Yes, we also fell for this supposed goulash soup. In terms of taste, it was a 0. For €8.50, the indefinable mass with a tough consistency was served in a small cup. Canned food from the supermarket tastes worlds better!

Unfortunately we decided on goulash soup. It cost 8.50 euros and was served in a small bowl. The price is a disgrace. The taste had something to do with goulash soup, but the consistency was strangely jelly-like. Food and price 1 star. The service was friendly, but that's why it got the extra star. They can only "survive" because the location is great and the day tourist is happy to get a place.

Bei einem Zwischenstop in Bernkastel kamen wir hier vorbei. Auf einer Tafel sah ich den Hinweis, hier gibt es Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. Kurz bevor der Regen kam bekamen wir einen Platz unter der Markise. Der Service war aufmerksam und die Torte lecker. Der Preis war für diese Touristenhochburg auch noch ok.

Apfelschorle and coffee excellent. As long as you still have to order, the service is friendly, then not anymore and you are ignored. A "see you later" is indispensable. No debit card payments, cash only; this is not pointed out.

I was there yesterday and had chicken schnitzel with fries. I really have to say that I have never eaten so badly. Schnitzel, definitely frozen goods and very greasy because it wasn't drained. Fries weren't tasty either. I was also given a knife and a cake fork as cutlery. I don't think there's anything more that needs to be said about it. I also expressed my displeasure to the waitress. But she showed no interest in questioning my judgment. This beautiful place really doesn't deserve such gastronomy.

This coffee shop obviously caters to tourists. And there are plenty of tourist here. We ordered plum cake and it was terrible, likely baked several days ago. This was probably the worst plum case we ever had in Germany, and we have been in Germany many times and had plum cakes on many occasions. A friend ordered lemonade and got Sprite. The lady insisted that it was close enough. The coffee was ok.

Food was quite decent but the waitress ruined the entire experience because she was impatient, rude, and really unfriendly. Wouldn't recommend just because of the waitress.

We absolutely couldn't understand the many negative reviews. We received a very friendly welcome and enjoyed delicious drinks and schnitzel here. The service was very attentive and extremely nice and accommodating. Clear recommendation, we have been there several times and enjoyed staying there

Very nice wine bar on a busy street. The service is friendly and attentive, the schnitzel is delicious.

Very unfriendly staff, especially the older woman with glasses, are nice when you order a drink and then immediately look away from the terrace. Not recommended. The terrace next door is much better and friendlier. Do not go there, eat from a microwave, speak English until you ask if the food comes from the microwave. and then they no longer understand not to do anything

8.50 euros for a goulash soup that doesn't deserve the name. Mega rip off.

Werkelijk verschrikkelijk!! Ongeïnteresseerde bediening en eten was echt dramatisch slecht. Verlept blaadje sla naast de nogmaals opgebakken voorgebakken frites. Wij hadden een heel taaie en in het vet drijvende schnitzel en bovendien was deze grotendeels rauw. Natuurlijk hebben we dit aangegeven. Klaarblijkelijk was ze dit gewend want zonder enig excuus of iets dergelijks werd aangeboden deze nogmaals te bakken. De rekening achteraf moest geheel worden voldaan en er werd op geen enkele wijze excuus gemaakt.

Cappuccino very small for €4.70, served in a mini cup...pea soup not tasty, finished product...and for €8.90 what a cheek to serve something like that!

Completely overpriced for very bad drinks

We wanted something small to eat and found something on the small menu. Schnitzel ok, pea soup delicious. Plate was not suitable for the side salad, it was very difficult to eat. Fries got cold incredibly quickly in the container. 😒 Unfortunately there was a lot of traffic and deliveries were made at lunchtime, which made it very loud and uncomfortable outside.

Last summer (2023) we had lunch here and had something delicious to drink. Nice tent, typically German.

The food is pretty good, but it will leave you wanting for more food. I was starving after eating here.

Unfortunately the menu is quite small. If you don't want to eat schnitzel, this is not the place for you. We ordered schnitzel with hunter's sauce and a schnitzel with paprika sauce. Unfortunately, two of the Jägerschnitzel still had pepper pieces in the sauce. Especially since the sauce was definitely a finished product. The meat itself was delicious. Unfortunately the sauce makes it inedible. Nobody finished their plate. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately no card payment possible. No attention was drawn to this before.

Unfortunately, customer wishes are not respected here. As an owner, you should perhaps respond to one or two of the reviews here rather than enforcing your "own business laws" as he says. I can not say more about that.

The dirtiest sandwich ever! Take 1 bite and leave the rest. The sandwich was soggy, Ham was thickly sliced ​​and looked like concrete, and there was way too much cheese on the sandwich. This experience in itself was annoying but the waiter's reaction was the worst! When my wife and I indicated that this sandwich was dirty, she did not flinch and pretended not to have heard it, even after repeating my comment.

We had pork schnitzel and a bratwurst. Enjoyed thoroughly. Total bill for two including beverages was les than 40 euros. Nice big outdoor seating area.

Waren auf einer Radtour--haben hier Rast gemacht--sehr schön gelegen--waren zufrieden.

Das Essen war sehr schlecht. An dem Essen war nichts selbstgemacht. Nur Maggisauce. Die Fritteuse im Dauereinsatz. Die Preise sind eine Frechheit.

Freundliche Bedienung, schneller Service. Beim Essen, Hähnchenschnitzel nur mit Pommes, ohne Salat) wahrscheinlich TK-Ware, war Menge-Preisverhältnis(14,50 €) nicht akzeptabel .In einer Weingegend für 0,2 l einfacher Riesling € 6,40 bzw. 1 l Flasche 32,--e total überteuert.

Leider schmeckte der Kaffee nach Wasser. Die Sahne beim Strudel war Sprühsahne. Für 1 Euro extra. Die Preise sind überzogen. Das Personal gibt sich zumindest Mühe. Wir werden nicht nochmal hier einkehren.

We were surprised by the crowds visiting Bernkastel-Kues one Friday in mid September. We needed a short lunchtime snack and saw that most places were packed. Well all their outdoor tables were taken, mainly with retired couples slowly supping glasses of what this area is famous for. We were lucky enough, therefore, to grab a recently cleaned and sterilised table at the Saint Sebastian. Once seated we were looked after by two cheery young ladies who did their best to make us feel at home. They accepted our friendly banter in good spirits which was nice... I went for a large glass of chilled Radler (shandy) and a plate of deep fried calamari with garlic sauce/alioli. I presume that they came out of the deep freeze (not the Mosel river) but there were plenty of them for the 10€ price tag. This place is located on the busy Burgstrasse which means that it is optimal for people watching. All in all, an excellent place for a quick snack

Das REstaurant hat ganz viel Flair und auch Plätze draußen auf der Straße. Wir haben hier nur einen Kaffee getrunken und etwas kleines gegessen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und das Essen und der Kaffee haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmte

Hervorragender Service, besser geht es nicht. Leckerer Cappuccino, Torte war einfach nur klasse.

Wunderschönes Lokal. Historische Geschichte. Wein ausgezeichnet. Gute Auswahl an Mehlspeisen und Kaffeespezialitäten. Sehr freundliche Bedienung. Nach einem schönen Spaziergang durch die Altstadt, lädt dieses Cafe zum verweilen ein. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Excellent food, and the Bratwurst and chips was perfect for the kids. Nice and cosy inside, if the decor was a little dated. They only have two high chairs though, and don't know what a credit card is. CASH ONLY! I'll still never understand why a restaurant in 2019 doesn't have a card machine.

Aangenaam rustig gelegen cafeetje met aangename en vlugge bediening. Is er sfeer vol en met lekkere drankjes. de gluewein is er zeer goed.

Wir sind mit unserer Gruppe im St. Sebastian eingekehrt um etwas zu trinken. Freundliche Bedienung und leckere Getränke, was will man mehr. Gerne wieder.

Alles gut, selbstgemachter sehr leckerer Kuchen kann ich nur empfehlen

ich habe dort gestern den besten Apfelstrudel meines Lebens gegessen, hausgemacht... Das sieht man und das schmeckt man. Kompliment dafür.

Auf der Suche nach einem günstigen Restaurant außerhalb des Moselblicks, sind wir in die Fußgängerzone ausgewichen. Die einladende Terrasse bot ausreichend Platz da wenig besucht.Zur Auswahl stehen mehrere Schnitzelgerichte mit unterschiedlicher Grammzahl.Preislich leicht angehoben. Die Getränkepreise sind ebenfalls im angehobenen Niveau. Schnitzel und Pommes inclusive Sauce ließen keine Wünsche offen, was wir anhand des Preises auch erwarten durften. Die Bedienung war nett und freundlich.

Tijdens ons bezoek aan dit plaatsje hebben we hier op het terras gegeten. De bediening is zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hebben een schnitzel besteld en die was prima. Helaas was de frites erg zout. Wij eten niet zo zout en misschien is het beter de mensen zelf hun zout hoeveelheid te regelen bij de frites door een zoutpotje op tafel te zetten. Mochten we weer in de buurt zijn gaan we beslist hier nog een keer eten maar letten dan wel op het zout

Fantastic food had here on both occasions, today was just for coffee and cake but what amazing cake it was. Huge chocolate cake and lovely coffee. The staff are pleasant and the place simple but elegant. Happy to return again and again.

Travelling from Lake Constance back to get ferry home...found Motorhome stopover in Euro Stop book.So glad we chose it because we could not have found a more beautiful setting and town. We also know now that there is alot going on over the Christmas holidays here regarding celebrations, Christmas markets and firework displays etc...main stop overs open all year.

When you visit a place like Berndkastel kues, a big tourist attraction, where do you go for a meal. Well, this one can be recommended. Good food, friendly and helpful staff, fair pricing. Also look at their specials that are not on the menu mentioned

Stopped off in this really pretty town on way through to Barden-barden. Town full of tourists so we really struggled to find a space in restaurant, but so glad we got one here. Landlord very helpful as there was no english menu, but he kindly translated it and explained what shnitzel was as we had never had it before. Had one chicken and one pork, both really yummy, but we all voted pork was slightly better. Had glass of local Reisling which was best I have ever tasted. Would highly recommend this restaurant and the town.

I have to agree with the experience of the prior review although we at least got an extra plate from the waitress to share the schnitzel. Initially we were told that we couldn't share the dish. The schnitzel had to be sent back as it wasn't cooked fully. The water was served in the glass and we were surprised that each glass cost Eur 3.50 each. The soup was fine but a very small portion. The waitress was nice. Overall would avoid.
