I think the place is overrated. Yes, the noodles are homemade, but that's about it. The food isn't bad, but otherwise, it doesn't stand out from other similar restaurants. It's also relatively expensive. I'm happy to tip for good service. Here, the service was just average.

Tastes quite good. The waiter was nice, but unfortunately the waitresses were extremely unfriendly. We felt very uncomfortable and won't be going back.

Phew, a truly exciting experience: communication with the staff is only in English, no alcohol served (you can get it from the Späti next door), no cash payments accepted, a rather pared-down atmosphere, outside on the street, although at least an awning protects from the rain. The real highlight for me is the chicken burger. The noodles in meat sauce are delicious, but I don't quite understand the hype about the homemade pasta: store-bought would definitely be just as tasty, but maybe not quite as rubbery. But otherwise, everything was good, spice level 2 is sufficiently stinging. The cucumber salad is also great.

This is my fav restaurant in Berlin. I visit when cheng like once every other week and I love their biang biang tofu noodles. The best part for me the limited menu to choose from and the quality of food that’s offered. If you live in Berlin or are visiting Berlin I highly recommend to visit this restaurant.

Got lucky and arrived when there was no line outside. Got the Biang Biang noodles with tofu and shiitake (the tofu cubes were big and plenty). Noodles are nice and chewy!

I was there for the first time yesterday. Very friendly service and the food was delicious. It's just not the kind of place for a relaxed sit-down on a busy street with a long line waiting for a table.

Possibly the best Asian food I’ve ever ate! I was speechless. I ordered the not spicy one (when cheng noodles) with beef and extra aubergine (these are insanely good!). Food was delicious, staff super friendly, food comes super fast! Just perfect! There was a line when I was there, but I waited like 20min tops. I think it depends on the day, but it’s worth the wait.

Went here because my friend forced me to go. And it is now becoming my favourite! The broth is really something and the aubergine add-ons are something to die for! One weird thing was that the noodle cut was really big, and I wouldn't call it noodle, more like cut-lasagna. The term "hand pulled" is also different from my expectations, as this definitely use a rolling machine. Just beware as you're enjoying the food, all of your clothes and belongings will smell tasty for a few days 😂

Can’t go wrong! But the prices are pretty inflated nowadays, especially since there are way more independent noodle shops offering very traditional options these days.

The service was good and the staff were very friendly. This chain has several restaurants, and long queues are quite common. However, we chose to sit indoors, and despite the nice weather, we were seated fairly quickly. I found the food to be decent, while the others in my group enjoyed it even more than I did. We tried the tofu bao bun, which I personally think could be skipped. However, the cucumber was a great addition to the rich, oily noodles, it balanced the dish really well. If you haven't tried this particular dish before, I’d definitely recommend giving it a go.

Food and portion size were quite good. Surprising how filling one bowl of noodles can be. Unfortunately the restaurant is quite small and most of the time filled to the prim. Waiting 10 - 20min for a table is quite normal at this place. But it was worth it.

Wen Cheng 1 in Berlin is the absolute place to be if you like really good hand-pulled noodles – but let's be honest: The beef there? Absolutely fantastic! The noodles are an experience in themselves, nice and chewy, freshly pulled, with plenty of oomph in the sauce, and a generous portion of cilantro. But the beef completely blew me away: incredibly juicy, intensely flavored, and so tender that you almost forget to chew. This isn't a side dish; it's the star of the plate! Yes, the place is hyped – and rightly so. The portions are perfect, and the staff should ideally speak English, but everything was quick. Anyone who's tried the Biang Biang noodles with beef knows: Berlin has a new noodle mecca. You can sit outside, but comfortable is something else entirely. However, I'm happy to accept that!

I've tried a lot of food spots, and Weng Cheng is by far my favorite. The Weng Cheng noodles tasted incredibly delicious! The cucumber salad is also incredibly tasty and really fresh. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Thank you.

The food here is delicious, no doubt about it. But we've never experienced such unfriendly service. After an hour, even though we'd just finished our drinks, the card reader was placed on the table and we were told in a very unfriendly tone to pay. We can understand that there are a lot of people waiting in line at Weng Cheng who also want to eat, but to force customers who have just spent €50 on a meal to pay in such a brazen manner is, unfortunately, really not service and could be friendlier. Then you should give the guests time limits or something similar.

Basically always solid, unfortunately after eating there yesterday I had severe stomach pain etc.

Every time I’m in Berlin, this restaurant is a must for me. I always order the lamb and cumin noodles — one of my absolute favorite dishes. The noodles are thick and chewy, just the way I like them, and the flavors are perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. Since there’s usually a long line, I always order pickup and enjoy it at home — it’s just as amazing. Can’t wait to be back in Berlin to have it again!

The food was great. But given the price and the amount of business the place has to generate (people are always queuing), you'd expect the tables and chairs to be unbroken.

It was the best dish for me during my stay in Berlin. It's properly spicy and has nice chewy texture in the hand pulled noodle. I just wish they had added more mushrooms as I could find only two pieces of shitake... It made me crave for it even after having finished the meal. Very yummy and flavourful! I understand why there's always a queue in this place.

I tried the Biang Biang Eggplant. Overall, it was delicious. Amazing noodles, and the eggplant? Simply wow! But the vegan mince? I had to ask the waitress if it had been forgotten. There was absolutely no way to see or taste it. And it's pretty annoying: the garlic is simply chopped and sprinkled raw on top. If you like it, it's amazing. I wish I'd known this earlier and canceled my order. Hence only 3 stars.

Heard a lot about this place. The noodles for me were pretty thick and chewy if I am honest and the prices quite chunky for the portion sizes. That said the food was very flavourful (I had the lamb and cumin) and the staff very friendly and attentive (even whilst a storm blew in as I was outside). You will have to queue if you time it wrong. Good, but not worth all the hype.

Delicious food, but unfortunately difficult table situation. Inside there are almost only tables for 2, outside there are also tables for up to 4 people. Understandably, a table will only be allocated if the entire group is there. The queues are long. Small menu but it's tasty. The food comes quickly, the staff is nice.

The biang biang noodles were yum but nothing like WOW. imo it’s quite expensive for what you get, also considering the potential long queuing time. Sadly, there were only two small strands of pak choi so would recommend ordering a side dish, e.g. the cucumber salad for some freshness. I like that they have good vegetarian options. They‘ve increased the prices quite a bit and are lwk overhyped imo but def still tastes good! There are better alternative restaurants that are keeping up tho but I know Wen Cheng is THE known biang biang noodle place in town

Well, something fantastic. Fantastic food. The pasta is a piece of cake, hand-kneaded and it dominates the dish. The beef is soft and melts in your mouth. If you are in Berlin, planning a visit, be sure to visit Wen Chen. Important: in the premises you can only pay by card.

Biang Biang noodles with beef and the cucumber salad were ok, not bad but nothing special either. In my opinion it is completely overpriced. But the service was super fast and unobtrusive, so that was a plus point

Best of best in berlin. Everytime i have there food. Its yum. Not even one time they have disappointed. Bao bun and biang biang noodles and weng cheng noodles. I like there lamb more, but my husband like there beef. So it depends on your taste. Dont miss there bao bun anytime

Noodles are delicious, okay 👌. But no service in German. And if you increase the price of Biang noodles by around 50% from €11.50 to €16.50 in 3 years, I find that, to put it mildly, unreasonable.

Very, very tasty, just unfortunately overhyped. Having to queue up to get something to eat in Prenzlauer Berg is strange, but it's nothing the company can do anything about. I recommend taking something with you, it will save you the annoying waiting time.

I don’t get the HYPE at all. As an Asian, I must say the noodle is far from authentic. The spiciness is so plain without fragrance and numbing. The noodle tastes overcooked, un-chewy and watery. There are thousands of ways to get better quality of asian food with better quality. 1 star for their braveness.

I've been here since the beginning. The sauce. is now being stretched, which was the highlight for me so far. It used to be very flavorful and intense, which made the food unique. Now it tastes watery. Prices have risen enormously within a short period of time. Price-performance ratio absolutely disproportionate

I was really craving these Chinese homemade noodles, but they were sold out near me, so I thought I'd try Wen Cheng. I ordered the noodles with eggplant. Unfortunately, I don't understand the hype. The noodles were extremely thick, quite sticky, and extremely oily. I know they're supposed to use chili oil...but that much? Unfortunately, my vegan minced meat was also forgotten, which I only noticed when I got home. Too expensive for that.

Staff was super friendly, despite the crowd we could sit pretty quickly and service was much faster than expected (less than 10’ really). Both me and my friend were very satisfied with our choices. If you usually don’t handle well spicy food I recommend going for Weng Cheng Noodles, cause Biang Biang is hotttt. Both are delicious! Will be back x

When it first appeared, it had a consistently delicious and addictive taste... After the 2nd and 3rd branches were opened, the taste was not consistent and in some cases, too much soup was made and it became watery.. Still, the taste is addictive.

Friendly, motivated staff. The waiting time until the food was served was very quick despite the restaurant being full. In terms of taste, our expectations were more than exceeded. You could smell the delicious noodles outside. Very welcoming.

Wen Cheng is a unique spot built around the philosophy of migration and hard work. The dish I tried was well-flavored and beautifully presented, though the portion size left something to be desired. Overall, it’s a solid experience with a nice atmosphere worth checking out.

Wen Cheng Junk-Food-Kette – unverschämt teuer. Jeder Vietnamese, Burger oder Döner kommt besser. Finger weg von diesen lächerlichen Eine-Sorte-Nudel-Läden. Die dicken fetten Bandnudeln ohne Raffinesse mit der Auswahl von gerade mal dreierlei Zutaten (oh, am Mittwoch gibt es noch Rips) zu zwei pampigen Soßen machen weder Spaß noch beglücken sie. Die Tunken sind stark überwürzt und deckt alles zu, so dass kaum etwas anderes zu schmecken bleibt. Da gibt es noch so 'n Taco oder Wrap-Ding – wow! Das ganze Konzept ist schnell durchschaut. Wenig Aufwand – hoher Gewinn. Das Dargeboten ist dürftig bis mies. Mit Sicherheit gibt es keinen gelernten Koch Vorort. Wozu auch. Alles vorkonfektioniert und das Eine-Nudel-Ziehen ist schnell jedem Billigjober beigebracht. Im Hintergrund läuft laute Mainstream-Mukke. Das Ganze soll irgendwie hipp und trendy wirken, ist hingegen öde und abgelutscht. Zum Schluss noch die moralische Keule sich unter Zwang für eine Prozentzahl bzgl. Trinkgeld entscheiden zu müssen. Ich arbeite selbst in der Gastro und gebe gern Trinkgeld, aber nicht unter der Kontrolle vom Boss. Die Menükarte ist selbstverständlich voll fancy nur auf Englisch. Wen Cheng ist Geldmacherei – nichts zum Wohlfühlen. Hinter her brauchte ich zwei Schnaps und eine ganze Stunde um den Mampf endlich Richtung Darm zu verabschieden in der Hoffnung, dass dort alles gut ausgeht. Never ever! Das taugt nichts und kann gern schnell wieder weg.

Our expectations were relatively high as we regularly see long queues at the door. The menu is very clear with two different dishes in 3/4 variations. There is a hot and a mild version. The hot version was very spicy because it had a chili pepper on it. The service was nice but actually doesn't speak a word of German. I think that's a shame. Overall it wasn't bad but the price/performance ratio wasn't right at all. Not even if the pasta is homemade.

Wen Cheng was one of my favorite restaurants. The food is just really fantastic. Yesterday I had the most outrageous experience I've ever had in a restaurant and I'm just stunned. I was not allowed to eat here alone. A group of two people behind me in line were placed in front of me and when I asked when it would be my turn, I was told in a pissed off tone that you couldn't just ask people to stand up for me and that they couldn't help me today. Huh? I've often eaten here and in other branches alone and in groups, I really enjoyed eating here and but I'll never leave any money here again, even if they let me. Are you crazy??

I went there yesterday with friends because one of them had been there before and recommended it to us. We were prepared for the queue and expected it to take 20 minutes, but it was actually more like an hour. I ended up ordering the Biang Biang eggplant noodles, and the others ordered the same with beef. I ordered spicy, but didn't find it spicy at all, while my friend, who had the same dish with beef at the same spice level, died. She confirmed this. My food got cold really quickly, and overall it wasn't so crazy that you had to stand in the cold for an hour. The drink selection was a bit disappointing, but we did get leftovers in the end and everyone was friendly.

Brilliant Chinese dumplings, biang biang with beef - a hit, plus super nice and super efficient service. We received three dishes after five minutes at most.

Nice restaurant and cute location. Staff is fast and friendly. The noodles were a bit too thick for my liking but still delicious and the seasoning was great! The chicken bao burger was so so good too. Good vegetarian options. I would come back and recommend this place.

We were there at 5 pm opening time, already a waiting line, got a table near the door. Small table with small stools side by side to the other tables, very little space. Door was open, due to conversation with waiting guests outside, so it was cold. Food vegetarian Biang biang noodles with aubergine. Noodles sticked together even though the sauce was very/ too oily. Aubergine had a great taste! There are only cold drinks, tea would be nice. But you'd have no time, its not a chill eating situation. You come, order, eat and go. The long waiting line outside doesn't make it easier to eat relaxed. The stuff is really very friendly!!! The stars are mainly for service.

IF YOU LIKE SPICY: go for medium, and top up if you can and want as you go. The “asian” spice level was too much.

Very authentic and very tasty. The aubergines in particular were really tasty and I thought they were almost better than with beef. We stood in line for 20 minutes which was a bit stupid but the shop is very small. But the food is delicious. The cucumber salad is also recommended.

Home made Chinese noodles- 10/10. Super comforting and thick Beef- 11/10. Moist beef that melt in your mouth Spicy in a perfect way I highly recommend!!!!! Also I got a free fortune cookie

It's great, the place is very authentic, it's worth repeating again and again! The only problem is that you have to wait in line because they don't accept reservations. But still, it's worth it!

Place with perfect Noodles. The portion are big, with good meet to noodle ratio. We tried both spicy and basic versions, both are tasty and the level of spice is ok even for people who are not a fan of it. Beware that most likely there will be a big queue. As a lifehack I would suggest to get there 10 minutes before opening and most likely you’ll get a sit. PS There is no beer or any alcohol

I am very disappointed, it was so delicious a few years ago. But now I paid 16€ just for oil, bad service and long waiting. Me and my partner, we both had to puke afterwards. We went at least 10 times here and never had that before. My partner dish had the half amount of beef than last times, and the taste was different. :(

The vegan tofu and mushroom noodles were extremely tasty, as was the cucumber salad. As a person with a comparably high spice tolerance, I ordered my noodles "Asian spicy", as in many other places the spiciest option is still quite mild to me. Only after I went to get an ayran from the Späti next door was I able to finish my food, but I appreciated that they actually served this to me as a European person :D absolutely recommend this place, it's worth waiting in the queue.

Die Qualität hat leider sehr stark abgenommen, vor einem Jahr war ich das erste mal da und mochte es sehr gern. Heute sind die Nudeln leider sehr dick und in der heutigen Bestellung (12.1.25) nicht annähernd gar was sie leider ungenießbar gemacht hat.. Das kam zum ersten Mal vor, aber dass sie sehr dick sind war leider jetzt schon häufiger:/ Für den Preis und ein Restaurant das (fast) ausschließlich Nudeln verkauft absolut mangelhaft.. hoffe sie bessern sich nochmal, dann geh ich sehr gern wieder!:)

I was on a weekend trip in Berlin and happened to walk past... when I saw the line of people waiting... I thought there must be something very good to eat 😋 ordered and didn't regret anything. One of the best handpulled noodles I've eaten so far, simply top 👍🏻

These were the best noodles I've ever had. I definitely recommend using the pasta with eggplant, I didn't know that eggplant could taste so incredibly good. But a little warning to people who can't eat spicy foods. I struggled quite a bit with the biang biang, even though they were incredibly tasty.

Extremely delicious noodles...I've been dreaming about this dish ever since I ate it. You should definitely make a reservation if you don't want to rely on luck. The dishes are beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients.

Wen Cheng 1 was a great find. Biang biang beef noodles in their menu was out of the world. But beware if you can’t tolerate chilli. We took spice level two as our spice tolerance is a bit high. It was really spicy but at an enjoyable level. The noodles are hand pooled in the live kitchen. Beef was probably separately cooked, which melted like butter in mouth. Noodles were topped with chopped garlic, coriander, pakchoi, chilli oil and beef. Recommended. We also tried the bao bun crispy burger. Which is seen in the photo. It was also delicious. But i’d go for the noodles again.

I had seen the long line a while ago and was skeptical. At some point I hired it, tried a bowl and I've been an absolute fan ever since! There are few places in Berlin where I experience such an explosion of taste. I'm happy to get in line now. Once you're in, it's super quick. Absolutely recommended!
