What a fantastic view!! Friendly people and delicious food. Our dog Jet was also welcome, which was great!

Good menu. The kitchen can cook what it says on the tin. The salmon and Wiener schnitzel are excellent. Very good fries. The service is very attentive, even if the kitchen can't keep up due to the high volume of guests. The view is, of course, fantastic.

Both inside and outside, you'll enjoy fantastic views of the Moselle and Bernkastel-Kues! There's a seasonal menu and a second menu. Dining is also available in the evening. Always worth a visit.

Apart from the service it was quite ok.

The "good" first: the food was okay when it arrived. The service was unfortunately abysmal. If you can't tell the wines served on the tray apart and can't tell an espresso macchiato from a cappuccino, that doesn't demonstrate competence. A 40-minute wait for a currywurst and a pumpkin cream soup isn't right either... On top of that, everyone was pretty grumpy.

There's no service here! If you just want to sit down, you can visit. It's best to bring your own food and drinks.

Great view! Some of the staff were rude (one customer's food didn't arrive at all, and then the waiter with suspenders remarked, "This isn't McDonald's"). Very messy, even though the decor looks nice.

We were treated poorly as a single parent shoved to a dirty table by the door being told it was all available. Other tables were opened and servers happily found these tables with better views and atmosphere for the tables with just adults. Read in another review there is actually a kids menu we were not offered. Pork chop and burger were dry, burger was inedible. Fries were good. Besides sitting by the door in awkward table and dry proteins, the restaurant has nice views. Perhaps if you aren't a single parent, you will be treated better.

The food was quite tasty. The view is breathtaking. It's best to reserve a table and specify a window seat when booking; it worked perfectly for us. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and was very busy during our visit on a Sunday. Unfortunately, the service was very poorly organized and not efficient. Tables were swapped several times, so the wrong tables received their food. We also had to wait a very long time for the menu, and when we wanted to place an order, it was rather difficult to find a server.

Food OK, price reasonable, tables outside not clean and not cleared for a long time, no beer mats and tables were sticky, service "robust" but not friendly - despite the table not being full, we let two people sit at the table for four. Apparently, we weren't doing enough business. We'll have bottles of wine and food in the village. The service and hospitality there are excellent. Disappointing.

The restaurant immediately impresses with its truly stunning view – you could sit there for hours and simply enjoy the view. The service staff was also incredibly friendly, attentive, and warm – you immediately feel welcome and in good hands. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to this positive impression. I was honestly disappointed to discover that the schnitzel came from a factory-made product. You really don't expect that in a restaurant with this location and atmosphere. For me, a fresh, homemade schnitzel is one of those classics that simply should be prepared properly. Such a shame – because with this view and the great team, the evening could have been perfect. But the fun stops with ready-made schnitzels; unfortunately, even the most beautiful panorama can't help.

You can really enjoy yourself here—both the food and the view.

Delicious salmon with potato gratin, topped off by the location with a view and an outstanding waiter...again and again

Highly recommended!!!!! I had previously requested a table with my dog, requesting a quiet corner. Not only did we get a quiet corner, but we also got the best view. And it was truly gorgeous. The location was equally stunning, incredibly nestled in the castle ruins. The staff were incredibly attentive and even gave excellent advice on wine selection. Everyone was very accommodating and very dog-friendly. The food selection catered to everyone's taste. Our meals were perfect (autumn tarte flambée and salmon). Absolutely delicious. At the end, they even gave us perfect hiking tips for the return trip! Go!!!!!

Fantastic ambiance with a great view. We were there with nine guests and enjoyed the food (ranging from good to very good, depending on the guest). Unfortunately, the service was very mixed – from the waitress, who was extremely friendly and courteous, to the waiter, who we found to be a disaster due to his inappropriate comments and unprofessional service. Overall, we'd be happy to return, but definitely hope for adequate service.

There were 14 of us there, and we had to wait over an hour for our food. Only after asking for it did the food arrive. The service was unfriendly at times, and the food (I had a burger) wasn't anything special. The best thing about this restaurant was the beautiful view.

According to the internet, the restaurant is open until 9 p.m., and the walk up is strenuous. Then you'll have a great view and be hungry, but the restaurant is closed today, says the sign in the display case.

The food was excellent and, considering the location, not as expensive as expected. The portion sizes were more than adequate on average. We highly recommend the pumpkin soup, pretzels with Camembert, the salmon fillet with potato gratin, and cheese spaetzle. Some of the dishes were from the autumn menu. Unfortunately, the time management due to staff shortages was the biggest negative point for us and others. Much worse, however, was a group of 18 guests who complained loudly for an extended period, thus spoiling the ambiance and atmosphere. Our group of four highly recommends a visit. Be sure to make a reservation, especially for a nice window seat.

Very delicious food in an absolutely beautiful setting with a fantastic view of the Moselle. The wine was delicious and the service was friendly. The only negative point was that the waiters didn't communicate much with each other and gave tables to the wrong people (without reservations). This didn't affect us, though, so everything was perfectly fine.

The restaurant is beautiful. Unfortunately, the service staff were largely incompetent, making the overall experience rather chaotic. The food was lukewarm at best and poorly presented. Overall, not worth the money!

Beautiful view, but terrible service. We were ignored half the time. And the order was wrong. After asking three times, they kept saying they would fix it, but nothing happened. I also had to ask for the bill three times. You can come here for the view, but don't expect too much beyond that. As a restaurant, it's truly awful.

After waiting an hour, it turned out our order hadn't been placed. We quickly received our drinks and a little later, our food. The waitress, who had been at fault, dropped another couple's bread basket upside down. She then put the bread back in it and put it on the tables of other customers. Another couple also walked out because they hadn't received anything after a long time. She apologized to us several times.

Well, what can I say? The view is stunning / mega / simply fantastic... The "restaurant" isn't... Sorry 🤷‍♀️. The service and food 🤔 we'd rather keep quiet about that... Only one young man (who probably just started working there) went above and beyond and apologized often... A little tip: if employees absolutely have to argue, don't do it in front of guests!!!! And also not in the kitchen when the door is open!!! And also important: clean!!! This place COULD be a gold mine!!!!...

Delicious food with an absolutely stunning view.

We ended up not eating here, so I can't comment on the food itself. While we were visiting the castle, no one seemed to care that we wanted to eat there. We then asked a waiter if the roof terrace was still open. He simply replied rudely, "No," and left without another word. Then we called again a day later to reserve a table. Since the terrace wasn't open on a Sunday in August, even with the best weather, we wanted to at least reserve a table by the window. Unfortunately, the bored lady on the phone told us that wasn't possible and that specific tables couldn't be reserved. Since the restaurant apparently wasn't particularly impressive with its food and we mainly wanted to eat there for the view, we ultimately decided against it. So, unfortunately, it feels like a typical tourist restaurant. A nice location, but nothing behind it. Oh well, there are plenty of other dining options nearby.

Hunger and a beautiful view promised us (a couple on vacation) a pleasant time at Landshut Castle. Since we know from experience that even Michelin-star-quality currywurst and fries can be made and served, we decided to try them. We also ordered a bottle of water. What we received wasn't so good. The sausage was ice-cold, the accompanying sauce bland, monotonous, and sad, along with the fries that American burger chains do better. This annoying but exquisitely expensive dish was lovingly served with a small disposable plastic bag (12 mg / 20 mg each) of Heinz mayonnaise and ketchup. The good thing: There was actually metal cutlery, not plastic or wood. The waitress asked us afterwards if we enjoyed our meal, and upon our reply, we received two free espressos as consolation. We paid €33.50 for two currywursts with fries and a bottle of water. Conclusion: We will be back and give the restaurant a second chance. The ambiance and interior of this restaurant are very nice. Well...more show than substance Location: Top Service: Disastrous Food: Close to disaster, at least the steak with fried potatoes Furthermore, we waited over 15 minutes to be served (despite a reservation) and over 70 minutes for the food after ordering (with a small child). Mass processing, nothing more. It seems to be completely irrelevant whether you were satisfied as a guest - after all, there are plenty of new ones coming in. It's a shame, the place could do so much better!

We ate there with 12 people. It took a while before we could order. The drinks were delivered within a reasonable time, although this was already at the limit. Unfortunately, the food took a very, very long time, and one dish was even forgotten. The service deserves praise, however, as they offered a reasonable apology and a free drink for the person. The location is beautifully situated in the castle; you can sit in the castle courtyard. If you sit inside, you have a fantastic view of the Moselle. The schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce we ordered was delicious; I highly recommend it.

Decent food, amazing view, servers on the slower side but food came out quickly once ordered. Not the easiest to navigate to though. Google Maps only takes you partway there and after that you need to follow the small signs. Park in the cobblestone parking lot and walk down the steep cobblestone path to the burg/restaurant. There are 4-5 parking spots near it, if you want to try. The restaurant/Burg could make it so much easier for visitors if they gave similar parking instructions on their website. I had to use a combo of Google Maps navigation and the satellite view to get an idea where to park.

Very few dishes, and even those weren't particularly hot. Drinks usually arrive much later than the food. One of the seats we were assigned wasn't free.

My mother-in-law paid €16 for two coffees for herself and her friend. I hope they miscalculated the bill, otherwise it borders on fraud.

The staff looks at you and recognizes that you're waiting and want to be assigned a table. But it doesn't seem to matter. We waited visibly at the entrance for 20 minutes. Three servers saw us several times. No one offered us a seat or told us it would take a while. They left after 20 minutes.

Unfortunately, after waiting for an hour and asking repeatedly, I still haven't gotten a Coke. Only three tables occupied, and yet no time to open a bottle of Coke. Absolutely terrible service, unfortunately. But the view is fantastic!

The view is truly beautiful. Unfortunately, the service was poor. We ordered drinks, which arrived fairly quickly. However, waiting 30 minutes for a server to order food is unacceptable! Despite repeated requests to be served, no one took our order!

Unique panoramic view of the Moselle loop. The restaurant, decorated in keeping with the castle, offers a pleasant atmosphere, which is also enhanced by the friendly staff. Weather permitting, the restaurant also has a terrace for outdoor seating. A wide selection of dishes invites you to dine, although the prices are quite high due to the location. The preparation and taste of the dishes are nothing special. Unfortunately, one of the tarte flambées was burnt around the edges, which the waitress expressed regret at, but which was neither prevented beforehand by quality control nor compensated for afterward with, for example, a free drink. The restaurant does not live up to its "extra class" claim.

The ambiance and the view are special. Service was fast and friendly. The tarte flambée was burnt around the edges and a bit dry, but the apple strudel was quite good. And the prices are quite high.

It's all about the views in this hill-top restaurant, cleverly inserted into the side of an old castle ruin. Decent food, modern interior, friendly staff. It's a bit tricky to get to but worth it if you can.

I passed the wait for the return trip with a wine spritzer and cake. The price was on the higher end, the cake a convenience product, and the covered apple pie wasn't to my taste. The apple with crumble was okay. Wine spritzers were available in sweet, semi-dry, and dry varieties; a little more spritz wouldn't have hurt.

The view here is more than amazing – it’s like nothing else. You’re surrounded by incredible nature, with forests all around. The road up to the restaurant is beautiful, winding right through the trees. The food was delicious, and the staff were super nice and welcoming. Sitting there with that view while enjoying a great meal was an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Bernkastel-Kues.

Ordered schnitzel and apple strudel. Dessert came first and young waiter said yes this was first which made me look up if this was customary 🤣 it isnt. Schnitzel was average. Lady waitress apologised when I asked and i checked if my main was ordered. Large plate , unfortunately schnitzel was over cooked, tasted slightly burnt. Everything is a bit too salty for me, preference wise Kinda has a canteen cafe vibe here. Great views but bit disappointed in my last dinner here . I’d come back and maybe have drinks here

Unfortunately, all the food was too salty, and the fish quality was poor. Otherwise, the food was just okay. The cocktails were delicious, but the cappuccino was terrible. I wouldn't come back for dinner.

Waited 40 minutes for an apple strudel...service disaster

The restaurant exudes a wonderfully cozy atmosphere that immediately invites you to linger. The food was excellent and perfectly prepared. The view of Bernkastel-Kues from the restaurant was particularly impressive. The excellent weather rounded off the experience. Overall, this is a place that impresses not only with its culinary offerings but also with its atmosphere.

We prebooked and it all started with a confusion of reservation or not, but was solved and we could order. We didn't speak german, however tried to ensure that we didnt want part of the food due to allergic and from that point everything went wrong, tried to work with Google translate but they couldnt read. 3 time it was correct and ended up with an ok, nothing special about the food. View is greate. The kitchen responsible gave a good discount, all went well, but was not a nice visit considering the whole experience.

We waited a long time before seated. I ordered a ceasear-sallad without dressing. I did get it with no dressing, but also whitout chicken and breadkrutongs. No problem I got a new one, with chicken AND dressing but no krutongs. Third time, got it all perfect! Very nice view. It all endes good Thanks to the lady who serves us!

We visited the Burg Landshut restaurant, which had a simply stunning view of the Moselle. The food—we only had a tarte flambée—was lovely, with a lovely outdoor seating area. The interior was very modern. We'll be back.

Without reservation, in my experience, it was impossible to get a table and the staff might benefit from some lessons in polite manners. The atmosphere's brilliant, no doubts, but one can't simply satisfy hunger with views of the castle and the surroundings. We gave up after waiting for some time. I would strongly recommend eating in one of the restaurants in the town

We were up at the castle on a rainy day. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the Moselle with two lattes. An incredible atmosphere, even in the sunshine, with great outdoor seating. A small souvenir shop. Friendly staff and clean restrooms that are free for guests (usually €0.70), but worth it.

We only stopped here for a drink. The service was good and fast, the atmosphere was great, and the climb was worth it.

Get a reservation for the window seats

Despite a sign stating that it was open all day, both the restaurant and the castle were closed. There is no indication of this on the website or at the entrance. We can't say whether it had been open earlier, but it was already closed by 6:00 PM. This also prevented access to the castle courtyard, which should have been closed by 9:00 PM.

Excellent ambience and very good cuisine paired with friendly service. Pricing very moderate. Everything perfect.

Great ambience, good wine list, really great view, good menu, you can really spend a nice evening there. If you are in Bernkastel Kues, you should definitely spend an evening at the castle. Reservation is online, very easy.

We only had drinks. The prices for the food were a bit too high for us personally. What was delivered to the neighboring tables looked very good and seemed to justify the prices. The staff was attentive, very nice and friendly. The view is magnificent. You should have done it once.

As a motorcyclist you don't tend to get served very well here - people who came after us had their orders earlier even though we only ordered coffee - maybe that was the reason

Naturally, the location cannot be topped. But the coffee is underground. Water was carried past the bean, taking just a hint of flavor with it. Then the price: 4.90 euros per pot is definitely not a fair price for this thin drink. Better choose other drinks when you stop here.

Went there spontaneously on a Saturday late afternoon. The friendly staff immediately found a place for a wine for two. The view is amazing.

Nice view and good service, we were very satisfied

We ordered a soup of the day and it was excellent. The cheesecake was also good and everything people next to us ordered looked good too. The ambience with the view is hard to beat and the furnishings are beautiful. However, the service was very inattentive. A lady felt like she was deliberately ignoring us. Even at 3 p.m., the other lady had no idea what the soup of the day was and seemed a bit overwhelmed. The wine is also served directly to the guests at the table next to it. All in all a good experience - perhaps the service staff should be given some training?

A hike here is worth it - you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Moselle and the vineyards. The food and drinks in the restaurant were good - the service was always friendly.

The restaurant is located directly in the castle and has a wonderful floor-to-ceiling glass front with a wonderful view of the surrounding area, the Moselle and Bernkastel Kues. A visit in the evening with sunset is particularly recommended. The main argument for the restaurant and the castle is the surroundings and the view! The restaurant is busy and reservations are recommended. The food is home-style and tasty and the service doesn't have to hide despite the turbulent environment. Getting there by car is a bit challenging and requires breaking some traffic rules if you drive straight to the castle, but this can also be achieved taking into account the STVO and a small, steep footpath.

The price/performance ratio is an absolute disgrace. The portions are far too small and not at all acceptable for the price. The taste of the food was okay and the service was friendly. The view of the Moselle was beautiful.

We had reserved and got a window seat. Then everything good comes together, the food, the service and the view! We will definitely come back again!

I highly recommend the castle restaurant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were there with two elderly women who needed wheelchairs, and the staff opened a side door for us so they didn't have to climb any stairs. The food and the view over Bernkastel-Kues were simply fabulous. We'd love to come back 😊

Rarely received so disinterested and inhospitable. Bread was almost thrown on the table. Nice place but could not wait to pay and leave. Bah!
