We have been regulars at the Hey Cheuk Lau Chinese Restaurant for many years and can recommend it without reservation. We consider it one of the best Chinese restaurants anywhere. I would particularly like to highlight the hot and sour duck soup – it has a unique flavor, is perfectly balanced, and is a delight every time. All the other dishes are also freshly prepared, aromatic, and of consistently high quality. The portions are generous, and the value for money is very good. The ambiance in the restaurant is simply beautiful. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and welcoming.

The staff is super friendly and attentive. The food is delicious and the portions are large. They even have a heater on the table so the food is always hot. At the end, they offered us a digestive; we chose the plum wine—so delicious! ☺️

We were there on Sunday April 6th, 2025 for my 70th birthday at 15 People in the restaurant. The service was great and the staff looked after us very well. This restaurant is highly recommended for celebrations. The food and portions make it highly recommended due to the quantity and freshly prepared ingredients.

We are vegans and the food was delicious. Besides the two main dishes, we ordered two appetizers: a cucumber salad with chili and garlic, and tofu with Sichuan pepper, coriander, and sesame. The place is nice, and the waiters are very friendly. Attention: on the menu it is indicated as 'vegetarian', but most of it is vegan, and it is accompanied by clear indications to the corresponding allergen, such as eggs, for example. Thank you!"

Two days ago I was eating there with my family. We were all very satisfied with the dishes we chose. Rice was added upon request. Friendly service. Prices reasonable. For 4 people about 100 € paid, main courses including drinks We look forward to the next visit.

I had fried fish in soy sauce with vegetables topped with cashews. The sauce was too salty and i finished the dish with the motive of not to waste it leaving all the sauce. Coming to the dish, the fried red fish fillet is covered with sesame seeds coating and gives a rich look and taste alongside vegetables and cashewnuts. Lot of rice was given. Note to restaurant: Please update the prices on the online menu. They still seem to be old prices

We ate there twice for lunch and for the money you get very good food. The rice varies somewhat in taste and consistency, but the duck meat was very good both times. The fried noodles with chicken were also very tasty, but for my taste they could have included a little more chicken and, above all, a little more vegetables. However, the negative aspects are only a minor point of criticism given the price.

Not recommended at all for vegetarians and vegans... Food was almost unseasoned except for a little soy sauce and only 2 ingredients, very unimaginative and tasted of nothing. The other options on the menu sounded similarly boring. Just more like starters, but not a full main meal. The meat dishes are probably good, but the menu could be expanded to include a few comparable vegetarian/vegan options with tofu or seitan.

Food was absolutely awesome, full of flavour and decent portions. Crispy duck with vegetables and cashews was probably best I've ever eaten. Service was good, staff were friendy and the restaurant was clean and tidy.

We have been visiting this restaurant for many years, hosting family celebrations there or simply meeting up for dinner or lunch. The dishes were always varied and very tasty. Unfortunately, this quality is probably history! Our last visit after a long break was a complete failure! It started with the fact that we had reserved for 5 people, but were seated at a table that was already too narrow for 4. Luckily we were later allowed to move to a larger table that had become available. The food was served quickly, but unfortunately it only reached the level of an Asian snack bar. All dishes, whether vegan, duck or fish, ordered with different sauces or styles, were served with the same boring vegetables in the same brown sauce and differed only in their salt content, which was so high that the food was barely edible. Duck and fish were too dry and, like the sauce and starter soup, also too salty. A watery garlic broth was served with the garlic dish instead of serving the duck in a garlic sauce. In our opinion, this has nothing to do with Chinese cuisine! The aim is probably to entice customers to drink more in order to compensate for the moderate prices on the menu with the inflated drink prices.

It is a Chinese restaurant in Pankow. The food is super tasty and the staff is very friendly and quick. We will definitely go back. Parking is available nearby and public transport is right outside the door.

Incredibly good taste and an absolutely honest team. Duck doesn't taste better anywhere. My wife lost her bag and its contents there and received it undamaged the next day. The operators are always nice and have their hearts in the right place. THANKS

Typisches chinesisches Restaurant, Essen schmeckt, eben normal, nicht superlecker. Aber das ist meine Meinung.

Super Freundliches Personal auch wenn man ab und zu mal wegen Getränke Nachschub drauf hinweisen musste! Essen war größtenteils Super Geschmack voll ausser die Suppe mit Kokos und Garnelen die war so Sauer und Süß abgeschmeckt das ich sie nicht essen konnte auch mein Vater hat sie nicht geschmeckt und er liebt normalerweise diese Suppe!

Uns war es sehr kalt in diesem Restaurant! Desweiteren ist uns aufgefallen, dass bei den bestellten Tischen, eine Tischdecke drauf lag. Bei den anderen Tischen leider nicht. Das hatte irgendwie Kantinenflair! Die Tische klebten, und die Wände waren teilweise verschmutzt!

Leckeres, frisch zubereitetes Essen mit sehr gutem Service. Das Ambiente des Restaurants könnte mal eine kleine Renovierung gebrauchen. Aber man muss auch ehrlich sein, auch das hat einen gewissen Charme. Sehr empfehlenswert 👍👍👍👍

Dss Hey Cheuk Lau ist seit vielen Jahren eines meiner Lieblingsrestaurants. Schon damals, als es noch in der Ossietzkystr. war, bin ich oft dort gewesen, hab über die Jahre viele Freunde aus dem In-und Ausland dorthin verführt, und alle waren genauso glücklich und zufrieden, egal ob beim Lunch oder am Abend. Wie schön, dass es diesen Ort gibt! Danke der Küche, dem Service und allen, die ihr Bestes geben, damit sich die Gäste dort wohlfühlen!

Das Essen war gut und hat meinen Erwartungen entsprochen. Die Bedienung ist freundlich und nett. Bei diesen Temperaturen sitzt man draußen. Was stört ist die vielen Krankenwagen mit Sirenen, die kamen schon oft vorbei.

Wir sind hier freundlich bedient worden. Sauberkeit und Ambiente waren gut. Das Essen fanden wir eher durchschnittlich. Da wir in größerer Gruppe da waren, habe ich mehrere Gerichte probiert. Könnte etwas feiner abgeschmeckt werden. Standard halt. Wegen des netten Ambientes, auch draußen sitzt man schön, kann man es dennoch (eingeschränkt) empfehlen.
