Erika's Eck in Hamburg

Went to Erika's Eck yesterday with 20 people for the Christmas party... the food used to be better, the service was catastrophic; an older lady had to run the whole place. 3 service employees would have been appropriate... very, very sad. That was my last visit to Erika's Eck.

Food was very tasty. The service is extremely overwhelmed. Ambience there are much nicer offerings and also friendlier. The shop should be avoided if you are thirsty.

It was my first time there but definitely not my last, the food was delicious and the team was simply great 👍👍👍😀

After two attempts we got a place. The atmosphere is rustic, the service is friendly. The food was very tasty. The salad is crisp and fresh, the dressing is delicious. I really enjoyed my sour meat with fried potatoes. The portions are very generous and I couldn't handle my pickled meat. Conclusion: definitely worth a visit.

The food is good and plentiful. I had ordered a large portion of roast beef with fried potatoes and struggled to finish it. The staff tries to find free places, even if you haven't made a reservation, which is strongly recommended, especially on weekends.

Nice friendly staff! As always, the food is delicious! The next time I visit Hamburg I will eat with you again!

Historical trendy pub that you should definitely visit when you come to Hamburg.

Erika’s Eck has managed to transform itself from a dingy corner into a traditional, cozy restaurant with traditional Hamburg cuisine. The service staff is friendly. The food is good, the prices are fair. Freshly tapped beer, a good selection of drinks and food. The sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. Recommended for locals and tourists who want to enjoy real traditional Hamburg cuisine in a cozy atmosphere.

I was there for the first time. Very tasty German food, huge schnitzels and top service. The noise level is a bit high when it's full, but I don't want to sit there for hours. It didn't bother me. Everything was great

Anyone who thinks they are discriminating against people with disabilities and then insulting them is not charming in the Hamburg-Irish way, but simply rude. Dive bar kind of atmosphere specializing in various Jägerschnitzel dishes and other German comfort foods. This was my favorite meal in Hamburg.

A great, rustic restaurant, if you can't get anything in other restaurants, it's a given that you can still get food and drink here after midnight and that's always been the case. Great food, price performance is still right. Nice service. It's nice that Erikas Eck still exists. Keep it up, I'll always be happy to come by.

Nice restaurant and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The food is mid, but still worth a visit if you want a proper schnitzel. The portions are big which make it well worth the money. We arrived at around 19.30 just before the dinner rush and were lucky enough to get a table for an hour. Other people who came after us were not so lucky. So would recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment.

A typical restaurant bar for locals with good prices. The cuisine is simple, generous and good. The welcome is great. Traditional atmosphere which is not unpleasant in an eclectic city like Hamburg.

There with a lot of anticipation. Get in there. Looks comfortable. But there is no table for 1 person for dinner at 9 p.m. With free tables in the store. Poor performance.

Very tasty food at a good price

“Everything used to be better” is often people’s motto. It may have been different, but the ambience and atmosphere as well as good schnitzels with beer on tap remained. So I don't have the feeling that things have gotten any worse here. We received great service and it was very, very tasty - so it's still a place worth a visit.

Unfortunately, my boys and I cannot understand the predominantly positive reviews. We entered the location at 6:10 p.m. and were only served at around 6:40 p.m.! I can understand that it takes longer once the store is full. The waitresses walked past us several times with a spoon or napkins. In that time you could have at least said hello and taken the order. Well, it happened. Ultimately a waitress took care of us and took our order, which wasn't particularly complicated. It took another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. It cannot and should not happen that as a customer you have to wait around 50 minutes for a drink?! The food came... around 7:05 p.m.... wrong too. We won't come back.

Friendly staff, a cozy rustic restaurant/pub with really tasty schnitzels and other dishes. But you have to reserve in advance, otherwise you won't get a seat. I can only recommend it!!! If I'm in Hamburg again, I'll definitely go to Erika's Eck again.

Had lunch with friends from outside, it was again delicious and plentiful. Going to Erika's Eck for lunch or at other times is an experience; local residents, craftsmen, business people and much more come here. You have to know that the program is meat-heavy, tasty and there are large portions.

Although the service left a lot to be desired. Both the quality of the food and its prices are incomparable. It is a highly recommended place if you want to eat typical Hamburg food. Anyway, it's wonderful.

Tolle Kultkneipe, aufmerksamme Bedienung und leckeres Essen. Vorzugsweise muss man reservieren an den Essenenszeiten. 400g Rumsteak auf den Punkt gebraten und Preis Leistung zu 100% in Ordnung.

Totally fun, quaint, lively restaurant with hearty cuisine! Many different types of schnitzel. The portions are large. There are also vegetarian options, but the selection is small but good. Delicious beer, shots and our waitress joked and laughed with us. If you like something a little more rustic but cozy, this is the place for you. A cool place!

Simply outstanding. The food is very tasty, the portions are good and the atmosphere is wonderful! I have rarely had so much fun in Hamburg. Everything just fits. Despite the full house, they made a place for me. I also have the feeling that it's a family atmosphere here... well, I could be wrong. Anyway... full marks from ME.

Cozy atmosphere. Excellent option to eat like a hamburger. The girls were very attentive and tried to explain to me in English, very willing. Excellent price-quality ratio. I asked for the recommendation of the day which was Leberkäse. The portions are super abundant. Maybe the potatoes that accompanied it lacked a little salt or it was a little bland in general, but nothing that can't be fixed by seasoning yourself with salt and pepper. I would try their schinztel or some sausage again. Recommended

Servicen var ikke så god, vores drikkevarer blevet hamret hårdt ned på bordet, ellers var servicen ok (pas dog på for hvis tjeneren laver en fejl i jeres bestilling bliver han vred på jer). Maden var endnu værre, pastaen var overkogt og sovsen var rent vand.

One of the worst experience ever. Terrible service and the food was really bad. If you want to describe it as food. The prices certainly did not match the lack of proper service and food. Don't waste time at this eatery. Can only be described as miserable!

Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience at Erika's Eck. We were a large company who had called in advance and asked if the place had capacity for us, they did and asked us to choose from the menu in advance. When we arrive it is clear that the staff are not ready for us at all. After quite a while (taking pre-order into account) the food arrives, the quality is far below what is expected for the price. Several in the company give up halfway through, especially the steaks are criticised. The payment was a big mess, it is unwise not to use a more modern system than pen and paper when you say yes to such large companies. We will not be coming to the place again and cannot recommend it to other large groups.

We had food delivered from there yesterday. Currywurst and schnitzel were okay, the fries were extremely bad. They seemed like all the leftover “leftover fries” had been fried a second time. Not only a shame, but also incomprehensible given the price!!

We also really wanted to visit this cult pub and try out the famous schnitzel dishes and Mett rolls. We wanted to order at the bar first, the waitress said we should wait and sit down. We then sat down and waited for about 20 minutes. Unfortunately we weren't served and then left.

Really good and well-portioned home-style cooking

What do you do when you're traveling in a "foreign" city and looking for a restaurant to eat? We google it and then look for a location with at least 4.5 stars and have actually never been disappointed. When we arrived at Erika's Corner, we checked the address and Google rating again... 4.7 stars that has to be fine, even if it looks anything but inviting from the outside. When you enter the restaurant it has the feel of an outdated clubhouse. What the heck 4.7* is an announcement and after all we are here to eat and not to take photos. A bold lady then tries to greet you in a friendly manner and asks you to wait until you are assigned a table. If you want to talk about service and friendliness here, then I would give it 2 out of 5 stars. The food (Wiener-style schnitzel and potato gratin with spinach - at least that's what it said on the menu) was favorably rated as OK, although in our opinion the gratin was more of a "casserole in sauce" than a gratin. The schnitzel itself was perfectly fine, but it was served on a bed of fries and vegetables, which wasn't really to my liking. As we all know, tastes are different, but I find it questionable to give this place more than 4 stars. I give it a generous 3 stars and that's only because my expectations were probably too high.

Service: Fantastic, Food: Outstanding!! The best goulash soup in the world!! Just ate there again. Still one of the best restaurants of its kind in the world. Schade war schon mal besser. Das Tiefkühlgemüse kann man weg lassen , schmeckt nicht. Der Salat wär mit etwas Dressing doch besser zu essen. Salz und Pfeffer fehlten leider auf den Tischen. Für Ketchup und Majo extra zahlen Das Schnitzel auf den Pommes , schade diese waren dann leider nicht mehr knusprig. Dazu ist es einfach zu teuer .

I really loved this restaurant! The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is incredibly friendly. The food is not only delicious, but also very filling and surprisingly affordable. That's true here Value for money simply. A highly recommended place for anyone looking for a delicious and inexpensive meal in a warm environment!

First of all: My wife had nothing wrong with her fried herring, hence a star. My schnitzel and the entire stay didn't even deserve this one. The schnitzel was a real disaster. I had the choice between salad or vegetable side dish. I chose the salad. It was hardly to be found on the plate, instead there was a mountain of bland frozen vegetables. The nice but undoubtedly completely overwhelmed waiter took note of my complaint about this, but he obviously didn't care at all about it either. When we paid the bill he asked again if we were satisfied. So my complaint seemed to have been forgotten again. Maybe Erika was having a bad day. I won't know whether there are good days because I won't be entering Erika's Eck anymore.

Nachdem wir in König der Löwen waren hatten wir Hunger. Mit dem Taxi zu Erikas Ecke um dort ein Schnitzel zu essen. Ein Super Jägerschnitzel und eine sehr große Portion. Vielen Dank dafür.

I knew about the store from an NDR report and was really excited to shop here in the morning. Last weekend the time had come and I experienced pure bliss when I was able to enjoy a pepper wedge and beer with 3 friends at 2:30 in the morning. What else can I say please?

We wanted to eat there but the owner wouldn’t even let us inside. My boyfriend tried to explaine that we wanted to eat there, but he couldn’t even start to explaine that because she just keept interrupted him with no, no, no. Very rude. So if you aren’t local. Don’t go there.

Nothing to discover, like a basic menu of the day.

The ambience is typically Hamburg nice, rustic in the basement with an old bar and drinks bar. The service was always friendly and not at all intrusive, the food was good, well, apart from the schnitzel, everything seemed like it was straight out of a convection machine. The cost for schnitzel, fried potatoes and vegetables was around 14 euros.

Quaint pub with history and delicious food

I've been going to the corner irregularly for 20 years and have always been impressed. It WAS (!) a Hamburg institution, famous for schnitzel, roast beef and fried potatoes. Today (August 19, 2024): Warm, stale beer from the tap, sparkling water without sparkling water. When it comes to beer, there is no such thing as colder and when it comes to water: then the cartridge is probably empty. I can't do otherwise. Roast beef got 5 stars last time, today a maximum of one. The schnitzel fell from 5 to 2 stars. The fried potatoes are half raw. Overall, everything was completely tasteless. Service wasn't as cordial as usual but just in a bad mood and/or incompetent. All that remains of the old charm is the greasy ambience. The only thing that has gone up is the prices: € 101, for 4 people with a drink each (see above) I have never left in the corner. VERY VERY BAD! But I won't come back.

Here you can eat like your mother's 😀, the food is simply delicious 👍. If you're in Hamburg you definitely have to stop by here 😍. Schnitzel with fried potatoes and hunter's sauce is my favorite 🙃.

As always, we ate great food and have been eating there for years when we are in Hamburg. Despite the new ownership, the quality of the food has not suffered. Highly recommended. But it was best to make reservations if you were lucky.

If you come without a reservation you will be greeted very unfriendly and ignored. I had this experience some time ago. If you post a review describing this incident, the owner tries to delete this review on the grounds of slander... Absolute audacity. If you have had bad experiences you should be allowed to share them, but apparently this store is not very open to criticism. I call this freedom of expression. This probably also explains the many good reviews because the negative ones are deleted or reported.

So first of all, service was great, super nice. The Astra draft beer had no carbonation, in my opinion the fries were undercooked and simply too raw. In a shop like this you can expect that the fries will be good. But then what I personally don't understand is what's the point of these vegetables in a schnitzel with fries, such tasteless bagged vegetables and then more than half the plate full? That was kind of weird, if it at least tasted good. Then better have more salad.

Lunch was super tasty. Very friendly service. We sat at the new tables outside. Always happy.

Delicious food and good portions

I had schnitzel Viennese style with fried potatoes. That was a decent portion and it was delicious too. The waitress was super nice and very attentive. It is precisely because the shop is getting a bit old that it has so much charm. Everything has also been kept in good condition. Will definitely come back one day.

It was my first time at Erikas Eck and I have to say that I haven't eaten such delicious food in a long time as I did at Erikas Eck and the service is a dream, everyone is very friendly and I can only highly recommend Erikas Eck very cozy I have to say I really do I haven't felt as comfortable in a long time as I did at Erikas Eck. The restaurant is awesome.
