We travel the world a lot and enjoy cooking ourselves (and for our guests). Therefore, we were thrilled with the quality and variety of the menu. The food was sensational, with top-notch service!!! Yes, a nice location and friendly service and manager. I ordered Wiener Schnitzel, which consisted of two unpounded pork loins that unfortunately didn't see the pan for long enough. It's a shame. Next time, I'll point out exactly what the schnitzel should look like.

My sister and her husband celebrated their wedding at the Restaurant zur Waldesruh at the end of May. The evening before the wedding, we were there to put a few final touches on the wedding and also to eat there. I am thrilled! The food was incredibly delicious, and the waiters were all very friendly. On the day of the wedding, the waiters were also friendly, calm, and served all the guests wonderfully. The food (buffet) was attractively presented and delicious. As the maid of honor, I spoke to several guests and received only positive feedback about the location and the delicious food. The restrooms were clean, and there is also free parking. I look forward to eating at the Restaurant zur Waldesruh again on one of my next visits to Dortmund.

We celebrated our wedding last Saturday at the Zur Waldesruh restaurant and have nothing but positive things to say. The food, service, ambiance... everything was just perfect! We also received nothing but positive feedback from our guests. Thanks to Jacqueline, who always took the time to listen to our questions and requests. Thanks also to the kitchen, which left nothing to be desired. We look forward to many more visits with you.

Today we spontaneously visited the restaurant because we were looking for a nice place for upcoming family celebrations. Right at the entrance, you'll find a small, cozy bar where you can enjoy the company of the restaurant's own parrot. The tasting meal was completely satisfactory. We had chicken breast with rice in a sauce made with curry mustard from Schwerter Senfmühle. First of all, I could have thrown a ton of spit in the sauce, it was so delicious, but everything else was just right for us. The service was also excellent; even though it was our first time here, we immediately felt at home. Waldesruh stands out from many other restaurants, starting with the table decorations. The menu offers something for every taste; it was important to us that there were options for vegetarians and those who want to avoid pork, which would be ideal for future family gatherings. They also offer a hall for large family celebrations, a bowling alley, and an outdoor area with a few tables. The restaurant has a large parking lot, and overall, everything looks clean and well-maintained. It was our first time here, but it won't be our last.

Update from May 15, 2025: In about two weeks, we'll be celebrating our wedding at Waldesruh, and what can I say: Since we checked out the venue at Easter last year, we've eaten here several times and can probably count ourselves regulars by now. No matter what we've eaten so far, everything tastes simply delicious. The quality and hospitality are always top-notch here. Thank you for the many wonderful hours we've been able to spend with the Lehr family. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update from August 17, 2024: We visited the Waldesruh restaurant again today, and the food was once again excellent. Despite the full house, the service was very patient and always there to help. Thank you for your hospitality. We're already looking forward to our next visit. :-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We were there a week ago to check out the venue for our upcoming wedding reception. They really took their time with us, showed us everything, and explained everything to us. We also ate there on this occasion and can only give positive feedback. We and the children really enjoyed the food. We'll be back soon and look forward to (hopefully) celebrating our wedding there. 🥰

Zur Waldesruh is a home-style restaurant. The ambience is fine, you shouldn't expect anything stylish. The parrot in front of the counter is very unusual. The service immediately makes up for the small drawback in the ambience: super friendly and attentive, always with a smile, really great. The food is great, it tastes really tasty and the price-performance ratio is very good. They have a nice selection of fruit brandies and the espresso was great. Absolute recommendation.

A wonderful gem of a restaurant! Very friendly staff, excellent cuisine, a pleasant atmosphere - an absolute recommendation. Plus absolutely fair prices for what you get. The menu is not overly full and the dishes on offer are perfectly prepared. And an African gray parrot lives here :o) There is also a large hall for celebrations. In the dark season the parking lot is not well lit, which may not be ideal for older people. However, this is complaining at a very high level. Definitely go there once!

The Gaststätte zur Waldesruhe in Dortmund is a real gem that I would like to recommend to everyone. From the moment we entered we felt welcome in the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The decor radiates warmth and creates a perfect backdrop for an enjoyable meal. A big compliment goes to the boss Jacqueline. Her passion for excellent service and attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the restaurant. She greeted us personally, which made our evening that much more special. Their commitment and professionalism are impressive and contribute significantly to the pleasant atmosphere. Also worth mentioning is the wonderful employee Sharon. Her friendly nature and her attentiveness rounded off our evening perfectly. She was always on hand to assist us with food and drink recommendations, and her bright smile made the service particularly pleasant. Sharon knows how to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes guests feel particularly well cared for. The dining experience was also outstanding. The dishes were of high quality, lovingly prepared and a real culinary delight. You can tell that they cook here with fresh ingredients and a great deal of passion. Overall, our visit to the Gaststätte zur Waldesruhe was a complete success. Jacqueline and Sharon made sure that we felt completely at home with their first-class service and warm manner. The service is fun and nice and we liked the atmosphere and the bowling alley. We didn't like the schnitzels because they were very fatty and not very seasoned. Unfortunately the apple strudel was only lukewarm. Other dishes may be better.

We were there on Christmas Day with a group of 10 people. Everyone was enthusiastic without exception, the food was excellent and so was the service. Unfortunately, you can hardly find such restaurants in Dortmund anymore with home-style cuisine and a dignified ambience. The Waldesruh is highly recommended - you'll always enjoy coming back there.

We ate here for the first time today and it won't be the last time. The service was very friendly and there was also time for a personal conversation. The food was beautifully prepared and extremely tasty, both the salmon was fried to perfection and the pork medallions were perfect. We were very satisfied all around and would love to come back.

The food is of the usual quality and very tasty. However, we were greeted with 7 drinks that were spilled on us. Furthermore, some items were still not delivered after they had been ordered twice. We then waited more than two hours for our food. The restaurant will not see us again in the future. Unfortunately.

There was delicious food, we had a lot of fun bowling and the drinks were brought very quickly and always in a friendly manner and with nice sayings. Be sure to try the meat in orange sauce, super delicious. The food was plentiful, the service throughout the evening was friendly and unobtrusive the entire time. We were allowed to connect our computer to the existing system and play our music all evening. We were kindly allowed to pick up our presents there this morning and all the decorations that my wife "parked" there. Overall, I can say that we were all full, there were plenty of drinks to order, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and all at a fair price! We felt very comfortable and we wish the young owners all the best and love. We will definitely come back, with the office and with friends to go bowling, others want to try the food and I think that some also want to celebrate there. Many thanks to the team at “Zur Waldesruh” Short update: Had a lovely meal with my wife today. We were there at lunchtime today, the service was great, super nice and the food was great, the steak meat was very tasty and the pork fillet with Calvados sauce was wonderful 👍 We were there on Sunday today, we had starter soup, sauerbraten and cake as a dessert, simple just great 👍

I can only recommend this restaurant. We meet there every month for regular meetings and there have never been any problems. The food is tasty, the staff is always friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is clean and well-kept. In short: big compliments to the owners.

Man bekommt dort um 19.20 Uhr zu hören, die Küche sei geschlossen, es gab keine Anmeldungen mehr. Geöffnet ist bis 21.00 Uhr. Und das Ganze mit der Freundlichkeit eines Geldeintreibers.Das war früher mal anders. Never ever!

Viel Fleisch, leckere Sauce. Die Teller sind lieblos angerichtet. Für jemanden der Hunger hat okay, leider nichts für Feinschmecker. Vegane Gerichte leider zu wenig Auswahl.

Gerne wieder Wir waren zum Mittagessen dort. Gute professionelle Bedienung, ein Koch, der sein Handwerk versteht. Das Essen war gut gemacht und hat lecker geschmeckt. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt, ein seriöses Angebot.

Das Schnitzel war meiner Meinung nach aufgetaut . Der Tisch für 6Pers. war etwas klein. Die Bedienung war freundlich und flott.

Extrem runtergekommenes Lokal. Von Ambiente kann man hier ehrlicherweise nicht reden. Ich durfte das vegane Gericht "Gemüseschnitzel mit Falafeln" für 16,20€ essen. Hierbei handelte es sich offensichtlich um Tiefkühlware (Gemüseschnitzel) vermischt mit passierten Tomaten und (6 stk) TK Falafelbällchen. Absolute Frechheit. Höhepunkt waren dann noch 3-4 Haare im Salat eines Begleiters. Die Bedienungen haben ein komplettes Gericht beim servieren vergessen. Leider kann ich kein positives Wort über dieses Lokal verlieren. Ich kann von diesem Lokal nur abraten.

Es war einfach spitze. Wir haben unsere Hochzeit dort gefeiert. Es war wunderschön. Das Ambiente ist super. Der Service super und total lieb. Das Essen war einfach spitze. Wir haben uns einfach total gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Es war familiär und wir fühlend uns liebevoll umsorgt. Vielen lieben Dank nochmal an dieser Stelle. 😘

Beim Betreten fühlte ich mich schon wohl. Die Gaststube hatte ein sentimentalen Flair aus meiner Kindheit, war aber im guten Zustand. Die Wirtin war freundlich, zuvorkommend und es wird auf jeden Gast eingegangen. Sonderwünsche sind, soweit möglich, kein Problem. Das Essen ist ein Gedicht. Ich hatte Rinderfiletspitzen in einer Dijon-Senf-Soße. Das Fleisch war auf den Punkt gegart und die Soße hätte ich so weglöffeln können. Zum Abschluss gönnte ich mir noch einen perfekt gemachten heißen Apfelstrudel mit Vanilleeis. Alles in allen bin ich sehr zufrieden satt geworden. Ein Ort zum immer wieder einkehren. Bestimmt auch an einem Sonntag wegen dem Sonntagsmenü.

Heute wollte wir mal wieder ein Restaurant in unserer Nähe ausprobieren. Schon die Reservierung war super nett und klappte sehr gut. Angekommen bekamen wir einen tollen Tisch und wurden direkt nach Getränke wünsche gefragt. Die Karte bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas. Am Sonntag gibt es sogar eine Mittagskarte mit Menü. Wir konnten uns gar nicht entscheiden ,bei der leckeren Auswahl. Als Gruß aus der Küche gab es vorweg Brot und selbstgeThunfisch Creme. Die bestellten Gerichte waren warm und super lecker, der Salat knackig und das Dressing lecker. Zum Nachtisch musste es noch der Apfelstrudel sein. Warm und super lecker 😋. Der Service super aufmerksam und nett. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, da wir noch weitere Gerichte probieren möchten. Parken kann man direkt am Restaurant ,besser geht's nicht.

Wir haben am Wochenende unsere Hochzeit dort im Saal gefeiert und es war rundum eine gelungene Feier. Eine tolle Location, gutes Essen und sehr netter Service. Wir können es nur weiterempfehlen! Vielen Dank!

Service und Essen sind wirklich sehr gut, es ist alles sehr lecker und die Bedienung ist freundlich und bemüht. Das Ambiente ist natürlich etwas in die Jahre gekommen, passt aber irgendwie zur gutbürgerlichen Küche. Wir kommen immer sehr gerne hierhin und werden es auch weiterhin.

Freitag 17:10 Uhr, komplett leeres Restaurant. Abgewiesen da "alles reserviert" Typischer Vorgang in Deutschland in vielen Restaurants. Selbst draussen könnte man nicht essen wo nichts eingedeckt war. Sind woanders hingefahren und wurden im ebenfalls leerem Restaurant freundlich bedient & serviert. Man muss den Umsatz ja nicht erzwingen.

Wir haben heute eine Familienfeier gemacht. Sowohl das Essen als auch der Service war super. Immer wieder gerne. 🥰

Sehr leckere Gerichte, bei guter Auswahl. Familienessen mit 12 Personen. Ausnahmslos alle waren zufrieden, ich denke das spricht für sich. Gerne jederzeit wieder 👍

Gute bürgerlich deutsche Küche. Sehr lecker, Preise passen und freundliche Bedienung. Rustikales Ambiente mit sehr sauberen und modernen Toiletten. Es ist auf jeden Fall ein Abstecher von der Autobahn wert. Parken war auch mit Anhänger kein Problem.

Essen ist durchweg schmackhaft. Einrichtung und Auswahl an Gerichten sind allerdings ziemlich antiquiert. Der Service ist sehr freundlich. Man merkt, dass es ein familiengeführtes Restaurant ist. Die Preise sind keinesfalls zu hoch. Ein ehrliches Restaurant, in dem man gute bodenständige Gerichte in einer rustikalen Atmosphäre bekommt.

Prompter und freundlicher Service, umfangreiche Speisekarte, Fragen zu einigen Gerichten wurden kompetent beantwortet. Nach der Bestellung erfolgte ein "Gruß aus der Küche" (Thunfischsalat mit Brot - sehr lecker - ) Der zu den Gerichten gehörige Salat wurde vorab serviert. Das Essen kam für alle zur gleichen Zeit und war heiß und absolut schmackhaft ! Die Bedienung erkundigte sich öfters nach unserem Wohlbefinden, Getränke wurden flott gebracht. Preise für das Essen absolut akzeptabel ! Es war ein netter Abend in dem Lokal und bestimmt nicht unser letzter Besuch dort ! Die 5 Sterne von vor 3 Jahren hat das Lokal verteidigt !

Wir waren zum Weihnachtsmenue am 1. Weihnachtstag 2022 im Restaurant. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Die 4 Gänge wurden schnell serviert. Ein schönes Weihnachtfamilienessen zum Wohlfühlen.

Wir waren heute das erste mal hier und haben das Rumpsteak bestellt. Das Fleisch war sehr gut gewürzt und auf den Punkt gegart. Der Koch versteht sein Handwerk. Sehr lecker! Die Bedienung war ebenfalls sehr nett und aufmerksam. Preis Leistung stimmt absolut! Die Räumlichkeiten sind urig aber dadurch gemütlich und charmant. Wir kommen gerne wieder und waren sehr zufrieden. P.S. Etwas Musik im Hintergrund würde ich noch empfehlen

Die Soßen sind der Hammer. Qualität und Quantität stimmen hier. Wir fühlen uns immer sehr wohl und genießen das Essen und Trinken.

Waren gestern mit knapp 11 Personen da. Wenn man rein kommt, begrüßt der Felix ( Papagei) schon mit einem netten Hallo. Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl da gefühlt. Restaurant sehr sauber. Das Personal war super freundlich. Immer einen guten Spruch auf Lager. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Jeder Teller war leer und alle satt. Wie kommen definitiv wieder.

Sehr leckere Speisen. Ein kleines Minus war die Konsistenz der Sosse. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.
