We couldn't have found a better place for our celebration! In addition to the excellent advice in advance, the on-site service was very good and flexible. The food was, as always, extremely tasty. The restaurant is very quaint. There used to be a horse stable here as part of a disused mine. The architecture of the mine is absolutely worth seeing. A wonderful atmosphere both inside and outside in the beer garden. The service was impeccable, polite, quick and correct. The food was very tasty, we ate the Champion schnitzel with fries. One star less because the schnitzel was served without a side salad. That would have made the meal perfect. A look at the neighboring tables whets my appetite to try other dishes here. We'd love to come back.

Wonderful restaurant, embedded in a historical ambience on the site of the Zollern colliery. Delicious local and typical dishes, leave nothing to be desired. Super friendly service, you feel like a guest and warmly welcome here from the first minute. We are so excited that we will come more often. Great concept with the best price-performance ratio.

All the food was delicious. I highly recommend it. Food comes out quickly too. The food was seasoned appropriately, and each menu item was well balanced. I could feel the delicately cooked taste of the schnitzel, and this could also be seen in the garnish of the steak. It was nice to be able to taste carefully cooked food through the soft cooked flesh with a slightly crispy texture in the chicken breast of the salad. The characteristics and points of each menu were not overlooked, and the taste stood out. I don't think soy sauce was used in potato pancakes, but I was curious about how to achieve that flavor. The salmon served on the side was fresh and tasted even better with the sauce. The employees were friendly and had good manners. As the name of the restaurant suggests, the interior has a neat and tidy interior with a horse saddle theme. The lighting may be a bit dark for taking pictures, but it is a great place to take pictures from good angles using point lights. If the museum closes after 6 p.m., you can enjoy it at any time without an admission ticket. Next time I come to Dortmund, I think I will visit again.

The food and service were top. The ambience was also great. Unfortunately we had to wait 1.5 hours for our food and we had a diabetic with us. That wasn't so good. There was a large company there and the kitchen was not able to serve the "normal" customers. Big minus! Even the coffee on the house doesn't make it any better. The planning should be reconsidered. Nevertheless, I would come back just for the food.

Basically a great location, but it's way too loud. We were in the next building with a larger group and many guests complained that they had to shout at each other. The owner would have to install a few acoustic elements here, then this would be fixed. Food was ok, when grilling the service has to make sure to use different forks for raw and grilled food. Staff was great.

After being thrilled with the menu carousel in February, we are not at all satisfied after eating a la carte. The zander fillet was dry because it had been fried for too long, the sauce and the beetroot mashed potatoes were cold or lukewarm. Overall, the dish was seasoned unimaginatively. This also applied to the Königsberger Klopse, which were served with boiled potatoes that were too hard and pre-cooked. The first portion of potato pancakes was too crispy; it was probably the second time they had been in the pan. The second one was fresh, but very greasy. Overall, we felt like we had been served leftovers from the day before.

There are still restaurants that don't complain. A well-rehearsed service team gave us a lovely afternoon. Anyone who likes industrial culture will get their money's worth here. Nestled in the Zollern Industrial Museum, you are almost transported back to the time of industrialization that paved the way for the Ruhr area to thrive. So if you want something special, you'll get your money's worth here.

The food was quite ok; Unfortunately the service is not as attentive as you would like. The Kaiserschmarrn as a dessert is not recommended!

The ambience (outside against the backdrop of the Zollern colliery) is simply great. The service friendly and quick. The food was tasty (chanterelles in a delicious sauce with bacon cubes) - but the veal steak was very dry. Two to three minutes less in the pan would certainly have done him some good.

Super friendly and extremely attentive service! We felt very, very comfortable!! It was the second event (baptism and school enrollment) that we celebrated there! The only small deduction when it came to eating the healthy bowl: compared to other bowls I've eaten, there was a lot of rice in it and the avocado was very hard and therefore tasteless. I wouldn't order again. All other dishes, schnitzel, steak, currywurst, fries were very tasty!

We ate again in the horse stable and were once again totally thrilled. The food is rustic and wonderfully prepared. As always, the service was very friendly and attentive and the adjacent playground makes it a great experience even with children. Always recommended.

Coffee was pure rubbish, the apple pie was thawed and tasteless. 2 coffees and 2 cakes for €15.20. Never again. What the operators say about this is wrong. Coffee and cake were not good.

Wir haben hier unsere Silberne Hochzeit mit mehr als 30 Gästen gefeiert. Der Ort, das Gartenhaus, ist sehr schön, das Essen von der Vorsuppe über die Hauptgerichte und Nachspeisen bis zur Kuchenplatte am Nachmittag waren sehr, sehr lecker und der Service war ausgezeichnet.

We celebrated our wedding in the horse stable about a month ago and can only report positive things. The preliminary discussions were very structured; it was clear from the start that professionals were at work here. All of our wishes were taken into account or adapted to the circumstances. Even the decoration was lovingly arranged according to our wishes and ideas about the horse stable, so that we didn't have to worry about anything on the day. We also thought the layout of the rooms was great for our wedding, as the dance floor and seating area were separate. It was great that we could also use the outdoor area, so we could easily get some fresh air. The evening itself was fantastic. In addition to the wonderful food, which was praised by all guests and of which there was more than enough, the staff in particular was unique. Always friendly, always helpful, always courteous. All employees always had an eye for the guests and lovingly looked after everyone and everything. Even at a late hour, everyone was smiling and having fun. Our guests also praised the team highly. Overall, we are overjoyed to have celebrated our wedding in the horse stable. Many thanks again to the whole team for this unforgettable evening!

The Pferdestall Restaurant has been one of, if not the, favorite restaurant of the whole family for years. The warm and professional treatment of guests is unique. The food is always a pleasure. Here I'm talking about the menu, the buffets at private celebrations and on event days such as Christmas. The visit to the horse stable is rounded off with the special ambience and the entire backdrop of the colliery area. Even the (water) playground, which is within sight of the horse stable, offers everything for a nice outing for the whole family with water pumps and tracks, swings and a large sandpit. Delicacies from the kitchen, cool drinks from the counter and perfect service make the visit an experience “par excellence”.

The warm but unobtrusive service, which has become so rare, is particularly commendable. The food and wine were delicious, good value for money and in a feel-good atmosphere. We'd love to come back - with Lou-Lou ;-)

After a short walk through the museum grounds, which is worth seeing, on a warm summer evening, we took a seat at the table we had previously reserved by telephone - in the beautifully landscaped outdoor area, directly under one of the two winding towers. Such an ambience for dinner is rare - even in the Ruhr area - and is impressively beautiful. The service was - as always here - very quick and very friendly, and the menu selection was extensive. After a "greeting from the kitchen", delicious wholemeal bread with yoghurt dip, my main course arrived, the "Wiener Style" schnitzel with cranberries, salad and French fries. And for dessert I treated myself to a Tartufo “Special”, an Italian ice cream dream with Amaretto liqueur. I really, really enjoyed it. So: 5 stars all around!

We were in the horse stable with our regulars for the first time and were absolutely thrilled! Our great waitress Pina was super nice, but everyone in the service created a great and warm atmosphere. The “Pferdestall” restaurant can be found on the Zeche Zollern site. The beautiful terrace under the winding tower invites you to linger. The service is great. You feel welcome and you find time for a photo and some fun. Thank you, Pina 😉! The menu is exactly not for me. Not too much choice and not run of the mill. Something for every taste. Today I was here for the first time and I would love to come back. I had the baked sheep's cheese and tartufo for dessert. 😋

Wir sind mehrmals im Jahr im "Pferdestall"; wir wohnen nah, und seit Ende des Lockdowns wollen wir die Gastronomie stützen... Eine sehr gute Erfahrung machten wir im April 2022 bei der "Abschiedsfeier" für einen verstorbenen Freund, die wir dort ausrichten ließen. Das Buffet war vom Feinsten; Medien für die Dia-Show über das Leben unseres Freundes wurden gestellt. Seither waren wir als Paar häufiger dort und manchmal auch mit Freunden. Wenn man sich auf die – nicht so große, aber recht abwechslungsreiche – dauerhafte Speisekarte bezieht, macht man immer gute Erfahrungen. Bei dem wechselnden "Menu des Monats" kann man schon mal daneben greifen (Spargel zu einem Drittel holzig, also überlagert. Kürbisgemüse noch roh). Immer prima ist das "Krüstchen", der Zander, und "Steigers Lieblingsgericht", das ich aber eine Weile gemieden habe, weil die Beilage, das "Mediterrane Ofengemüse", aus matschigen Zucchini- und Augerginenstückchen bestand und - fürs Auge - jedes Mal nur ganze DREI Stückchen rote Paprika zu finden waren. JETZT ABER hat der Koch gewechselt: Dennis ist wieder da. Ein Hoch auf Dennis. Gestern Abend war dieses Gemüse knackig, die Stücke waren groß, bestanden aus (fast nur) verschiedenfarbigen Paprika, einzelnen Zucchini und grünen Böhnchen. Kein Matsch mehr. Eine Freude für Gaumen und Auge. Zum Niederknien. So muss Gemüse sein. Okay, ich bin ein Paprika-Junkie... Aber vielleicht klappt in Zukunft auch Spargel? Und Kürbis? Jedenfalls gebe ich mal fünf Punkte. Für das Gemüse von gestern, hauptsächlich.

We celebrated our son's wedding there yesterday. Unfortunately there are no 100 stars that you can give. From the food to the service it was simply brilliant. The sweetest and nicest staff we have ever met in the restaurant at such an event.

Today we were at the horse stables at Zeche Zollern for a wedding. The ambience, food and service were first class. It's rare to find something like that these days. We'd love to come back.

Great food. Unfortunately, Google misled us in our search! To be on the safe side, you should follow the Zollern colliery. After 6:00 p.m. access to the site is free. Beforehand you either have to pay 1€ “entrance” or combine your stay with a visit to the Zollern Industrial Museum!

On Sunday we were back in the horse stable for our birthday dinner. Again we were thrilled with the starter (antipasti) and the main course (Steiger's favorite) The waitresses were again very friendly and accommodating. The food was good, the potato pancakes were a bit greasy. However, it was very crowded in the restaurant and extremely loud, so conversation at the table was hardly possible. Unless you screamed, unfortunately!!

My colleague's attention was drawn to me and I went there as part of the #EXTRASHIFT#. I enjoyed very tasty asparagus cream soup and wine. Incredibly nice and attentive staff. Great ambience... Sitting outside is great because the Zollern colliery's cultural heritage winding tower is right there 🤩 Highly recommended!

A restaurant has moved into the former horse stables of the Zollern colliery. There is space inside and outside with lots of ambience in attractive surroundings. After three hours in the LWL Museum, a welcome change with home-style German cuisine.

It was our first time in the horse stables and my wife and I were more than satisfied. Food, service and ambience are simply top. Price-performance ratio is right. It wasn't the last time here.

Were guests of very good hosts. We had coffee, cake and cream puffs (which were a little too hard). Overall it was very tasty. The staff was in a good mood and always on their toes. We had very good conversations and felt totally welcome. We thought it was a good price too! All in all, highly recommended and always worth a visit!

Importantly, museum admission must be paid during museum opening times!!! So unfortunately you don't really feel comfortable there, the tone of the waitresses alternates between drill and drama, the boss comes out of the kitchen licking her fingers and serves food, the acoustics are often very bad, not very heated and the candles are paired with cold energy-saving lights, which was well priced accordingly then !

We took part in the menu carousel. The menu was good overall, not particularly innovative and therefore not outstanding in appearance or taste. ...there is more! I've had this experience elsewhere; at the same price. Unfortunately, the service at the table didn't say anything about the course served and only listed the type of wine that was served at the beginning. The first two courses just rushed across the table without a proper break...after that it got better because we asked for it. Nevertheless, praise to the kitchen and the service, it's a hard job!!

Very nice atmosphere and a heart for smokers. The lounge outside is really cozy. The food was very tasty. One small point of criticism: We weren't asked how we would like our steak. Unfortunately, it was too cooked for me. Otherwise very attentive staff.

After we got married in the old administration of the Zollern colliery in autumn 2023, the subsequent celebrations took place in the horse stable. In summary, we can say that the horse stable with its ambience, culinary arts and very courteous team played a large part in our perfect day, which we will remember forever. But one after anonther… Just a few months before our appointment, we asked the horse stable to host our wedding celebration. From then on, we were shown a lot of friendliness, good tips and a lot of flexibility from the horse stable team throughout the entire planning phase. We were able to plan our celebration perfectly down to the smallest detail and implement it according to our ideas. On the day of our wedding everything went as we imagined and agreed. Starting with the champagne reception after the wedding, through the multi-course dinner, to the snack at midnight, everything was just right. The food was first class, which is what we were told by all the guests. The service was attentive, friendly and always on hand to ensure that we and our guests didn't miss anything. Overall, we can unreservedly recommend the horse stable to anyone who wants to celebrate their wedding in a beautiful location and in a unique environment. Many thanks to the entire team for an unforgettable day!

Menu carousel 2024. After the last 4-course menu in 2023 did not fully convince us, we now tested again. We weren't disappointed: a mild goat's cheese, delicious parsnip soup followed by three kinds of fine fish and finally a light cream puff with curd cream. Everything was excellent (despite a few small bones) and the accompanying wines also went very well. Also worth mentioning is the extremely friendly service. We would be happy to come back...
