We were rudely and listlessly turned away. The place was empty, and we would have liked a cup of coffee. It seemed as if it wasn't necessary; the people who came in after us, also three people without reservations, came in. If you don't want to go, you can have one. We found a very good alternative, which we can also recommend. I recommend moving on right away.

The tea shop is certainly delightful, and the sales staff there are friendly and courteous... however, we primarily wanted to quench our thirst in the chic ambiance... the apparently only service employee on duty was extremely unfriendly... we told him we'd like to sit outside for a quick glass of wine... there were plenty of free seats outside... we certainly wouldn't stay longer than half an hour... our request was brusquely rejected, with the instruction to sit inside... he would then come right over and take our order... we then sat in the drafty passageway and waited... and waited and waited... while we watched how coolly the waitress served the few customers... he just didn't come over to take our order... after a good quarter of an hour, we ignored the restaurant and left disappointed... we certainly won't be coming back.

We, two adults, were very satisfied with the food and the ambiance. The wine could have been even better.

When we visit Hamburg, we regularly go to the Wasserschloss, especially because of the large selection of teas in the shop. We also went to the restaurant for afternoon tea and cake. Unfortunately, the organization there was rather chaotic and uninviting.

It might be the worst Aperol Spritz I've ever had. It had a completely different color and taste.

Anyone who enjoys watching Pfefferkörner should definitely stop by. The staircase is no longer the one from the series, but it's still standing, and the tea shop looks fantastic and smells wonderful. :-) I didn't eat there. I just wanted a cup of tea, but I was a bit late. Instead, the friendly gentleman told me I was welcome to take a few photos outside (at the fork in the canal) and that I didn't necessarily have to drink tea. I gladly accepted and would like to thank him again for this kind service. Five stars for the service and the atmosphere.

Speicherstadt (1883–1927), 26 hectares, L ≈ 1.5 km, B = from 150 to 250 m, brick neo-Gothic, pile foundation, 12-meter oak tree trunks — the world's largest historical warehouse complex, built on the former Elbe islands. Crossed by 6 canals, has 20 bridges. The warehouses were used to store coffee (South and Central America), palm oil, cocoa beans, oriental carpets and other colonial goods. Wasserschloss (1905–1907) — the most famous monument of the complex. Sandtorquaihof — view of the oldest part, 2nd and 3rd construction sites.

Wenn das Wetter in Hamburg mitspielt, kann man sehr schön auf der Terrasse, direkt am Fleet in der Speicherstadt sitzen. Wir haben uns sonntags ein Frühstück gegönnt, das sehr ansprechend auf einer Etagere serviert wurde. Dazu gab es noch Rührei mit Speck, auch schön gemacht. Muss man wetterbedingt innen Platz nehmen, ist es eher etwas düster. Daher 1 Punkt Abzug. Preislich ist alles angemessen, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Hello! Hamburg's only true tea salon with a great breakfast and a fantastic evening menu. Highly recommended: 5 o'clock tea with a tiered tray full of delicacies. The perfect accompaniment is the Hamburg Sunday tea. A must on any trip to Hamburg. 🙂 Pro tip: Always make a reservation in advance!

Rustic location that unfortunately doesn't open for breakfast until 10 a.m. We had to wait 45 minutes for our order. So, this was more of a late-night snack. The selection was limited. Prices were reasonable.

No, the food was bad. We ordered three kinds of fish. The fish was dry, had been in the pan for far too long, and was not seasoned. The side dish was fried potatoes, which were greasy and had far too much fat on the plate. They also served cucumber salad. I've never eaten such a bad cucumber salad. It was indistinguishably dressed and had no flavor.

I only saw this beautiful building from the outside, as I was here early in the morning. It's beautifully situated in the Speicherstadt.

BUT: We sat outside and wanted to eat something, but the slightly dated, somewhat dingy furniture caught our attention. We were given the menu quite quickly and then skillfully ignored, even though it wasn't busy... no words... Apparently, you don't have to be hospitable in a place like this. A real shame!

An excellent place that I loved visiting during my trip to Hamburg. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was great, and the coffee selection was varied. I had the opportunity to try the various typical local cakes, which I loved. The prices are very good. The experience was fantastic; I really enjoyed going there for breakfast on two occasions.

Unfortunately, you can't rely on the opening hours on Google Maps because the office is unable to indicate a private event. So, unfortunately, the trip was in vain.

Für uns war der Besuch leider enttäuschend. Wir hatten uns für das angepriesene High Tea angemeldet. Von Gemütlichkeit oder gar Klasse keine Spur. Wir wurden beim Eingang platziert, wo wir die ganze Zeit von lauter Disco-Musik beschallt wurden. Gleich nebenan hat man das Geschirr gestapelt... Es war Kneipenfeeling mit etwas Hüttengaudi. Schade, wirklich, weil das Teatime-Angebot eigentlich lecker war.

Ich hatte einen Gutschein per whatsapp von Freunden erhalten. (Der Gutschein wurde den Freunden vom "Wasserschloss auch per WhatsApp zugesendet.) Als ich den Gutschein nach einem sehr schmackhaften Essen einlösen wollte, wurde er nicht akzeptiert, mit der Begründung er würde nur in Papierform angenommen. Wie sollte das möglich sein da er doch vom Wasserschloss digital zugesendet wurde? Als Entschädigung wäre ein kleines Geschenk z. B. Päckchen Tee eine nette Geste gewesen.

Beautiful building in a perfect location that not only contains a well-stocked tea shop but also a nice restaurant. We recommend the very nice Hightea. Service is nice, prices are right.

We celebrated our wedding here with around 70 people. It might be a bit tight upstairs, but a smaller number of guests would make it more relaxed. The 4th course menu was very tasty. The location over two floors with the different areas makes it a beautiful location. We felt very comfortable. Please pay attention to the opening hours of the tea office, as you have to pass through it during the event.

It used to be a charming place for a coffee, tea or chocolate. Today you have your coffee ready after the first few seconds of contact with the “service staff”. Better to stop somewhere else!

The two of us had breakfast in the moated castle on Saturday. We had breakfast for two with scrambled eggs, salmon, cold cuts, jam etc. and fruit salad. Coffee and tea were good. The scrambled eggs were fresh, plentiful and very well prepared. The rolls were also very tasty and nice and crispy. The cold cuts were the usual and probably from a package. The tomato and cucumber decoration was no longer as fresh as the fruit salad. Price-wise it was ok. The service was very nice and also fulfilled an extra request.

Wir hatten telefonisch einen Tisch reserviert, war leider nicht bekannt. Es gab auch keine Entschuldigung. Wir bekamen dann den kleinen Tisch direkt am Ausgang, wo es trotz Heizung ziemlich kalt war. Das Essen war geschmacklich gut. Der Service war zwar freundlich, war aber komplett in Alltagskleidung unterwegs. Das habe ich in so einem Restaurant noch nie erlebt. Unbedingt vorher schon mal die Rechnung überschlagen. Irgendwie passt hier das Erscheinungsbild des Restaurants nicht zum Service und Angebot. Hier hatten wir mehr erwartet. Ein Restaurantbesuch lebt vom Service, Wohlfühlen und Willkommen sein gehört für uns dazu. Das hat uns hier gefehlt.

Six of us went to the moated castle for high tea. Neither the food nor the service came close to the high level that the prices suggest. Despite asking, we waited an easy 1.5 hours for our food; other guests came, ate and left while nothing happened on our table. Our tea was empty when we finally started. A tiny pot of (cold) milk for tea came after asking three times, yay! Despite all of this, both waitresses were ignorant and even unfriendly. In the meantime they informed us that an alarm was now being tested and that we should just ignore it... Why would you do something like that at the best time on a Sunday afternoon?? How anyone can charge 30 euros for high tea is a mystery to me. The "clotted cream" was salty and smelled of margarine, very few things would have been believed to be homemade. In terms of quantity, we ordered a piece of cheesecake (5 EUR) afterwards because we were still hungry at the end. Even the cake stand looked cheap and bent. The tea leaves for 10 euros were served in a metal sieve that hung far too high in the pot when inserted, so that the tea leaves themselves were not completely in the water... All in all, a completely disappointing visit for a lot of money, we will definitely not be coming back!

The food was without exception delicious: foam soup with chestnut and pear (cappuccino), goat cheese gratinated, pan fish, the fish was cooked perfectly and Labskaus was also really good. Overall it was draughty where we sat and was a bit fresh. The service was friendly, but could have been much more attentive.

I was here at tea time. The self-selected tea and the specified British specialties were delicious. The second scone was a bit hard. They shouldn't be eaten last. The price was not cheap at 29.50 euros. The room seems a bit cold and uncomfortable due to the high ceiling and the cobblestone floor. In summer with the doors open or even on the terrace it's definitely a nice location.

Wir waren zum Silvestermenu im Wasserschloss. Als wir um eine Getränkekarte baten, sagte der Kellner, er würde uns eine Karte bringen. Allerdings kam er ohne Karte zurück. An Getränken zählte er dann verschiedene Wein- und Biersorten auf. Als wir dann auf dem nach Hauseweg in der U-Bahn die Getränkerechnung (die Menürechnung für das Silvestermenü musste im Voraus bezahlt werden) anschauten, stellten wir fest, dass als Service ein Betrag in Höhe von € 6,-- in der Rechnung aufgeführt wurde (Gesambetrag Getränke war € 24,-- plus € 6 = € 30). Allerdings war dieser Betrag nur winzig klein und nur mit 6 ohne Euro-Hinweis auf dem Beleg oberhalb der einzelnen Getränkepreise angedruckt. Über diesen Servicebetrag wurden wir beim Bezahlen nicht informiert. Insofern haben wir dann auch nochmals auf den Belegebtrag inkl. dem angedruckten Servicebetrag ein Trinkgeld gegeben. Wir waren sehr irritiert über dieses sehr ungewöhnliche Vorgehen und haben den Geschäftsführer des Wasserschloss angeschrieben und um Aufklärung gebeten. Wir erhielten die Antwort, dass dem Service ein Fehler unterlaufen sei und man vielmals um Entschuldigung bitte. Den Servicebetrag werde man uns natürlich zurück überweisen.

We celebrated our Christmas party here. The restaurant combines old and new, a nice place to celebrate! We had pre-ordered the food to make it easier and quicker for everyone! Pan fish, ox cheeks, goat cheese, Thai coconut soup, winter leaf salad, potato and pumpkin seed röstis and tea crème brulee were very well received by colleagues. Of course we could have brought something ourselves, but we thought they would make this special occasion a little warmer for us. Puppy cake! Shortly before arrival I got a call - during our visit to the musical - that unfortunately we wouldn't have to sit upstairs, as promised in the contract, but somewhere else. Ok, no problem, I thought. But puff cake again! We were placed in a large, empty, cold, uncomfortable room right at the entrance, where it was so cold that my 80-year-old mother had to sit in her thick winter jacket the entire evening. A good host would have noticed this and found a solution. But ok, maybe I just have too high expectations. The food was very good. In any case, I can't complain. It would have been nice to serve my mother the venison goulash for the special occasion, but unfortunately this was rejected too, so she had to fight off her arthritis with a ponderous leg of goose instead. In any case, my mother was absolutely disappointed with the birthday dinner and broke my heart because I had made a lot of effort to give her a nice birthday evening. Too bad! But of course I can't change that afterwards. Next time I'll celebrate somewhere else. But still thanks for everything else, which was ok. Aber leider wurden wir nicht, wie versprochen und bereits lange im vorab angekündigt, wegen Personalmangels, oben im schönen Bereich des Restaurants platziert, sondern unten direkt am Eingang. Wir haben Wochen im voraus unseren besonderen Anlass angekündigt und wurden ärgstens enttäuscht. Meine Mutter feierte wie angekündigt ihren 80. Geburtstag im Wasserschloss und es war nichts an besonderer Deko oder sonstigem vorhanden. Wir hätten natürlich selbst etwas mitbringen können, aber wir dachten, sie würden diesen besonderen Anlass für uns etwas herzlich gestalten. Pustekuchen! Kurz vor Ankunft bekam ich einen Anruf - während unseres Musicalbesuchs - dass wir leider nicht oben, wie im Vertrag zugesagt, sondern woanders sitzen müssten. Ok, kein Problem, dachte ich. Aber wieder Pustekuchen! Wir wurden in einem leeren großen, kalten ungemütlichem Raum direkt am Eingang platziert wo es so kalt war, dass meine 80jährige Mutter den gesamten Abend in ihre Winterjacke sitzen musste. Einem guten Gastgeber wäre dies aufgefallen und er hätte eine Lösung gefunden. Aber ok, dafür war das Essen sehr gut. Da kann ich mich jedenfalls nicht beklagen. Es wäre schön gewesen meiner Mutter zu dem besonderen Anlass das Hirschgulasch zu servieren, aber auch dies wurde leider abgelehnt. Sodass sie sich mit ihrer Arthritis mit einer schwerfälligen Gänsekeule abkämpfen musste. Meine Mutter war jedenfalls von dem Geburtstagsessen absolut enttäuscht und mir damit das Herz gebrochen, weil ich mir große Mühe gemacht hatte ihr einen schönen Geburtstagsabend zu bereiten Schade! Aber natürlich kann ich das im Nachhinein nicht mehr ändern. Nächstes Mal werde ich woanders feiern. Aber trotzdem danke für alles....

As before, the tea shop is very well stocked and worth a visit. Unfortunately the restaurant is very run down. Very disappointing! We've been coming here for years, but it's just not possible. The interior was totally run down, wicker chairs with holes in them, broken dishes. It seems as if they want to make a quick buck and not invest more, which is also noticeable in the staff. The food wasn't bad, but it was way overpriced. Unfortunately that was our last visit.

Great, traditional place to eat with good cuisine. Especially since there are only a few tables on the upper floor and it is therefore very quiet and relaxed, for example if you are traveling with a group.
