Restaurant Gambrinus in Dortmund

We were here on a Sunday afternoon. Every table was occupied and it was very loud. Some of the staff seemed a bit stressed because they had to change the supplies straight away. But still friendly. The food came quickly and tasted good too. But it's nothing special. The portions are very large. I thought it was a shame that you couldn't just order one scoop of ice cream, but only as shown on the menu (always three scoops). That's too much for a smaller child.

Great, warm restaurant for meat lovers! We have eaten there several times, traveling from Selm especially because the cuisine is excellent. The meat is always on point, and as a good eater the portions are really filling. The owner has been the same for years and is always up for fun. The restaurant is often fully booked, which doesn't surprise me. Therefore always reserve a table. Clear recommendation!

Classic Balkan restaurant of the delicious variety! Delicious food in more than decent portions at a very good price. Friendly staff and a pretty outdoor terrace complete the overall picture. It took less than 20 minutes from the order to the food on the table and you could bridge that time with the salad buffet. We will be happy to come back and try out more delicacies. Definitely something for meat eaters, as the quantities on the plate are huge.

We had a short stay in the beer garden of the house and can, despite that, report on the nice atmosphere and the good service. The food is also absolutely top notch. Buttery-soft meat with a tasty sauce is completely convincing! Clear recommendation from our side.

Great, Croatian food, my favorite cuisine, on a covered terrace, enjoyed the Sunday menu in a breezy manner, there was something on tap, attentive and friendly staff. Overall happy with the choice of restaurant. Great menu, can't imagine not finding something tasty here. We'll come back, we decided. Dogs are allowed and they will also be offered a water bowl. You'll be happy to come back again. It's also great that portion bowls are offered to take home any leftovers after the meal. Everyone there was really super attentive.

For us, the restaurant is one of the best in the region. Absolutely recommended and a great price/performance ratio, not to mention the quality of the food. The ambience is a bit older, but not down to date. The service is very good, not intrusive, but always keeping an eye on drinks. You should definitely make a reservation in advance, as it is not possible spontaneously in most cases. What is also a problem is the parking situation, as there are not enough parking spaces at the restaurant. Many thanks to the whole team!!

We've actually been regular guests for years; nowhere in Dortmund or the surrounding area can you find better schnitzel than here. The staff is also always nice, polite and accommodating, the only drawback that needs to be mentioned is that since everything here is really perfect, you can't drive by spontaneously but it's best to order a table 1-2 weeks in advance, which of course happens The quality also speaks for itself, we will be happy to come here again and again in the future 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Very nice restaurant with Croatian cuisine. Super nice and courteous staff who, even when the restaurant is full, don't let themselves be disturbed and are always friendly. The food is super tasty and plentiful. Price/performance ratio is simply top. The food and drinks were served very quickly after ordering. If at the end, due to the portion size, there is something left over, you will even be asked if you would like to wrap it up and take it with you. I personally found that very nice and have never experienced that in any other restaurant. (If so, you had to ask for it yourself). If you want to eat deliciously and in a nice atmosphere at moderate prices, you should definitely pay a visit to Gambrinus. Top.

As always a highlight. Food top quality and quantity. Drinks, such as Cola, are available in glass bottles. Be sure to make a reservation as the restaurant is busy even on weekdays.

Very delicious food, very generous portions, everything absolutely delicious. It could be a little louder in the rooms, but that's hardly worth mentioning. We will definitely go there again!

Friendliness is very important here - just like the portions. You can be a little intimidated when a plate suddenly comes along with an XXL quantity and you have to realize that this is the "normal" size. By the way, you are welcome to take home what you didn't manage to do (packaging will be provided). But you also get your money's worth when it comes to taste - with always fair prices. We have already planned our next visit. You should do that too 😊

The ambience is a matter of taste. The restaurant is clean and tidy. The service was very nice and friendly! The meat and poultry are of good quality. Very large portions. The croquettes and hollandaise sauce didn't convince me. The parking options are modest.

Ganz ok! Portionen waren sehr groß. Die Kombination auf manchen Tellern ( wir hatten eine Familienfeier dort) waren teilweise echt wild! Reis in der Tomatensuppe🤔 Sahne auf Gebackenem Cambert? Nunja, es hat geschmeckt. Ganz großer minus Punkt!!!! Die Toiletten sind nicht Rollstuhl gerecht, über eine Treppe in den Keller erreichbar.Dieses sollte man deutlich erwähnen bei so einer Gesellschaft! ( 90 te Geburtstag)

Was für den großen Hunger 😄 Ernsthaft, man sollte wirklich guten Hunger mitbringen. Die Portionen sind groß und absolut lecker. So mag man nur ungern etwas liegen lassen und sollte danach vielleicht etwas Zeit zum verdauen einplanen #Suppenkoma. Das Salatbuffet ist sauber und appetitlich, der Service ausgesprochen flott und freundlich. Gediegenes Ambiente rundet die ganze Sache ab. Im Sommer sitzt es sich auch gemütlich auf der Terrasse.

Geburtstagsessen mit der Familie. Wir alle waren zum ersten Mal dort. Ich hatte einen Grillteller, aber man hätte ihn auch Schlachtplatte nennen können. Sehr, sehr viel Fleisch, krosse Pommes und Reis. Dazu noch Salat vom Buffet. Alles lecker, aber diese Berge von Essen konnte keiner von uns bewältigen. Freundlicherweise gab es aber einen Doggy Bag und der Hund hatte somit auch noch zwei Tage was davon. Der Service ist freundlich, zuvorkommend und flott. Das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich mega, aber der Laden ist echt nur was für Leute, die total ausgehungert sind. Man benötigt eine Tischreservierung, weil es dort immer voll ist. Parkplätze befinden sich auf dem Grundstück.
