Super nice restaurant with a great view, food and service was very good!

Go up there for the view - not for the food and service.

The ambience is quite okay, but the service is terrible. There were two of us sitting at a table and we simply weren't served for over 20 minutes. Unfortunately we left without being able to eat there, so unfortunately I can't rate the food.

The setting is beautiful. The view is beautiful and the restaurant looks neat. The kitchen is unfortunately simple, comparable to a cafeteria, which mainly applied to the main courses (although we had ordered simple dishes, but the menu does not offer much more). Flammkuchen and Kaisersmarren were tasty. Considering the photos, setting, and especially the hyped words on the own website, we really expected a little more from the food. But the view is still worth a trip to this place.

Was für eine Enttäuschung, und das ist milde ausgedrückt. Habe vor ein paar Wochen einen Tisch um 20 Uhr am Fenster reserviert. Kein Problem, bis wir dort ankamen!!! Tisch NICHT reserviert und Küche um 20 Uhr geschlossen. Ich habe noch nie eine größere Enttäuschung erlebt. Wertlos! Nachdem wir einen kurvenreichen Berg hinaufgefahren waren, hatten wir dieses amateurhafte Erlebnis. Desillusionierung und Dilettantismus vom Feinsten! Für uns nie wieder!

Really good food with nice views, service 10/10

We were there on a somewhat rainy Sunday afternoon and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Cake wasn't explicitly on the menu, but a small selection could be found (without name or price) in a glass cabinet. The overall quality was rather average and in no way justifies the exorbitant prices. However, the service could only be described as catastrophic - even though it wasn't exactly overcrowded. We still got drinks and cake, but after that there was nothing going on at the seats in the inner courtyard. Another group of visitors at the next table was completely ignored even after more than 20 minutes, and both another guest and we were only able to pay by speaking directly to the employee at the checkout terminal in the interior, as no one came to us even after we asked.

Fast and friendly service, that's all you want.

Ordered a table for 2. Unfortunately, the staff doesn't seem to be interested in serving guests. So we left hungry and then ate in the old town. It's a shame for such a great location

Getting a place was easy The service staff was totally overwhelmed, with the 4 tables occupied by a maximum of 3 guests We had to make it known that we wanted to eat something or have the cards After 15 minutes we left without food or drinks Because she no longer came to us, but rather to guests who were sitting directly at the service door Ultimately sad But we saved a lot of money Because the portions on the neighboring table were incomprehensible

Where should I start and stop.. Ambience top. Service… what? If you don't hire "specialist" staff, which isn't possible at the moment... you could at least bring in "basic" people. I'm not interested... I have no idea. Food was ok. Again more. It's a shame... wine list could be much better to "show real Moselle wine" to international guests... Lots of room for improvement...

Unfortunately, the service was really not good, not even all the tables were occupied on Sunday evening and yet it still took 15 minutes to be served at the beginning. Food is generally okay, but the high prices are not justified. Breaded Camembert with cranberries and salad was ordered. When the food came there were no cranberries and when I asked they just said “I forgot to mention they’re out”. Ketchup and mayo were served as alternatives. The portion in the photo cost €14 and the price wasn't even fair. There is definitely room for improvement.

Nice staff, great view and good food.

View is really good, food is good, but like a lot of restaurants at landmarks or viewpoints, service is indifferent at best. Not particularly welcoming but not actively hostile. Sort of puts a damper on the romance of the view.

Great view and nice restaurant. Modern and historical combined very well. The prices are sometimes very high. A small iced coffee with old iced vanilla ice cream for a whopping €9.50…

Beim Besuch der Burgruine hatten wir ein Getränk und Kuchen. Beides war ok, die Bedienung sehr freundlich, Aussenbereich ok, Toiletten in puncto Sauberkeit eher grenzwertig.

We were lucky and got a window seat. The view is simply fantastic. The food was OK. The wine is too expensive at €6.50 - €9.00 (0.2). I think all wines from the region are good.

Everything was great :) only the directions are a bit confusing and there aren't many parking spaces around the castle. The restaurant was perfect. There is a wide selection even for people with celiac disease. Excellent

Prices are too high, the composition of the cheese plate was poorly chosen, it took a long time until the food was at the table and the waitress passively asked for tips. Once and never again.

Never again ! View etc. everything is great but the service is very bad!!! Reserved a table and yet we didn't get one, asked for drinks and unfortunately didn't get any. I would prefer not to give a star!!! Then they left!!!

Unfortunately the service doesn't do justice to the location. A pity! We made a reservation and were left standing. After asking several times if we could order something, we were ignored instead of served. We then left.. not recommended!

Excessive prices, lukewarm jacket potatoes, four stalks of green asparagus and a dollop of herb curd for 16.50 are not justified. In the asparagus salad you had to look for the green and white asparagus, which was cut into thin strips and resembled a children's portion and all this for €14.50. The plates were carelessly "slammed" onto the table by the waiter, but the waitress was very nice and friendly. We won't be repeat offenders at the restaurant.

We had Kaiserschmarrn and cake - both really delicious :-) Also very child-friendly.

Spargel mit Backschinken und Sauce Hollandaise. Spargel schecht geschält und mehr als bissfest - dafür süß und ohne Salz. Backschinken ohne krosse Kruste. Kartoffeln von gestern und kurz warm gemacht. Die Sauce eine geschmacklose Pampe. Und alles lauwarm. So schlecht haben wir wohl noch nie gegessen. Dabei ist die Aussicht von der Burg absolute Spitze und die Servicekraft war perfekt.

Such a nice place the eat! How can you beat that view 👀👀 the food was delicious. I got smoked salmon with a potato pancake and the steak and potatoes were delicious as well. The service was friendly and relatively quick. The chocolate cake with ice cream and whipped cream was also to die for. Would definitely recommend to visit!!

Perfect location, very decent service but... the cuisine really doesn't keep up. The prices are not prohibitive, but we are very far from anything approaching "gastronomic", and it's a shame with such potential.

Very nice restaurant with great views and delicious food!

We were able to spend our last evening of our vacation here today and combine good food with a magnificent view. We were happy that we were able to get a table right by the window despite having made a reservation at very short notice. The food (rum steak and salmon) was good, the espresso didn't suit my taste, it was much too thin for me. The service was friendly and also very child-friendly, which we found very pleasant. I liked the modern feel of the restaurant, except for the blue ceiling lighting. I found the toilet situation a bit annoying, as you have to leave the restaurant; in heavy rain, like during our stay, you simply get wet.

If you are in Bernkastel-Kues and want delicious food in a combination with a unique view and a cozy atmosphere, then you should stop by the Burg Landshut restaurant. Reservations can be made easily via the website or by telephone. Here it's best to ask for a seat by the window and then have the perfect view over the city while you eat - something very special, especially in the evening with the lights. You have to park a little way from the restaurant, so you have to walk a few more steps (from the restaurant to the car it's uphill later!). We were positively surprised by the absolutely moderate prices; we had expected more in this special location. The prices are just as family-friendly as the restaurant itself and the attentive service. Everything tasted really great & we will definitely come back next time we visit Bernkastel-Kues :-)

Leider viel zu überteuerte Preise. Latte Kaffee für € 6,90 - das ist auch der tolle Blick auf die Mosel nicht wert. Stühle waren zwar gereinigt worden vom Winterschlaf … aber feucht/nass und die Gäste mussten mit nasser Hose das Lokal verlassen. Nur eine gemurmelte Entschuldigung und keine Geste vom Haus. Sehr ärgerlich!

Lovely place Delicious food Very nice service

A stylish restaurant in a very special setting. The restaurant is located directly in the Landshut castle ruins. It is modern and invitingly furnished. Worth mentioning is the extremely beautiful view of the city below, directly on the Moselle. Certainly very cozy in summer as there is outdoor dining in the inner courtyard and above the restaurant. The staff is friendly but not particularly on the ball. The food seemed very fresh and of good quality. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarrn was not convincing. This was very dry and tasted very burnt in places. Therefore, unfortunately one star is deducted here. All in all, definitely worth a visit and a clear recommendation! When we are in the area again we will stop by for another visit. If you want to fully enjoy the view of the valley below, you should climb the still existing and accessible keep. When the weather is great, the view is worth it.

Beautiful views and delicious food!!!

Nice atmosphere, food, great views! Theirs most expensive sekt is disappointing , not as good as most of the others in the Mosel region. dry riesling is good!

We were in Bernkastel-Kues for a long weekend and visited the restaurant twice with our three children. Very nice atmosphere, great view of the valley. I would particularly like to emphasize the child-friendliness. After we sat down at the table, the waitress brought art supplies and a game for the children without being asked. There is also a special children's menu with unusual names for the children's dishes. The children found that very funny. The food was very tasty and the portions are large. The children had ordered Anna and Elsa ice cream for dessert. The ice cream was decorated with glitter and sprinkles. Very lovingly made. The staff were friendly at all times and were happy and willing to answer the children's questions. We felt very comfortable there and would love to come back again!

The view from the top of the castle is definitely great, unfortunately we were completely covered in snow and everything was full of fog. The ambience and the huge window front with a view of the Moselle valley are simply great. The children were immediately provided with painting supplies so that they were initially calm. The food was really very good and we all had enough to eat.

The view and ambience are great. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. We waited a long time for service even though the restaurant didn't seem very full. The prices were steep. Above all, €4.50 for a glass of hot water and an Aldi tea bag (Westcliff black tea blend) doesn't leave a good impression....

Ate here during our vacation. The location is fantastic, in an old castle with a view of the Moselle and all of Bernkastel really really fantastic. However, the value for money of the food leaves something to be desired. It's understandable that a place like this is more expensive, but one of our group ordered a burger and there was nothing more than a slice of tomato and iceberg lettuce on it. And the schnitzel wasn't crispy because the sauce was on it for a long time before it was served.

Incredible views over the Moselle and Bernkastel. Well done location. The food and wine list are home-style.

Toller Ausblick vom Restaurant auf die Mosel, das Essen war in Ordnung, aber nichts Besonderes. Beim Burger z.B. nur ein Fertigpatty. Das Essen würde allerdings in angemessener Zeit serviert und der Service war freundlich. Allerdings muss man den Bedienungen selbst andeuten, dass man noch etwas bestellen will. Ab und zu man ungefragt nachfragen, ob man noch etwas wünscht, wäre nicht nur gastfreundlich, sondern würde sicherlich auch den Umsatz ankurbeln!

Selten ein so leckeres Rumpsteak gegessen. Mit Fensterplatz war die Aussicht fantastisch. Der Service war sehr nett.

Das Restaurant ist sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, war bei Ankunft leider nicht sauber. Der Boden, Tische und Stühle waren mit Essensresten beschmutzt. Wir besuchten das Restaurant mit 3 Personen. Das Carpaccio zur Vorspeise war ok. Das Olivenöl war jedoch zu dominant. Unser Hauptgang ( Angus Burger) war geschmacklos. Das Patty war sehr groß, jedoch leider nicht gewürzt. Der Burger wurde kalt serviert. Ein Patty war medium rare. Auf Nachfrage beantwortete die Servicemitarbeiterin, dass die Burger stets Medium serviert werden. Dies wurde jedoch nicht in der Karte ausgewiesen. Für den Preis und die Location hat man mehr erwartet. Wir kannten das Restaurant bereits seit 2018 mit einer anderen Speisekarte ( und wie wir herausfanden mit andere Besitzer). Die Mitarbeiterin bot uns an 3 neue Burger zu bringen, was an diesem Punkt positiv anzusehen ist.

Burg Landshut mit vielen gratis Parkplätzen vor dem Haus oder auf der etwas höher gelegenen Ebene, ist einen Abstecher wert. Die Karte bietet viele kulinarische Köstlichkeiten, auch an die Kleinen wurde sehr eingehend gedacht. Wir hatten für die Erwachsenen den Steak Salat und für das Kind den "Bürgermeister Besserwisser Burge". Dazu Radler, Cola Zero, Wasser und später Kaffee. Das Essen war köstlich. Schaut euch die Bilder an. Nichts blieb übrig. Und wir hatten das Glück einen Tisch am Fenster mit der unglaublich schönen Aussicht auf die Mosel und Umgebung zu genießen. Hier kann man entspannen und zur Ruhe kommen. Der Preis ist an die Umgebung angepasst aber akzeptabel mit knapp 70 € (Stand September 2023) für alles von uns 4 Personen. Die Toilette ist über Treppen zu erreichen und auch im Restaurant gibt es Stufen aber hier wurde an Rollstuhlfahrer gedacht. Es gibt einen extra Lift zum WC. Das nennen wir Top Service und vergeben hier Bestnote.

Reserved a table days in advanced. Flew from America mostly excited about eating at castle restaurant. Showed up a few minutes early. At the door a young woman asks what I wanted. I Told her I had reserved a table at window. My husband and I wanted a romantic evening. There were 4 window tables empty and no one waiting behind us. The young lady was very Kirt and placed us towards the back at a table where my view was of other people sitting at the window and not as I had requested days earlier when placing reservation. The next young women who came up explained that no one is guaranteed a window seat and it was first come first serve for window seats. I explained that it should have been made perfectly clear when I made the reservation. I watched the woman who took the reservation write down window seat. She repeated it to me as well that it would be a window seat reservation. She was very pleasant, but the two girls who were there when we showed up for dinner were so snobby and rude. They never even looked at their tablet to see our reservation. And there were four empty tables available. We got up and left. As we were leaving, I could hear her saying in German "thank god they are gone" so the entire place could hear it. I was trying to be as pleasant as possible and spoke softly throughout this exchange and quietly walked out without creating a scene. The comments made as we left were so completely unnecessary. I got the feeling we were not the first to be treated like this. For sure I will NEVER go back. It was six o'clock in the evening and I thought it odd that Bernkastle was completely pack all day with people but hardly anyone was at the Castle restaurant up top. We had been staying in town for three weeks. Now after reading more reviews (which I should have done first) I have a better understanding of how things work up at the castle. Just treat people really bad and no one comes back. And make sure to talk loud enough while being rude so everyone thinks the customer is the bad guy here. Then make rude comments very loud as they leave. ( We ended up at a very nice restaurant down the road that had amazing food and service.) These two young women who worked there would have been fired if I were the owner. They have tag teaming and bullying customers down to a science. Think twice before going. You could be the next customers who gets bullied. Shame on them and shame on whoever the boss is that allows this behavior. It was 6pm October 2nd, 2023. There have been many wonderful places to eat in Berncastle that had great food and great service personel. Stay clear of the castle restaurant!!!

窓側の席でステーキサラダを頼みました。景色も美しいし、観光地にしては値段も高くなく、サラダのマッシュルームとオニオンはしっかりグリルされていてとても美味しかったです。店内のムードも良かったので、おすすめです。

Der Service war schnell und freundlich. Das Essen hat geschmeckt. Am schönsten ist der Ausblick ! Es hat uns hier sehr gefallen.

After a long steep walk up to the castle, the cafe provided really tasty apple strudel and ice cream! Delicious! A hit all round! Worth the walk up-and great views! Also great kids food too , no trouble getting a seat

Great atmosphere, clean and friendly service. We were very happy to see they had a menu with several clearly labeled vegan dishes, such as a vegan burger, Flammkuchen, Rosti and pasta.

Die Preise sind etwas zu hoch, besonders für Kaffee und Kuchen - Bedienung war aber nett, Käsekuchen war lecker und für die Aussicht zahlt man eben mit :)

Tagessuppe war sehr gut. Bürger Durchschnitt. Pommes zu hart und trocken . Service war sehr gut und zuvorkommend.

Das Essen ist stark verbesserungswürdig. Die Tagessuppe war nicht wirklich heiß. Der Angus Burger war trocken. Der Lachs war lecker allerdings wurde er auf eiskaltem Gurken-Kartoffelsalat in einem Suppenteller serviert und dadurch sehr schnell kalt. Nebeneinander auf einem normalen flachen Teller angerichtet, wäre das nicht passiert.

Tolles Ambiente, Service sehr nett, aber nur 1 Bedienung für ein volles Restaurant, Essen unterdurchschnittlich von Qualität und Geschmack. Schmeckt wie in einer Kantine, aber gehobenes Preisniveau.

Sehr freundliches, kompetentes Personal. Feine Speisen und leckere Kuchen. Die Hamburger sind sehr zu empfehlen. Im Außenbereich sitzt man wahlweise von den Burgmauern umgeben oder auf einer Terrasse mit 360 Grad Blick. Im Innenbereich hat man durch viele große Fenster einen schönen Blick über die Stadt Bernkastel und die Mosel Empfehlenswert 👍

Ein gut geführtes Restaurant auf der Burg Landshut mit einen guten Speisenangebot und Panoramablick auf die Mosel nebst Stadt Bernkastel,sollte man unbedingt mal einkehren. MONTAG-SONNTAG von 11:00-21:00 UHR geöffnet,MITTWOCH ist RUHETAG.Die Burg selber bietet auch einen schönen Rundblick,die Turmbesteigung kostet pro Person 1,-Euro(Kassenautomat)im Burghof.Genügend Parkplätze stehen auch kostenlos zur Verfügung auch ein Lift ist für Leute da die nicht so gut zu Fuss sind,oder man fährt mit den Panoramabus von Bernkastel bis hoch für 7,-Euro pro Person.

Die Punkte gibt es nur für die schöne Aussicht. 4 Personen Personal haben es kaum geschafft 6 Tische zu bedienen. Die waren mehr mit sich selbst beschäftigt. Einfach Spargel mit Kartoffeln hat etwa 1 Stunde gedauert. Zwei Kartoffeln waren nicht gar, zwei Kartoffeln waren kurz vorm schlecht werden, also blieben drei kleine Kartoffeln übrig, die nicht vernünftig geputzt waren. Der Spargel war total ohne Geschmack, nur wässrig. Das Lokal ist als beschämend zu bewerten. NIE WIEDER! Hoffentlich sind Andere Gäste schlauer als wir und lesen die vielen schlechten Bewertungen vorher, damit sie ihr Geld nicht zum Fenster raus werfen.

Ich hatte frühzeitig einen Tisch für 8 Personen reserviert. Obwohl die Reservierung Monate her war, war der Tisch wie gewünscht reserviert. Das Essen (ich hatte Rumpsteak) war wirklich klasse. Auf den Punkt (Medium rare) gegrillt und wirklich schmackhaft. Als Nachtisch hatten wir Kaiserschmarren. Dieser war auch lecker, hatte aber mit bayrischem Kaiserschmarren nicht viel gemein. Auch das Personal war wirklich klasse. Vielen Dank für den schönen und leckeren Abend.

Das personal war mehr beschäftigt mit deren Handys als mit den Gästen, der Barmann war beim Nagelbeissen und bediente danach ruhig die Gäste. Dazu unfreundlich und langsam. 4 man personal konnten 5 Tische kaum bedienen... Wir wollten eigentlich ein Dessert aber haben aufgegeben und haben es anderswo gegessen. Für die Preise war das Essen nur durchschnittlich. Das Restaurant war schön und modern, schade vom Personal.

Wir haben am vergangenen Freitag unsere standesamtliche Trauung mit 15 Personen im Restaurant Burg Landshut gefeiert. Nach anfänglicher Verwirrung durch einen Personalwechsel im Veranstaltungsmanagement haben wir uns schließlich in den Wochen zuvor gut betreut gefühlt. Uns wurde ein Menü inkl einer Weinauswahl ausgearbeitet und unsere Dekowünsche aufgegriffen. Bei Ankunft fanden wir dann eine sehr geschmackvoll dekorierte Hochzeitstafel vor malerischer Kulisse vor. Das Essen war stimmig und der Wein passend. Die Betreuung war gut und der Service freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und unsere Gäste waren begeistert. Wir bedanken uns sehr herzlich für diese schöne Erinnerung!

We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance, requested a table near the window, which was confirmed by email. Upon arrival, however, we were told there was no table available next to the window. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, which was fine since we were apparently too late with our reservation. Imagine our surprise when 5 minutes later, a couple came in who explicitly told the waiter they had no reservations was seated at the free table next to the window. Rather odd, since that same table was reserved when we asked. Next to this, the service wasn’t great overall. We were asked the same things multiple times, new bread was brought after we finished our main course. We were not asked if we wanted another drink, dessert or coffee, but brought the bill after we finished our meal. Food was OK, nothing spectacular. The view is great, however that does not make up for the experience. If you are looking for a nice place to eat in Bernkastel, you should consider other options.

Eerst lang moeten wachten op ons drankje. Nogthans met 6 personen aan het bedienen/ aan de toog en niet druk. Toen we de rekening gingen vragen, zuchte de vrouw en zei dat ze wel aan tafel ging komen. Terug wachten, zij rustig aan het praten met andere ober. We deden dan maar teken naar een ober die net onze richting uitkeek. Waarop die eerste dame heel boos onze richting uitkwam, iets mompelde in het Duits en het betaalbakje gewoon op de tafel gooide! 😳 de mensen naast ons keken ook geschrokken. Nog nooit meegemaakt dit! Echt schandalig! Hier komen we nooit meer terug!
