The idea of ​​enjoying a high tea led us to the moated castle. Unfortunately only one table in the unheated lower area was set. The scones were no longer fresh and were a bit hard to the bite. The service was somewhat robust, but not intrusive. Unfortunately not a recommendation.

We had reserved a table at 1 p.m. would have worked too, but unfortunately there are no disabled parking spaces on site... only residents' parking spaces. Too bad, we had to drive home again. no parking space available. not even in front of the restaurant. Location of the castle...very nice.

We celebrated our Christmas party here. The restaurant combines old and new, a nice place to celebrate! We had pre-ordered the food to make it easier and quicker for everyone! Pan fish, ox cheeks, goat cheese, Thai coconut soup, winter leaf salad, potato and pumpkin seed röstis and tea crème brulee were very well received by colleagues. The service was very nice and accommodating. Our glasses were always filled and even though it was the end of the day, we were able to celebrate even longer! Thank you, thank you, thank you

Definitely reserve in advance! Unfortunately we didn't get a table but the shop next door was sweet. There were a lot of (flavored) teas to try. The service there is top!

Unusual restaurant with history, we were warmly welcomed, drinks were very good, small, fine menu. Great service, everyone was friendly, helpful and in a good mood, despite being quite stressed because of the Christmas parties. So far I've only ever been there outside in the summer, but this visit was very worth it. Highly recommended!

Of course we could have brought something ourselves, but we thought they would make this special occasion a little warmer for us. Puppy cake! Shortly before arrival I got a call - during our visit to the musical - that unfortunately we wouldn't have to sit upstairs, as promised in the contract, but somewhere else. Ok, no problem, I thought. But puff cake again! We were placed in a large, empty, cold, uncomfortable room right at the entrance, where it was so cold that my 80-year-old mother had to sit in her thick winter jacket the entire evening. A good host would have noticed this and found a solution. But ok, maybe I just have too high expectations. The food was very good. In any case, I can't complain. It would have been nice to serve my mother the venison goulash for the special occasion, but unfortunately this was rejected too, so she had to fight off her arthritis with a ponderous leg of goose instead. In any case, my mother was absolutely disappointed with the birthday dinner and broke my heart because I had made a lot of effort to give her a nice birthday evening. Too bad! But of course I can't change that afterwards. Next time I'll celebrate somewhere else. But still thanks for everything else, which was ok. Overall, not recommended if you are planning something special!!!👎🏻

As before, the tea shop is very well stocked and worth a visit. Unfortunately the restaurant is very run down. Very disappointing! We've been coming here for years, but it's just not possible. The interior was totally run down, wicker chairs with holes in them, broken dishes. It seems as if they want to make a quick buck and not invest more, which is also noticeable in the staff. The food wasn't bad, but it was way overpriced. Unfortunately that was our last visit.

Great, traditional place to eat with good cuisine. Especially since there are only a few tables on the upper floor and it is therefore very quiet and relaxed, for example if you are traveling with a group.

Muy acogedor pequeño lugar donde nos sentamos cerca de la entrada de la cocina y pedimos bebidas y comida. Mientras tanto, un hombre grande con el pelo largo tirado hacia atrás en una cola de caballo y una actitud muy extraña estaba vagando por el restaurante. Después de recibir nuestra orden este hombre se sentó en nuestra mesa frente a mi novia. Traté tranquilamente de entender lo que quería mirándolo. Este hombre estaba borracho y mientras hablaba se veía saliva saliendo de su boca y empezó a mirar fijamente a mi novia mientras hablaba con ella. En un momento dado la camarera lo interrumpió, intentando levantarlo y marcharse. Él la ignora y continúa hablando con mi novia y conmigo. Y la camarera y uno de sus colegas, después de varios minutos e intentos, lo hacen levantarse de una manera ‘demasiado’ amigable y sacarlo. Preguntamos quién era el hombre y nos dicen que era el dueño/gerente del club. Nos molestamos al intentar superar lo que había pasado, cuando en algún momento el hombre regresa a nuestra mesa y se sienta de nuevo en el mismo lugar con esa actitud borracha, casi peligrosa. De nuevo los dos camareros después de minutos lo sacan para siempre. Unos minutos después pagamos y nos fuimos en shock. En todo esto recibimos (solo) una disculpa de la camarera que estaba avergonzada por lo que había pasado. Me pregunto cómo una persona así puede ser el propietario / gerente de un lugar histórico como Wasserschloss Speicherstadt. Este incidente no es tolerable. Porque un cliente acude a un club como este para relajarse y disfrutar de su tiempo libre con su familia, pero no puede sentirse en peligro o incómodo frente a estos eventos especialmente cuando se trata del propietario/gerente/empleado de la casa. Mi novia y yo estamos realmente decepcionados e indignados por este incidente y espero que se tomen medidas serias contra esta persona por el bien de la clientela y la reputación del lugar. Sería lo mínimo que esta persona se disculpara personalmente después de la ridícula impresión que causó en sus clientes.

Unfortunately, there were also some points that we didn't like: - Unfortunately, service was not good in large parts, for example after the warm scrambled eggs were brought, it took at least 5 minutes and a reminder for them to be brought. - Unfortunately the wrong tea was brought and they said they had ordered the wrong one. According to the map on the internet and the number in the tea shop, this was correct. Mistakes can happen, but how you deal with them is crucial. - In the meantime, no one asked if you would like something else to drink - Overall, the long wait continued until the payment at the end, here too I had to be reminded again after 10 minutes and then the colleague was simply referred to, which is unfortunately unprofessional.

My friends and I went here last night, and let me tell you, the Labkaus and Three Fish Special was chef’s kiss phenomenal. The atmosphere is also very nice and cozy. Geis, our waiter, was an absolute gem. Very attentive and acommodating. Then… there was the owner/manager. At first we thought  he was just a "fun-loving" guy who really enjoyed mingling with his patrons, though very loudly on the patio. But it didn’t take long to realize he wasn’t just full of life—he was full of Jägermeister. He staggered through the restaurant, almost falling down the stairs and it was almost awkward watching Geis trying to "control" him and usher him out to go home. In short: amazing food, impeccable service, and a very, VERY drunk owner who gave us a night we will remember. 10/10 would come back—but maybe we’ll suggest a water break for the manager/owner next time.

A beautiful, romantic restaurant in the middle of the Speicherstadt. It is cozy and the service is courteous and helpful. The memory card is manageable, but does justice to the ambience. I can only recommend it.

A great place to take a short break with a delicious tea

After I asked, the waiter refused to wipe the table, even though the previous person's table was not only wet but also covered in sugar. When asked if they had black tea, they sarcastically replied that 65 types were available without bringing the tea menu or suggesting certain types. We felt subtly ripped off. In addition, he cannot explain what rooibos tea is or the response to this question is only condescending. Absolutely customer unfriendly. Otherwise nice atmosphere and delicious tea!

Cool setting, very good food and good price

The cheesecake and plum cake with an espresso machiato was a pleasure here in the Speicherstadt at the tip of the island in the wonderful sun. The service cannot be surpassed in terms of friendliness. This will always be a fond memory for us and motivates us to repeat it.

The Wasserschloss is a nice little restaurant in the Speicherstadt. The food is expensive, but the price-performance ratio is right! It is beautifully prepared and super tasty. Very tasty and inexpensive breakfast, friendly and professional service and a great terrace by the water. There are some spiders around (because Speicherstadt), but that was only a problem for me :)

I've never experienced anything like this, you stand at the counter and want to ask for a table and you're not seen. The service is the worst I've experienced. At least there wasn't one, I'll take care of you right away. The prices are absurdly more expensive for currywurst fries at €15.90 now. Even if Daniel Wischer is behind it, it's really expensive.

We were there with a larger group. Food is top and was served to the point. However, it could be described as slightly overpriced. Service depends on the waiter/waitress. But overall good. The Büsum crab soup is highly recommended as a starter. The baguette, which is served free of charge with herb butter in advance, could be tastier and should be cut completely in half (not just 3/4).

I really recommend the Sonnetee it is top notch👍🏻also it’s a great place to see the water and have a good time. Moreover the outside seating is amazing because you can have lots of natural light and see the water at the same time! The breakfast was also fantastic. We shared 4 watt for twos for 10 people but could have shared 3 of those.

Had dinner here and LOVED the vibe. Service was warm and welcoming and the food was good - menu is a bit limited but the burrata was delicious and the yogurt panna cotta with strawberries was very good. It was a bit rainy so I couldn't sit outside. I imagine on a sunny day, dining outdoors would be sublime.

Went there for dinner and first impressions were pretty good. Great historic building in the middle of the Speicherstadt. Unfortunately, the waiter was the best guest at the bar. We stayed here on the recommendation of Captain Klaus (Captain Prüsse). A paradise for tea drinkers. The selection of cakes was also good and there was something for everyone. Draußen hinten sitzt man sehr schön. Drinnen ist es eher klein aber schick eingerichtet. Bei unserem Besuch war nicht viel los - daher keine lange Wartezeit. Freundliche Bedienung und super Service. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Man muss wissen, dass es in der Regel (außer wenn Saisonkarten vorhanden) nur ca. 5 Hauptgerichte gibt + Vorspeisen. Aber wie gesagt, es war lecker.

Don't go for the High Tea, it's a tourist trap. The dishes are extremely overpriced and of low quality as compared to other local coffee shops. The staff didn't appear to know anything about tea and even refilling the tea pot with hot water costs 3 Euros. Definitely not recommended to eat there at all. The location is quite beautiful, but it'll cost you.

3/4 of the restaurant was empty in the afternoon, lots of small tables that would invite you to enjoy a nice coffee. When we said that we would like to have a coffee, we were simply told: "There is no coffee here, please go somewhere else!" - Conclusion: No coffee & unfriendly, no stars. It's nice that there are really great alternatives nearby. So as a tip, don't waste your time stopping by here :)

We have come to the moated castle again and again over the last few years. Mostly for breakfast, as well as for a special event on New Year's Eve. For us it is part of every visit to Hamburg. We are all the more disappointed that the service decreases from time to time. When you arrive at 10 a.m., wait in line to get in - by reservation only. The lady in service literally radiated the bad mood. The colleague seemed calm. Both service staff seemed uncoordinated. With a reservation for breakfast on Sunday, it took an incredible 50 minutes from ordering to receiving the food (Water for two). The service staff seemed hectic and uncoordinated. Although there was enough to do, the service staff were informed by the person in charge next to the guests about what was going to happen during the day. The coffee I ordered was served across the table from the left and my fork, which was lying on the plate, was touched so that it fell over the edge of the plate. The breakfast itself was again very good. The ambience is fantastically beautiful. Dear team at the Wasserschloss Hamburg, there is strength in peace. You can do it better. This time the visit was disappointing.

Hier kann nur der unterirdische Service beurteilt werden. Es war wenig los und ausreichend Servicepersonal vor Ort. Diese zogen es jedoch vor sich zu unterhalten. Weder wurden die Tische abgeräumt, noch die Gäste bedient. Nach ca 20 Minuten verließ uns die Geduld und wir diesen Ort. Schade

We celebrated our dream wedding in the moated castle on May 10th, 2024 and don't regret choosing this exact location less than two years ago. Jonas and his team were simply WONDERFUL <3 Planning the wedding was totally uncomplicated and during the reception on the beautiful terrace, the wedding ceremony and the celebration afterwards, the entire team gave us the feeling that they wanted to fulfill our every wish. The food was delicious and it was no problem at all to have gimmicks such as a cocktail robot and a photo booth set up for the guests. A very, very big THANK YOU to the entire Wasserschloss team - thanks to you, Florian and I will never forget our wedding and we are already looking forward to celebrating our future wedding anniversaries with a delicious meal with you ;)
