A family-run restaurant serving traditional German cuisine. Traditional Bavarian dishes are prepared superbly here; the Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) and the homemade Bonschab Schnitzel are simply fantastic. The service was very attentive and incredibly friendly. This was our third visit, and we were very satisfied each time. We recommend a Goaß Maß (a liter of beer) for drinks ;)

I've rarely eaten such a good roast pork! Truly delicious, and at a reasonable price. The only thing that leaves something to be desired is the ambiance... But I will definitely recommend it and come back again!

My drink was brought incorrectly twice. I don't know if the server knew how the drink worked, but I expected it to be done correctly by the server. The food tasted okay. My food order also didn't arrive as requested, but I accepted that after discussing it with the server. My companion's steak was completely overcooked, etc. Unfortunately, we were disappointed today.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is really lovely, and the service is great! However, about a year or a year and a half ago, I ordered a roast pork to go for €12.80. Today, I ordered the same thing to go again, and it cost €16.80! I think that's a huge price increase for just one year, and I don't understand why they don't make it a bit cheaper for takeout than for eating in. It tastes fantastic, but almost €17 for a roast pork to go is just too expensive for me, and I'll think twice before I spend that much! I was okay with paying around €13 for a takeout dish, and I came quite often then! But this is just too expensive for me! Which is a shame because the roast pork was always delicious! ✌️

We dropped by spontaneously and received a very warm welcome. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the drinks selection was perfect. A fantastic restaurant if you're in Ingolstadt; I highly recommend it. It's not far from the main train station.

Today I went there with my colleagues. I ordered currywurst with fries. They forgot the sauce, then they put a simple tomato sauce on it. It wasn't currywurst for me. My colleague had meatloaf with fries, no sauce or anything. Local! Sauce, ketchup, or mayo is extra. Sorry, I don't know what that is like when fries come with no ketchup or mayo. The dish is generally dry. I used to enjoy eating there, but not anymore. And after asking for chili or something hotter, they charged me an extra €1.50. For me, anything hotter is like salt and pepper.

Eight of us spontaneously stopped by one evening and were warmly welcomed, even without a reservation. It's truly typically Bavarian, including the decor. Everyone loved the food; I had a roast pork myself and can only say good things about it. Thank you so much!

The weather was good, so we could sit outside in the pleasant bustle. The service was quick and delicious, Bavarian dishes were not expensive at all. We also enjoyed the Schattenhofer Pilsner, as well as the Hacksbraten auf Champignonrahm (Crispy Roast Beef), Spätzle, and Preiselbeeren (Peasant Beer).

Today was our last visit! This is no longer a candy-like experience: high prices, small portions, and carelessly served food. All the tables were usually occupied, but today only ours were. So other guests aren't enjoying it anymore either. It's truly sad what has become of this wonderful, traditional restaurant. What a shame!!!

The food tasted okay, but we saw at least 5-6 mice in the beer garden during our visit. In my opinion, such an infestation is no longer a normal risk for an outdoor area, but rather a clear indication of hygiene deficiencies. According to the Food Hygiene Regulation (LMHV) and EU Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004, operators must take appropriate measures against pests, including outdoors. We spoke to the owner about this. When we paid, he quietly said that this couldn't continue, but still, no discount was offered. It's a shame, because it left a negative aftertaste for our stay. Anyone who values ​​hygiene should keep this in mind when visiting. We also took pictures.

Otherwise, I would have noted that the knuckle of pork had been in the oven for an hour or two too long. Bonschab's good years seem to be over... As a native of Ingolstadt, I know Bonschab as a refined, traditional, Bavarian, and solid restaurant. We sat in the beer garden yesterday, which was moderately busy. A salad plate for 12 euros, which, apart from leaf lettuce, four slices of cucumber, some grated carrots, and two large pieces of bell pepper, contained only a slice of tomato that had been lying around somewhere for some time... disappointing. Our server was friendly, prompt, and courteous. I passed on my criticism to him. I'm certainly not looking for compensation, but if I, as a chef, heard this kind of feedback, I would make an effort to please the customer, speak to them myself, show interest, or maybe buy them an espresso. What I found unacceptable was the revealing attire of one of the servers. When she walked upright, she still seemed reasonably, albeit revealingly, dressed. However, when serving and bending forward, her cleavage reached her navel—to say the least. All these observations left me with the impression that this venerable establishment is no longer run the way it once was. Therefore, with a heavy heart, we will not be coming back. What a pity for this wonderful establishment!!!

A lovely beer garden with evening sun. It was cozy. The food (roast pork with dumplings and red cabbage) didn't really impress me. After I reported this to the waiter (dark-haired with a beard) while clearing our plates, all I got was a stupid comment. Beer, yes, but I won't be eating here again. What a shame!

It's not like it used to be, the food wasn't our taste at all, the service isn't the same either, it was friendly but it used to come from the heart, now it's too cold. The only thing that's still nice is the beer garden itself, but I wouldn't recommend the rest anymore, but everyone has different tastes.

The food is very good, the portions are decent. The service is abysmal. We waited over an hour for our food despite having a reservation. The side salad was delivered to the next table, the wrong drinks were billed, and in the end, we were charged for them. And that wasn't the first time. Conclusion: too few staff for the size of the restaurant. A shame.

The Bonschap has a large beer garden and is a quaint location. The interior is reminiscent of bygone years and the ravages of time that have taken their toll on everything. But that's what makes it special. Add to that the down-to-earth, honest cuisine and freshly tapped beer...what more could you want? The more you appreciate the friendly waiters and the freshly tapped non-alcoholic beer.

Wir hatten einen Ingolstädter Wurstsalat bestellt. Dazu kamen zwei kleine Scheiben Brot. Bei der Bezahlung wurden uns 0,70 € für das Brot berechnet. Die Bedienung sagte uns, dass ist so und wir sollten uns an den Chef wenden. Beim gehen habe ich noch mal in die Speisekarte gesehen, wo genau bezeichnet war, dass zum Wurstsalat 2 Scheiben Brot gereicht werden. Wieso macht man so was und stellt sich bei Nachfrage dumm ?

Great food, rustic vibe and staff that always smile. I felt comfortable and not an inconvenience as I'm English speaking and don't know the language. A little close to the main road but it's easily overlooked. I do recommend and will be coming back for a hearty meal.

The Bonschab is still typically Bavarian. The food and ambience. Highly recommended is April 30th of the year. There's music in the Bonschab. Always happy again.

A second stop at Bonschab was once again worthwhile. The cream and sour cream roast - which was initially out - but which the landlord then offered me the "leftovers" of was a poem. Although there were no longer whole slices but rather pulled meat, that didn't detract from the taste at all ;-) We'd love to come back!

Wer bodenständige Kost mag, ist hier richtig. Hier wird klassisch-bayrisch gekocht, mit großen Portionen (der Rentnerteller macht allein satt) und angenehmen Preisen. Die Atmosphäre ist klassisch-rustikal, aber nicht nachgemacht, sondern authentisch. Das Personal ist schnell und freundlich und schnell. Hier kann man auch nachmittags essen und wir kommen immer wieder gerne hierher. Eine umfangreiche Tageskarte lässt keine Wünsche offen, aber es gibt auch zahlreiche Klassiker der gutbürgerlichen Küche, die man nur empfehlen kann. Im Sommer ist der Biergarten zu empfehlen, im Winter gibt es zuweilen Konzerte. Auch ein Nebenraum für private Veranstaltungen steht zur Verfügung.

The first service was very unfriendly, the one later in the evening was friendly. There were three of us, so of course we like to eat together, but one of us got the food at least 10 minutes before the others and the fries were lukewarm and the dressing was forgotten on the salad. The restaurant has a charming rustic vibe with high ceilings and old decorations. The waiter was friendly, but they didn’t inform us about the daily menu on the board. I ordered a Schweinshaxe after showing a picture from Google, which overwhelmed the waitress even though they were almost empty. Unfortunately, the Bratkartoffeln weren’t crispy, and the Wiener Schnitzel was mediocre, as it wasn’t as flat as it should be. The cappuccino was strong but lacked proper foam. Also toilets were conveniently located at the same level as the dining area.

We were passing through there with three children and were super satisfied. Despite the full house, we were immediately assigned a table. Fast, simple and feel good. We only found it a bit strange that the side salad advertised on the menu was "no longer served with this dish" according to the waiter.

Today, December 1st, 2020, I ordered a Wiener-style schnitzel with side dishes by phone to pick up. As always, it was good service, only to go at the moment, hopefully sitting in again soon. As usual, everything at the Bonschab tasted great and there was even a bottle of hop tea included. I will definitely come back, see you soon. Dinner on January 12th, 2025, Wiener-style schnitzel and a non-alcoholic wheat beer from Gutmann. Sit comfortably here with good food and drink. Perfect for me and parking within a 2 minute walk

Atmospheric pub, but that's where the positives end. The service is disgusting. The soup was not bad, but the pork apparently died while walking to this restaurant. Dry and absolutely inedible. Drinking beer is probably not bad, but I don’t recommend eating it.

Our visit to this restaurant left an extremely unpleasant impression due to the disgusting service. The waitress only came to us after 10 minutes to bring us the menu, despite our attempts to get our attention. Then she made several mistakes at once: they brought 3 teas instead of 2, and also 2 soups instead of 4. Instead of apologizing, the waitress behaved aggressively and unfriendly, which completely ruined the atmosphere. We understand that the restaurant was almost full, but this does not justify treating guests this way. Even a simple apology for mistakes could smooth out the situation, but they tried to prove to us that we said something wrong, although the order was repeated several times! When the food finally arrived, the pork was so tough that it was impossible to chew. The soup was ok, but the overall experience of the meal and visit was ruined by the staff. In addition, we had to ask for the check twice, which only added to the unpleasant moments. Perhaps it was because we spoke Russian? And when we tried to negotiate in English, we were told to look for information on our phone. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. The service clearly needs serious improvement.

We've gone to Bonschab very often for dinner. Haven't been disappointed so far. Today, however, they forgot about us when we ordered the food. We ordered 4 main courses. After waiting for over an hour, we asked how long it would take. They had forgotten to pass on the order. After another 10 minutes the food came. One dish was just warmed up in the microwave. You could tell by the edge of the sauce and the dumplings that were completely firm on the inside. In the other dish the fried potatoes were cold. And when we got the bill, we weren't even offered a free drink as an apology. Anything can happen that you forget something, but then there should be at least a free drink or a gesture as an apology. That was probably our last time here.
