die beiden Kinder kostenfrei lt. Tagesangebot zu berücksichtigen. Sie bezweifelte deren Alter und Größe gegenüber ihrer Mutter, die sich gezwungener Maßen bei derAngestellten verbal rechtfertigen mußte. Ein sehr befremdliches, äußerst unprofessionelles Verhalten bei einer Kommunikation mit Gästen. Dieses Erlebnis hinterläßt leider eine recht negative Erinnerung an das Restaurant Overkamp!

Beautiful place, just you need be local or have a car, very typical German delicious food well executed. The areas are not really clear we have to walk through the parking and members of security give priority a car over three years old kid, so be aware. I think the party area could be better organise and members of staff are be more professional not playing in customers area, a mean from other side you can see is good camaraderie. So far as I said food is delicious the place is beautiful with a pastry area with a selection of German cakes opportunity to try two or three, no one cake.

Restaurant: Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, but the waiting time for the food of 1 1/2 hours for a la carte dishes is not acceptable. Especially since the staff doesn't know anything about it. There is no bread with dip or anything like that. Only the mayonnaise, which was requested upon request, is brought 2 minutes after the dishes were ordered. However, this is not a service of the restaurant, but is charged at 1.50 euros. When it comes to the prices for the dishes compared to other restaurants, it makes the food visually more expensive because cents are saved or billed to the guest. Conclusion here you clearly pay for the name of the restaurant. Here it is not the customer who is king, but the restaurateur. Conclusion for me the rehearsal dinner for a big birthday party made the decision. We'll celebrate somewhere else.

Yesterday we were guests for the first time as we had visitors from England. We sat outside on the patio, which was very cozy and inviting. We were served quickly and didn't have to wait long for our drinks. The service was good. There was absolutely nothing to complain about from start to finish. The food came for everyone at the same time, was very well prepared and, importantly, hot! The quality was great and everything was very tasty and delicious. You can argue about the prices, whether expensive or not, but there is no quality for Lau and the staff also have to be paid appropriately. So it was absolutely fine for us and is worth recommending! Thank you very much!

We ate phenomenally good cake in the restaurant. The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very cozy.

Spät aber nicht zu spät: Wir waren zu dritt in der Alten Schmiede bei Overkamp und haben einen tollen Abend erlebt. Es gab ein einmaliges Sushi Menü. Dazu aber später! Wir wurden mit einem sehr guten Cremant empfangen. An überwiegend langen Tischen saßen wir mit fremden Personen zusammen aber nach kurzer Zeit hatten wir viel Spaß und gute Laune. Insgesamt war die Stimmung hervorragend. Dann wurde das Menü gestartet. Hier nur beispielhaft einige Gerichte. Dashi Maki Tamago (Japanisches Omelette/Dashi Brühe ). Sushi Moriawase Classic (Roter Thunfisch, Label Rouge Lachs Hamachi Tiger Garnele, Okra/ Avocado) usw. Zum Abschluss zum Dessert ( Mochi Praline/ Geeister Nougat). Insgesamt waren es acht Menüpunkte. Begleitet wurden die Gänge mit guten Weinen. Hervorzuheben ist noch der Service: freundlich, zuvorkommend, immer ansprechbar. Danke für diesen wunderschönen Abend. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Event.

Wir waren zum Abendessen in diesem Restaurant. Bestellt ein Wiener Schnitzel, mit Kartoffel-/Gurkensalat. Allerdings war diese Darbietung schon eine ziemliche Unverschämtheit. Das Schnitzel kam aus der Fritteuse, der Teller mit dem Kartoffel-/Gurkensalat ein Scherz. Der Teller war wie folgt aufgeteilt: 50% war Gurkensalat und die anderen 50% war der Kartoffelsalat. Beides kam aus dem Eimer (wie in Kantinen). Dafür 29,95 Euro aufzurufen ist schon krass. Zum Vergleich auf einer elitären deutschen Nordseeinsel (hoch im Norden) ist nicht nur das Wiener Schnitzel so gemacht, wie es sich gehört (mit Butterschmalz ausgebacken, so dass sich eine luftige goldgelbe Hülle bildet). SIEHE VERGLEICHSBILD aus dem hohen Norden. Auch der Kartoffel-/Gurkensalat ist selbstgemacht. Dazu sogar noch preiswerter.

We were wedding guests in Overkamp. The celebration took place in the rustic wooden hut, which was lovingly decorated. The service from two employees who were only assigned to the celebration was very good. The food at the buffet was very tasty. A service person looked after the buffet, so the buffet always looked appetizing and appealing. Overall, a very nice and successful celebration in Overkamp! The only negative point was the cleanliness of the plates. From below, typical residues from the dishwasher were sticking to all the plates, tactilely and visibly. Since they were stacked on top of each other, one or two plates got dirty from above. It's ok that 1-2 plates with leftovers come out of the dishwasher unnoticed, if all the plates look like that, it should definitely be noticed!

Very nice and clean hotel room with a great and friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing and the staff there is also very friendly and attentive (even the trainees). Bus stop is right in front of the door.

You had to be careful not to cut your hand when cutting things open, they are so small!? Two bites and the bun was gone! It's commendable, the things looked like they were homemade. We don't know whether they are kept so small on purpose or whether the baker had a bad day!? Otherwise I would say go to bakery school! For the price, we would have expected normal rolls. Therefore a star deduction! Would like to come back for breakfast, but would then have to bring bread rolls with us, which would then be kind of nonsensical. As already mentioned, everything was great, especially the service!!! A pity!

We spent the last hours of the year, New Year's Eve, there with an excellent New Year's Eve menu. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The table was very festively decorated, white tablecloths, cloth napkins, decorated floral greetings. The six-course menu put together for the palate. Beef tartare, celery-truffle soup, salmon ravioli, sorbet caipirinha without alcohol, saddle of veal or saddle of venison, and finally a dessert variation with a written greeting made of chocolate on the edge of the plate. My God, that was a culinary delight. The service at the table was simply impeccable. Thank you for the unforgettable evening. It should also be mentioned that lucky clover was distributed at the exit.

Good, friendly and humorous service from experienced waiters and waitresses. Not exactly cheap, but definitely good value for money. In winter there are the best geese ever.

Overkamp is a true institution in Dortmund. I have already been able to attend a few weddings at Overkamp. The service was always professional and the bride and groom were given a lot of freedom when it came to the decorations. The food always tasted very tasty and was more than sufficient. The choice of drinks is adapted to the host's wishes. My arrangements with Overkamp all worked out wonderfully. Definitely recommended as a wedding location.

Ich war in den letzten drei Wochen zweimal im Haus Oberkamp. Der erste Besuch in diesem Jahr mit einer Freundin, war gruselig. Wir wurden ins Bistro gesetzt und nicht bedient. Die Aushilfe/Auszubildende wusste nicht, wie sie sich verhalten soll und blieb deshalb lieber passiv. Als wir nach einer halben Stunde immer noch nichts zu Essen bestellen konnten, haben wir uns verabschiedet. Der zweite Besuch mit Familie fiel deutlich freundlicher und aufmerksamer aus. Aber auch hier merkt man, dass ein strenges Regime herrscht. Etwas mehr Lockerheit wäre für uns als Gäste angenehmer.

Went there again last night - and as always, 100% satisfied! We have been there many times. As a couple, with a child or even in a larger group. The service is wonderful, the staff are always very friendly and “work their heels off”. What you get from the kitchen is first class from starters to dessert! With the schnitzel, the breading has "waves", the hollandaise is "hand-beaten", the desserts are a dream...where else can you get something like that today, in times when gastronomy has become so difficult (shortage of staff and skilled workers!). The fact that in such a large company a mistake can be made or something is forgotten or takes a moment shouldn't be a major problem! Only people work there - and they give their absolute best, you can feel it. Our guests from Italy and Gelsenkirchen yesterday (yes, you even travel from the Forbidden City🤭) definitely felt very comfortable and were completely satisfied - and so were we - once again. We look forward to many more wonderful evenings with and with the entire “Team Overkamp”. Thank you very much for a very nice evening! 🫶🏼

I don't know the rooms at Oberkamp. Because: I live nearby. The restaurant is first class and that's why it's always busy. The kitchen is excellent and the serving staff impresses with their consistent friendliness and patience. Can only be highly recommended!

Not recommendable! We had booked for breakfast today and wanted to have something for lunch later. The reception was friendly. But you weren't allowed to sit in the nice open spaces next to the breakfast buffet; you had to go into a room with a fake fire and incredibly uncomfortable seats. The price/performance ratio was underground. On the phone they promised egg dishes would be brought to the table. Since I was on crutches, that would have been nice. but that wasn't the case. Then we were forced to change tables. At lunch we should order quickly. We then got some soup for €8.50 per person that looked and tasted like a packet of soup. A colleague spilled the soup over him and the waiter ignored the fact that the cup was half empty. The coffee was bad. the orange juice wasn't fresh and the apple juice spritzer wasn't fresh either. 190€ for 4 extremely short and moderate breakfasts and 4 soups is cheeky!!! The toilets are narrow. And the cleaning crew that made things cozy every now and then was extremely loud and arrogant. Every baker does it better. I feel ripped off here!!!
