Great upstairs, terrible downstairs... means the food is very good, you sit comfortably in a beautiful, bright restaurant, and the service is relatively good. But how is it possible that the restrooms are so run down that you literally lose your appetite after using them? Unfortunately, the prices have recently gone up considerably, and the menu is also new. We found the old menu more original in Chinese than the new one. What a shame.

The restaurant is large, very loud, and not particularly cozy. The food is very good, top quality. You can go there for a quick dinner, but the atmosphere isn't that inviting and feels touristy.

Very authentic Chinese, it tasted good

Four of us had dinner and the food was excellent. Excellent value for money, and everyone was very satisfied with the quantity and quality of the food. The service was also very friendly. We would definitely go back on our next visit to Berlin.

This was the third time I've eaten here while visiting Berlin. The food always tasted fresh. The duck was always crispy. I couldn't eat it all, though. The food arrived within 10-15 minutes. The staff was very friendly. I had a pleasant chat with the waitress at the end. I'd be happy to come back.

It's probably cheap for a group tour... but I can't expect much. It was edible since it's been a while since I've had a meal, but it was hot. I ate quickly and left.

The servers are very friendly. Please order the Mapo Tofu Chicken and Egg Fried Rice. Just mix the white rice and fried rice that comes with the Mapo Tofu and eat it with the Mapo Tofu. It's truly heavenly. The dim sum tastes like it was reheated from a frozen dish. Don't order it. The wonton noodles are just so-so.

Very large place, with a somewhat lengthy menu. Prices are very high compared to Italian Chinese restaurants, but the portions are very generous: I would have preferred more choice in portion sizes, even at the expense of variety. Friendly staff, but service isn't the fastest.

Top-notch restaurant. We went to the Chinese restaurant for an early dinner. Accordingly, it was very quiet, and we easily got a table even without a reservation. The portions are quite generous and definitely worth the price. We all had the sweet and sour chicken, which was delicious. I ate both in the physical store and takeaway, very authentic. 👍 One day I wanted to eat minced meat tofu, but it was not on the menu. I noted on the order that I wanted to eat minced meat tofu, and the chef really helped me transform my mapo tofu into minced meat tofu. 👍The chef is great. The chef of this restaurant is a "treasure", I hope the boss will keep him. This way it will be warm in Berlin!

The food still sat so heavily in my stomach the next day. So much monosodium glutamate that I had to drink a lot of water at night.

But disappointed. It was a birthday. The online reservation worked. We got a large round table. The restaurant had a nice Chinese feel. Great for groups. But unfortunately there was no decoration at the table or anything nicely set up. The staff were friendly but rather reserved. The food was inconsistent. The hot and sour soup, which we usually love, was unfortunately not good. A strange aftertaste and consistency, and there was hardly any meat. Many of the dishes, including the starters, had a strangely old aftertaste. The crispy duck and the chicken on a hot stone were the best. And at the end it was a shame there was no farewell drink or something to show for us, which we are used to from other restaurants. It was even a birthday. OK to try once, but not again.

The atmosphere is fantastic and very traditional Chinese. The food is so tasty and the price is very affordable. I’ll be back. 🤗

We went there as part of a tour. There were more local people there than I expected, so I could tell it was a popular restaurant. The food was served quickly. The seasoning was also delicious.

A classic Chinese restaurant. Service was good, but not perfect. Many dishes on the menu, including some unusual items like jellyfish salad and a thousand-year-old egg. I ordered the classic baked chicken with fried noodles and sweet and sour sauce. The portion was large. Tasty, but the noodles were a bit too oily for me. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive. The ambiance was okay...

Whenever I'm in Berlin, I have to eat there at least once. The food is incredibly delicious, very authentic, and lovingly prepared. I had the pleasure of chatting with the owner; it's a family business now run by the second generation. I hope to be able to eat there often. The value for money is excellent.

Classic spot - nostalgic interior, very friendly efficient service and the food is delicious, actually spicy when indicated and comes in generous portions. Absolutely recommend the mapo tofu and eggplant dishes... If you don't want service to mix up what dish you want, then write the number down!! Lovely spot for an early evening winter dinner and great place to meet friends A+ :) The takeout game is also on point!

A Chinese restaurant where Chinese people also eat lunch. In my opinion, one of the best Chinese restaurants in Berlin. A reasonably priced lunch menu with soup. Typical Chinese decor, a cozy atmosphere, and very friendly staff.

The food is not good. I have eaten at many restaurants in Berlin. The service attitude of the staff is very good, but when I came to this restaurant, I was really disappointed. The service attitude of the staff was very bad. They were not friendly to the customers, but instead had unhappy faces. It was like they were forced to work by someone. I think the restaurant owner should review the service attitude of the staff.

A local favorite; we have been eating in or ordering from here about once a month since 2018 and are never disappointed.

If you want to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine in Berlin, the China City restaurant is in good hands. Tour buses of Chinese tour groups regularly empty themselves here to eat. This speaks for authentic Chinese cuisine; However, it also ensures that the staff's attention is focused on the tour groups. The furnishings are typical of a Chinese restaurant, although a little outdated. The food is extremely tasty. It reaches the guest after a remarkably short time. The selection on the memory card is very extensive. Some exotic dishes have not been translated from Mandarin into German. For those who like to experiment, it is worth asking or asking a translator. The drinks menu has something for every desire. I would like to emphasize what I consider to be a very decent price-performance ratio. I will certainly eat here again.

After yesterday's disappointing experience at a Mexican restaurant, we had major doubts today about where we would eat. During our search we came across this Chinese. Thinking that Chinese food is always good, we decided to take a chance here – and luckily so! The food was fantastic, the service friendly and the atmosphere cozy and traditional. After yesterday's debacle, this was an absolute relief. Had a great evening and definitely recommended!

CAUTION DANGEROUS! BECAREFUL DANGEROUS!! I ate at this Chinese restaurant on August 10, 2019 at 7 p.m. I ordered spring rolls as an appetizer and my wife ordered fried wontons. For dessert I had noodle soup with wonton and my wife had chicken. Everything so far so good. The starter was ok, but the service wasn't particularly friendly. There wasn't a single sauce with my spring roll. We hadn't finished the starter yet when the noodle soup was brought to me as the main course. My wife's chicken didn't say anything about hot sauce and she got her main course with hot sauce. In addition, her main course was served without a warming device, even though the food can get cold quickly and this is actually common in all Asian restaurants. BUT NOW HERE IT COMES: As I was eating my soup I noticed something very hard between my teeth while chewing a wonton and when I spit the food out into a serving dish I noticed a small metal nail with a piece of plastic!!!! I called the waitress and she said "we've been here for 30 years and nothing like this has ever happened to us". In other words, am I supposed to have put this nail in the dish after spitting out the food?! When I paid, the boss came and didn't even apologize! He only canceled my soup and we had to pay for the rest including drinks. God is my witness and I swear on myself that there was a metal nail with yellow plastic in the food. The operator's statement was "no ambulance had to be called, so everything is fine." I hope that the responsible food authority will listen up and check the food there more closely, especially when it comes to the wontons, because it can happen that one or the other ends up in a hospital with life-threatening conditions! What particularly pissed me off was the staff's attitude towards the guest. They didn't take me seriously, they just laughed at me, even though in such a situation, IMMEDIATELY removing the wontons from sale and complaining to the manufacturer would have been the right thing to do! It was probably a production error because they deliver the wontons already ready. Nevertheless, the waiters and the boss should have taken this situation very seriously! Children and older people eat there and can easily swallow something like that. You're lucky that this incident didn't have any criminal consequences, because this is much more than just "assault" if you find a thumbtack in your food. Conclusion: I still find it incomprehensible how one can react this way in such a serious situation!

As always, it was very tasty and the staff were super nice, and you feel very comfortable and welcome as a guest, we always like to go there regularly! Food tastes fresh and delicious, what more could you want! Until next time 🫂 the whole family is just sugar!!!

Super leckeres Essen, die Atmosphäre top und das Personal unfassbar freundlich. Zum Jahrestag hier essen gewesen und kein Stück bereut. Die Portionen waren recht groß, aber perfekt, um nicht zu vollgegessen zu sein. Dringende Empfehlung, auch für Paare ;) . P.s.: Alles Liebe zum 35-jährigen Jubiläum an die nette Dame von der Bedienung ;) !

Restaurant with authentic Chinese cuisine and ambience. Large amount of space. However, it is definitely advisable to make a reservation. Many compatriots also dine here regularly. Even larger groups are handled professionally and service-oriented. Great jellyfish salad!

In my opinion it's too expensive for what you get. The baked chicken with fried noodles and sweet and sour sauce, for example, was characterized by too much oil rather than good seasoning and everyone has to decide for themselves whether it is worth €16. The service was okay. It wasn't so bad that we were forgotten at times. We had time. I also found it exciting that the waiter prepared the table for us by simply turning over the dirty tablecloth from the previous guests. Environmentally friendly as laundry is saved. I won't eat there again.

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR "DOUBLE BAKED BEEF"... ...then this is almost certainly a top address :-))) But joking aside... I think pretty much everyone has their own go-to places for certain dishes. I've been in Berlin since 2002 and have actually been a guest there ever since. I always look at the menu and always order the same thing. A wonton soup first (it's okay and there's room for improvement) and twice-baked beef (that's sensational!!!). Generally a place that I always enjoy going to alone or with friends. Also very popular with the Chinese themselves, which is always a good sign of authentic cuisine. Price/performance ratio is really excellent along with very attentive and friendly service. I really enjoy being there and I'm happy to drive halfway across the city to do it. I also like to take an extra portion with me. A really good and solid restaurant, which is a pleasure. :-)))

We had a great evening here and tried many new dishes. Everything was very tasty. The thousand-year-old egg surprised us positively and will definitely be ordered again. The bamboo schnapps was also a good recommendation from the service. In general, our questions were answered very well before we ordered. We were able to watch the clearing robot perform a birthday serenade at another table. That was funny 😄

The Szechuan duck was tasty, but the Radeberger was unexpectedly weak.

Although I don’t know the taste of authentic Yangzhou fried rice, this plate is so delicious. There are even ancient dishes like winter melon meatball soup. The spicy chicken was a bit bland in the first few bites, but then the flavor became apparent.

Phenomenal food here! The food is great and the price reasonable! Randomly the ice cream was amazing too. It was a hit slow service because it was very busy due to marathon but usually I think it's fine.

An absolutely great Chinese restaurant! The dumplings were a real treat. Nice and juicy and perfectly seasoned. I also really enjoyed the wonton soup, it was full of flavor and very fresh. I would particularly like to highlight the Mapo Tofu, it was simply fantastic! The perfect balance of flavors, just the right amount of spicy and super authentic. Clear recommendation for anyone who loves good Chinese food!

I went here for a treat to end my trip, I would like to note that the waiter spoke and understood me perfectly. I ordered singapore noodles without the beef, she clearly wrote no beef and underlined it, she showed me the paper. I do not eat beef for religious reasons. I asked for there to be chicken added instead of beef. She clarified it would still be the same price, I said that would be fine. When the meal arrived the meat looked suspicious but I ate some thinking it might be pork , it definitely wasn't. The same waiter came to collect the plate at the end and asked if I didn't like it, I asked what the meat was and she said 'chicken, beef, pork and shrimp'. I said I clearly asked for no beef and she chastised me and said "next time say no beef or ask for no meat". This wasn't a language barrier. We communicated perfectly. I don't appreciate the blame being put on me like I did something wrong with my order, lucky I didn't have an allergy. Now I've spent the last night in my hotel feeling sick and throwing up. I haven't eaten beef for over a decade.

The food tastes decent. The lunch menu is cheap. But if a pensioner at the next table orders the duck, then has to pay for the duck from the menu and the waitress tells her that it was her own fault because she didn't explicitly order from the lunch menu instead of apologizing, that is outrageous and a joke. I'll eat somewhere else in the future.

Wait service was fine but the food was very bland. Even the sweet and sour sauce served with many dishes left me wanting to add something to it. They also charged extra for the sauce. Yes, stay away from the tofu. They used a lot of basic brown sauce…needed some Chinese oomph! Prawns are actually shrimp size too. Appetizer specialty -china plate was full of cornstarch and flour breading over the toothpick thin crab claw and shrimp balls.

The food, dishes, etc. are really authentic and delicious. People are very satisfied in Germany 😜 Chicken with saliva, stir-fried snow peas with bacon, fried beef with green onions, and the famous Mapo Tofu. The tofu is really smooth and the overall taste is really good 😋 Chinese staff are friendly ❤️ The lights in the restaurant are a bit dim and it’s a bit dazzling during dinner. The boss might consider adding some lights, haha
