Mediocre food at exorbitant prices with catastrophically bad service.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was just perfect. It's not exactly cheap, but it's definitely worth it.

Everything was great for redeeming my Amex Restaurant credit. The food tasted excellent. I'm deducting one star because of the €22 for the salmon as a starter, when the lunch menu with veal rump costs €34. Surely you can't get the veal rump on its own for €12?! ;-)

Very friendly service, authentic and typical of Munich. Somewhat hidden away at Stachus, and therefore much quieter than other restaurants. Upscale ambiance and sophisticated cuisine. Very good wine list, and a wide selection of other drinks is also available. All in all, a wonderful visit. I'd gladly return!

Discrimination. Upon entering, while they were talking about the number of people, I simply said no and was refused entry, so I had to leave.

As you step into Weinhaus Neuner, you’re immediately struck by the beauty of the space. They have an amazing selection of wines to enjoy and a nice range of food options. As we entered the dining room, we were immediately aware of a very loud American family. As they were finishing up their meal, they decided it was time to have a really loud, open discussion, sharing their ill-informed opinions on world history. A lot of who could have and should have done what, when, and lots of things that I would have thought deserved a quieter dialogue, in a less public space. Thankfully a local young man, who looked like he was out on a big date came over to the group and asked if they could keep their voices down and views to themselves. I wouldn’t have said it as politely, so I am glad he was there. His date seemed impressed, and so did the other diners. Glad that the pre-dinner theatre was over, we settled in and ordered our food. They gave us a little amuse-bouche, a cold tomato soup in a small glass with some basil. It was simple and delicious. For mains we went with the: Monkfish Medallions - I liked the flavours of this dish and the texture of the fish. Viennese Veal Schnitzel - a good traditional schnitzel, with some potato salad and some cranberry–horseradish cream. We also ordered the Weinhaus Neuner Specialty, a Truffled Chicken Fricassee under a puff pastry lid. All the mains were good, but this was a definite winner. Was just a cool presentation and great flavours, the chicken was very moist. For dessert we shared two of their options: a Bavarian Cream with a basil sorbet and the Oven-fresh Kaiserschmarrn for two. A traditional dish of shredded pancake with raisins, almonds, vanilla ice cream, and apple compote. The menu lets you know it will take around 25 minutes to prepare, but that was the perfect time to let dinner settle. Aside from the wines, they also had a homemade elderflower lemonade that was delicious. The staff were lovely and knowledgeable about wine pairings for the food. The food was traditional, but elevated and we all really enjoyed our meals. The place has a decent reputation, and I am glad to confirm if you are wanting to try some good quality German cuisine and love a good wine list. This is worth trying.

A wonderful restaurant, beautifully and centrally located in the old town with plenty of terrace seating. The service is very friendly, attentive, and highly trained. The food is primarily fine German and Austrian cuisine. The taste and quality of the dishes and wines are outstanding. My husband and I have been eating here for years and have never been disappointed. The prices are on the high side, but definitely justified given the quality of the food and service. We can therefore wholeheartedly recommend Weinhaus Neuner!

The food was very good (although the starter was a bit large), and everyone in our group enjoyed their meal. The freshly baked bread was really great. The service was quick and polite; we arrived early and on a less busy evening. The interior is nicely wood-paneled, and the music is a bit unpleasant, but not loud. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food.

The gourmet restaurant is located on a quieter street. The staff is professional. My requests were readily accommodated. A table outside, a small vegetarian meal, and a glass of wine. Pinot Blanc. It was good. Beforehand, I was served bread, gazpacho, Obaza, and quark without asking. I had ordered tagliatelle with chanterelles as a vegetarian snack. The dish was good. For dessert, I had the Bavarian cream, and it was simply amazing. Outstanding.

A place with a long history, which is reflected in the restaurant. We had fantastic food and drinks. The service was perfect.

Found this place recommended on a blog called You Should Go Here. You should only go here if you are willing to pay crazy tourist prices for okay food in a stuffy atmosphere. The food was fine, the service was attentive, there wasn’t really any atmosphere and it was very very expensive. Wouldn’t recommend.

Current review: Unfortunately, I have to revise my originally positive review. The food is still very good, but the staff—especially at the entrance around 8 p.m. today—was extremely unfriendly and not very customer-oriented. We wanted to have a drink and eat Kaiserschmarrn outside. The response was: "No, I don't have a table outside for that." Even though several tables were almost ready, we weren't offered a moment's notice or offered a solution. The tone was so rude that we ended up leaving. It's a shame—we were actually looking forward to a nice evening. I've been to this restaurant several times and have always been satisfied, but after this experience, I think I'll have to find another place. Previous review: The best Kaiserschmarren and Hühnerfrikassee I've ever had! The prices are reasonable overall—only the French wine felt a bit overpriced. But the food? Absolutely excellent.

Had lunch at Weinhaus Neuner as part of the AMEX dining credit and it did not disappoint. We walked in at about 2pm so there were just a couple of diners. Was promptly greeted and ushered to our table. Menu is available in English and we ordered just 2 main courses; monk fish and a chicken special (served as a pot pie). Bread was served along with an olive spread as well as a cheese spread. The interior of the restaurant is rich in history. Believe the server mentioned that the property dates back to the 1600s. All in all, it was a 5" experience.

A decent Bavarian restaurant with Southern German/Austrian cuisine. Service was pleasantly quick and unobtrusive. I'd happily return.

A very good restaurant in downtown Munich with excellent food and attentive service. The fried potatoes could have been a bit crispier, and the extra sauce I ordered was forgotten.

Hello ladies and gentlemen of Augustiner. I have a complaint truer than hell: It’s almost impossible to get a beer from the wood barrel unless you sit at a table — and every damn table is booked for dinner guests flashing bigger wallets. Good for you. Business is business. But let’s be clear — Your bars became places for meetings, suits, and plates, while the guy who just loves Augustiner Helles gets treated like a beggar — waiting, ignored, like you’re doing him a favor. Long story short: The beer is Augustiner Helles. The heart of it. You don’t sideline the beer drinkers. You don’t squeeze out the legacy to make a few extra bucks on schnitzels and Dolce Vita vibes. If you want money, go global. Bottle it up. Sell out properly. But don’t stand behind German tradition while humiliating the ones who come for the beer, not your business lunches. Make no mistake — Augustiner Helles isn’t just a beer. It’s a legacy. And if you keep this up, I hope your restaurants close and only the barrels remain — served with respect. Servus.

Food and service are the best. I can’t believe I haven’t been to this restaurant before. This was the best Bavarian food I ever had. It’s very sophisticated and well priced. I really loved the lunch there. Thanks for the amazing time!!

Just great. Were there during Bauma. A great alternative to beer, pork knuckles and white sausage in the middle of Munich. Selected and delicious wines! Great food Only recommended. We'll be back.

A good concept in itself and I've never been disappointed with the food but I find it too tense at times. It's a restaurant from Leu Deux or a concept of it, but they don't have a star. I know a lot of even somewhat conservative star restaurants and I would like it to be more relaxed there too. Otherwise everything was really great, especially the service 👌🏻

I've been here a few times before, and the food was very good. So I wanted to make a reservation with friends. However, when I read on the website that this restaurant charges €3 per person for a cover charge, I decided to go somewhere else. With food prices this high, it's not justified. It's a shame that many restaurants are becoming increasingly greedy.

Weinhaus Neuner is a great spot for a Bavarian and Austrian meal, open from midday to midnight—perfect for any time of day! We went for a late lunch and had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend the schnitzel and their special chicken soup, both were flavorful and comforting. A solid choice for traditional dishes in a cozy setting! 🍽️🇩🇪✨

Das Gewölbe rechterhand ist äußerst rustikal angenehm eingerichtet, auf der anderen Seite ist ein ähnlich schöner Raum moderner gestaltet. Der Kocktail zum Apero traf dank seiner bitteren Note meinen Geschmack genauso wie der ausgewählte Barolo. Die Hirschterrine mit getoastetem Briochebrot eine wahre Delikatesse. Warum allerdings großzügig absolut geschmacksneutraler Wintertrüffel auf das Frikassee gehobelt wird erschließt sich mir nicht. Auch eine Scheibe von der Blätterteigrolle auf die Löwenterrine gekleistert hat mit Tradition nichts zu tun. Bei diesem Preis müssten es schon 2 Pasteten aus feinem Butterblätterteig vom ausgesuchten Bäcker sein. Trotz dieser Enttäuschung gibt es 5 grüne Punkte von mir, auch dank des sehr freundlichen und professionellen Service "meines" Kellners.

A restaurant with rarity value in Munich. There are a lot of pubs in the city. But very few with really good food. The Weinhaus Neuner is one of them. Great food and, above all, great service. We always enjoy coming back.

Place is good, food too. Service could be slower; looksike they are in a hurry. The waiter took my drink without asking me if I was done, just because my main course was served. What if I prefer to have my drink after, with the desert?

Visitamos aquí 2 x durante nuestra estancia. Vaya, qué gran experiencia. Julian, nuestro servidor, iniciado es correctamente siempre. La carta de vinos es muy buena, y genial si sabes qué buscar, específicamente Peter Lauer. El menú es pequeño, pero cada plato es increíble y muy estacional. Una alta recomendación para visitar este lugar no le hace justicia. Es un lugar que no te pierdas.

We ordered the beef tartare, viennese schnitzel and chickens truffle fricassee, all dishes were amazing. Well prepared, well presented, and absolutely delicious. The side potatoes were also great. We were glad to have our first meal in Munich in this place!

During our visit to Munich am Stachus we got to know the Neuner restaurant and were immediately impressed. The ambience is excellent and invites you to linger. Particularly noteworthy is the first-class service, which impressed us with its friendliness and professionalism. The food was simply great - in a way that we have never experienced at any other restaurant. Every dish was lovingly prepared and tasted excellent. We were completely satisfied and can recommend the Restaurant Neuner without reservation. We will definitely reserve a table again on our next visit to Munich. Just great!

The wine house has a pleasant ambience, noticeably friendly service and, in addition to a good selection of wines, down-to-earth fish and meat dishes. The food is a little adapted to the season but also with classics. Eel as a starter is rarely found on a menu but is highly recommended. Come again. Prices a little more expensive but commensurate with the quality.

As a starter we had the lettuce for 2. The salad actually comes in a hollowed out lettuce and that is not only creative but also very tasty. The main course was a wonderfully souffléed Wienerschnitzel with fried potatoes with plenty of onions. The service was very courteous, attentive and entertaining. Overall, a decent price level for which the performance matches.

Ich war zum Mittagsmenü im Weinhaus Neuner, und das war sehr überzeugend. Die Speisen allesamt von toller Qualität und der Service äußerst zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente mit den historischen Holzvertäfelungen ist natürlich auch etwas Besonderes!

Lovely atmosphere and good service. For the price, I felt the quality of the food and portion sizes fell short. The char fillet was very small. The prince regent cake is too dry (but it comes with ice cream and jam which help) and the run and raisin ice cream served alongside didn't taste of rum at all. My friend had the chicken pot pie which was good though - the soup is clear and was a nice contrast to the buttery pastry.

Ich mag das Weinhaus Neuner. Man bekommt dort in einem bayerisch-urigen Ambiente bekannte Küche mit einem Touch Exklusivität. Wenn man das mit einem guten Wein begleiten will, wird einem dort immer ein passender Wein empfohlen. Oder man bleibt beim Bier, was auch niemandem stört. Bei einem Besuch zu zweit wird man inkl. Getränken und Trinkgeld ca. 150-200 EUR ausgeben, was es auf alle Fälle wert sein kann.

Jedes Gericht ein Traum für sich, perfekte Beratung beim Wein. Herzlichkeit und Gastlichkeit. Vielen Dank!

The place and the food were very good, but at the time we went they were overloaded and it took them a long time to bring us the dishes.

An excellent restaurant, it is recommended to make a reservation in advance when you come in the evening. Great service, very professional, understand good food and wine. The portions were generous and very tasty, we really enjoyed everything.
