As so often before, we were very satisfied with the service and the food. We really enjoyed the Christmas atmosphere.

Unfortunately, on Boxing Day (around 4 pm) it wasn't clear whether it was a private event. I had to leave Ingolstadt without being able to eat or drink anything. That's not what I call hospitality.

It's always a good and enjoyable experience when we're in Ingolstadt.

The food is always delicious – unfortunately, we had a bad experience with a server yesterday (December 13th) (short dark hair). We weren't served for 15-20 minutes after our arrival around 10 pm. So we got up and left without saying a word.

This should be illegal! Why? Because you can't get enough of it. The boiled beef was once again delicious – mmm, super tender and perfectly satisfying – and the savoy cabbage with horseradish was excellent. A real compliment to the kitchen; served, of course, by the friendly waitresses. Always a pleasure! 👍👍👍

When the craving for wheat beer really hits, head to Ingolstadt's city center, straight to the Weißbräuhaus zum Herrnbräu. As the name clearly suggests, they serve wheat beer and hearty food. You can even taste their specialization in isotonic, hoppy beverages with the first sip of their non-alcoholic wheat beer. Perfect for designated drivers, too. And although the staff displays a typical Bavarian work ethic, you won't get any strange looks if you order non-alcoholic; everything arrives at your table in a flash. What is typically southern German, however, are the pork knuckles on the menu. Delicious, plentiful, and at a budget-friendly price, just as you'd expect. With its vaulted ceilings and abundance of wood, the entire restaurant exudes exactly the atmosphere you'd imagine a traditional Bavarian inn to be.

The food was great, the atmosphere was typically Bavarian, the service was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food and drinks. Good selection and reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back!

Great service, great meal! I love the lamb and the beer. This restaurant is amazing! I ordered liver dumpling soup, braised lamb, and a beer. The portions were generous, the lamb chops and green beans were incredibly flavorful, and the beer wasn't too strong, even having a slightly sweet taste. If you're ever in Ingolstadt, I highly recommend giving it a try!

Everything was great: the atmosphere, like you, and the friendliness of the staff. The food was also excellent, although my pretzel could have been a bit juicier; I haven't been so impressed with the Bavarian pretzels so far. The restrooms are not wheelchair accessible, so it's best to check this beforehand. There's plenty of space and special rooms for large groups.

We went to the Weissbräuhaus for a Herrnbräu meal on September 30, 2025. We were absolutely thrilled. We had the cheese spaetzle and the brewery platter. Both dishes were truly a 10 out of 10. The meat on the brewery platter was super tender and juicy. The cheese spaetzle were beautifully creamy, and there was plenty of it. The service was always very quick and courteous. The ambiance is also really lovely. You really feel at home in a beautifully decorated Bavarian inn. I highly recommend the restaurant. If we're ever in Ingolstadt again, we'll be back.

A good restaurant with good food in a typical regional atmosphere.

A fantastic Bavarian restaurant, just as we imagined. We thoroughly enjoyed our liver dish and my partner's (black pudding and liver sausage) with the accompanying side dishes, and we would definitely order them again.

We wanted to have lunch there, but there was no greeting when we walked in. We sat there for at least 10 minutes without any attention from the three waitresses. When we got up to leave, one of the employees observed us but didn't say anything. Poor service.

The manager (I doubt he was the owner) sat up in the beverage station. He seemed troubled that he had to stand up and show us to a table which he didn’t really do anyway. He just pointed and said ‘round table.’ No greeting / no friendliness. We walked out. Didn’t like his attitude.

A very, very good restaurant. We were served very quickly and with a smile. The meal was excellent, very typical of Bavaria. My compliments to the chef and the staff who looked after us.

Lovely Bavarian restaurant. Beautifully decorated, friendly staff, and very good food.

We were there for the second time and sat outside in the pedestrian zone. The first time, everything was fine. This time, I ordered the brewery platter (1/2 duck, 1/2 knuckle of pork, roast potatoes, apple red cabbage). In short, apart from the pork and the gravy, it was a complete disaster. The duck was inedible, the red cabbage was microwaved, the fried potatoes weren't cooked through, and there was barely any meat on the knuckle of pork. Even schnapps couldn't make up for it. Drinks didn't arrive for 45 minutes after ordering. We won't be going there again.

We had a Munich schnitzel and a creamy mushroom schnitzel, with the mushrooms in a separate bowl. Both dishes were delicious and perfectly seasoned, not overly salty! The service was excellent.

If you want to enjoy hearty Bavarian cuisine in Ingolstadt, this is the place for you. The menu includes traditional regional dishes, as well as vegetarian Bavarian dishes and fish. We chose liver dumpling and pancake soup as our entrée and then shared a brewery roast platter. This included a duck leg, a generous piece of roast pork, and a knuckle of pork. It also came with red cabbage and two different dumplings. It was perfectly adequate for us after the soup. The pan soup was very tasty and well-stocked. The piece of liver dumpling I tried melted in my mouth and had a wonderful liver flavor. The roast platter was also excellently seasoned, and the meat was very soft and tender. The bread and potato dumplings were good, and the red cabbage was okay. My wheat beer shandy with cola was also well-mixed. The service was very courteous, quick, and cheerful. It's a pleasure to be a guest. I'd gladly go back. Just please put cushions on your wooden beer garden chairs. Then we'll be happy to stay longer.😜

Great food! It was my first time at Weissbräuhaus in a long, long time. I had suckling pig aspic! Perfect, everything as it should be. The aspic and meat were delicious and tender. It was served with plenty of onions and horseradish. Being a gourmet, I also ordered fried potatoes as an extra. They also served it with draft beer. Delicious, tastier, tastier 😄 My wife stole a few pieces from the plate, and I still felt really full. The price was also great. The location in the back courtyard was relaxed. The service was friendly. The wait time was also perfectly fine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I'll be back

Sunday evening 8:50 p.m. At the same time, another man sat down at a table diagonally in front of me. He was asked if he wanted a drink, but unfortunately, I didn't. The waitress had already cleared away the boards with the daily specials at 8:55 p.m. To me, that meant the kitchen was closing. Since I had come for dinner, the waitress continued to ignore me, so I got up and left. This didn't attract any attention either. 60 meters away, I was served elsewhere to my complete satisfaction.

We were in Ingolstadt in 30-degree heat and had made a reservation at the Weissbräuhaus. There were about 20 people. We were given seats in the pedestrian zone, but unfortunately, there weren't enough umbrellas, and we sat in the blazing sun. Since my husband is a cancer patient, we asked if the two of us could sit in the shade in the lovely backyard. We were rudely refused. Treating guests like that is unacceptable. Once and never again 😕

Yes and no, the food was delicious, no question... but the waitstaff (to put it politely) wasn't having their best day: other guests had to wait over half an hour for their beer!!! We were often overlooked, for whatever reason...

Unfortunately, I don't speak German. I tried to order in English. The bartender offered me a table in the garden. When I tried to order something, the waitress was indignant and said that unfortunately, they wouldn't serve me in the garden. The service was very rude. I had to go to a place next door, called Antalia, where I was served without any problems and in a pleasant and friendly manner, although the staff didn't speak much English.

We had a very good meal here. The braised roast lamb was tender as butter, the beans were crisp, and the fried potatoes were crunchy. The meatloaf was also very tasty. Friendly service, a sophisticated atmosphere. Highly recommended.

A super restaurant with friendly service and delicious food, it definitely deserves 5 stars. The ambiance and atmosphere are superb, all regional. The price is reasonable, very traditional and relaxed. But there are flies everywhere. Everything is still very old-fashioned and Bavarian. Clean toilets with a cigarette machine. You can eat inside and outside. Beautiful beer garden with lots of decorations. All in all, a very nice restaurant.

The dishes are too salty, the waiter is unpleasant, the pasta is overcooked, too expensive, he doesn't respect the customers.

As a regular, I naturally give it five stars. The main courses are excellent. Large portions... sometimes too large in the summer. 😊 My favorite is the pancake soup. Super delicious! Best Bavarian restaurant in Ingolstadt

I visited this restaurant with my cousins ​​who are from this town. It has a nice atmosphere of a Bavarian restaurant. I had great beer and great food. I was looking for a vegetarian option and the asparagus with potatoes was a great choice! I'll be happy to visit this place again on my next visit to Ingolstadt.

The Weissbräuhaus is located in the heart of the city. There's outdoor seating in front of the restaurant, and you can also sit outside inside. There's also an adjoining room if you'd like to come in a group, but you should make a reservation in advance. The food varies depending on which chef is on duty. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

We're not fans of Bavarian cuisine, but every now and then, especially in a good restaurant like this, it's great. We think the Herrenbräu beer is exceptional; it's a dream!

Typical Bavarian food in a rustic atmosphere!

The atmosphere is nice, the service is also ok, but I don’t like the food I ordered (sour veal lung ragout - not tasty), but my friends were more lucky and like the food (sausages and something with spinach).

I was at the Weißbräuhaus zum Herrnbräu. I had a Wiener Schnitzel, really well done. And the waiter was just what you'd want: personable, attentive, friendly, but not intrusive. All in all, a successful visit. I'd gladly go back.

It's difficult to rate the food since we were treated so badly we walked out after several minutes. The surly manager (host) sat at the table close to the bar and did not stir when two groups entered: he was busy reading his mobile phone. Finally he came over without a word took two menus, passed us by, dropped them onto the table and pointed, evidently hoping to get back to his phone. The place was empty and he selected the worst table in the main pathway of guests entering the establishment. When we asked (in German) if there were other tables available he just said "da" (or "there" in German). Obviously we did not stay.

The Weissbräuhaus zum Herrnbräu is an authentic Bavarian inn centrally located in Ingolstadt. I really enjoyed the freshly tapped beer from Herrnbräu. I will be happy to visit this inn again on my next visit to Ingolstadt.

A very nice and cozy inn in the center of the Danube city. The food tasted very good and special requests regarding side dishes were taken into account. The prices correspond to the current circumstances. For larger groups it is advisable to make a reservation. The staff is very friendly and takes great care of the guests' well-being.

The roast pork was super tasty. Rustic wooden furnishings. A bit expensive, but the liver dumpling soup was great. Often busy in the evenings. A reservation would be advantageous.

After a promising recommendation, we were very disappointed that half the menu was no longer available on Mondays. Especially schnitzel, cordon bleu, etc. are out. After I went back to the kitchen and politely asked for alternatives, I had to opt for a salad. I wasn't offered any alternatives independently. The icing on the cake, however, was that my table was served a non-breaded schnitzel. In summary: Too loud, too unfriendly, too little offer and waiting times too long. Unfortunately zero points. There are no towels or paper towels in the toilets. My colleague ordered a dish with fries and it was brought with spaetzle. When asked politely it was not possible to get fries. A short time later, fries were served at the neighboring table. Sorry -10 points for the whole exercise here. 👎
