Wen Cheng 1 in Berlin

Die Nudeln hatten eine gute, bissfeste Konsistenz, aber die Soße schien an den lokalen Geschmack angepasst worden zu sein; sie war nur durchschnittlich.

Das Essen ist fantastisch, das Personal super nett.

Man muss sagen: Das Essen ist wahnsinnig gut! Empfehlenswert sind die als weniger scharf und weniger fettig deklarierten Optionen. Unglaublich leckerer Nudelsud und köstlich zarte Auberginenstücke. Dennoch wirklich sehr kostspielig - auch wenn man die kühlen Bedienungen und die stressige Atmosphäre bedenkt.

Liebe alles an dem Laden!!! Die Portionen sind groß und jeden Cent wert. Biang Biang als auch Wen Cheng Nudeln sind super lecker. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und selbst die kurze Wartezeit vor dem Restaurant lohnt sich~

Essen eher durchschnittlich und für meinen Geschmack nichts besonderes. Die Wartezeit in der Schlange finde ich nicht schlimm, wenn man sich drauf einstellt. Aber die Kommunikation des (insbesondere männlichen) Personals ist einfach nur unhöflich. Ich habe absolutes Verständnis, wenn viel los ist - aber so passiv-aggressives Verhalten muss ich mir nicht antun. Meines Erachtens insgesamt nicht sonderlich empfehlenswert.

Also, dieser Laden ist so gut, dass ich ihm am liebsten sechs statt fünf Sterne geben würde. Der Hype ist absolut gerechtfertigt. Ich war schon öfter hier, aber dieses Mal habe ich die Orange Chicken Hand Pulled Noodles probiert, die es nur in Berlin gibt, und ich bin total begeistert. Ich habe die zweithöchste Schärfestufe gewählt. Der Gurkensalat, der zu Beginn serviert wird, ist auch super; wahrscheinlich einer der besten in der ganzen Stadt. Wenn man früh genug kommt, gibt es gar keine Schlange. Als ich gegen halb sieben gegangen bin, hatte sich schon eine ziemlich lange Schlange gebildet. Also früh da sein oder warten!

Leider hat bei meiner Bestellung die Hälfte gefehlt. Eine Telefonnummer zur Reklamation gibt es auch nicht.

Super leckere handgezogene Nudeln mit authentischem Geschmack. Die Zutaten sind frisch, die Portionen großzügig und das Chiliöl gibt den Gerichten das gewisse Etwas. Das Personal ist freundlich und der Service schnell. Wer in Berlin gute chinesische Nudeln essen möchte, sollte Wen Cheng unbedingt ausprobieren! 🍜😊

Hier zu essen ist immer Balsam für die Seele und den Gaumen. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist fantastisch, und das absolute Highlight ist das Personal. Besonders Lucia war so freundlich und zuvorkommend zu mir und meiner Freundin. Ich kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen – genießt das leckere Essen und die tolle Atmosphäre!

Erwartungen wurden leider nicht erfüllt. Bao war lecker und würde ich wieder essen. Die Nudeln kamen kurz, nachdem wir bestellt hatten und klebten als Kloß alle zusammen; wurden also nicht frisch gemacht und schienen schon etwas länger in der Schüssel gewesen zu sein. Das finde ich für den Preis unangebracht. Insgesamt in Ordnung, das Essen macht satt, würde für Preis-Leistung jedoch nicht noch einmal hingehen. Die Atmosphäre im Laden fand ich ebenfalls verbesserungsbedürftig, da die Musik viel zu laut war und man sich so nur schwer unterhalten konnte.

Massenabfertigung. Keine Begrüßung. Man steht vor dem Eingang und es passiert nichts. Kellner laufen an einem vorbei. Sagen kein Wort. Es sind sichtbar Tische frei, aber man soll warten. Dann dauert die Aufgabe der Bestellung ewigkeiten. Anstatt die Bestellung zu erfragen, werden erstmal Tische abgeräumt. Rein, raus. Gucken nicht mal. Sie wollen kein Deutsch sprechen. Nicht mal die einfachsten Wörter. Alles in allem gutes Essen. Für den Preis erwarte ich auch einen guten Service, sonst geht man woandershin.

Das vegane Biang Biang mit Aubergine war sehr lecker.

Es ist immer wieder schön, hierher zu kommen. Man darf sogar die schärfste Soße probieren!

Absolut empfehlenswert, die Nudeln sind sehr geschmackvoll und reichhaltig.

Ich habe drei Sterne vergeben, weil ein Kellner wirklich unmöglich war. Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir von einer netten und hilfsbereiten Kellnerin begrüßt. Ein anderer Kellner hingegen war ziemlich unhöflich. Mein Partner war mit dem Essen fertig, bevor ich überhaupt angefangen hatte zu essen, und während ich noch aß (ich hatte gerade erst etwas im Mund), kam der Kellner herüber und griff direkt vor mir nach der Schüssel meines Partners. Er hätte fünf Sekunden warten können, aber nein. Das ist für mich ein absolutes No-Go im Service. Ich verstehe, dass es sich wahrscheinlich um Studenten handelt, die nebenbei arbeiten, aber wer im Service arbeitet, sollte zumindest höflich sein. Und am Ende war er beim Bezahlen auch noch ziemlich kühl und unfreundlich. Das Essen war zweifellos köstlich und jeden Cent wert. Ich hatte die Lammnudeln mit Kreuzkümmel in asiatischer Schärfe, musste aber nach mehr Chili fragen, weil sie nicht scharf genug waren. Mein Partner hatte Auberginen mit veganem Hackfleisch, und es war hervorragend. Die Portion war angemessen, aber für den Preis nicht besonders großzügig (ich erwähne das, weil ich in einer anderen Großstadt lebe, wo alles teuer ist, und 17 € für eine Schüssel Nudeln in Berlin sind ein bisschen überteuert).

Die Nudeln waren sehr gut, aber für den Preis war die Beilage etwas knapp bemessen. Das Essen war zwar lecker, aber man ging trotzdem hungrig wieder.

Die Nudeln sind der Hit. Und Achtung, wenn da steht sehr scharf, meinen die das ernst ;)

Der Ort ist wunderschön und fantastisch, man muss zwar anstehen, um einen Platz zu bekommen ... aber das Essen ist das Warten definitiv wert. Es ist einfach unglaublich. Der Service ist super, die Kellner sind total nett und freundlich. Ich war total begeistert vom Essen.

Ich war mit 3 Personen da, wurden direkt mit reingenommen, und das essen kam gefühlt 5min nach unserer Bestellung, ein sehr besonderer Geschmack.

Nudeln sind nicht frisch handpulled sondern werden vor Ort lediglich aufgewärmt. Für die Menge und den Inhalt sehr überteuert und geschmacklich nicht überzeugend

Ich war enttäuscht, als ich erfuhr, dass sich das Rezept für Auberginennudeln geändert hat. Das alte Rezept war besser!

Das Essen war wirklich lecker und tatsächlich so scharf, wie versprochen. Am Ende des Abends bekamen wir sogar noch etwas gratis dazu.

Das Essen und das Personal sind einfach fantastisch ❤️ Eines meiner Lieblingsrestaurants in Berlin. Ich liebe die Tofu-Nudeln und die Bao.

The Biang Biang and Bao Buns were great!

Authentic Chinese food. A manageable menu, but everything is very good and the portions are generously sized.

What should I say? The hand-pulled noodles are simply amazing! You can taste in every bite how fresh and skillfully they're prepared! Perfectly al dente, aromatic, and incredibly authentic. The bao bun with tofu is also an absolute highlight: fluffy dough, crispy tofu, fantastic seasoning – a dream! And the cucumber salad? Fresh, crunchy, slightly spicy, and incredibly refreshing. Love it!

After our biggest disappointment at the larger branch on Schönhauser Allee, where the manager was extremely rude and treated us as if he were doing us a favour, we decided to give the older, smaller branch a chance. And I’m so glad we did. Despite being incredibly busy, everyone here was genuinely friendly and attentive. The manager checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was okay with our food, and her attitude completely changed my mind. Instead of giving a 1-star review to the other branch, I’m giving this one a full 5 stars. I eat at this restaurant almost every week and have recommended it to dozens of people. The manager and the entire team at this branch truly restored my trust in their service. They were all super kind and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Great quality and quick service as usual

The waitress was so rude to us. We were 3 people and they seated us near the toilet and when a table was empty the waitress first rudely warned us that the table was for 2 people but then she didn't even call us and made a hand sign indicating we should come. Even though we ordered with less spice, the food was so spicy so if you don't like spice, definetely don't order with spice.

Briefly it was bad. There was a bossy waitress and she tried to sit us in the bar instead of a table after her colleague said we could sit at that table. Additionalally, the food was too spicy. They tried to make their dishes tasty by adding more spice than they should. I preferred mild spice and I teared up because of the spice. I don’t recommend.

Super delicious and fulfilling, the stewed beef falls apart and mets in your mouth. They don’t sell beer but you can bring your own. Staff was lovely.

To my own liking, I think the noodles was way to thick, it could be nicer if the noodles were thinner. Staff was friendly, and the Q can be long, come early if you wanna skip the line

I've been there countless times and loved it! Recently, the recipe for the signature Wen Cheng noodle sauce, which made the restaurant famous and successful, was changed. UNBELIEVABLE! Now the dish tastes completely bland and unimaginative. The menu "warns" you about the new recipe (with tomato sauce). I won't be coming back until they bring back the original sauce. In the meantime, there are so many other noodle restaurants in Berlin offering similar quality.

The handmade noodles and the sauce, with its varying levels of spiciness, were spectacular. Authentic Asian flavor. The bao bun was also good. Highly recommended.

Pretty tasty noodles, if that's what you're there fore. Vegetarian friendly, lots of spice levels, not many options but that keeps it nice and simple. A little cramped inside but that's Berlin for you Would definitely come again.

Please reconsider bringing back the old W4 recipe. The new dish simply doesn't taste good, as the tomato sauce makes no sense with the other ingredients. Changing a recipe that so many regular customers come for, especially with such a small selection, is a very bad decision.

Staff was lovely I brought a good friend for the first time and felt quite bad for praising wen chen so much beforehand. The food was lukewarm at best, some strange marinara sauce was added (new?), the aubergines weren’t fried at all, just a soggy wet mess. The noodles were super hard and not pleasant to chew at all. My beloved tofu bao bun was wet, ice cold and looked flat and sad. I’m really disappointed.

Unfortunately, the service was very unfriendly, and we had to wait over 30 minutes at the entrance just to get a table. You should come in groups of two, not with more people. You can't reserve a table. There is neither Chinese nor German-speaking staff. My Chinese friend was treated very rudely. We had Chinese visitors and wanted to choose a Chinese restaurant, thinking that the good reviews would mean the food would be special. The food was standard fare. And the noodles were very hard. So, all in all, disappointing.

Because it was a rainy Berlin day the queue wasn’t too long, we waited 10 minutes tops to get a table. Service was friendly and warm, we had the chicken bao burger to share, beef noodles extra spicy and my husband had the cumin lamb noodles. I now get the hype, it was truly very yummy. One of the best Chinese noodles in Berlin 🤍

Every time we're in Berlin, we have to go to Wen Cheng. The cucumber salad is the best I've ever eaten outside of Asia. The eggplant is lightly roasted, which gives it a rich flavor and texture.

Wen Cheng is great! Very quickly it became a Berlin must haves. Great food and great environment.

Best Szechuan Noodles in town. This is the OG place. You can bring a beer from the Späti if you want alcohol. There sometimes is a little que but rest assured once you’re in you’ll be served quickly.

Okay, it's definitely a hip place to eat. That's why I happily waited outside for 20 minutes until a table became available. Maybe the dough just isn't my thing. Still, I would have preferred a more imaginative seasoning. I also think the price is more due to the reputation than the quality of the food.

Great texture: noodles and Beef Hot oil on the spices and herbs would level up the flavours, also asian level spicy was decent. Very low levels of sichuan pepper.

There's a line outside with average waiting time 20mins (for two people) and they don't accept reservations, but after taking a seat, the service's quite quick. Several options to choose from, food quality is really incredible and portions are absolutely satisfying. Such a delightful place.
