For me it's one of the best restaurants for sushi and grill in the entire area. Everyone can find what they want here. If you're a little hungry, you can get away cheaper by ordering individual plates than with all you can eat, but no matter what you choose, the price is very fair and justified for this quality. Another highlight are the juices and spritzers. Short conclusion for two adults, both all you can eat 4 large drinks and tip approx. 90€.

Very good food and the service is perfect. Whether you absolutely have to go in the evening is up to you. We have now tried both and are of the opinion that there is not a big difference between the lunch offer and the evening offer and therefore the price difference is a bit much. But as I said, everyone should try it out for themselves.

We know Watami from Kempten in the Allgäu, which is why we went to Watami here in Gersthofen. The quality is great, the service is very fast! BUT compared to Watami in Kempten, not even half the selection of food. For just under 35 euros, the price-performance ratio in Gersthofen is not right.

Great food, pleasant ambience, nice staff. They should improve a bit the organisation of the orders_ we didn't received one ordered dish (from the menu, not from buffet). We discussed the issue with the waiters, they told they delete it but we still payed it at the end, being offered instead a whisky;) The red wine was served quite cold and in some general glasses,not for red wine. Promising start, hope they will work on improvements, as some real Japanese 👍

Simply recommended, especially if you don't know what you like, the "all you can eat" offer is great, no queuing at the buffet, every course is brought to you. You can order 5 dishes within 10 minutes and eat your way up and down the menu. Don't order the ice cream until the end, it's brought to the table very quickly.

What was that?! Atmosphere like in a crowded fast food restaurant, sushi like from the supermarket (maximum), overwhelmed, extremely hectic service, grilled chicken breast with an incredible amount of fat, not completely cooked yakitori skewers (...) You order via an iPad and all parts of the order come individually . The result: cold vegetables and cold rice when the meat comes to the table. The sushi comes on a sparse, carelessly "prepared" plate without wasabi and ginger. When we asked, we received it after 10 minutes. I've been to many, many Japanese restaurants in many places around the world, but this one doesn't even have good takeaway quality. I absolutely cannot recommend!!!

The concept is good. The implementation was quite successful. However, just 1 iPad Pro table leads to stress. Food is good, but sometimes the food was forgotten to be delivered and when several people ordered the same thing, it came on one plate -1. Prices are fair at lunchtime, a bit expensive in the evening. Overall, it's good and worth the experience.

Great restaurant. We were there at lunchtime so there was relatively little going on ~ 15 tables occupied. The all-you-can-eat offer is good but unfortunately not very good. We love Watami, the food is really good quality and the selection is huge! The staff is always very friendly and tries to fulfill all wishes. Yesterday we were there with the baby for the first time. We got a great table with plenty of space for the stroller. It just doesn't get any better!

First of all. Maybe you should have fewer tables reserved and e.g. Leave 1/3 free. So that the service keeps up. It is not acceptable if you only have 2 hours to wait forever for food, get the wrong plates or not get some things at all. After all, the meal for 2 hours costs €35. The ambience is nice. Staff tried hard, but were completely overwhelmed at the weekend. It's a different and good concept to the classic buffet but there's still room for improvement. Drinks ok.

Unfortunately we cannot confirm the good reviews. The restaurant is nicely decorated. ------- Price-wise it is very expensive for the mediocre quality. You can get much better sushi there for a much cheaper price I doubt whether everything is so freshly prepared -- mussels were like rubber and I had to spit them out!!! Inedible!!! Some of the wrong plates were brought to the table that we had not ordered, but things that we had ordered were not delivered Two people almost 100€ is extremely overpriced for this mediocre quality. We recently went to Watami for an all you can eat lunchtime meal. The atmosphere and the service were generally nice. Unfortunately, we imagined the whole thing differently. When it comes to a sushi restaurant, we assumed that there would be a more extensive selection of different types of sushi. However, unfortunately that was not the case at all. A few inside out creations, nigiri, maki but really nothing spectacular. No tempura sushi or anything special... the rest to choose from was also very limited, a few small dishes but these weren't really good either. In addition, you can only order 5 different things every 10 minutes - often things were actually forgotten. But if you can only choose 1-2 sushi per item, that's just stupid and of course you'll feel full more quickly. In any case, the whole thing isn't worth €21 or even €35 in the evening - and all drinks are extra , at this price you would expect these to be included... But what was worst and most fatal: something about the food wasn't good/bad, because I was hanging over the bowl all night and everything came out again... not a nice feeling. After eating I noticed that something was wrong. It's a real shame because we drove an extra hour to try out all-you-can-eat sushi. But we'd rather stick to conventional sushi restaurants and order what we want on a platter 🫠

An unusual concept that works perfectly thanks to great and friendly service. We all found the food very tasty and of very good quality. The advantage of this concept is that you have the opportunity to try different things that you wouldn't otherwise. wouldn't order.

After a year and several visits I have to revise my rating again. I now have to correct myself from 5 stars to 3 stars. The food itself is still fantastic. Unfortunately, however, the service has deteriorated somewhat. Instead of 5 minutes for 5 dishes as before, it is now 10 minutes for 5 dishes, even if the restaurant is not full. What's most annoying, however, is that the ordered dishes arrive with an unbelievable delay; some orders come that were placed in the previous order run. Likewise, everything is delivered on a plate. If several guests order the same thing, e.g. mini spring rolls or sushi, everything is brought on one plate, although it would be much better to give everyone their own bowl/plate with the ordered products, even if this means more washing effort. The all-you-can-eat price was also constantly increased. Recently the old prices were still on the website and in the restaurant they were increased again by €1. As great as the ordering concept with the iPad is, I don't like this huge price increase at all. There are also no new items on the menu. I still like the concept that uneaten orders are subject to a penalty fee. This means you only order what you eat. I can't say whether it's still a clear recommendation. You should definitely have done it.

An Asian 'all you can eat' restaurant. The furnishings make you feel comfortable, the location is quite good. The prices are actually a bit expensive, but you get very tasty and well-prepared food and a lot of choice. I can highly recommend Watami.

All you can eat... Sushi ok, meat ok... Food in general was good. Restaurant wasn't full, service was quick and friendly. All you can eat system works well, new course can be ordered after 5 minutes. It was a bit annoying that with two people, partial orders came on a shared plate and you had to sort out who ordered what. (Not always entirely clear with sushi) ;-)

It takes a short moment to get used to the 5 minute rhythm of ordering, the concept is great and efficient. All dishes appear to be freshly prepared and were without exception of high quality. One suggestion for improvement, however, is to add a chop or something similar to the food already delivered on the tablet, which did lead to one or two surprises. It was a successful evening, also for the children, thank you!

Unfortunately, the quality has deteriorated somewhat, as we discovered during the last few visits. Fillet cubes tough and less salmon on salad and a lot more. Still worth a visit though. Great concept. Not new but well implemented. Order all you can eat with your iPad. Orders work well and after a very short time. Quality very good. Local on two floors. Visually, the restaurant is well furnished. Ordering drinks can also be done via iPad. Service was very friendly. Will happily go there again. Negotiate parking spaces on site.

It was very good, you should be patient (not because of the time it takes to prepare it) but since you can order in intervals, it can easily happen that you overeat. Meat, sushi and seafood were always perfectly prepared and tasted of good quality.

I've never seen or tasted anything like it (at least I have)!🤌🏻😍 My friend and I came across Watami by chance when we were hungry after work and were very impressed by the pick-up-only service! Staff very attentive and more than friendly. We ordered something to take away on site and were served very attentively, be it regarding the dishes, the other options such as the All You Can Eat etc. and we were brought something to drink while we waited without being asked or asked! That's what I call hospitality 1000%!! We have absolutely no complaints about the waiting time, it was a maximum of 10 minutes, but it felt like a maximum of 5! So in a nutshell: All in all more than perfect for the first pickup visit!!!

We have been guests at this restaurant for years and were looking forward to a pleasant evening, but this visit proved us wrong. It was definitely the last visit here. This time we visited the restaurant with a group of 5 people. The service was so overwhelmed with the first round of orders from the all you can eat offer that only half of the dishes were served - despite the low number of visitors up to that point. The longer the evening dragged on, the worse it got. Some of the beef was so raw that we let it go back. No new plate was brought, just ignored. The roast beef was even worse. Any more raw and the cow could have been put back out on pasture. The sushi that we used to enjoy eating here because the quality was worth the price is unfortunately no longer available for a long time. It consists only of a lump of rice in which a fish-like consistency or wilted lettuce has been wrapped. Sometimes dishes were presented to us that we hadn't even ordered, and so the taste of the evening was full of unseasoned, unloving nothing. At some point around 7:45 p.m. the “boss” came to our table and said we had to pay and leave. The tablet was taken from the table and they literally tried to force us out. Since the children were still eating and a number of dishes had not yet been served, we politely asked that the missing dishes be served to us so that we would then leave. Reluctantly, the food was then served hectically, but - and that's no joke! - in the form of flying plates and glasses. The outrageous and disgusting manner shown by this restaurant manager is outrageous and an absolute no go! Of course we didn't put up with that and when this so-called "boss" was made aware of his unacceptable behavior by his colleagues, ideser actually wanted to - still not kidding! - attack us and throw us out of the restaurant. Since we had children with us, we - still - calmly and patiently headed towards the exit, past the boss who was still jumping around raging. His wife walked us out the door and apologized several times for her husband's behavior. He suddenly came rushing through the door out of nowhere and became violent towards his wife and pushed her in the door several times. He just loudly expelled us from the building, which of course we didn't put up with and made it clear to him - still in a calm tone. When his wife repeatedly came out to calm the situation, he grabbed her arm again and pushed her back into the restaurant. We're really at a loss for words here. We have never experienced anything like this before, and this man, this restaurant manager, does not belong in a restaurant but in a therapy center! Conclusion: From the food, to the service, to the entire behavior of the "restaurant manager", we advise everyone not to visit this restaurant. The almost €200 for this evening could have been spent more sensibly anywhere else than here. Never again..

We had all you can eat. Was there for the first time. Nobody can eat that much. We had sushi, salad, meat, noodles, fish, ice cream. Everything was prepared very quickly and tasted delicious. Next time I would only order one dish. The menu was too much for me personally.

A really successful all you can eat concept. We enjoyed it very much. The food was delicious, but some dishes were overcooked and a lot of salt was used. The atmosphere is very pleasant and nicely decorated. Unfortunately the chairs were already very worn out, sagging and we found the chairs to be too low. It was also very loud at times. We really liked the concept of ordering with the iPad and it went smoothly. The service was very attentive and friendly. There are a few little things that could be improved, but all in all it was well done and the food was good.

As always, it was great! The running sushi is definitely worth its price, the quality is more than satisfactory! Sure, some things arrive at the table late, but there is always a touch of surprise about who the noodles from round 3, delivered in round 7, now belong to. Ambiance is also very nice.

The best thing here is the ambience and ordering via tablet. Food itself is good, but probably little different to other Asian restaurants with buffets. The miso is great!!! We're always happy to come back!

I have to say, I wasn't thrilled at first when they said a tablet would replace the staff. But I looked at it, really well done. You can try a bit of everything, no more overloaded plates. Nothing is thrown away. Anyone who seems to leave too much lying around has to pay and the money is donated to the food bank. What else can be improved please, simply great. In terms of appearance, well, I thought it was great, nothing special in principle, which isn't necessarily relevant. I would definitely go again just because of the food and concept.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Very tasty food and great service!

Unfortunately, quality has declined in recent years - but the price has risen. The concept is great, the waiters are always quick to follow up. Unfortunately, I finally had a half-frozen gyoza. I also have the impression that the quality of the food is worse than before. It's still an experience to try out a variety of small snacks there. Highly recommended is the sesame ice cream with sesame balls for dessert.

We were there at lunchtime. It was quite busy, despite it being Wednesday. The food was very tasty and almost everything was prepared very quickly. Ordering via iPad worked without any problems. The pictures don't always quite correspond to the food that comes. Both in appearance and in quantity. You have to try it out before you order too much.

Update after 4 years: Still tasty and good ambience - but the price per person of just under €35 is very expensive, and the selection in the evening Allyoucaneat has also been noticeably reduced, which is a shame. Ambiance: The restaurant is very chic and modern. There are places to sit both on the ground floor and upstairs - I prefer the atmosphere downstairs on the ground floor. The toilets were clean, the cutlery, the tables and the chairs were also tidy. The tables are a comfortable distance apart so you don't feel cramped. Recommendation: reserve! And if you don't come directly at opening time, then even more so. You don't necessarily need to make a reservation for lunch during the week (except on public holidays). For the all-you-can-eat option, we recommend coming early, as the food is ordered staggered via the iPad system and the kitchen closes 30 minutes before closing time. Food: My absolute favorite at AYCE: tofu pocket nigiri and the ice cream (black sesame ice cream and matcha ice cream) are a dream 😍. The quality of the food is really high, especially when you compare it to common AYCE restaurants. Almost everything I ate seemed and tasted very fresh. The selection on the AYCE menu is also very satisfying, the portions are small - which I think is great because you can then try everything and afterwards (hopefully) you don't have to throw anything away because you "took too much of something". The food is ordered via the tablet and brought to the table - something was rarely forgotten, but that's not a bad thing at all. It happens, I work as a waiter myself and know the stress when there's a lot going on and many people order at once. Of course it should rarely happen. The food always arrived "quickly" - after a few minutes the first plates we ordered arrived. The prices are also really reasonable - so great value for money! The empty plates were always cleared quickly and attentively - so far I have had no complaints about the food 👍🏼 The lunchtime AYCE menu includes nigiris, makis, temakis, inside out rolls, Japanese salads, skewers, fried things, mochis , ice cream and and and Beverages: You can also order the drinks via the tablet, which always arrived relatively quickly. A 0.4l Spezi cost around €3.30? (If I remember correctly). There are alcoholic drinks, juices, beers and Japanese beers to choose from - you'll definitely find what you're looking for 😬 Service: I found the employees to be friendly and quick. I have nothing to complain about here either. Wishes are accepted and implemented. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait 30 minutes in front of the entrance. Drinks or similar were not offered during this time. No apologies were made when seated at the table. It's possible that you have to wait a few minutes and that's understandable, but half an hour is annoying. Ordering via tablet didn't always work perfectly either: dishes ordered from round 1 sometimes only arrived in round 4. Because we were no longer expecting it, there were double orders. At around 9:45 p.m. we were informed that the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. and that we should order the last round. However, half an hour of our planned time was already spent just waiting. Food was okay, price/performance not justified. All in one: then prefer the classic a'la carte.

We have been visiting Watami more often for the past two years because the food here is all very freshly prepared and of high quality. Compared to a normal "all-you-can-eat" buffet, the Watami stands out not because of the quantity, but rather the quality. Parking has never been a problem as there are always enough spaces in Hery Park, free of charge! We've always been there on weekend evenings, usually right after it opens at 5:30 or 6 p.m., otherwise the food stays in my stomach all night if you go later. You are always greeted very politely and assigned to a specific table. If you are not yet familiar with the system, you can use the tablet to learn how it works. I think this type of "all-you-can-eat" is very good, not because it saves you having to get up, but because everyone doesn't pick around, cough or reach into food that is lying around. Since we are always one of the first guests of the evening, the first dishes arrive really quickly within a few minutes. As described above, these are all of very high quality and really very good. I don't want to go into individual positions because I don't think anything is bad or particularly good, but I'm very happy with everything. I cannot confirm that the empty dishes remain in place for hours, as some reviews claim. But what you notice is that the later the evening gets and the more guests come, the waiters can't keep up. For us there were 2 pieces for the upper floor, but this is not enough at peak times from 8 p.m. You have to distribute the fresh food to all the tables, take away the empty dishes and serve drinks at the same time. This is not a criticism, but one more service staff would probably be better for everyone, on the one hand it would be a relief for the really hard-working waiters and on the other hand the tables would be cleared more quickly even at a late hour. Since there are always only small portions, a pile of empty dishes quickly arises, especially if you are there with more than 2 people. The price for the evening buffet has now risen to 34.90 euros. This isn't cheap, especially since you have to pay extra for drinks, but the food is definitely worth it. But you should do at least 4-5 rounds of ordering to make it worth it. This time we were on a Sunday, you can sit here for a little longer than 2 hours and have 1-2 drinks. On a Friday or Saturday, after 120 minutes you will be politely informed that the time is over and you should pay. This is also noted on the homepage, that on these two days the time is limited to 2 hours. I can understand it, as the restaurant is always very busy, but as a customer who is perhaps still waiting for the food they ordered or hasn't finished drinking yet, this is rather unpleasant. I really only have good things to say about it and will eat there again in the future. However, I still have one small point of criticism, even if it can't be completely ruled out. Some dishes are probably not prepared straight away when there is more going on, but only when 1-2 more tables want the same thing. It happened to me that I only received the chicken I ordered after 40 minutes. I assumed that they had forgotten it and moved on to dessert. I found this to be very inconvenient because after the "sweet conclusion" I didn't really want a main course anymore. Since I didn't want to let it go back, I just ate it. But these are really exceptions, otherwise it always arrives within 5-10 minutes. I give it a full 5 stars because I am very happy with the restaurant and can only recommend it to everyone.

Ordering process is a farce. But food is good.

My beans didn't come after ordering 3rd time and waiting over an hour. The waiter body-shamed me and said I wasn't allowed to eat.

Really good sushi but unfortunately the selection at all-you-can-eat is getting smaller and smaller. But taste-wise, absolutely recommended!

Nice decor and atmosphere. Food was really good quality. Service was really fast and liked the touch pad ordering device. Will definitely return. Recommended for those who love Sushi 🍣
