Café Ludwig in München

Coffee very good. But the Kuxhen piece for €8.50 doesn't work at all.

Spontaneous visit to Cafe Ludwig – very positive! After a walk, I spontaneously stopped by Cafe Ludwig and was very pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a short break. I enjoyed an Aperol Spritz that was mixed just right - refreshing and well balanced. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more enjoyable. A great place to relax after a walk. I'll definitely be back!

Good place in the "green" for a delicious breakfast in the park. Very friendly service that was really committed despite the large crowds! - Great The breakfast offering is classic. Freshly squeezed orange juice is pleasantly cool and the coffee is also delicious. I also really enjoyed the malt bread with fried egg, bacon and cream cheese. But I only felt full after eating a manageable bowl of cereal. Overall, a good place for breakfast on the weekend. - Unfortunately, the local stream currently stinks quite a bit, which is a bit annoying when sitting outside. But the restaurant can't do anything about it :)

Food good and nice to sit outside and inside. New tenant. Portions a bit too small. Although I wasn't particularly hungry, I had to order a portion of fries after the pasta pockets in order to feel somewhat full. It feels like the menu is becoming more and more compact and the prices are getting higher and higher.

We've been coming to Café Ludwig for many years... But after the change of tenant we got a shock today: a piece of cake for 7.50/8.50! That's not possible... We're not here in Venice at Piazza San Marco. It's a shame... We really liked the café, but that was definitely the last time for us. We hope that common sense will come back the next time the tenant changes... It probably won't be long until then!

New tenant - new prices! When we were there a week ago, we fell out backwards... €7.50 for a piece of cake and €8.50 for a piece of cake is simply not possible! After many years and regular visits there, that was it for us. From now on it's better to go to Café Scheidplatz.

We have been going to Café Ludwig for years. However, we were shocked by the prices today. Since the change of tenant a few weeks ago, the cake price has increased from 4.50 euros to 7.50 euros. The cake is neither gilded nor bigger than before. At this price it was the last visit for us. Very unfortunate.

Prices without words. After a walk today we wanted to treat ourselves to a piece of cake, but when we saw the prices we were honestly surprised and speechless €7.50 to €8.50 for a single piece? This is definitely at the upper limit and in our opinion simply too expensive, more of a rip-off. Of course there are always differences depending on the location and concept, but here you get the feeling that the prices are no longer in proportion. Ultimately we decided not to order anything and move on. The restaurant itself is really nice, and the staff can't do anything about the pricing, so fair points. But for us it remains just this one visit. We won't come to you anymore. Peter

I almost never write reviews and when I do, they are always positive, but here I unfortunately have to make an exception: yesterday (it was already quite late, around 6 p.m.) we wanted to take two pieces of cake to go and paid €16 for them. We were really shocked at the prices and I have never seen anything like that anywhere else. If it hadn't been so late and there had been other cafés nearby, I would have left straight away. They were two small pieces and they didn't even taste particularly good. I am happy to spend a lot of money on good food, but this is a complete rip-off and the value for money is absolutely outrageous. That was the last time I visit this café.

Very rude manager, cold coffee and didn’t even bother to reheat it when asked

Honestly, this place was a disappointment. The place is beautiful but the menu was underwhelming, very overpriced, and the service personel were stretched and totally overwhelmed… not their fault at all, they were clearly understaffed and you could see the manager inside not really supporting their team. 18€ for a vegan curry without rice, is completely insane, and the taste was so so. Coffee would be around 5-6€, wienerschnitzel was nearly 30€. Overall a sub par experience

Dialogue with the waitress: Wednesday afternoon around 2:30/3:00 p.m., bright sunshine. I: Can I sit on the terrace? Waitress: We don't serve outside. I: Look at guests sitting outside (two occupied tables and two tables not yet cleared, maybe there was one that I didn't see) Waitress: You have to order and get the drinks yourself inside I: Okay, can I also order the food inside and pick it up? Waitress: I should ask the colleague inside. We don't know what's going on now. Colleague didn't even look up, was engrossed in his laptop or tablet or something. I then left because I didn't want to beg to get rid of my money and didn't want to chase after basic service skills. Please don't get me wrong, I feel sorry for the waitress in this case because she didn't receive any instructions from the supervisor. Also, no board was put up stating that there are only self-service drinks or food. For me it's not a bad thing to get my own drinks and food, but it's strange when there are two occupied tables. Also that the same prices are charged. Please communicate with your employees and guests to avoid many misunderstandings. All the best

Good, relaxed place in a perfect location to rest after going around with the kids. They usually have good cakes. Food is light and good for a light lunch. One downside is that their doors are ridiculously difficult to use, very heavy and they close immediately. Automatic doors would make sense, a lot of the visitors have strollers with them (kids park right in front of them)

Always worth a visit. Very tasty cakes, good coffee and friendly service. Payment only possible in cash or EC.

We celebrated our wedding in the summer of 2024 at Café Ludwig and it was simply perfect! The free wedding ceremony, the meal and the party in the evening were designed exactly according to our wishes. The flying buffet was excellent and was individually tailored to us. We were particularly impressed by the beautiful floral decorations and the fantastic wedding cake that were organized by the house. A big plus point: no room rental! Leon's entire team was extremely courteous and took care of everything. It was the perfect location for us and we would celebrate here again at any time!

The atmosphere is great! Big open space and many tables outside for a lovely sunny day. The staff is attentive, everything is clean and I can see that locals return regurarly. We only drank coffee and I ordered a soup, but it seems to me the prices are a little but too high. I can’t say anything regarding the food quality, except that my soup was delicious! There seems to be a breakfast/lunch menu if you go in the earlier hours. The place is suitable for events.

You absolutely can't complain about the service and the ambience. That was totally right. The food is ok but nothing special. We had soup in a glass as a starter, but it was poured into the glass in a completely careless manner and served without a saucer. A few herbs or a little icing on the cake would have contributed a lot to the visual appearance. The pasta was very bland in taste, there was a lot of salt missing and you didn't notice much of the sage in the sage butter. The mousse au chocolate was served in a glass like the soup and visually very bland. Nevertheless, we had a nice evening.

We had a wonderful Christmas party here. The service was excellent.

it was quiet after lunch, I had ordered a lot of food and drinks and was working on my laptop not disturbing anyone, and the service staff was very rude to me in telling me to leave with a snarky joke.

Thank you!!! We celebrated our daughter's confirmation at Café Ludwig and eat here every now and then. I would give at least 10 stars especially for the service. We felt completely looked after. Ms. A. helped us a lot and made the festival a special experience for all of us. The food was fantastic and very tasty. The upper area is well separated from the restaurant, so we were able to celebrate undisturbed. I can recommend this location without exception!

Small café/restaurant in Petuelpark, you can also sit outside. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and tasty, unfortunately the fruit salad was very small for the vegetarian option. The gourmet breakfast for 2 people was really plentiful and very fair in price. Unfortunately there was no gluten-free bread available. If you're looking for a simple but good breakfast, this is the place for you. Service was friendly and accommodating.

They greet you with faces like: why did you come! The prices don't match the taste of the food! I was sad that a few years ago the restaurant was much better! The waiters are out of place, you need to be at least friendly!

Café Ludwig is a nice restaurant in a cool location right next to the park 🙌🏽 The price-performance ratio is definitely right here 💯 The service is friendly and courteous 👍🏽 The breakfast is delicious, but unfortunately rather typically German and a bit basic 😬 A few variations with avocado or slightly more unusual dishes would be desirable 🫶🏽

Definitely not terrible. Just difficult to recommend or schedule a repeat performance. A limited menu might be to do with more lunch than brunch-time. I discovered I'm not a Dinzler coffee fan. I was underwhelmed with the house wine, again very subjective. My goat's cheese salad was absolutely fine. Ambience and decor pleasant.

Dieses Café ist sehr schön. Ich würde es immer weiter empfehlen. Allerdings muss man an besonderen Tagen wie Muttertag länger auf die Bedienung warten, die leider als Einzige im Gartenbereich bedient hat. An sonsten sind die Getränke und das Kuchensortiment auch sehr lecker. Die Kuchenstücke könnten allerdings ein bisschen größer sein. Alles in allem: ich liebe dieses Café und die Lage.

Heute waren wir mit unserer Familie beim brunchen . Es war sehr schön und die Bedienung war sehr nett . Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und der Käsekuchen aus der Kuchentheke hat meinen Töchtern auch sehr geschmeckt . Wir werden gerne wieder kommen .

War alles in allem super. Ich mag gerne Waffeln oder pfannekuchen zum Frühstück, das wäre toll gewesen. Aber das Essen war trotzdem sehr gut.

Der Besuch am Samstag zu Kaffee und Kuchen war wieder rundum super. Wir hatten letztes Jahr dort schon einen Geburtstag gefeiert und sind einfach von den göttlichen Kuchen, dem freundlichen Service und dem gemütlichen Ambiente begeistert. Die Spritz waren auch sehr lecker! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Maybe the waitress just had a bad day - but then she has no business here. Arrogant, haughty, unfriendly, rude. Maybe I'm really too old - but in the past the guest was asked if they wanted to sit someone at the table. It doesn't have to be that way. Oh yes: when paying, there was a note that “it is customary for us to tip 10%”. The sentence alone! My answer: "If the service is right, I'll even have more..." They don't see me anymore. It doesn't have to. Enough racing like this...

Wir haben dieses Jahr im Juli unsere Hochzeit im Café Ludwig gefeiert und sind nach wie vor davon überzeugt, dass wir die beste Entscheidung getroffen haben. Vom ersten Kontakt an wurden wir freundlich und kompetent beraten, so dass wir die Feier ganz nach unseren Wünschen gestalten konnten. Dabei konnten wir uns durchgehend auf die gastronomische Expertise des Teams verlassen und wurden auch proaktiv mit Ideen versorgt. Sie haben sich die Zeit genommen, mit uns durch den Ablauf zu besprechen und haben uns durch alle wichtigen Punkte der Planung durchgeführt. Das Café Ludwig hat für unsere Feier nicht nur den Sektempfang und das Abendessen organisiert, sondern sich außerdem um die Hochzeitstorte, Equipment für die Musik, Beamer und die Deko gekümmert. Durch die transparente Kostenkalkulation wussten wir von Anfang an, welches Budget wir einplanen müssen. Ab Beginn der Feier wurde sich um alles gekümmert und jeder Wunsch wurde uns von den Lippen abgelesen. So konnten wir uns einfach aufs Feiern konzentrieren und den Tag genießen. Im Nachgang gabs auch von unseren Gästen ausschließlich positives Feedback, von der Freundlichkeit des Teams über die tolle Location (inklusive Deko) bis hin zur Auswahl und Qualität des Essens und der Getränke. Besonders schön war das Abendessen draußen auf der Terrasse! Da es an unserem Hochzeitstag sehr warm war, war es sehr angenehm, abends draußen bleiben zu können. Daher können wir uns nur von ganzen Herzen beim Café Ludwig Team bedanken, dass ihr geholfen habt unseren Tag so besonders werden zu lassen. Vielen Dank!

Hervorzuheben ist die außerordentlich aufmerksame und sehr sehr freundliche Bedienung. Wir hatten einen sehr schöne Frühstückszeit.

Das Lokal ist nett und der Service absolut in Ordnung. Nur möchte ich darauf aufmerksam machen ob 13.50 Euro für 2 Weisswürste , eine Breze und ein kleines Wasser gerechtfertigt sind.

We booked the very gorgeous Cafe Ludwig for a 60th birthday party, and I can honestly say it was the best decision we ever made. People kept saying to me at the party: what an amazing place - well done for organising such a great event. I did nothing: it was the professional and kind management and staff at this wonderful restaurant that did it all. From the offset, Café Ludwig was super attentive and highly organised. Following my first email contact, I got a call back from Leon the manager within a day. He put together a rough plan of how the evening could look with menu options, suggestions on how the live band could be accommodated, and basically he showed me how we could get this event done with zero stress but maximum fun. I really appreciated his professionalism, all-round experience – also in technical matters - and super positive outlook. I felt like I was in the best hands. On the day of the party, we had plenty of time to set up and decorate the beautiful rooms in advance. There was a gorgeous prosecco, wine and beer reception bar inside the door and three extremely nice and considerate staff to support us for the night. And it really did feel like support. I never had to approach anyone. Those three young people came to me with gentle reminders about timing, when the buffet should be set up, when to bring out the cake or whatever else needed to be done to ensure a smooth-running function. This was service at its best. The food was top notch. I am sorry I didn’t get to thank the cook before he left for the evening but I was able to ensure my thanks via his colleagues. The café is perfect for these sorts of occasions. It is modern, spacious and can be reorganised flexibly. The staff were able to clear furniture after the food buffet to create a dance floor downstairs. For those who wanted to chat quietly, they could go upstairs but still look out onto the dance floor from up there, enjoying the vibe from the party down below and staying part of the event. A big merci to Leon and his team. Many thanks to my three helpers on the night for cutting the cake, magnificently managing the bar, taking care of guests needs and being all-round top people. Our experience with Café Ludwig was one of a kind – we know that and our guests on the night know that too and they appreciated it greatly. We can highly recommend Café Ludwig if you want a seamlessly organised and special party or event experience. Thank you!

Sehr leckeres Bruch in angenehmer Atmosphäre mit super nettem Personal

Ich war gestern Abend zu Gast im Ludwig (geschlossene Gesellschaft) auf einem rundum gelungenen Abend! Dies war unter anderem, neben gutem Essen und top Location, auch dem wirklich herausragend tollen Personal geschuldet! Wach, aufmerksam, authentisch freundlich (eben genau nicht diese geschulte und zwanghafte, oftmals anstrengende Überfreundlichkeit), hilfsbereit, schnell und unaufdringlich! Man fühlt sich als Gast geschätzt und willkommen! Ein dickes Lob und ein herzliches Danke dafür!

Wir wurden superaufmerksam bedient, das Personal war charmant, witzig und sehr freundlich. Die Weißwürste waren eine Wucht. Es war ein rundum angenehmes Vergnügen.

Wie immer war es eine Freude bei Euch zu essen. Der Schweinebraten war lecker und die Servicekraft , liebt zu unserer Freude, ihren Job. Kleine Mängel, ich fand es etwas kühl und für mich gab es leider nicht so viel Auswahl auf der Speicherkarte. Ansonsten, immer wieder gerne.

Schnelle und extrem freundliche Bedienung. Kuchen hervorragend. Perfekter Zwischenstop bei einem Spaziergang am Wochenende!
