Very friendly service, with special attention paid to the children! Excellent! The food was very good and highly recommended. The only slight drawback was that the seating arrangement was a little cramped for our large group (family celebration). Overall, highly recommended! Many thanks again to the team!

I was absolutely thrilled with the Fröhliche Morgensonne restaurant! 🌞 The moment you enter, you immediately feel welcome. The ambiance is friendly, lovingly designed, and invites you to linger. The service was extremely attentive and warm; you can immediately tell that the food is prepared with passion. The food was simply outstanding! Every dish was freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and perfectly flavored. I particularly enjoyed the zander fillet with herb sauce—a real highlight! 🍽️ The value for money is also absolutely spot on. You get quality, friendliness, and an all-around wonderful experience here. I will definitely be back and can highly recommend the restaurant! 🌷💯

⭐ 1 out of 5 stars We had reserved a table there for coffee and cake at 2 p.m. on October 5, 2025, after a baptism – confirmed in writing via email. When we called after the service (a little earlier than planned) to ask if we could come earlier, we were suddenly told there was no reservation. On site, they first claimed the table was reserved for 3 p.m., then for the wrong day (Friday instead of Sunday). Despite presenting the confirmation, they just shrugged their shoulders and said something must have gone wrong. The owner repeatedly discussed the fact that we were apparently unavailable – even though there had only been one call, which we had even returned. A simple apology or "We'll sort it out quickly" would have been much more professional. Instead, they discussed the possibility of providing call logs. We finally got a table, but were told that cakes weren't available until 2:30 p.m. – ridiculous for a 2 p.m. reservation. When we asked what kind of cakes they had, we were told something like, "That one's chocolate, that one's strawberry, and that one's something with nuts." – that really says it all about the service. But at least we got cake before 2:30 p.m. We were regulars there with our family for many years, but since the change of ownership, the quality has unfortunately declined significantly. It's a shame – it used to be a great place to celebrate. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it anymore.

We were here for the first time today and were truly impressed. The welcome was very warm, and the chef was very friendly, always witty but not intrusive. A small menu with German dishes and Balkan specialties. We had Serbian bean soup and Königsberger meatballs. The food was simply delicious. There's also a lovely outdoor area. There's plenty of parking, either directly in front of the restaurant or free parking not far away on the street. We'll definitely be back, and certainly more than once 👍🏻😃

Five of us were there for the Sunday buffet. The restaurant is idyllically located in an allotment garden. The service was very friendly and attentive. We had reserved a table outside. The restaurant was busy. Now for the food: The buffet offered potato soup, a fish dish, cevapcici, a salad bar, potatoes, djuvec rice, French fries, various sauces, and a dessert (red fruit compote). The fish was well-seasoned and very tasty. The cevapcici could have been seasoned better and were a bit bland. Additionally, some were still quite raw on the inside, which can be problematic in high temperatures and with ground meat. The fries and the other side dishes were okay. Conclusion: Overall, the value for money was good. The ambiance was very nice. If the quality and selection of the food improves a bit, it will get a full five stars. Nevertheless. We enjoyed it and will be back. Therefore: Recommended

We, 11 adults and 3 children, spent a cozy evening with a very good and inexpensive meal. The nice and very friendly staff, a boss who kept everyone happy with his casual sayings. The food came quickly and at the same time for everyone. It goes without saying that it is child-friendly and dogs are also welcome. All in all it was a successful and very nice evening

Too bad, too bad. Here a former luxury steamer is driven at full speed against the iceberg. The menu was largely retained, although the dishes were more expensive, but unfortunately of significantly lower quality. The salt cake, for example, was once a flagship dish, more expensive, but it feels like it's only half the size and instead of being crispy, it's somehow rubbery. In another dish the meat was tough but tasteless. Even 3 weeks after the new opening, the new service is still not well-established. It was only when an “old” specialist came in, who thankfully took over, that things got noticeably better. Unfortunately the kitchen doesn't benefit from this!

It's not what it used to be. Service was nice and tried hard. I expected more from the kitchen. Currywurst, very watery sauce. Salt cake, dry and almost 1 euro more expensive than before. Inflation or not, 4.90 is not justified. Anyone can defrost then I don't have to go out to eat

I recently had lunch at the Fröhliche Morgensonne, I was very impressed, the food was delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly. I can highly recommend it.

We ordered a table beforehand and it had never been noted. And we ate a currywurst with fries that cost 8.20 euros, we ordered a second currywurst with it and we paid 19.80 per person. Even the salt cake with Mett costs 4.90 euros, over 1 euro more than before. We used to like to go there often, we won't go there again before the first and can no longer recommend it.

Yesterday we went there for the first time and I have to say that we are satisfied with the service and the food, everything was delicious. Friendly and smiling staff. We wish the new owners good luck and success in their future work.

We celebrated my 60th birthday here in a big company. Around 90 guests were well looked after by the friendly staff. The food was constantly replenished so that we were all full. The food was of a very good quality and everyone enjoyed it. In conclusion, you can say that it is very suitable for smaller meals but also for larger events and we would be happy to come back.

Ich war auf einer Fahrradtour dort und haben Kaffee und Kuchen genossen. Eine riesige Auswahl an Torten. Alles hausgemacht. Super lecker. Toller Service.

Es hat mir in dem Restaurant nicht wirklich gut gefallen. Es fing beim Sitzplatz an. Der war mitten im Gang. Alle mussten an meinem Platz vorbei. Ob rein/raus oder auch zur Toilette 🚽. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam. Das von mir gewählte Essen fand ich nicht so toll. Das Fleisch vom Sauerbraten war meiner Meinung zu fest. Und ich habe sowohl am Fleisch als auch in der Sauce die Säure vermisst. Die Klöße fand ich recht klein. Das zusammen spiel der verschiedenen Aromen fand auf meinem Teller nicht statt. Bei dem entsprechenden Wetter kann man auch gut draußen sitzen.

Wir kommen schon seit längerem hierher. Und so besuchten wir dieses Restaurant. Es hat uns hier sehr gut gefallen. Das Einzige, was unangenehm sein kann, ist der Trubel, wenn viele Leute da sind. Aber in unserem Fall wird es nicht ausreichen, also werden wir es bewerten.Wir haben dieses Restaurant bereits zu unserer Liste der Lieblingsrestaurants in Dortmund hinzugefügt. Es gibt sehr leckere deutsche Küche. Und sehr nettes Personal. Sehr schöne und ruhige Lage. Schöne Dekorationen. Es herrscht ein Gefühl von Wohnkomfort. Aber ich weiß nicht, wie es hier sein wird, wenn zu viele Leute da sind!

Wie kann es sein, dass so viele Rezessionen das Essen gut finden???? Mann o Mann, seit langer Zeit haben wir nicht mehr so schlecht gegessen, wie im Restaurant " Fröhliche Morgensonne". Das Hacksteak mit Bratkartoffeln und Pfeffersoße war dermaßen mit grob geschnittenen Zwiebeln überhäuft, das kein weitere Geschmack durchkam. Den Inhaber darauf angesprochen, meinte dieser, wir sollten uns nicht so anstellen und froh sein, das überhaupt Zwiebeln auf dem Teller sind Beim Verlassen des Lokals wurden wir dann noch als Spinner tituliert. Ziemlich frecher - und arroganter Mensch. Das einzig Gute, war die perfekte- und freundliche Servicekraft. Mein Tipp zu diesem Kleingartenrestaurant " unbedingt meiden !!!!!! "ABSOLUT NICHT ZU EMPFEHLEN"

Herrlich im Biergarten draußen Wir wurden schnell und freundlich bedient Leider ist es nun schon häufiger passiert, dass meine Bestellungen nicht so ganz stimmig angekommen sind.

Nie wieder.... Auf der Karte steht: Salatplatte, Bratkartoffeln und Spiegelei zu 14.90 Es gab einen unerwähnenswerten Beilagensalat, sehr grob geschnittene Zwiebeln mit ein paar allerdings wohlschmeckenden Kartoffeln drin mit einem Spiegelei darauf. Das Radler und die Bedienung waren am besten.

Sehr freundlicher Service, gute leckere Hausmannskost, schlichte Einrichtung. Wir waren mit 8 Leuten da, ausnahmslos alles hat gut geschmeckt: Schnitzel, Sauerbraten, Schweinemedallions, knusprige Pommes, krosche Rösti, Rote Grütze, Torte. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis war ok. Wir kommen gern wieder :)

Sehr gute Hausmannskost und für die Kaffeezeit hausgemachte Torten und Sonntags Buffet. Ist in einer Kleingarten Anlage sehr schön gelegen. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir waren heute zum Geburtstagsessen mit Buffet im Kleingartenverein Fröhliche Morgensonne eingeladen. Es war unser erster Besuch in dieser KGV. Wir waren vom tollen Service und der wunderbaren Hausmannskost absolut begeistert. Tolle Zubereitung der Speisen. Der Koch versteht sein Handwerk👍👍👍 Das variantenreiche Gemüse war perfekt zubereitet, nicht verkocht. Der gebratene Fisch war dezent paniert, angenehm gewürzt und schwamm nicht im Fett. Ein feines Senfsößchen, nicht überladend gewürzt wurde dazu gereicht. Putengeschnetzeltes mit frischen Champignon und ein rahmiges Sößchen harmonierten perfekt. Es wurde immer frisch nachgelegt, einfach klasse. Das Salatbuffett war frisch und vielfältig. Das Dessert, Rote Grütze mit Vanillesuce war auch gut. Die Kellnerin hatte immer ein gutes Auge auf die Gesellschaft. Getränke wurden rasch gebracht. Rundum Zufriedenheit an unserer ganzen großen Tafel. Es war ein ganz toller Abend. Ich habe vor längere Zeit schon einmal über meine Erfahrungen in diesem Gartenlokal bzw Vereinslokal geschrieben Es hat sich bzgl meiner Meinung nichts geändert sondern eher gefästigt. Das Essen ist nach wie vor sehr gut und lecker. Der Betreiber ist nach wie vor sehr arrogant und überhaupt nicht Gäste orientiert. Meine Begleitung und ich haben nach einem Blatt Papier gefragt das bekamen wir auch vom Besitzer persönlich IM VORBEIGEHEN AUF UNSEREN TISCH GESCHMISSEN !! Ich erwarte keinen roten Teppich,keine Kapelle oder irgendein anderes Empfangskomitee. Was ich aber erwarte ist das ich freundlich begrüßt und verabschiedet werde. Das einzig gute in diesem Lokal neben dem Essen ist das Servicepersonal... Ich werde dort nicht mehr zum Essen einkehren. Denn so ein Verhalten muss ich mir nicht antun.

Die Speisen des warmen Büfett waren sehr lecker. Diverse Kuchen bzw. Torten standen auch zur Wahl. Die von uns gewählten waren sehr lecker. Das Restaurant kann auf jedenfall weiterempfohlen werden.
